Variel was securing back the long, pink locks that she had dyed and styled earlier of a past two and a half hour in the morn', trying to maintain a natural look to it, and despite the obvious shade of pink that would make her stand out amongst the crowd of typical Japanese people who had dark hair and dark eyes, she merely smiled as she pulled on the hood jacket that she was wearing a bit more, and added more mascara to her lashes that framed the pair of vibrant blue contacts that she was wearing from the makeup bag that she carried on her at all times. Putting the mp3 player device in her manicured hands gently from her pockets as she did with placing the buds in her ears, Variel slightly adjusted her bangs.
Stepping back from the reflection of the mirror of someone's car, she greatly appreciated the
final result after slightly fixing it up. "Well, Hiromi Tatsuke, you must keep up your appearance," she muttered, adjusting the black headband, "after all, it isn't in your character to appear so messy in public, is it?" Ignoring the way that passerby pedestrians stared at her oddly and miffed at how she was fixing up her appearance in public, using a car while in a busy part that led to the metro, and merely continued smiling as she headed on out further on the sidewalks. Despite the lack of music coming from her ear buds, she hummed a children's nursery rhyme in muffled French, seeing as she kept her lips tightly shut.
..Hiromi should be walking straighter. She adjusted her walking posture, and moved with a more confident gait, but was snapped out of her rapidly moving thoughts when the large screens and advertising boards that were placed throughout in an electronics store that she was about to pass by was suddenly tuning in to a different broadcast of a news castor woman (
Dear Lord, her makeup's simply atrocious. 'Hiromi' thought to herself, keeping silent as the crowds of people slowed and stopped to what they were doing, watching with keen interest and crowded themselves around her.)
"We're sorry to interrupt your scheduled program, but this is a message for all of Japan, and involves the investigation of the criminal known as 'Kira'." Just then the picture changed to a man sitting at a desk with a name plate in front of him, reading 'James C. Mueller'.
"Hello, my name is James C. Mueller, otherwise known as the detective 'Commotion'." The man said with complete seriousness.
What? This is 'Commotion? 'Hiromi' was temporarily forgotten as Variel slightly slouched into a more nature and more accustomed posture that she was used to as she slowly slipped from her acting facade, eyes firmly set on watching the television.
Why would a world-renown that even I've heard of, appear on television himself? Surely, showing his face would give him a disadvantage, wouldn't it? She pondered, but another thought came along, voicing an opinion that was slightly more arrogant,
he must have a very good incognito disguise, or a professional who does that for him. She folds her arms over close to her chest.
... But then again, that's a risk as well. She decides to stop thinking as she tries to catch the rest of whatever it was that the man who was appearing on the screen was saying.
"... over your head. I came here on television to tell you personally that I'm coming for you." Variel gave a sharp, inconspicuous grunt, breathing out air from her nose, head tilting upwards as she continued to watch. The man continues to speak in a justified matter, but then there's a moment of pause, and there's a faint sound of shouting from a distance away from here, but she isn't one of the few who turns to see what it was, or runs away to see what was going on some streets away. She's frowning slightly as she focuses deeply on the screen. There's no sound that's coming out when 'Commotion' tilts his head slightly and then says something. She's taken aback when the television's screen is suddenly switched to that of a white screen with the word COMMOTION across it. She blinks several times as the
real Commotion is speaking through a filtered voice, and Variel watches in a slight awe.
From that crazy stunt, he was able to deduce that the killer's here
in Kumomi? .. The man lives up to his namesake's reputation. She stands there briefly, trying to understand exactly what just happened as the television then changes to their regular programs, and people begin frantically talking or whispering to their companions, or just merely walk away in scatter emotions. It's several minutes before she too begins to walk away, slowly reversing back into her role as her spine straightens with every step and her her head is being held high.
This world's really messed up with both gifted and crazy people.. Variel didn't want to admit that she felt slightly a bit of a hypocrite thinking that, but thinks nothing but of it as she continues her way home to her rented apartment. She doesn't feel very safe, but, then again, who did, in this current situation of the world?
Kira must be one crazy guy as well..
