PRINCESS AMARYILLIS
Image
Name: Amaryillis
Gender: Female
Age: 20
Height: 5,8
Occupation: Royal
Rank: Princess
Personality: She's smart, friendly and caring. She worries about people even ones she knows she shouldn't. She sees everything as it is and can normally see right.through a lie. Strong hearted and intelligent however she can be feisty and rebellious but the times she's like that are few and rare.
She's the kind of person that appears easy to control but you'll never actually have her in your full command.

She's a sweet caring lady of many talents but most wouldn't make her an amazing queen anyway her brother's to be king not that she cared. She has the voice of angel and a way with words which could turn saints into the sea or Satan into heaven but she talks little scared to embarass herself but importantly her family.
d rewrite parts or may her own entirely unique text up out of nothing. She writes poems, stories and sometimes even songs if she's feeling positive. You can easily tell her mood by the tunes she sings, whistles or hums on a bad day her songs will be old sad songs about bullying or loss on normal days she'll just sing the traditional songs she grew up knowing on a good day she just makes it all up. She's innocent but being part of the royal family she feels to blame.
Nationality: Megaro

Bio:
She grew up simply and easily simply learning to be a princess never saw anything more dramatic then an arguement until at thirteen her eyes were opened up to the conflict and hate. As she grew older the hate turned into a war and she fwlt disgusted and embarassed she hadn't even tried to prevent it. She never understood why they couldn't live in peace as friends and grow stronger as a single unit. She sometimes wishes she could of grown up in blissful ignorance but the rumors spread like wild fire and barely old enough to understand why it was happening she was introduced to the world's real colors.

She has never been a rule breaker or tried to cause trouble but she has been secretive and slightly deceitful at times when she's found herself with her neck on line but she's always been so innocent and sweet that she was soon forgiven but she has a feeling that being 20 now has lost her that benefit.
Nationality: Metargo

Fertaninn, the eastern half of Benjlakk, has been a hub for the majority of the country's farmers, solar technicians, and biologists for centuries. This is also where the Benjlakki Republic's capital city, the District of Justicra, resides. Fertile lands and relatively untouched natural habitats make it a paradise for people wanting an escape from city life, or even from politics, for that matter. This land is where we begin our story, with the three major nations' ambassadors, leaders, and finest military folk, have gathered to discuss Benjlakk's neutrality policies, specifically, the chances of the Republic changing those policies to choose between allying with the Metargo Kingdom or the Mysticaran Federation. Little did anyone suspect, a metaphorical time bomb hidden within the events inside the Republic itself, events that will unleash a wrath unseen in generations.

It is morning, with the day patrols within Diplomacy Square to begin soon. The Malachi Brothers, Benjlakk's two finest veteran aces in mech unit piloting, have already eaten breakfast and got into their ceremonial uniforms. Zechariah's was light khaki, whereas Benjamin's was forest green. The main reason they wore different colors was to which was which, since the main visible difference would otherwise be the body build, Ben being a little bulkier than Zech.

Just before finishing up preparations, Zechariah picked up his communication disk to record a voice message to send to a girl named Amaryllis. He met her some time after the last Benjlakki-Metargo war. They accidentally bumped into each other at a Solar Tech Convention in Southeastern Fertaninn. From there, they spoke to each other about their mutual dislike of war and fighting, along with random chatter, which resulted in romance blossoming. Of course, it was not the lustful kind. This romance took on a more innocent form, one which would be found in pairs of people who feel they could spend the rest of their lives with one another, if possible. Alas, Zechariah never was aware or Amaryllis being the Princess of Metargo, nor was she aware of him being a member of the prestigious Malachi family known for its military service to Benjlakk. The conversation ended that day with him giving her one of the two communication disks he crafted and meant to use.

Zechariah certainly hope amaryllis still had that communication disk he gave her, so that they would still keep in touch, on occasion. The recorded message before the patrol was:

To Amaryllis:

This is a big day for my home country, the Benjlakki Republic. President Anderson is going to talk to officials from your country and the Mysticaran Federation one last time before he and the Senate portion of Congress make an official statement involving the war beyond Benjlakki borders. I hope neither you nor people you care about have been hurt by the conflict, so far. If only more people would try to work out their differences without inflicting pain on one another, then there would be no need for militaries, no need for weapons, no need to draft able-bodied men and women. Sadly, the previous war between our two countries resulted in a draft of many people in our age group, me included. As such, I had no choice but to fight.

But now, things are different. Even though I’m still a mech unit pilot in the Benjlakki Armed Forces, I am seriously doubt I will be partaking in the one we shall be receiving an official statement on. We have always been neutral in other nations’ wars. If I were able to now, Angels willing, I’d bring you with me to the region I was born and raised in, Fertaninn. It is a safe enough place, well-defended, largely peaceful. Life generally goes at a slower pace, here, which would be perfect for what we both hope for our lives to be, lives without much worry of violence. The locals of my hometown are like family, we all know each other by name.

I better head out, soon. I am scheduled to patrol the District of Justicra’s Diplomacy Square, where the discussions, and festivities, are to take place. Things tend to get a little rowdy when people from opposing nations see one another, and the last thing we need is a riot to ruin the whole event. I hope to hear from you, soon.

Yours forever and always,
Zechariah

The moment he finished and sent the message was the moment Benjamin asked, “Who is this Amaryllis gal you keep talking to with that disk?”

“Long story,” Zech said while he put up the disk and loaded his two solar-powered pistols in case matters were to get bloody, which he highly doubted.

Once at Diplomacy Square, there were a few fights between Metargo and Mysticaran guests, all of whom were arrested for disturbing the peace, along with the charge of assault and battery. For the most part, however, everything was orderly and pleasant. Just as the Malachi Brothers were to head to the bar section to see if any drunks were starting anything, President Howard Anderson and King Saul Metargo greeted them with warm smiles, the President saying, “Ah, Sergeant and Corporal Malachi! Glad you could make it!”

The Malachi Brothers saluted simultaneously while stating, “Reporting for patrol, as ordered, Mr. President!”

Saul walked over to Zechariah and shook his hand. “So, you are the legendary Eagle of Mercy? There is no shame in losing the last war to such a talented and honorable mech pilot! Your parents would have been proud, no doubt!”

Zech merely looked downwards. “I… miss them… Not only that, but… I don’t see how war can be so honorable, with all the horrors and hatred that it brings.”

Ben cleared his throat to add, “He only fought because he was drafted.”

The Metargo King nodded in understanding. “I see. All the same, though…” he suddenly remembered something, which was noticeable by his head jerking in different directions. “Well, by the heavens, where is my little, sweet daughter? She should be here, by now.” An instant later, he spotted who he was looking for. “Ah, Amaryllis! You are right on time! You are about to meet the great Eagle of Mercy, Zechariah Malachi!”

Zechariah’s eyes widened. “Did… did you just say, “Amaryllis”? She’s your…” His whole body was frozen, for a moment, at the sight of the woman. She looked much like the one he met at the convention. Slowly walking up to her, he said, “Amaryllis? Is that…?” He then looked down at his belt and detatched the communication disk from it, holding it out in front of him in confusion. “Do you… remember when I gave you… the…?” He could not complete his sentence, after that.

------

Gracchus Ossi, an elf Golem Rider from the Green Golem Riders' Air and Ground Party, was escorting his commanding officer, Pygmalion Faust, at Diplomacy Square while making friendly chatter with him. "Well, this certainly is quite a festival, don't you agree, sir? I mean, all the different people, wines, coffees, foods, everything just seems intriguing. Can you imagine all the things we could learn just by talking to these guys?"

------

Aaron Lextu stood next to one of his fellow Metargo soldiers, May, not even bothering to talk to anyone. All he could think of was how much he despised one particular Benjlakki, his rival, Zechariah, for defeating him several times the last war. His eyes spelled obvious anger, even within the calm exterior.

Amaryillis's cheeks burnt red. With one sentence her Father had blown away her cover. She wanted to lie and act confused but she would've be able to deal with the dirty guilt after. She gave a small nod and half whispering she only managed a "Yes... She felt terrible but when she looked at him she knew she wasn't the only keeper of secrets but to keep her Father's suspicions as low as possible she quickly flicked her head up and apologised for being late before giving Zechariah a polite and sweet "Nice to meet you."

She knew then she'd have to talk to Zechariah alone at some point now to try an redeem herself but deep down she doubted she could. Her lie had been so big and so weak that Zechariah must surely be angry? Amaryllis thought.

Her bright purple eyes had shadowed she knew it sounded horribly clinque but she hadn't wanted to him find out like this...or at all really until she could come clean without the reality of losing his trust and just him forever but then another thought cane to her. If she'd been true Zechariah wouldn't of even given her a second though and she'd had a feeling about him from the second her purple eyes met his.

She looked st her Father to see what he was making of all this deeply hoping he'd be oblivious to it but then again he's king He's meant to know and see everything. Amaryllis bit down on her lip which had gone dry with shock. She pursed her lips together and tried to moisten them. When she gave up and released her lip she looked at her Father and Zechariah and forced her normally casual polite smile.

She wanted to grab Zechariah's arm and drag him somewhere else so she could explan herself but she'd never get away with marching off espically from her Father. She sighed under her shallow breath and kept her purple eyes on the two men silently praying she'd be forgiven.

Zechariah realized from the nod and half whisper that this was indeed the same Amaryllis that he met at the convention. Grinning politely, he put away his disk and said, "Pardon me for my rudeness. It is a pleasure to meet you, too."

Benjamin quizzically glanced at his brother and the princess. So, that's the gal he's been talking to with the disk? Why the sudden reactions? There's nothing to be ashamed of, is there? He decided to help his brother out by playing along. "Well, quite a pleasant surprise, eh? Want me to get all three of us some vanilla lattes? It's on me."

Zechariah knew Benjamin was trying to allow him and Amaryllis to have some alone time, so he nodded. "Sure, Ben, thanks."

Just as Benjamin went over to the coffee bar, President Anderson looked at his watch, stating, "Well, it seems it is time for Saul and I to head to the conference, so we do not end up late." He motioned for Oriana to come along before walking away.

Saul kept his smile upon. He had a vague clue as to why his daughter and Zechariah reacted the way they did, yet said nothing about it. He figured it best if he did not press the matter. He went towards the conference room after saying to amaryllis. "I better get going. I'll come to pick you up after the meeting."

Now that nobody was near the pair, Zechariah could now talk to Amaryllis without anyone else hearing them. "I'm... I'm sorry for not telling you about my being of the Malachi family. I just... was afraid you'd end up thinking of me in terms of my heritage, only. I wanted you to know the real me, not what other people say about me."

-----

"Hey, hey, hey! We were told not to show any disrespect to the Benjlakki or its important sites! This is neutral territory, you know!" Using his Sanitation Magic, Gracchus cleaned up the spot that had been spat on, twice, maybe more than that. "And we'll get that AI after we leave this country! We cannot afford to make the Benjlakki mad by violating their neutrality! Any spying, stealing, or some other stuff like that will jeopardize our chances of making an ally of those guys, thus ensuring victory against Metargo!" He rolled his eyes at his commanding officer's words of what it was about. "We already know what it's about, unless you weren't listening to your superiors. It's about Benjlakk's neutrality policies and the chance of either side of this war convincing them to get involved and side with one or the other. The more respectful we are, the better the chances of having the Benjlakki Republic on our side. Besides, this place is not all "metal-heads", there are plenty of magi here, too, and they all work to together to keep the natural environment cleaner instead of having at each other's throats. I've read a book about Benjlakk that was written by one of our tribe's scholars, I would know."

I'm beginning to wonder if joining the Natrulkra Tribal Force was a good idea, after all. You'd think your commanding officers would be more informed about other places than you? I guess stupidity is the standard for leading a group of soldiers... Poor Gracchus was so internally frustrated by his group's leader's obvious ignorance, he was unaware of one of the Benjlakki soldiers headed towards him until they collided into each other. "Sorry about that, sir. I was a bit distracted due to a little... well, a little bit of annoyance in my mind."

The soldier, Benjamin, chuckled a little as he said, "Don't worry about it! I was a little dazed, myself!"

Gracchus nodded. "Well, we better get going, maybe we'll talk, later."

Once at the conference room, all weapons and rings were confiscated by the Benjlakki troops inside. There to meet the two Mysticarans were President Howard Anderson, King Saul Metargo, and Benjlakk's diplomat, Oriana Aspiral. Gracchus merely nodded with a small grin and sat don at one of the chairs.

Once everyone was seated, President Anderson began the meeting. "Order, please... Thank you. As you all know, Benjlakk has a long history of neutrality in other nation's wars. It is what allowed the Republic to prosper, to live, and to have its citizens live without worry of being killed in any crossfire whatsoever. Time and time again, invasions by other countries have reminded we Benjlakki of the horrors of war, and the hatred it breeds. We have already fought a war, recently, and we would rather we recover fully from it. It would prove difficult to convince Congress to take either side, even if we were not recovering from a past war. As we begin our discussion of the policies we Benjlakki have, I pray we all behave with civility, without insults or threats or anything else disrespectful." He held out his hand towards Oriana to cue her in to give her point of view on the conflict. "Ladies first."

-----

Meanwhile, Benjamin waited in a long line for his chance to order the lattes. He knew by the time he would return to his brother and the princess with the beverages, their conversation would most likely be over. Let's hope no fights break up with us not on patrol, right now.

-----

Aaron decided to speak to May after a few more moments of angry silence. "Hmph! They said the so-called "Eagle of Mercy" would be in this part of town, today, yet he does not seem to be. At any rate, what's the point of trying to convince a bunch of cowards to ally with us when they hide within that shell they call "neutrality"? They're too much like rats and mice who scurry into their little holes to get away from cats."

"That'll be perfect Father...Thank you."
Zechariah apologuising made Amaryllis feel terrible. It wasn't his fault they both did the exact same thing for the exact same reasons. "Don't be! I did the exact same thing for the same reasons...the exact same reasons... And just so it's clear I never judge a person. I know every human does the.second lay their eyes on someone but I ignore my first opinions on people until I've spoken to them...but i dont think many others think like me..."

She looked a little upset and her purple eyes were giving away too much infomation. That was one of her weaknesses...you culd her eyes like a book and she knew it but trying to hijde her emotions only seemed to make it much harder and made more emotion leak free.

She trapped her pale hand in her dark glossy hair twirling it around her index finger silently. Amaryllis's head was tilted down slightly and the shane of..being a liar was printed across her head and she started to wonder about what would happen next. She looked up...barely but slightly.

Aaron glanced over to May. "Not my choice. We're here to try to ally with them because when they do fight, they are a force to be reckoned with. They have the strength, yet they rarely use it unless threatened directly. If you ask me, any negotiations to change their policy is a waste. Yet somehow, the government feels they should go through that trouble despite the odds of success being slim. The Prime Minister is desperate to break the stalemate between us and Mysticara before election time comes. If he does not deliver a victory soon, his political party won't win enough seats in parliament for him to stay in office. That's politics, for you."

-----

Zechariah felt even more awful once he heard what Amaryllis said. He could not help but feel he must do something to help her feel better emotionally. In the end, the Eagle of Mercy decided to hug her. "I..." Yet again, he was at a loss for words. This was one of his weaknesses, he knew what he wanted o say, yet would at times be at a loss as to how to say it. Finally, pulling away a little, he used his right hand to gently lift her head up so their eyes met, then close his eyes and pressed his lips onto hers. Zechariah always spoke better with his actions than his words.

Amarylls went red when he hugged her but when he looked in eachothers eyes and kissed her heart went wild in her chest beating impossibly fast like hummingbird's. She could fell all her negative feelings being washed away like trees in a tidal wave. Her eyes were shut but she could still see Zechariah's face crystal clear in her mind as if she had a picture pinned to the inside of her head. She could feel her heart drumming in her chest to untamed beat and she honestly thought for a second that it might explode. Behind her eyelids her eyes sparkled but they remained shut tightly like a safe door so tight water can't slip through.

President Anderson nodded after Pygmalion's speech and said, "Protecting nature and helping it regrow is a noble cause, yes. The speech shall be taken into account when the announcement on the results of this conference is made in front of the Senate portion of Congress."

Gracchus shrugged after hearing Faust's whisper, whispering back to him with, "Wouldn't be hard for me to play nice, I am always pleasant to others when outside the battlefield."

The President continued on by saying, "Now that we have heard the Mysticaran Federation's statements, it is now the Metargo Kingdom's turn to speak."

King Saul stood up, records in hand. "Greetings to everyone gathered here, today. I am Saul Metargo, King of the nation named after my family, the Metargo Kingdom. While the royal court did not always support the policies made in parliament, we have always been dutiful to our country." He glanced toward Howard. "If I may, Mr. President, I would like to point out a simple flaw in how the Mysticaran Federation set out to begin their 'crusade to preserve the natural balance in our world', as they would put it." Inserting his datapad into a slideshow camera, he had pictures appear of a certain weapon on the Mysticaran side they used in the past. "You can see here, the weapon of mass destruction they have used against us: a type of golem ship called a 'sand worm'." The slide show continued as he spoke. "That is what they used in their aggression against us, initiating the whole war through it. As you can see, it is larger than a whale. When it began to dig, it tore through the foundations of the buildings in the city of Progrossa, along with thirteen other communities. That same destruction cause not only killed six million people and wounded others -not to mention left homeless-, but it also resulted in countless chemicals being spilt into the ground, contaminating the soil they all touched. Pardon me if I sound absurd, but for what reason would someone under the motto of 'preserving the natural balance' be hypocritical and cause damage to the environment in an act of war? Are they now under a double standard? Fortunately, we were able to destroy that weapon before it did any further damage."

When the King gathered the records and sat down, the President nodded. "The information on the magnitude of the destruction within communities and natural habitats with the 'sand worm' does shed some light on how your dispute has escalated. However, we have also seen via satellite the Metargo Kingdom's military setting fire to Mysticaran villages in retaliation."

One of the diplomats besides Oriana immediately, yet politely said, "Although, the community razing has stopped there on both sides, Mr. President. Both nations now just go after military targets."

"Point well taken, Francis." The President nodded towards both men before saying to everyone in the conference room, "Well, so far, there are valid points from both sides, yet there are set backs, as well. If anything, this could reinforce the decision to remain neutral. Is there any further discussion?" From there, the meeting was full of a bunch of statements which kept on being countered by one another.

-----

Aaron hesitantly shook the man's hand, a puzzled look on his face "Hello, there sir, but... isn't it a little odd for men of opposing nationalities to be greeting each other this way? What is your name, by any chance? You seem a little familiar."

-----

When Zechariah and Amaryllis parted lips, he smiled gently towards her, saying, "Why don't we sit down at a bench while we wait for Ben?" He found one without much worry. They were practically all over Diplomacy Square. When they were both seated, he brought out a leaf he picked from a bush, earlier, showing it to Amaryllis. "This came off of a Vitallik bush. They are fairly common in the forests of Southeastern Fertaninn. When it is used to make tea, it can speed up healing processes in patients, as well as help enhance the immune system." His smile faltered a little. "If only I was given the chance to use my knowledge of solar technology to help the medical and agricultural fields before I was drafted. It would be nice to construct things instead of destructing, for a change."

-----

Benjamin heard wings unfold. It was a faint sound that most people untrained in minding their surrundings would not hear, so nobody but him heard the sound. He jerked his head in that general direction to see a winged woman. His eyes widened as he noticed the wings. And yet, there was this innocence coming out of her. In the end, that got the better of him as he walked forward with a small grin. "Well, hello there, miss!" He could be a smooth talker, sometimes, whenever he sees a woman he deems cute. "You don't seem to be from around here, nor Metargo or Mysticara. I guess you're just here for the festivities, eh?" He held her hand and shook it gently, grinning warmly. "May I ask what your name is?"

Picha clenched his teeth. The stereotypical Metargo soldier was less accurate than he supposed. Still, nothing like getting to know someone through proposed murder. At least there'd be no assassins on his trail. Picha leaned back. "Suit yourself, but if I was you I'd sleep with weapon in hand. To give you some peace of mind I'll tell Zechariah the deal's off. Good day to you". As he approached Zechariah Picha guessed that assassin was a bit bold around here, he needed something more... delicate. No need for handshake, he needed to appear as though he already knew him. Picha approached the bench and eased himself onto it. He placed an arm around Zechariah and whispered "Don't be alarmed, your life is in danger but I'm here to help you". Damn Picha, you're smoother than silk he thought to himself. "I'm a mercenary and I was hired by Aron to 'take care' of you, you understand?". Picha pointed over at Zechariah, from where Zechariah stood the topic of conversation was ambiguous at best. "He hired a few, I can't remember their faces as it was all done in secret, incognito. I'll act as appointed body guard, watching night and day in exchange for a place to stay". Picha stretched, the sun reflecting smartly off his steely mask. "Consider it for a while, the man's a real cut-throat".

Amaryllis smiled. "Sounds good." She replied. When Zechariah started talking about the leaves Amaryllis found herself impressed by what he knew. "Smart ass." She teased his next sentence made her look up at him and she with a smile she said "I'm sure one day you shall." After all we can't fight forever... She thought but it didn't come out her mouth.

"You ever read the 'The Highway Man'? It was written before an age of computers and technology. Maybe you haven't infact I doubt you have but it's probably the most enchanting poem I've ever read." Amaryllis trying to ease away from a conversation resolving around war or rivals. It was only a bonus that Amary knew a lot about literacy and old texts.

She crossed one leg over the other neatly smoothing the material of her clothes carefully. Amaryllis folded her hands in her lap smartly. She looked well mannered and smart just by the way she sat and positioned herself. She pushed her glossy black hair down her shoulder blades and out her face wishing she had thought to pin it all up properly but Amaryllis always thought buns and other pinned up hairstyles were too regal and despite her well learnt manners and intelligence she was never a fan of looking royal or intelligent.

Zechariah laughed internally when Amaryllis called him a smarty, jokingly thinking, Better than being a dummy. He felt a little better hearing her words. Before he could respond, though, a burly, tall man suddenly had his arm on his shoulder, which prompted him to say to that man, "Hello?"

"Don't be alarmed, your life is in danger but I'm here to help you".

"What do you mean? Is Benjlakk now part of the war?"

"I'm a mercenary and I was hired by Aaron to 'take care' of you, you understand?".

Zechariah raised an eyebrow for a moment, then looked at the ground and sighed. "Aaron can be extreme, yes, even a bit bold," Okay, maybe more than a bit. ",but I doubt he'd go that far. Whenever we fought, he'd keep raving about glory in battle, and how he has a family reputation to uphold. Like my family, the Malachi family, the Lextus are known for excelling in military service. If you ask me, though, glory does not stop the horrors of war, so it's pointless." He looked up at the man. "Although, I can call Lieutenant Antilles, and he can set you up with an orange shirt with numbers across the upper part of it. How does that sound?"

-----

Benjamin was internally smitten by the Clarissa's beauty. "Benjamin, Benjamin Malachi." He took his forest-green military hat off while adding, "You probably would of heard of my brother, Zechariah, sooner or later. He's frequently referred to as the Eagle of Mercy because, during the Benjlakki Republic's last war with the Metargo Kingdom, he never shot to kill, always aiming at the arms, hands, legs, feet, and shoulders to disable foes so he wouldn't have to kill them. One darn good pilot, too. In a mech-to-mech fight, he'd come out on top, even against Metargo's own mech unit ace, Aaron Lextu." Placing the hat back on his head, he added, "But, I'm sure you're not here for a recent history lesson or to talk about violent stuff like that. You like vanilla lattes? I was going to get three, one for my brother, one of the other two for his girlfriend, but I can swing a fourth one in for you. It's on me. What do you say?"

-----

Aaron snickered a little at what the 'assassin' said when he left. Looking at May with his usual frown, again, he said, "Well, I guess we stood around more than long enough, and we won't be hearing from the King for a while. I think we have more than enough time to do something before we're to accompany him and the Princess back to the shuttle. We were selected to escort them before and during the conference, after all. What do want to do? Have a drink? Talk to somebody? Some other activity?"

Picha pondered for a moment, the Banjlakki colours did have orange in them. Could it be? Was this noble Benjlakki suggesting a football team? Picha's height would give him excellent advantage on the pitch, the glory, the fans! It was all too much, Picha wasn't ready for that sort of commitment, so soon as well. He removed his arm from Zechariah's shoulder and breathed a deep sigh. "I have always enjoyed football but I must confess that I do not feel ready". He rose to his feet and looked at something in the distance, "Don't try to change my mind, I'm afraid my skills need honing still". Picha looked at the fine lady next to Zechariah, kidnapping crossed his mind but it passed once he caught sight of the solar-powered pistols at Zechariah's side. "Keep those close to you at all times" Picha pointed to the pistols. "If you're ever in need of a body guard, call me" Picha held a finger-phone to his ear and pointed to it before taking a step away. "I'll take my leave... back onto the streets... practically penniless... I was hoping the hawk of mercy had it in him to *sniff* I guess not... I'll probably STARVE, but whatever... another body guard unemployed" his plight falling on deaf ears. He moped back the to corner he was previously brooding in, secretly resigning himself to nights of football practice.

Zechariah raised an eyebrow when he heard Picha go on about a sport, then leave. I guess he didn't know I was referring to jail. Looking back at Amaryllis, he whispered to her, "I was actually referring to jail, but I guess he didn't realize that. Oh, well." Standing up and offering his arm, he said to her, "You think we should check up on Ben? He's probably over at the refreshment section of Diplomacy Square, waiting in line for coffee."

((Since everyone will be at Diplomacy Square for quite a while, I doubt it'd be wise for Hazel to come in, just yet, to start a fight. I'll let you know when it's time, Bionic.))

PRINCESS AMARYLLIS
Amaryllis's eyes widened dramatically when the man said Zechariah's life was endangered.
"Wait...who even are you?" She asked her smile had vanished entirely by now and she was silently panicking she showed no such feeling though. That's the thing with Amaryllis coming from a royal family she had to hide fear or else she'd look weak and if she looked weak her family looked weak and there fore the whole Metargo race looked weak which wouldn't do any good. Fear was probably the only thing you'd never detect in the back of Amaryllis's eyes.

This is wrong. Everyone trying to kill everyone and for what? Money? Take a loan. Power? Get a better job. Land? Buy it with hard earnt money not blood! Amaryllis could never find a reason to kill...ever. Lives were precious and irreplaceable. You can't give another life once yours is gone. Life is the only thing we have that is truely our own, yet people insist to take that anyway?

Her head hung in thought and her black hair cutrained her heart shaped face. Her eyebrows burrowed in mild frustration. Why couldn't anyone else see this was wrong? Assassins are as bad as demons from hell in Amaryllis's eyes but she'd never even be able to raise a hand to one- even in self defence. Amaryllis knew how to fight it had been compulsery when she was a child to know but her lessons often ended in tantrums or sulking she was a sweet girl but she did have a royal temper as a child. The temper is mostly dormant but it is no way extinct.

She'd once broke a chair when a boy ripped a page out a rare old book Amaryllis had been caught reading in the gardens by a kid she didn't know. She'd got so angry that day cracking her bedroom door with a slam when she finally got back to her room. After the explosion she'd felt terribly bad but he'd ruined one of her favorite books, eventually someone glued the page back in for her but it never made her forgive him. If Amaryllis saw him again she'd apologuise but the chances were so slim as she didn't even remember his face but she'd never of considered an apology at that age.

Her head snapped up from her thoughts as she looked at them with deep eyes but it appeared he was already leaving and she gave a sigh of relief he freaked her out offering to help or not. She kept silent for a minute then she looked at the sky and her hair fell back down her shoulder blades.

Hanzi was cupped in an armchair, facing the window of his hotel room. His tremendous girth spilling over the sides and his face well greased with the remnants of the numerous roasted bird wings he had consumed. Binoculars pressed against his eyes he watched the princess from afar. "ARMURULLUS..." he grunted to himself and stuffed another fistful of potato chips into his mouth before sucking the residue off each finger. Hanzi wiped his nose on the back of his hand, his gaze never leaving the princess. Hours passed while Hanzi observed her every movement. "KISS? KISS!? KILL KILL KILL!! AHAHAHA" he laughed, kicking his stubby legs back and forth in excitement. Though, even a slug would have enough sense to see that now was a bad time to go chopping up potential suitors. Hanzi would make his move later. Hanzi saw a familiar green poncho sit down next to his target "PIE.........KA!" he inhaled the stagnant air that filled his room. Picha was wanted for falsifying the death of thirteen targets in order to gain easy money from the assassin's guild. Now there was an equally hefty sum above his head as well. Hanzi giggled(http://vocaroo.com/i/s0s7OhrsDDCj), an unfair amount of good fortune had just come his way.

Zechariah noticed how Amaryllis looking up at the sky and felt it best to sit next to her, holding her hand. For a moment, the Eagle of Mercy did not even say anything. He knew how upset she was. Having her rest her head on his shoulder, he said to her, "It's okay. Everything's fine, now." He handed her the leaf from earlier.

-----

Aaron nodded when May said she just wanted to get a drink. She's got spirit, I'll give her that. At the bar, Aaron sat next to May while the bartender gave him a cold look, to which, eyes rolling, he said, "Okay, I get that I'm not exactly someone whom Benjlakk would respect. Just, pretend I'm some random person, will you?" After receiving a shrug from the man, he added, "Now, can I have a strawberry daiquiri, please? Shaken, not stirred." He paid for the drink while saying, "Keep the change."

Taking a sip, Aaron said to May, "Always had a sweet tooth. I never liked all that bitter stuff people often drink." Looking over at her, he asked, "I'll pay for your drink, is that all right?" He did not know exactly why he was offering to do it, just that he was somehow in the mood to do so.

-----

Benjamin nodded. "Yeah, I'm a soldier. Like I said, Zechariah is my younger brother" Buying four vanilla lattes, he handed one of them to the woman. "Well, Clarissa, I guess this would be a good time for a stroll? I'm headed back to Zechariah to give him one of the other lattes, and one to his girlfriend." He offered his arm to hold while they walked.

She nestled her head on his shoulder and allowing his prensence to calm her she nodded. "I hope so..." Anything else she had planned on saying disappeared as a leaf was placed on her palm. She smiled and she knew she'd savour it forever. She studied it in her palm trying to memorise every vein and she laughed a little. "There's simply too many..." She doubted Zechariah would understand her comment so she added an expiation about trying to count and memorise the veins.

Something about being there with Zach made her feel calm and safe despite knowing only too much about the dangers and evil that control this world. She gripped the leaf in her palm and hugged him. "Thank you smarty pants " She said to lighten the mood slightly. Sure it was childish but the real grown up thing about Amary was her face. Inside she had the innocence and sweetness of a six year old girl.

Her purple eyes reflected the light in pretty little white shapes which blinded out little patches of her purple Iris.

Zechariah smiled when he noticed how Amaryllis cheered up. It was quite a relief she had actually calmed down after what just happened moments before. He nodded when she mentioned counting and memorizing the veins on the leaves.

She gripped the leaf in her palm and hugged him. "Thank you smarty pants " She said to lighten the mood slightly. Sure it was childish but the real grown up thing about Amary was her face. Inside she had the innocence and sweetness of a six year old girl.

He hugged her back while saying, "You're welcome." Zechariah even pecked her on the cheek. When they let go, he decided to talk about something else, so to keep their minds off of anything troubling. "You said you read The Highwayman? I never read it, but it does sound interesting."

-----

At the conference, Saul heard a beeping sound from his communication disk. Picking it up and setting the volume on low, he played back a message from his wife, Alejandrina, which basically asked what was going on. The King chuckled to himself. Figures she'd push herself too hard. He regained his somewhat serious facial expressions In a whisper while replying with a voice message of his own, he stated, "So far, neither Metargo nor Mysticara seems to be getting anywhere. Mysticara mentioned the destruction of natural environments, I pointed out how the use of their sandworm was no different, the President mentioned the Prime Minister's retaliation attack, and it has been a diplomatic stalemate, since."

((By the way, the name Amaryllis is too long for me to keep writing on my phone so if It changes to Amary or 'she' you now know why. Sorry! oh yeah and the poem is not mine but written by Alfred Noyes, It's just a poem I am fond of and so is Amaryllis.))

Amary smiled brightly when he brought 'The Highway Man. back up and she couldn't help revise the first verse.

The wind was a torrent of darkness among the gusty trees,
The moon was a ghostly galleon tossed upon cloudy seas,
The road was a ribbon of moonlight over the purple moor,
And the highwayman came riding—
Riding—riding—
The highwayman came riding, up to the old inn-door.

The way Amary said the words they were almost beautiful despite the fact she wasn't doing anything beyond making her tone slightly more expressive to suit the poem. She seemed almost in a trance by the words but when she was done she blinked and stated how it was her favourite verse in Part One. "It's a beautiful poem the whole way through but that has to be my favourite verse." She said smiling and by the colour of her cheeks she was ever so slightly embarassed by herself. "I can't remember a lot more about it though not by heart any way. I know the plot of course! The innkeepers daughter sits in a window plaiting a dark red loveknot and then she falls in love with the Highwayman and further down the plot King George's men are trying to kill the highway man and Bess kills herself and then the Highway man is killed...Tragic but well written...On the brighter side the are chirpier poems but I can't recall many..." She said realising she'd turned the topic sad again.

"There are songs too but my normally impeccable memory is failing me..." She added after a pause of thinking. "What's your favourite poem Zechariah?" She asked looking at him with a calm but joyful smile.

Saul just finished sending his message to Alejandrina when Pygmalion spoke. There was some merit in it, but then again, there was one flaw with the proposal: What the Federation did was an act of war. The Mysticaran Council made it crystal clear beforehand they would "cleanse" Myrstrarkia of the "taint" through "any means necessary." The declaration was all over the press in each nation.

Saul decided to speak after considering the different scenarios. "The offer seems tempting, though I see one flaw: The Federation Council made it crystal clear ahead of time that Mysticara would use any means at hand to get rid of the industrial establishments within Metargo. That being said, I pose the question: How can we trust you to keep your end of the bargain? If you were so willing to use terrorism to achieve an objective, what is to stop you from causing even more damage and death through further terrorism in the future?" Shrugging, he added, "Regardless, I shall tell the Prime Ministr of the offer when I return home, then parliament will decide. Is that a fair enough response to what you propose?"

-----

Zechariah listened intently as she quoted from that poem. There was enthusiasm in her voice as she did so. She stated it was her favorite verse in Part One once she completed quoting it. The plot was quite a tragedy, from what he heard. Then he heard her ask what his favorite poem was.

Shrugging, Zechariah said, "I don't know. Although, I did read Hiawatha, once. It is another poem written before computers and technology. The protagonist is a tribal man named, of course, Hiawatha, and he was quite a bold one, too. I forget when, exactly, it was written, since information on that point in history has been kind of lost to time, long before the nations of today. I'll bet the geography was different, back then."

-----

Benjamin shrugged when Clarissa rejected holding his arm. He was not even going to respond to the part about many young women swooning over him. Ben heard the wings, again, along with a giggle from the young winged-woman. Keeping his grin on his face, he walked with her out the coffee shop, back onto Diplomacy Square, and back to where he left his brother and the princess. "Got the lattes, like I said, Zech!"

Zechariah glanced over Benjamin's direction with a small, closed-mouth grin as he was handed his latte. "Thanks, Ben."

Ben then gave one to Amaryllis. "And, one for you." The last vanilla latte, he picked up and sipped. "Nothing like a good cup of Joe on a busy day, don't you think, little brother?"

Zech shrugged. "As long as you don't take in too much caffeine from the coffee."

"True."

-----

Aaron noticed May's reaction and shrugged. I guess I should have seen that coming. taking another sip, he posed the query, "This is the first time you've been to Benjlakk, isn't it? The Eastern half of the country we are in, Fertaninn, is mostly farmers, agricultural workers, scientists, and solar technicians. People often come to this part of Benjlakk to get away from the fuss that comes with city life and politics. It is kind of comparable to Metargo's central region, Wildro, where you mostly see natural habitats."

Amaryllis was about to reply when Ben returned she cancelled it and thanked Ben gratefully and started to sip her drink. The warmth of the liquid spread through her body like wild fire and she sat there smiling before breathing out. Amary hoped the caffeine wouldn't give her ok much energy because then she did silly thighs like talking fast and embarrassing herself. She smiled at Zechariah and Ben politely as she held the warm cup in a slack but tight hold.

Trying to be polite and keep a conversation she asked Ben politely "How has your day been so far Benjamin?" She asked kindly and innocently. Amary however found her mind drifting off to stare at another random thought but she mentally kicked herself and focused her attention on Zechariah and his brother.

That's another thing about Amay her mind is a bit of a wonderer gone out of control so she has to fight to keep her attention focused. She mostly could now but sometimes she'd just fall silent lost in her thoughts for a while.

Right after Saul got finished saying his piece, he received a message from Alejandrina to not say what he just got through saying. This caused him to slap himself in the forehead while silently mouthing a curse word. You blew it, Saul.

President Anderson shook his head at what was said. "I'm rather disappointed in you, Saul. This was an opportunity to end the war, and you rejected it? Very disappointing."

Nodding to the President, the King next sent this message to the Queen, "Uh... about that, darling... well... I... I blew it." Good going, Saul... Now, she's going to push herself even harder than is healthy for her. She's doing enough of that, as it is.

-----

Benjamin shrugged. "Eh, it's been all right, unless you count the number of fights that almost broke out between Mysticaran and Metargo guests, earlier. Politics just makes things like maintaining order difficult, you know?"

Zechariah shrugged. "Yeah, patrol was a pain." He turned his gaze towards Amary. "Hopefully, you weren't given a hard time by anyone, today."

May took the drink from the bartender when he held it out to her. She took a sip of the drink, sighing softly as she looked around. She had never been here that much was true but she had been to a lot of places that she has never been to before. She was dazing off as soon as Aaron started talking. She rose an eyebrow at him in question. Oh gosh what was she supposed to say? She didn't want a complete history about it and she was still trying to figure out if he was alright or not. Mostly by the way he had been acting recently to her. Finally she just decided to act fascinated by what he was telling her. "Really? I have never been here before, in fact I haven't been to many places before. I don't really know about all of this stuff." She told his, tucking a strand of slightly frizzy hair behind her hair as she listened to what else he had to say.

Clarissa followed him to a couple. She kind of just stood there like a third wheel as they talked about something that she had no idea about. Her face showed no emotion, she focused on the couple and Benjamin before looking away and taking a small sip of her vanilla latte. She listened intently on their conversation. It was about things that concerned her and her mission. She didn't know what to do. All she could really do is stand there unless she was able to get some time to talk to the king. She needed to be able to convince him to not join any side to try and help her bring this war to an end. It was going to take a long time, that much she could tell.

Aaron took another sip as he glanced downward. "Yeah, well, I've only been here before because of our country's invasion of Benjlakk, four years ago. They repelled it within that same year." He shrugged. "But, I'm guessing going on and on about recent history would just bore you, like it would others, including me." Looking over at May, again, he decided to ask a few more questions about her. He did not know why. Perhaps, it was just to fill in the time they had before heading back to escort Saul and Amaryllis. "I wonder what motivated you to join the military? I mean... people have all sorts of reasons, good or ill."

----

Benjamin noticed how silent the winged woman was and raised an eyebrow. "You all right, Clarissa?"

He then heard footsteps from behind, silent, as if sneaking up. This alarmed and angered him, causing him to instantly pull out his pistol from his holster, point it behind him, and shout, "Freeze!"

He took note that it was a woman in revealing clothes, holding a staff. A Mysticaran. Walking slowly towards the suspect, he questioned her. "Were you sent here for some sort of assassination? If so, then your country is violating our neutrality! Identify yourself, and don't bother trying to pull anything!"

Zechariah jerked his head in Benjamin's direction the moment he heard him shout at someone. The sight of what was going on made him roll his eyes. His brother always was rather zealous when it came to the family's military lineage. "Ben, will you calm down, already?"

Benjamin did not bother moving his eyes anywhere, just focused them on the skimpy-looking woman. "Do you realize how critical securing our neutrality is, Zech? Give any warring nation an inch, and they'll be trampling all over us!"

"You're overreacting, Benjamin Amos Malachi! Put that pistol back in your holster, and that's an order!"

The older Malachi brother snarled at Zechariah. As much as Ben hated his full name being used to get his attention, he realized an order from a military officer at a higher rank than him had to be obeyed. To get back at him, though, as he put away his weapon, he answered with, "Of course, Zechariah Samuel Malachi. You always were the black sheep of the family, little brother."

Zechariah snapped with, "Out of the question!" He felt guilty, immediately, knowing that must have frightened Amaryllis, so he said to her, "Sorry about that. It's a brotherly thing, you know?" Zechariah then hugged Amary to calm her down.

-----

The poor elf was suddenly bumped into when he was about to go through the door. The woman apologized, to which he responded to, "Don't worry about it! I wasn't paying much attention, either!" She introduced herself as Oriana Aspirial. Shaking her mechanical hand, he grinned warmly. "Ah, yeah! The gal representin' Benjlakk! Nice to meet ya, too! I'm Gracchus! Gracchus Ossi!" He snapped his fingers right then, making ingredients for a specific coffee beverage appear, right then. Using his magic to help speed the process along, he made a mocha in little time, handing the glass of it to the woman. "Mocha?"

"Freeze!"

Ebele jumped a tad and put a hand over her chest and exhaled. Strange man... Ebele thought to herself and felt slightly offended by all the false accusations this man was making. Ebele tried defending herself before someone else snapped at him. Ebele stood just stood there, slouched over a tad staring at them arguing. After a few seconds of silence, Ebele finally said something in her exotic accent, "I'm sorry for being a bother. I am Ebele Spirit, part of the Natrulkra Tribal Force. Ebele smiled. "It is an honor to meet you all." Ebele turned her head to look at the angel and quickly looked away. No use speaking to her now, she must be suspicious of me as well. Ebele sighed at her thoughts and scratched the back of her head then noticed the girl sitting on the bench and quickly looked away. She is Metargo. I hope she doesn't attack...

When the meeting ended he noticed that one of the people the council had told him to babysit was not here. Because this person was a VIP to the council he had to make sure she didn’t ruin his day by getting arrested, killed, or some other thing that would get his funding cut. Before he left the meeting place he turn to one of his guards and said “Adam stay here and watch the important people I told you about, if the elf gets attacked launch the signal and I will get as many of our people out as I think is possible. If the elf attacks someone snap his neck, he's not on the list.”

Out on the street with his bee ring back (the fly ring he had destroyed when they took the rings and he had kept the AS in his pocket) and his Frankenstein bodyguard, he used some magic to find the trail of the stupid girl that he had lost when he removed his fly ring. He found the girl along with four others hearing the one in charge telling him to holster his gun. After the girl apologized he spoke up “don’t apologize you have as much right to carry your staff as he has to his gun, if he had killed you it would be an act of war, one that would require me to help you because you are on a list of VIPs to keep out of trouble Chief Spirit, I do know who you are we do check your background. What crimes did she commit that required the gun, because if you did it without cause I believe it is in my rights to ask for police or compensation for assault. Not to mention that a noble of Metargo and a high ranking officer of a supposed neutral country, we are close to a solution but this scene that I have entered into is giving me second thought. Also I dare you to challenge me about this this may be neutral territory but I am one of the highest ranking Mysticara diplomats here so try something. Ms.spirit stop giving the winged girl googly eyes either go talk to her or follow me because we have other business that you could be doing like finding the military police or someone who can take this man to jail.”
