Job: Laura worked Part-Time in McDonalds, as well as Baby-Sitting, and busking in the Subway. She now works in the Cafe, and will sometimes perform there.
Personality: Laura is nice, when she tries to be, which is, if I'm honest, not often. As far as Laura is concerned, she has given up on the human race, and sees no point in trying to be friendly with those she neither knows nor likes. The only time you will see her being kind is when she is working, and even then uses sarcasm alot, and the smile plastered on her face is obviously a forced one.
She is definitely one of those girls that we all secretly hate -- the one that will be talking happily to you one minute, talking behindour back the next. This is partly because she is so sensitive, and her mood swings are unpredictable - the smallest thing can turn into a lare fight with her - and it is also because she tries to hard to fit in. If there is one thing Laura hates, it is being embarrassed, and if there is one thing that Laura lves, is being in the popular group. Evenif that means pretending to hate someone, when you don't. You do what it takes, right?
You do not want to go near this girl when she is in a bad-mood. She is even worse than normal, which you, if you have read up to this point, know is shit. AKA -- Stand back! Laura tends to snap at anyone who talks to her, and prepare for a few glares and eye rolls coming you way. She will sometimes - seldom, but still sometimes - use violence, depending on why she is mad. And for a small girl, she is surprisingly strong.
Laura is a very good actress, and has performed in numerous school plays and the like, which helps with hr lying skills, which we all know can come in handy. Laura can almost always make up a convincing lie in seconds, presumably from years of practise.
Bio: Laura Stella O'Connor was born on December 4th to Isabella O'Connor and Stanley Cox -- on a bus. Yes, Laura was brought into this world on a red bus that smelt of something between feet and dried piss. They were sitting on the top of the bus, and Laura used to chuckle about the how the people walking along the road would have possibly heard her mother's groans. She wondered what they thought was happening.
When her mother arrived home to the apartment, the first thing that her mother did was drop her. Typical, really. Her mother had only been eighteen years old at the time, and was stupidly wearing eight inch heels whilst carrying a new born baby. She fortunately landed on the sofa, though they still of course went back to the hospital to make sure she was fine, as we all know how delicate babies are. Basically, her mother was just preparing to sit down on the sofa with her new born child -- who actually still hadn't been named at this time, the pair had been hoping for a baby boy to call Corey -- when she slipped on her heel, landing on her butt on the couch while her daughter landed beside her with a thump. Isabella, still stunned, just sat there for a second as she blinked in confusion, while her boyfriend Stanley rushed over to Laura and picked the crying baby in an attempt to sooth her.
Stanley stayed for two months after Laura was born, and it seemed to go downhill from there. He left the family, whilst Isabella was still in High School, with no job. Not to mention the fact he took most of the money. It seemed the only thing he did leave Isabella was a broken heart.
When Isabella was twenty, she got a job as a waitress in a fancy restaurant. It wasn't that much, but it was enough money to get their own apartment. Laura was two at the time, and Isabella wanted a better home for her daughter than that dump.
At first, the house was a mess, with the rats, and broken windows. But after a little - or a lot - of home rearrangements, the house was livable. They have stayed their ever since.
Laura was a star growing up. She was pretty much the child everyone envied in Elementary school - the popular one that could talk to the boys, the pretty one that always had perfect hair, the smart one that always got top of the class and the school performer, which included singing and dancig. Whilst the other children wished they could be her, she wished she could be them. Her father hadn't been in contact for years - ever since Laura was a baby - and her mother, who had now gotten a job as an accountant, never had any time to help her. The real reason she was so talented was because she treid harder than the other kids, too busy trying to impress her Mum, to get any form of praise. At the age of seven, Laura was expected to do her own homework, and mind herself for hours on a time.
When Laura was thirteen, she got a new baby sister, Tanya, and her mother went on Maternity leave. Laura, at first, was delighted, as it was finally a chance to spend quality time with her mother. Unfortunately, she was too preoccupied with the new child, who they called Lucy. However, Lucy didn't last long. When her mother was out at work one day, Laura did something horrile while she was minding her sister. She killed her.
"What are you doing?" Lucy asked, as she stood up from where she was sitting in her bedroom, colouring. Her sister, Laura, was lying on the ground beside the stairs, drawing something. As soon as she heard Lucy coming, however, she looked up from her picture to glare at her four year old sister. For some reason, Laura had always acted very hostile towards Lucy, though she had no idea what she had done to deserve it.
"Drawing," Laura muttered, looking back down at the picture. Lucy glanced over her sister's shoulder to see the picture of a face, a very sad and grim looking one at that. The whole picture was in black and white, and even though Laura was obviously a pretty good artist, it made Lucy want to cry. It was filled with so much sorrow.
"Go away!" Laura moaned, when she sa her sister sneaking a peek at the drawing. She sat up onto her knees and pushed her little sister away from her. Not a hard push, but enight o make her stumble backwards. Lara watched in horror as the four year old toppled down the stiars, cracking her head at the bottom. Her eyes looked glassy, like marbles, and she had no life inher usually cheerful body.
Laura stood up frantically, her mouth shaped like a wide O. After deleting any evidence that she was at the top of the stairs, and a few more minutes for her to calm down, Laura rang the police, then her parents.
"Hello, this is Laura O'Connor. Fifth Avenue. Yes, my sister just fell down the stairs."
Her life hadn't been going very well before that. Laura's best friend, Chelsea, commited suicide the year before, making Laura cut herself. But now -- Laura's life turned upside down. Which is why she ended up here.
