Max sighed when Kyle asked how he was doing, "I'm bored out of my mind here. I have no idea why I'm even here much less who I should talk to."

"I'm getting a few drinks for Aaron, May , and I. Want to come with me for one, too? I hear the Benjlakki gals, especially from Fertaninn, the region we are in, are tough from working farms and solar technology, which makes for some hot figures." Kyle said afterwards.

"I guess we'll just have to see how "tough" these girls are then won't we?" Max replied with a wink as he followed Kyle to acquire something to drink. "But I'll be mighty disappointed if they don't have the face to match those hot bodies."

Zechariah, upon hearing Aza's agreement, motioned for her to follow as he walked along. He made sure she was with him, in the process. Once outside Diplomacy Square, he led her to the bakery he talked about. The interior had the aroma of home-baked goods about it. Zech saw the head baker come in and greet him while wondering why Azalea was with her.'

Zechariah answered with, "I'm giving her a tour of town."

The baker nodded and went over to the counter to take Zech's order. There was a great variety of things to choose from. The coffee seemed to have as much variety.

Zechariah spoke once he made his decision. "I think I'll have a blueberry bagel." Glancing towards Aza, he asked her, "See anything you like?"

----

Aaron smirked at the thought of May competing with him. He knew this was going to be fun. The sergeant followed May to the game mentioned and put in the coins needed foe both of them. picking up the fake pistol, he waited for her to do the same before pressing the start button. His shots were rather accurate, yet he did not always hit the bullseye, only sometimes.

----

Benjamin raised an eyebrow, since he was not sure what she was talking about. It was confusing. Either way, he said to the white-haired girl, "Sure."

----

President Anderson heard both Malinha and Oriana speak on a possible peaceful union. He knew this would not be easy, so he nodded and said to the people in conference. "We shall now take this time to take a break from the meeting. We shall continue after a bit of time has passed. I would also recommend considering what all was said earlier."

Officials, military personnel, and other people at the conference got up and began moving about. This was Gracchus' chance, which he took and walked up to Oriana with a closed-mouth grin. "You were amazing, Oriana!"

Meanwhile, Saul remained where he was and held Calida's hand. He knew this would not be an easy decision, considering what all has happened. The king could hear his own men speaking amongst themselves in confusion. Whatever would happen was a mystery.

-----

Kyle laughed softly prior to leading Max to the bar in the refreshment section. The atmosphere was pleasant enough, considering the mix of different kinds of people gathered here. Heading over to the bartender, he order a vodka, strawberry daiquiri, and a hot chocolate. With all three orders in place and paid for, he offered to pay for Max's drink, as well. Once Max received his, Kyle noticed a Benjlakki soldier in a black uniform. She was quite attractive, both in the body and in the face. Kyle nudged Max and motioned for him to look in her direction.

"Go for it."

Next came another Benjlakki soldier, whom was wearing a different uniform and had red hair. Her face radiated a kind of innocence that he found hard to resist. She's adorable! Picking up the vodka, strawberry daiquiri, and hot chocolate with a cup handler, he expressed his easygoing nature while saying to the red-head. "Well, hello there, cuteness! Aren't you looking lovely?"

Leonardo sucessfully blocked out the sounds of his father and another man talking. If he wished too, he could think back to the conversation and remember every word, but he truly did not wish to do so. He was quiet content with concentrating on Oriana in order to allow himself time to organize his thoughts. He still could not fight the feeling that he had been set up. Someone had wanted him to take a shot, and Leonardo was not sure who it was. Either it was his father or the Benjlakk government, either way, this was a prime example of why he despised politics. Dishonesty and ambition ran rampant; so far he had only met one diplomat who had the self-respect to speak plainly. Everyone was always trying to blame another, but he supposed it was easier. To blame one man instead of one nation. One idea.

The soft sounds of footsteps were not enough to get his attention, but the soft voice was. A strong, but feminine voice. Turning his head to the other occupant of the floor, he spotted the same black haired woman from before, only this time he was close enough to see everything. From the strange black fox that trotted by her side, to her perfect posture that rivaled his own, and to the most shocking thing of all, her pure white eyes. It reminded him slightly of his own hair, and they held a charm all on their own. Bringing up her name from what the Preisdent said just moments ago, Malinha Nedilo.

Leonardo kept his face passive as his mind raced. Nedilo. The chieftain who lead the forces he ambushed in his very first battle. The man he struck down in the battle... Was her father. It was odd. Leonardo had killed fathers, sons, brothers, daughters and mothers; yet the idea that he had killed this woman's father created a pang in his heart, but he pushed it down with the firm reminder that it was war. Had he not killed her father, her father would have killed him, but it still did not remove that slight ache because, in the end, he still cut down her father.

Red Prince. Leonardo forced himself not to wince at the alias. He had never minded before, but the way she spoke it; it was, well, he found it rather unpleasant. It was not a name, it sounded more like a curse. Leonardo felt the small smile tug at his lips when she spoke of people saying she stayed out of war because she was afraid of war. His own people had whispered that behind his back as well once.

Leonardo spotted the Metargo soldier who looked down in a mixture of shame and anger when she spoke about him, but he also felt her sting, but it was the truth. He would kill millions if that is what he had to do... And then she dropped the bombshell. Her plan all along, and it was an intelligent one. Use it to pave the way to peace. It was, well, it was a brilliant move. If the Metargo military seemed to eager to keep fighting they would seem bloodthirsty, well, more then they already were, and if they agreed they would lose what little land they had gained from the war.

Personally, Leonardo felt it was for the best. The stalemate had taken it's toll on the Metargo military, and they were tired. Time to rest would do wonders for morale as well as allow them time to further build up their strength to ensure they did not fail the next time, and he had not lied when he said he felt no true ill will towards Malinha's people. They were defending themselves as he would expect his own people to do. Sure, their way of life was alien and savage, but it was not enough for Leonardo to feel anything overall about them. If anything, he disliked the citizens of Benjlakk far more, with a few... No, just one exception.

Leonardo felt a spark run down his spine when his eyes met hers for the first time. Her white eyes seeming to reflect his very soul back at him, and for a second. Just a second, Leonardo felt everything about him laid bare as if his hard fought persona of the Prince no longer existed. It was a freeing yet... terrifying moment, but it was most likely merely his imagination and nothing more.

Her declaration to join the war did not frighten Leonardo, on the contrary, for some reason; it excited him, and he was not sure why. In the entire war, the only person he felt that had given him any kind of pause was whoever was pulling the strings behind their forces incredible foresight and redeployment abilities, and yet this woman made his heart miss a beat... It was odd, and he did not fail to notice. He was not Prince Leonardo. Nor simply Leonardo. He was the Red Prince to her.

Leonardo did not expect to find anything in Benjlakk... but how odd life turned out. The daughter of a slain enemy who managed to make him feel a pang of guilt, and oddly enough, excite him, and then the azure haired diplomat. The diplomat who could smile unguarded and aid in childish desires before turning around like a deadly tiger and control men and women far more powerful then she.

The azure tiger spoke once more, this time with icy determination. It seemed that she had finally found what she was looking for, but then considering what little he knew of her; this was probably the outcome she desired the most. Leonardo remained silent as she spoke, and was glad that the pressure was no longer on him, although he still felt as if someone had tried to use him as a scapegoat, but it seems that there was nothing he could do about that at the moment.

The president declared a time for a break, and Leonardo gave a single nod to show his understanding. That was for the best. Everyone needed time to think it over, and Leonardo was in no mood to aid his father in deciding because he was one of the prime suspects in setting him up to take the political bullet.

While Malinha intrigued him to no end, and he wanted to speak to her, he also did not wish to speak to her at the same time. What could he possibly say to her that would not offend her or be about their current situation? Nothing. He would not force someone to speak to the man who killed their parent. Even the Red Prince was not that cruel. No, fate decreed that they be enemies.

Turning his head, as he faintly hoped to catch Oriana in a conversation as maybe she could make him forget all of this. If only for a moment, maybe he could throw back his head and just laugh, but it seems he was a little too slow as Malinha's soldier, Gracchus, jumped to speak with her. Perhaps it was for the best because he had nothing to offer her. His desire to speak to her were incredibly selfish. She had, no doubt, a lot of work ahead of her and would not have the time to spare in speaking with a Prince just so that he could laugh again or because he simply wished to be in her company. Leonardo had long come to the terms that he would most likely marry who his father and mother wished in order to strengthen Metargo's position, and it wouldn't be right for him to harbor thoughts of anyone as it would only hurt everyone involved. He was a prince, and he was not allowed such luxuries especially if they were about another nations diplomat or... the daughter of a slain enemy.

Leonardo gave Oriana a soft smile before turning away and walking out the doors and into the fresh air. Taking a deep breath, he let it out slowly trying to regain his thoughts and composure. Politics. How he detested them. Leonardo stood besides the door, watching the crowd as he tried to enjoy the brief respite.

Ayoto Miryle

Ayoto was thinking deeply to herself as she spaced out from those pushing her until she heard something that basically threw her back into reality, "Isaac" a man said, she turned to face him, and noticed how tall he was, "jeez! He's tall" she thought knowing she was about 5'6" and she presumed he was about a foot taller than her, she looked up and smiled, "Hello Isaac. I'm Ayoto" she said throwing a nervous smile on before hearing his glass break in his hand, which diverted her attention to his bloody hand, and immediately she snapped into what her parents taught her. More like rammed down her throat. She noted the blood, "You are okay? Correct? she asked in a more natural tone, she had calmed herself as she thought of her "training" and citification as a Paramedic, she knew what to do, yet didn't act unless consented. She stepped back to see him better.

Max got his coffee and denied Kyle's offer to pay preferring as to not owe anybody even if they say it's their treat.

When Kyle pointed at a girl and said, "Go for it." He almost laughed, because Kyle obviously hadn't noticed she was talking to someone else about four inches taller than her. It would be either rude, or weird, or both for him to just pop in.

He took a sip of his coffee, leaned against a wall and watched as the younger male walked up to a different girl and start to flirt with her. It was almost cute.

He glanced back at the girl and guy just in time to see him destroy his glass. And that's when Max finally let out a small laugh. Usually when men were nervous about a girl, they didn't break glasses.

Ayoto looked at the man whom was laughing nervously, "Is something funny?" she asked looking directly into the man's eyes, "if there is, please, enlighten me so I don't snap at you for no reason." she said in a sharp tone, as she watched as he sipped coffee befire she sat between the two, since she noticed the open seat, she looked up at the drink person, "Could I get a glass of Ramune please?" she asked as the bartender nodded as he went off to get some, "I apologize if I came off cold, I am not the most comfortable in my unifourm at the moment..." she said as she saw the glass was placed in front of her, "thank you" she said smiling.

Max looked down at the girl who snapped at him. "I just found it quite adorable. He seemed either so nervous he broke the glass, or that he was having some internal struggle of holding himself back. Not that I can blame him."

He took another sip as she apologized. "What's wrong with uniform, most people are wearing theirs. I'm wearing mine, granted it doesn't look it. And plus, yours is better than most peoples."

Ayoto laughed a little, "Most people's unifourms aren't black canvas in the scorching heat." she said smiling as she blushed a bit to Max's comment, "A-and thank you" she said smiling a little, she was nervous to the point that she had the chance to emotionally shut down. Yet she stuck through it since it's the polite thing to do. She looked over, "I don't tend to find lacerations adorable... And once again, sorry for snapping at you"

Max laughed, amused by how much the girl was apologizing, "It's fine. I've once had someone get so mad at me they threw one of my own wrenches at my head. Luckily she had no aim and it only nicked my shoulder."

He put his coffee down on the counter and held out his hand, "My name's Max Nill; Primary mechanic." He introduced, figuring she'd like to know his name, and he was just used to adding his title when introducing himself.

Ayoto Miryle" she said smiling, "and don't worry, I have horrible aim when throwing, I'll throw a rock at someone, and somehow hit myself" she said smiling laughing to herself a little, It's not fun to say that, but it's true, and she's never really cared about throwing objects. Yet she did feel like something was going to happen, more like Something bad. /She had no idea what, but it was a feeling she hated. Since she knew most of the time, it was right.

"Does that mean you intend on throwing something at me, Miss. Ayoto?" Max teased, grabbing his coffee yet again.

He noticed the tense look that slightly showed on her face, and studied her for awhile. She was obviously bothered by something but hid it well. She wasn't scuffling from him, so he didn't think he'd done something wrong. But she wasn't looking around the room either, showing she wasn't scared of someone else either.
"Are you okay?" He asked finally, "You seem tense."

Oriana stood and stepped back in shock when Gracchus suddenly appeared. Blinking Oriana's eyes were wide and un-trusting as she raised an eye brow in confusion at the elf. "Thanks... I guess... Most people find my speeches..." Oriana trailed off but she heard several of the other Benjlakki politicians mutter answers like 'Terrifying, Cold, Brutal, Rude.' After shooting a glare that shut up everyone she turned back to the elf. "Thanks for the compliment but really this is politics most people would be yawning or annoyed and yet your acting like its the carnival... Though that is somewhat refreshing..."

Oriana blinked noticing that the Prince of Metargo smiled in her direction, as he left the room. Turning her head away from the Metargo's direction Oriana pulled out a small black book and began to write in it. It was mostly notes and while she wrote Oriana's mind reeled furiously trying to remember what everyone said... But more importantly she was trying to figure out what the Metargo or even her own government was up to! Speakers were always told at least a day before hand... The fact that the Prince of Metargo was not informed bugged Oriana and made her even less trusting of the Metargo government then she already was.

A tap on her shoulder made Oriana look up and away from her notes to the messenger timidly holding out a note addressed for her. Blinking confusedly Oriana took the letter thanking the messenger and quickly turning it over to read it's contents. Oriana's eyes widened and she bolted out of the room and into the hall. Not bothering to pay attention to the other politicians roaming the hall way Oriana located the large window with the view to the front of the building and looked outside. Sure enough a pudgy woman surrounded by 5 kids was waving up at her. Oriana waved back lifted the note and pointed at it before smiling and giving a thumbs up. The woman seemed to shout something probably a thank you before she turned to the kids gave them a talking to a ran off. Oriana smiled to herself hopping the meeting would end shortly... She did not wish to leave the kids out there to long... It was rather un-fortunate that she was asked today of all days to babysit the orphans but she had agreed to 'Whenever you need it just ask' Sighing Oriana ran her pale thin fingers through her blue hair. Her normally cold eyes warmed as did her smile as she watched the kids laugh and run about... She could practically hear them screaming in joy that they were going to spend the day with 'big sis Ori' she just hoped they weren't yelling that particular nickname right now... The last thing she needed was Sir.Black calling her Ori.

Calida Metargo

Calida knew that she should have been prepared for... well, what was going on in the room at the moment, and she honestly thought that she had been, but everyone's actions still took her by surprise.
Truthfully, the queen really didn't like war meetings.

While a few others in the room disagreed, Calida had thought her son's speech was wonderful. Silently in her head she was congratulating him and made a mental note to bring it up later.
As her husband Saul stood up to speak next, Calida focused on giving his words her full attention. Her thought's traveled quickly though, and in no more than a few seconds the queen found herself wondering if she would be called to speak next. Hopefully not. What did she know about persuading people? Besides, she was merely there to give support to her husband and son, not to give long, boring speeches on why Metargo deserves to be heard out.

Saul sat back down and once again Calida placed her hand in his. The moment she did so one of the Metargo soldiers shot up from his seat and began raising his voice.
Calida, at the moment, wanted to have him thrown out of the room. Luckily for not only the soldier but everyone else present, President Anderson motioned for him to sit down before Calida could do anything.

As the Head Councilor began talking, Calida did her best to not look as if she wanted to be in any other place than the one she was in at the moment. In other words, she was trying not to look bored.
She knew that what was being discussed was important, but really the queen was starting to worry where Azalea was, hopefully not getting into trouble.

Sandra sat in silence and somewhat shock during the meeting. She was surprised that the prince was called upon but evenmore so by the princes so called justifications. The security officers only continued to add to the feelings she had their outspokenness threating the meetings procedure. She listened to the others but was very interested in what the Mystrican Chieftan had proposed the thought intrigued her.

When the meeting was called to a close Sandra rose quickly and walked out of the meeting room to one of the windows. She looked out over diplomacy square with a feeling of hope wondering where these talks could lead if Benjakki could lay the foundation to restore peace to their world.

------------
Cam continued to walk outside of the city he wanted to get away from the meeting far away this was his chance to explore a new place and open hopefully a new chapter of his life. He wanted to exlpore and see the sights that Benjakki had to offer but a pain of hunger stopped these thoughts.

He turned a corner and spotted a coffee shop across the street. He walked over and up to the counter. "Cup of Tea and a muffin please." He ordered as he handed the woman his change and then took a seat outside.

Malinha was simply sitting down, when Fink jumped onto her lap and demanded to be brushed. "For a demon, you are very high maintenance, you know?" She said softly to him, 'I can not help it if I wish to be at my very best. Besides, you have not brushed me in ages.' The fox retorted, causing her to give a little smile. It was true, ever since she had accidently summoned Fink from a different plane, she had always treated him like her pet. Technically, he didn't have a gender, but she stilled called him by male pronouns. When the war had come about, she began to focus more and more on making sure things were taken care of instead of him, not that the demon minded much. When they had left for the conference, she had been in a bundle of nerves, and Fink had helped calm her down. She picked him up and kissed the top of his head, "Later tonight, I promise; a thousand brushes." And this made Fink happy.

She listened to Oriana, and she knew that she would be asked to put aside her feeling, and she nodded. 'I put my feelings aside, I am civilized.' She thought as President Anderson called for a break. She was feeling good, but when she stood up, and Fink went on her shoulder, she felt herself to wobble a bit, from the nervousness of it all. 'I wished they allowed wine in these meetings.' She thought, to which Fink said, 'Forget the wine, you need some rum.' And she agreed. Drinking was one of her vices, but it kept her in line, and she wasn't out of control.

Malinha decided that she wanted some fresh air, so she started walking towards the door. Her eyes caught the looks of people around her; Anger, confusion, even a case or two of lust, but she kept forward. She knew that it was dangerous to propose peace and keep it, but it was for the best. She walked out of the door, not knowing that her enemy, The Red Prince was also out of the door, and went outside. She looked around at the beauty and breathed deeply. It was amazing. She remembered the one time she had visited Metargo, during a time of peace and some conference or another with her father and mother. She was to stay inside all day, but she had managed to escape the nurses assigned to her room and wondered about the castle of some lord or other. They didn't have massive buildings in her country, and at the age of eleven, they seemed great. Thinking back, she knew that she wanted to visit again some day, although the idea of the electric cities intrigued her a bit. It was so foreign, but also drew her in.

Only after returning to reality did she realize who was standing at the door; Leonardo. She wanted him to leave, but knew if she simply walked away, it would undermine her whole 'forgive your enemies' speech she had given. She simple continued to look at the scenery, and not focus on the Prince. Fink, on the other hand, sensing her discomfort mixed with many other emotions didn't like it when she got like this, she was one of the only people he had trusted, and the only one allowed to hold him. He was curious about this prince, so he just stared at him, his yellow eyes going up and down, trying to figure the guy out. At one point, he put out his paw to try and touch him, but given the distance between the two, knew it was impossible, so he just continue to lay on Malinha and stare at the prince.

Zechariah paid for the bananna muffin and the blueberry bagel, which the baker brought out; with the bagel came the cream cheese. With everything paid for and received, Zech gave Azalea the muffin. He figured the conference could have an unexpected early closing at some point, though he knew the festival at Diplomacy Square would still go on. The crowd would keep the couple hidden from anyone at the hall who may be on one of the balconies. The area was that populated, at the moment. There always was a crowd in Diplomacy Square which would make it hard to spot people. Zecahaiah walked with her to the bench near the gate they saw each other at, in case Aaron, Kyle, or May were coming.

Zechariah sat down on the bench, motioning for her to do the same. The part of Diplomacy Square they were in was out of the hall's view. Even if Royalty were to be on the hall's balcony, the Eagle of Mercy and the Princess of Metargo would not be seen by them. He smiled his gentle smile and said, "The District of Justicra has blended elements of cultures worldwide and throughout Benjlakk because of all the visitors we get to Diplomacy Square each time peace talks are opened in this country. Other communities have a mix of international tastes, as well, due to immigrants that came in the past."

His eyes now focused on the floor, he added, "Such a mix of people from around the world resulted in Benjlakk being aware of problems abroad we would not have known, otherwise, which reinforces our neutrality in wars. Charities and scientists can't exactly help people from nations we fight against." Gazing into Aza's eyes, Zechariah laughed a little with his mouth closed. "Okay, so I'm a smarty-pants."

The sound which told competitors it was half time indicated it was time to switch out the clips to the fake pistols. Aaron did that with the speed a highly trained soldier would do it before shooting again. This time, his shots were faster to the point where he could not tell whether he hit the bullseye or not. At the end, both he and May were tied for first, and Aaron was even more surpised when he saw their scores exactly like the high score set by Zechariah, whom has participated in the game in the past. The person in charge of the game gave both Aaron and May the prize of the day, tokens with images of landscapes within Fertaninn. Aaron shrugged at receiving his token, as he was just trying not to be bored. Now that he thought about it, where was Kyle?

"Kyle may be flirting with somebody at the refreshment section. I guess we better meet him there, May."

-----

Kyle was inwardly fantasizing when he saw the blush on Catrina's face, yet he did not show it. instead, he kept his cool and shrugged with, "Eh, nothing, really, I just feel like talkin'." The perverted soldier winked before asking, "So, beautiful, we might as well know each other's names, right? I'm Kyle, and you are?"

-----

Gracchus raised an eyebrow in confusion. Just what was a carnival? Before he could ask, Oriana was already out in the hallway. He walked out and eventually saw her glancing out the window. He decided to stand next to her to see what she was looking at with such a smile. Are they her children, or that woman's? It made him wonder if Oriana had a husband or boyfriend, which he hoped not. Realizing he still had the mocha he made in his hand, he stored it in his compartment via a spell. On the bright side, if she is single and those children were often around her, then there is a gentle side to her. His ears caught on to some of the outdoor screams due to his excellent hearing in comparison to that of a human's. Big Sis, they say? He did not catch the whole nickname, yet what he did hear made him grin gently.

The young Chieftain watched as people passed the building in which the very fate of three nations could be decided. She tore herself away from the forests of the city, and watched people as they passed; lovers, parents with children, being alone, and those with animals. They were oblivious to all the this very building held, while it was most likely true that they knew of the gathering, the working in it were a mystery. They had zero idea, but the outcomes of this meeting would effect them. That hit with her, people being effected by things out of their control. In her country, people were free to do as they pleased; visit their chieftain for help or advice, move away with the farmers daughter, it was up to them. The Chieftains controlled some aspects, but for the most part, life was free in Mysticara.

From her deep thought, she returned to the present moment, where in she was standing on a balcony with, militarily speaking, her worst enemy. She had gleamed a ton of information about the prince from her spies, it was a slight obsession. She had day dreamed about a battle in which she would lead the charge, and after a long battle, she would catch the man responsible for killing her father, after which she would confront with his crimes, and after pleading for his life, she would kill in the most heinous way possible. She learned of his upbringing, his lessons, his favorite meals, and even his nickname growing up, Silk Princess. Upon seeing him for the first time, she understood how the name could have came to be, but didn't enjoy the fact that he most likely knew about the name. If she had been constantly been put under scrutiny, she may even have gone the route of him; fighting his father's war, a gentle spirit caught in a battle that had lasted centuries.

She knew what Fink was trying to do, and she didn't blame him, the man was curious. Fink was silent about his emotions, leaving her without knowing how to proceed, most likely the foxes pay back for not brushing him often. She put her arms at her side, still faced away from Leonardo, and began to talk in a voice that was half firm/half filled with emotions.

"I spoke as a child; foolish, brash, and callow. I spoke as a young man; foolhardy, assured, and resentful. I speak now as an old man; His past laid before him, the images of past wrong put before me as a test of life, and pained for all those I have touched. I grew to understand that mine enemies were always those who oppose me, but as the spring's and winter's of life leave me a hollow cast of whom I once was, I now see that mine enemies were those who seeked to use me as a weapon for their own gains. I pray that the gods are able to see past my foolishness, but know that such wishes are to never be." She quoted directly from Alexander Fertogy's The Once and Future life of Seamus, a very old book. It was a book that most of the public found to be boring and full of gibberish, but those who were read that particular section found to be always true, someone was always trying to manipulate you into doing something you know is wrong, under the guise of wisdom and authority.

She then turned from her place, to face the prince head on, but made no effort to get any closer to him. Fink just looked at him, and she as spoke, laid down between them, "I do not hate you, Prince Leonardo. I should, with all my reason and emotions, I should want you dead, but I can not say that killing you would bring me joy. Momentary pleasure, most likely; joy, no. I believe I can figure out why I feel this way; it is because if placed into your shoes, with the same upbringing, I can't say that I would not make the same choices you have made." She relaxed her shoulders, as talking directly to him made her tense up, she took a breath before beginning again, "I do not believe in Fate, a claim that shocks my fellows, but I do not. I believe that the reason e find ourselves in this place is not because of predetermined path, but rather the choices we make. The choices we have made have pitted us as enemies, but I would like to believe that we can change that. That is what I believe." She finished, and then cast her eyes to look into his, not hard, but rather as an acquaintance would do to another.

Leonardo nearly jumped out of his skin when she spoke. He had just gotten himself to, relatively, relax. He was not even sure if he had heard her correctly as his mind was still trying to connect just what had happen. Malinha had spoken, and of all the things she could have said; he never expected that. He had half expected it to remain silent, and if she did spoke, he assumed it would be barbed words or, perhaps, she would damn him for killing her father. Not to hear her recite a powerful quote with a voice tinged with emotion and conviction.

When she turned to face him; he met her eyes despite the feeling that she was peering into his soul. She did not hate him? The Red Prince? Deep down, he felt it was a lie. Even should he desire to believe it, which he did, life wasn't like that. Belief that their current standings and relation could change, but could it really? He still killed her father that would never change. How could she look at him and say that? Say that she didn't want him to die? How? Was it to ensure that the peace between their nations went well? Was it to make him lower his guard?

"You." Leonardo started before his voice faltered, "You are a better person than I." Which according to many people in the assembly behind them was not too hard to be. "If we were in each others shoes. I would do everything in my power to destroy you and take away everything you love." Not that he hadn't probably already done that.

"I wish such things could happen that you and I would not be enemies." Leonardo said turning his head to face the crowd, "And I do not know why you say this. Not after all that has happen, will happen, or may happen, but.."

"Thank you." He whispered. He wanted to point out that he noticed that she had not called him the Red Prince, but chose not to. Sadly, should the peace talks fail; Leonardo would still continue in his war efforts, and there was a good chance he would meet her on the battlefield, and he would have to kill her, or she would slay him because it was their duty.

Malinha continued her gaze on Leonardo, and his struggle for words. Fink was still laying between them, and still silent to Malinha, but enjoying the many different emotions coming off the two, making him slightly dizzy, but laid on the floor, watching the people. She watched him try and find words, a most predictable way to respond to her, after all, why would an enemy suddenly seem to forgive them after the crimes they committed? Then again, he had not known Malinha and what went on in her mind.

"You. You are a better person than I." He said, which made her scoff a bit in her head. Considering the tactics she had used, she had committed as many, if not more, crimes against countries than him, albeit quieter. Her gaze continued. "If we were in each others shoes. I would do everything in my power to destroy you and take away everything you love.". With that, she felt something inside her chest break almost, well not break, so much as fill with emotion. It felt like she had been stabbed, but at the same time almost reassuring, she couldn't tell the emotion to save her life, and Fink watched in confusion at the emotion around her.

"I wish such things could happen that you and I would not be enemies. And I do not know why you say this. Not after all that has happen, will happen, or may happen, but.." His voice dropped off, and then continued in a soft tone only audible to her, "Thank you." She was truly confused at the Prince. According to his military history, he was a man with no conscience, but with his gathered history he was a sensitive soul who loved to read. He was thankful for the absolution, although she wasn't clear why. She knew that he would continue his march if peace didn't work, so his reasons for thanking her were odd. "This boy has a lot in his head." The Fox told her, which she had already guessed.

She looked into the crowd as well as she began to talk, "The peace between our people, and even us is possible Leonardo, it is." She said softly, before turning to face him once more. "You claim to not know why I am saying these things to you, things that any other person wouldn't say if their life held in the balance? I say these things because you and I are the same. We are both children raised not as children, but raised because of body and mind. I have more natural magical ability than anyone seen in a long time, if I were a student at a college, I could challenge the arch-mage and win. I was raised around teachers, always another lesson, always another spell to learn. My mother tried her best to mother me, but my father, gods rest him, would always want me to become better. I spend my childhood surrounded by books and old men. The few times I interacted with others was in a controlled setting, and I would always try and run."

"You, on the other hand," She paused, trying to gather her words properly. "By looking at your father, one would expect his son to be strong in body, but not you. You are lithe, graceful, and keen on words; traits highly valued in a female. I say this not out of bitterness or wrath, but I can tell you had a difficult childhood as well. Your father making sure that no one could break you, and you grew to crave his approval, am I correct?"

She continued, without waiting for a response, "We are the same; children raised for their father's guilt or praise. And that is why I do not wish to kill you. Because together, I know that we may lead the world into a peace, and no longer be held in our father's grasps. And if we are the same, then I know you are strong enough to break from him, and join on the side of peace." She ended, her eyes soft on the man, hoping that she had at least cracked a little into his wall.

Oriana was smiling when she suddenly noticed someone standing next to her. Blinking Oriana too a step back in shock. "Bloody hell! Stop just... Appearing! Your going to give me a heart attack and I'm too young for one of those!" But despite her protests Oriana found herself smiling blushing and shaking her head all at the same time. Sighing Oriana looked back outside and smiled once again her features becoming soft. "There not mine by the way... There orphans... I live upstairs from them and often look over them when the caretaker has to go... And no I am not a mind reader... But most people ask me eventually why I have children tackling me so you know..." Oriana blinked finally noticing that the elf had been following her for awhile now. Frowning Oriana turned to face him. "Why do you continue to seek me out? Most people avoid me or just try to subtly insult me behind my back... So spill it Gracchus what can I Oriana Aspiral do for you?" Oriana huffed her glare returning full force as she crossed her arms and stared Gracchus in the eyes as she narrowed her own her eyes and expression becoming like a wall of ice.

Gracchus flinched from Oriana shouting. Didn't she know elves have sensitive ears which could go deaf from too much noise being so close to them? Upon hearing that the children were orphans, he finally understood. It even made his heart skip a beat a the thought of there being two sides to her personality. Alas, his mood altered from glad to an obvious nervousness. Oh, no... Not that... Got to think of something, and fast...

His smile was more timid than genuine, his heart racing faster and faster until he felt it could explode. Granted, he survived a few battles against the most relentless of generals he had to fight, yet nothing could prepare him for this. "Uh... w-well..." His face turned five shades of red as he attempted to reason it out, yet could not unveil what he wanted to state. "Y-you see... I-it's one of those... I-I mean, well..." His timid smile faded while it was replaced with one which uncovered a shyness which is fairly common for someone with a crush on another. "I... I..."

Eventually, after more stuttering, the leader of the Natrulkra Tribal Force Green Golem Riders slapped himself in the face prior to exclaiming, "Pull yourself together, Gracchus! Just say it, already!" From there, he sort of fidgeted with his fingers while he glanced downwards as he tried again. At this point, his face went neon red. "You know, it..." He halted himself with a face palm. "No, that's not the way to mention it..." Gracchus took a deep breath before beginning his next attempt. "You see, I..." Shaking his head furiously, he became frustrated with how long it had taken, so far, to convey his feelings. It eventually reached the point where he clenched his fists while he accidentally spoke his thoughts out loud with an angry, "Oh, is it really that hard to admit your feelings for her?"

Gracchus covered his mouth the instant he let that slip. Oh, now you've done it! His eyes expressing every sign of worriment, he did not know what could happen next. Either way, judging from the look she gave him, earlier, this would not end well.

Leonardo turned his head back to her to listen. "The peace between our people, and even us is possible Leonardo, it is." Was it? Was it truly? The peace they were aiming for seemed to be nothing but the time between wars. They would have 'peace' for a few years, maybe, a decade, but then they would be fighting once more. Was that truly peace? And what of them? He supposed living so far apart of each other would help them stay civilized, but should they have to be in each others company for long periods of time, could she keep her mind clear? Why? What made her say this to him? Why did she wish to make a connection?

"You claim to not know why I am saying these things to you, things that any other person wouldn't say if their life held in the balance? I say these things because you and I are the same. We are both children raised not as children, but raised because of body and mind. I have more natural magical ability than anyone seen in a long time, if I were a student at a college, I could challenge the arch-mage and win. I was raised around teachers, always another lesson, always another spell to learn. My mother tried her best to mother me, but my father, gods rest him, would always want me to become better. I spend my childhood surrounded by books and old men. The few times I interacted with others was in a controlled setting, and I would always try and run." The same? It was an odd. Raised for body and mind? Yes, he understood her meaning. They were not allowed to play and frolic as other children. Every day was another lesson, another sparring session to turn the delicate silk princess into a warrior. The closest he had ever come to truly playing was when he sat with his mother and talked. Games were unfit for a prince, or so his caretakers would say.

She tried to run though. That difference between them. Leonardo had never tried to escape his life, he would day-dream as he watched the maids children running and playing in the kitchens or as he watched people living their lives when he peeked outside the windows, but he had never tried to run away. Being a Prince was who he was, and it was all he was. Even as a child that lesson had stuck with him, 'You are a Prince before you are Leonardo'. An average life was never going to be his, but it did not help the envy he felt towards the common people. The people who did not have to worry about anything besides the ones they cared about. He envied them as he envied the common soldiers.

Traits highly valued in a female. Leonardo felt the corner of his lip lift at the mention of that. Despite her assurance that she said it without ill intent; it still stung. It always did. The constant reminder of what he was. A, as she put it: lithe, graceful, and keen on words. He was going to respond, but she kept going.

"We are the same; children raised for their father's guilt or praise. And that is why a do not wish to kill you. Because together, I know that we may lead the world into a peace, and no longer be held in our father's grasps. And if we are the same, then I know you are strong enough to break from him, and join on the side of peace."

"I," Leonardo began as he moved forward to lean on the edge of the balcony, "Was never raised by my father." He tore his gaze away from her to cast them over the town, "Nor have I ever been in his grasp. Maybe, a long time ago, I craved to be given attention. To be treated as a son instead of being handed off to nurse-maids and mentors as something barely worth mentioning, I joined the war because of my people. Not because of my father." Silk Princess. Yes, that was the reason.

"The most time I have ever spent with my father is when he is condemning my actions." He mused, "I see his attempts now at trying to reconcile, but I have no desire to do that. Why should he be able to remove the black stain on his, otherwise, impeccable history? Perhaps he fears people will look at him and believe that it was his influence that created the dreaded Red Prince." He said pausing, "But yes, I was also raised as you were. To be who we were born to be. I never tried to run though. Maybe I lacked courage, but I believe its because life any other way was alien."

Leonardo inter-wove his fingers, "I understand your desire for peace, but it will end eventually." He said, his hair starting to slip lose from its tie in the bottom and float in the wind, "The peace our world knows is merely a time between wars. Eventually, we will fight again." Assuming this cease-fire worked, of course. "Is this okay? The endless loop of fighting, bloodshed, and then a short intermission?" He asked, almost to himself.

Turning his gold-tinted eyes back to her, he bowed his head slightly, "I am sorry, it seems I have gotten a little off topic." He returned his gaze to the city, "Red Prince." He said, "You know what they call me in my own land? Silk Princess."

He tugged at the hem of his red silk robes, "Fitting isn't it?" He didn't wait for a response, "Red Prince. Silk Princess. It doesn't matter. I am a Prince." Standing and stepping away from the balcony's edge, he turned to her, "I am sorry, Malinha Nedilo, but rather it be Red or Silk, I will always be the Prince of Metargo, and I must always put the greater good of my people above all else. Above my own feelings and desires, above even peace, and so I cannot join you in anything for there may come a day when war with your nation is the only way to guarantee the survival of my own, and I cannot allow anything to interfere with my duty."

Yes, it was why he tried to create barriers as he was doing now to Malinha. It was why he did not move to speak to Oriana and, instead, allowed the elf to move in. Leonardo was no fool, he knew what the elf intended, but there was nothing he could offer anyone not Malinha and not Oriana. The luxury of being a prince was a great illusion to hide the chains.

Malinha stood with her hands at her sides as she listened to Leonardo talk, which seemed to become a battle between the two; two forces that would neither cease or desist without the other giving up their position. It was a conversation that she had never imagined herself having with this man in this place.

"I was never raised by my father." He said which made her think that her tactic had failed, but then he began to talk again, "Nor have I ever been in his grasp. Maybe, a long time ago, I craved to be given attention. To be treated as a son instead of being handed off to nurse-maids and mentors as something barely worth mentioning, I joined the war because of my people. Not because of my father.". When he said this, she knew that she had managed to hit something, and kept her expression of calmness, and Fink had turned to her, sensing her sudden return of energy. "The most time I have ever spent with my father is when he is condemning my actions. I see his attempts now at trying to reconcile, but I have no desire to do that. Why should he be able to remove the black stain on his, otherwise, impeccable history? Perhaps he fears people will look at him and believe that it was his influence that created the dreaded Red Prince. But yes, I was also raised as you were. To be who we were born to be. I never tried to run though. Maybe I lacked courage, but I believe its because life any other way was alien." Malinha enjoyed all of the insight he gave her. While her reports told her about the physical happenings going around them, she was never privy to the emotional ones, which according to his voice and the way Fink was looking at him was a mixed with shame being present.

When he stated that her desire for peace would eventually end, she had to stop herself from responding. She faced criticisms like this from her people, always claiming that her desire for peace was hurting them overall. It always hurt her, but she always said she never wished for a temporary peace, but rather a permanent one. When he gave his nickname as Silk Princess, she knew she had hit something. That name was a huge point of shame for him, and for him to tell his enemy about that was a sign that she was making progress, even if he was unawake of it. He finished by stating that no matter what he wished, he had to remain loyal to his people.

"You claim that you do what you do under your banner of Red Prince for the good of your people, that not agreeing to peace gives a better chance that mine will not retaliate. This claim is false." She looked him dead in the eyes as she stated this. "The greater thing for your people is go help with a peace that will not last a few years, but one that will last for centuries. You claim you do not wish a peace because I will not last. Do you not live, even though death is inescapable? I live my life the best I can, but know that I can not while thousands of young men and women die fighting." She paused for a second, facing the forest once again, catching her breath before returning to him.

"Your name that you were called; Silk Princess? This name is a title that the weak minded bestow upon one who is different." She said, and had she not felt the pain that he had brought to her, she would have reached out and touched him, as a sign of understanding or friendship. "My fellow chieftains call me The Sugar Chief, due to my standing of peace, but their true meaning in it is that I will melt away when the rain comes.I dare not think of what my people call me for my inaction. A Chieftain not leading her tribe into battle, unthinkable. I am sure some who claim my head to be taken off." She brought her hands to twine together, much like Leonardo's. "And you claim that because one day that the destruction of my people will be needed to insure the survival of yours. That is claiming to never try and eat outdoors because of the chance it will rain."

"Leonardo, we both wish the same thing; what is best for our people. Let me tell you, I have read every book in my library, and I find something is common in them; The good guy always takes out the bad guy. That is sound logic in a book where good and evil are clearly defined, but in real life, we must make compromises to ensure that the destruction does not befall on us. Your duty is to protect your people, mine is to protect mine. Can we not both fulfill our duty at the same time?"

She turned to the forest once again, before returning to him. Fink was simply enjoying watching these two go at it. They were like two lone kings stuck on a chess board, never able to beat the other, but always moving and trying to catch the other. He always did love to see her when she was arguing a point, the feeling around her got very strong, and that lead him to feel better as well, and this Prince had the same effect, which caused his interest to be piqued.

Leonardo was going to shake his head and say that she misunderstood him, but he stopped as she had more to say. "Your name that you were called; Silk Princess? This name is a title that the weak minded bestow upon one who is different." Despite the fact that she was merely referencing the name it stung. He had longed ago decided that he would merely accept the name and make it his own; it was why he wore Silks in the first place. Make your weakness into your strength, but for some reason, whenever Malinha called him by any name save for his own. It stung.

"My fellow chieftains call me The Sugar Chief, due to my standing of peace, but their true meaning in it is that I will melt away when the rain comes.I dare not think of what my people call me for my inaction. A Chieftain not leading her tribe into battle, unthinkable. I am sure some who claim my head to be taken off." Sugar Chief? Leonardo kept his face passive even though he was contemplating the name. Sugar Chief, it fit. Especially if he considered her eyes.

With her rebuttal at its end, Leonardo smiled, "I fear you misunderstood me, this peace you are seeking. I agree with it; however, I merely see it as nothing more then a temporary truce. Both our nations are tired and need time to rest and recover from this latest war, but I do not believe it will last. I do not say this out of fear of the rain, but out of assertion that the rain will come." He said, "It is why I carry an umbrella when I go out on picnics.." He stopped when he realized that she might now know what that was, "An umbrella is a large," He stopped trying to find the right word, "Shield, of sorts, held up by a handle. It blocks out the rain."

"Anyways." Leonardo said returning to the topic at hand, "These peace talks always have such hopes. Of building a lasting peace, but they never do." He stopped and closed his eyes for a second, "The cruel truth of our world is that there will always be powerful men sending others to fight and die for them. That will never change as long as we retain our humanity. There will always be powerful men leading others, and so how do we stop the cycle? Can we?"

He took a deep breath, "I cannot put my faith in maybes. Or what ifs. I do not have that luxury. I wish I could believe in your 'peace' as you do. But I do not. I know our nations will fight again. I know blood will continue to spill until one, or both, of our nations are gone from this world. Unless you know of another way to guarantee that our people never fight again."

Leonardo gazed out across the forest and the city, "If this where a book of dreaded Monsters and noble Heroes, I would be the monster." He said evenly, "I am glad, that our life is not as a book or something that is being written by others as I would hate to have to be slain by the noble hero who goes off to promote his philosophy of peace and love. Or perhaps heroine in this case." He admitted and smiled, "Perhaps the book can be called: The Waltz of Silk and Sugar." He was about to mention the waltz was a dance popular in Metargo, but decided against it.
