"Hi, you have a hair on your shoulder, do you mind if I get it? Sorry I'm sort of OCD about that kind of thing," she smiled. The man's strumming made her want to burst out into song. Weird she thought I haven't sung in the longest time... why ever not?
She had a quick shower before getting dressed into some shorts with tights, a plain white t-shirt with a shirt and a beanie. After making herself presentable with make-up, Laura rushed out of the house. She didn't have time for breakfast, and besides, she could grab something on the cafe.
She arrived at the cafe, and took a deep breath before entering. Already people had arrived, not like she expected any less. Benny and Aiko were serving a gorgeous red headed boy, though why they both needed to serve him, she had no idea. Someone was playing music on a guitar, and Sandy was talking to him.
"-name is Hadden...." Laura heard Aiko say quietly, obviously referring to the red headed man. "Oh gosh.... I'm an idiot.... I didn't give him my name....." Laura grinned and rolled her eyes. Did that mean Aiko liked someone? But Aiko was so quiet!
Laura grabbed a bun from the display counter, diving into it as she walked into the back. This was her breakfast, after all, and she was starving. After checking herself in the mirror, Laura walked out again, giving a smile to Benny and Aiko as she did so.
She walked over to where the boy the two had referred to as Hadden sat, but walked past him, grabbing a chair from a nearby table. She placed it beside Hadden's table, and sat down.
"Two people in there are talking about you," Laura said, indicating with her thumb towards the kitchen. "Seems you made quite an impression." She raised an eyebrow at him, and gave him a glance up and down, pretending to be unimpressed. "You're Hayden, right?" she had purposely misprounounced his name, and as she waited for his answer, she drummed her black, painted nails on the table.
He wouldn't like you either way. Better to not start some dumb drama. She thought as she quickly got back to work.
Your too weird and silent... And get flustered easily... Just forget about him. She thought as she quickly washed her hands and got back to work.

Maxi walked in plain shirt and pencil skirt her hair up in a high bun curls at her face she had a bowl of candid lollipops and face covered in what seemed sugar and flour. A smile on her face as she decorated the bowl listening to he new employees gawk over a plain looki g man to her."not that cute and a guitar...please.."
"Sure"
He then heard Millie's statement with the flirts between customer and employees than watched as she walked back. It did make him chuckle slightly and said "Thanks!" so at least she would hear. He found the rule rather funny if not attractive but understood the reasons behind it. Distractions could cause problems. It did make Kaguya wonder if his order was being placed unless forgotten. Kaguya then continued strumming his guitar after giving his thanks and looked out the window. His eyes then closed hoping his order would come soon. He was never one with too much words but he did somewhat appreciate how kind people were plus he couldn't hold anyone up at his table. Kaguya facial expression seemed to go back to being straight. As he played he began to wonder what would be on his agenda, He really didn't have a gig until tomorrow night.
"maybe I'll go to the beach..." he said softly under his breath.
Hadden put the money he owed on the table and scooted out of the booth. Hiding inside the bills was the napkin he had drawn on of the shy waitress and underneath the portrait was a phone number. Hadden made sure the red head wouldn't see it or else it would never reach its destination. "See ya later ginger." he said walking away.
He stopped by the guy who was playing the music and flipped a coin on the table. "Sorry man, that's all I have. Keep it up." Then turning towards the kitchen he cupped his hand by his mouth and called out, "Catch ya later Benny!" A small crash could be heard behind the closed door as a small voice could be heard crying, "Oh no!" Hadden's laughter echoed throughout the cafe as he pushed the door open and walked out into the sun filled day.
"A-are you okay Benny?" She asked as she helped him up and helped him pick everything up. Once done, she walked back out to collect the money and as soon as she picked up, she blushed slightly as she saw what was waiting for her. She saw a portrait of herself that Hadden drew of her on a napkin. Underneath it, his phone number. She quickly went to the cash register and put the money in that he paid and put the napkin in her pocket.
Maybe I should call him after work.... I never did give him my name... She thought as she walked back into the kitchen and washed her hands again before getting back to work. She couldn't believe that he actually left that for her. She thought she left a horrible impression when she met him. She also thought he'd go for Laura instead of herself but She guessed it didn't matter anymore. She wasn't going to be rude and ignore what he left for her.
Just then, Laura heard Millie say something about flirting with the custmoers. She rolled her eyes, and turned back around to see Hadden standing up, preparing to leave. "Laura," she introduced herself before he left. As he turned around, she slipped a small piece of paper with a phone number on it into his back pocket. She had always been a skilled pick-pocket. It had possibly something to do with the fact that she was so small and agile. And most likely, the slip of paper would never be found. But Laura didn't care. She had a sort of aversion to giving up, even if it was just in an attempt to make a guy like her.
"See ya later ginger."
Laura smirked as Hadden walked away, rolling her eyes. Suddenly, Hadden let out a burst of laughter, though what he was laughing about, Laura had no idea. She hated not knowing stuff. What if it was something about her? Laura pretended to shrug it off, and walked back to the kitchen.
"Excuse me," she said softly. "I was wondering, do you play professionally? It's just that, I love to sing and I haven't done so in such a long time... I don't know why... I used to dream of being a famous singer and actor... anyway I was wondering whether I could sing with you? I know it's sort of weird to be asking this of a person I just met but yeah..." her sentance drifted away and she gave the red headed man a shy smile. He probably thinks I'm trying to get his number or something... she thought. But dating is not on my agenda right now... I have to think about me...
Maxie was somewhat shocked, but then again she was having a tuff time more so now. Every year since she met her those dreams would resurface all the time for a week. She kept quiet but feared she would crack, to be dealing with all that and keep a straight face. She watched er walk by in a daze. "I'll be right there mill..but.." she didn't respond as she looked to Benny,"let aiko or sandy clean up, she looks serious kiddo.." she took his hand and patted his head he felt like a kid brother,"maybe it's good news..maybe she'll let you help out prepping or waiting tables in a cute costume." she teased
"Me a professional? heh I wouldn't think upon myself so greatly. I guess you could say I'm just a local soloist who plays for a living and a hobby. Anyways…" He spoke, his golden eyes going to hers before continuing.
"I have nothing else to do, you can tag along after your done if you want. When do you get off? I mean - I'm thinking of going to the beach which after i may just go about sitting in the park unless other plans come up. Either way if you really want to sing along or attempt to sing with me. We'll see what ya got then. Just call me on this phone and the name is Kaguya Iyato." He spoke shortly after writing down his number. He then began to play his guitar, a little happier tune this time and looked up at her.
"Now I'll let you get back to work, and can you tell them to get to my order please" He said softly.
"I can't do anything today but I'll be sure to give you a call tomorrow." Sandy turned around tucking a loose hair behind her ear, "I'll go and check your on your order," she called over her shoulder. She started walking to the kitchen but suddenly realised something and ran back to Kaguya.
"Sorry, I'm Sandy, I forgot to say. Right food... check haha," she laughed awkwardly.
Millie, Maxine and Benny seemed to be busy so she got Kaguya's order herself and swiftly brought it back to him.
"Here you go," she smiled brightly as she placed his order down in front of him. She was in full waitress mode now. "Do you need anything else sir?"
There he saw Aiko working hard over the counter on something, but he was to short to actually see what it was.
Whatever it is it smells really good. Benny shook his head trying to get the thought out. No, no, I must focus.
"Aiko," he spoke up to get the girl's attention. "I'm freaking out, Maxine says Millie is going to put me in a cute costume and serve to people while wearing it! Plus Millie looks really worried over something. I know you only recently started working, but...Sis has been down lately, and she usually isn't like that. I just don't know what to do."
"I'm freaking out, Maxine says Millie is going to put me in a cute costume and serve to people while wearing it! Plus Millie looks really worried over something. I know you only recently started working, but...Sis has been down lately, and she usually isn't like that. I just don't know what to do."
She thought over what she was going to say a second and then when she got all her thoughts together, she knelt down to look him in the eye. She always felt it was better to talk to someone like this.
"hmm... Well, whenever someones down, I usually bake a cake for them... But you can never truly know whats wrong unless they talk to you... but, you don't want to push it. All you should do is be there to cheer her up." She tried to give a smile as she gave him the best idea he had.
"If you want, when work is over, I could help you make a cake for her... Or if you know she likes something else, I could help you make that." She said, hoping it would help him with his problem.
"And about the costume, if you really don't want to wear it, tell her. Say something like it goes against your rights if she forced you." She said with a smile as she tried to cheer him up. She wasn't that good as cheering people up but she would try her best.
"Is it alright if I go home with you from work? If we cook it here Millie will know. My Auntie won't mind if I stay out late as long as I tell her where I am."
"Keep a hold of the recipe until tonight. Once work is over, I'll show you to my apartment." She said, happy she could help him in any way possible. He was nice to her so it would be nice to pay back his kindness.
Why was I so stressed out before? Sandy wondered. Try as she might she could not remember, in fact there was a lot of stuff she couldn't remember. Oddly enough it did not bother her one bit for she was happy and happiness was not an emotion Sandy was used to and so she planned to savour it.
"Hey Aiko! This food smells amazing," she beamed.
in the employee room, Millie sat there at the table waiting for Benny, the dream still fresh in her mind.
As the red haired man walked through the concrete jungle quite a bit of the people of Nazo noticed him and waved. Some of these were people who listened to his tracks and other's were just those who went to his gigs. It wasn't anything he felt praise about and sometimes found it a little annoying when he couldn't get any time away from it. None-the-less, that didn't stop him from being nice or nice enough to stop for a few. His last intervening was actually right at the entrance of the beach. Only a few people who only wanted an autograph on their CDs. Kaguya didn't expect himself to be that known only being local but little did he know. This was the world now and it wasn't as big as it use to be.
"I'm really sorry about this," the kid's mother said apologetically.
"It's fine, really," Sandy laughed. Although in her head she was thinking You really need to have a better control of your child.
Sandy winced as the kid tossed a spoon at the side of her head. She rubbed the rapidly rising bump. For such a little kid he had a good arm.
Sandy finished cleaning and got away from the table as quickly as possible. Sandy sighed, and tried to pick out some of the food that the little brat had got in her hair. She hated messes a lot. It was weird, she didn't no why she hated dirt so much. She never used to as a little girl. Back then she had cared about music and acting and little else. She shrugged, it wasn't important and she still had a bunch of orders to take in.
"Hi there," she smiled pleasantly at a young couple. "What can I get for you?"
