Personality

Kai himself is very self-reliant. He prefers not to rely on others unless he absolutely as to. He also will speak his mind, when he does speak, with no regard to manners or ethics. For the most part he seems very withdrawn and distant. He is very cautious to others, but once he finds he can trust you he will give his life for you. Betray his trust and it very well may be the last thing you do. Kai is well known amongst his people to use his head before his blade. Through use of cunning, he has turned the tides of battles and wars with minimal casualties.

Due to his preferred style of combat, Kai will stand off in the background and act more slowly while using his cunning and intelligence to manipulate battles into his favor.. However don't be mistaken, for Kai is very agile and is more than capable in short range combat.

A pair of gloves, the left one is without the fingertips. They are most commonly used by rangers and hunters to protect their palms and still allow a good grip on their archery weapons.

Just a common tunic that is used by archers and the like. However Kai's is fitted with extra leather padding along his left arm to help protect it while using his bows.

Pants: Achim Braccae

A style of Braccae designed by Kai's family centuries ago. The right leg goes down to the shin, while the left side stops just above the knee. Kai has added extra leather padding on the right side and on the knees. This helps protect his legs and knees when in a kneeling position.

These boots are designed to minimize noise levels when hunting. Their extra soft soles help cut down the noises made when walking through any type of terrain.

Kai uses this when an enemy get too close to him. When not being used it is in his Dermasteel sheath, attached to his left hip.

A pair of gloves made from chain links of Dermasteel. Just like his Hunter's Gloves, Kai has removed the fingertips on the left gauntlet to allow better handling of his archery weapons.

Designed with the same basic principles of Kai's normal braccae. However instead of leather, this pair is fitted with Dermasteel.

Greaves fashioned of Dermasteel. Considering it is metal, this pair is still exceptionally quiet. There is also a bit of a spike at the toe for kicking foes and obstacles.

Accessory: Dermasteal Spaulder

Kai uses this to further protect his left arm while using his bow. This spaulder extends from above his head down to his forearm. It is also attached in such a way to allow free range of motion on his left side.

Kai comes from a long line of master archers and hunters. As part of his training when growing up, Kai was often taken away from his home while he slept and dumped somewhere in the forest. This was done as a training exercise to see if Kai could follow the sounds and sights around him to lead him back home. As he grew older his father began having him drugged and he was dragged even further away from home, sometimes several weeks worth of a journey on foot. Do to this bizarre training method, Kai has learned to become self reliant and, because of it, is pretty suspicious of those around him.

Kai comes from a family that has always had a lot of wealth. Centuries ago his family created a style of braccae that matched no other, and yet also greatly benefited the family. His family also invented a knew style of metallurgy which lead to the invention of Dermasteel. Dermasteel is a lightweight, flexible, yet strong metal. It is flexible enough to be used in place of hard woods for bows ad yet strong enough to be used for heavy infantry fighting.

Through his families ties and wealth he has become a Marquis of a small city-state, called Szana. However due to his family estate being so far out of the central of the town, very few recognize him as the Marquis when he isn't in the capital building. Himself being covered in mud from long periods of hunting is usually the main reason.

Through his training to become a hunter, Kai has learned various survival techniques. He has learned how to obtain water, even in the harshest of climates. He has also learned to be very patient and cool headed when dealing with strenuous situations. Through years of practice he has mastered the art of marksmanship and archery. However he personally prefers archery over marksmanship, viewing it more honorable as well as stealthy. Some of the tracking techniques passed down from his father include being able to read the heavens to determine where one is going, how to find subtle hints as to how your prey has moved, and how to determine what is and isn't poisonous.

As a Marquis, Kai has learned to trust his advisers to give him details and facts along with their opinions. However as a tracker and hunter he has learned to detect the subtle changes in a person's demeanor and expression. Using both of these methods he has become a well respected leader, with his people's full confidence. He, himself, would often times go into the heart of battle with his men. He has also been known to be the messenger for himself, unbeknownst to those receiving the message.

Recently he lead his men into battle against a vampire warlord and his undead armies. His country allied themselves with the warlord's slaves in a rebellion against him, for their freedom. Through his, and that of allies', cunning they managed to defeat the lord's armies within a single night and minimize their own casualties. Within a week, Kai and his remaining men, having only lost 46 out of 831 men, returned home in victory. Not only had they slain the evil warlord and his undead armies, they had also gained new allies and trading partners.
