Personality || Laika tends to be a rather eccentric individual. She is usually calm and composed but isn't exactly what one may call mature or serious. She is usually heard humming some tunes during the course of a mission which leads some to believe that she has a bit of a playful side. Among her colleagues, she's also rather outgoing, and can usually be counted on to crack a joke just to lighten the tense mood.
In the heat of battle though, Laika tends to get carried away, turning just a tad more aggressive and ferocious in contrast to her usual demeanor. She's fast, efficient and calculating once she enters combat and isn't one to pass up an opportunity to take out a target. She does have enough discipline to follow orders, and can even be said to be quite a stickler for them as she usually doesn't like it when her other allies go against their objectives or make their own modifications to the plan.
Outside of battle, her outgoing nature and with makes her quite a popular figure around her peers, so she's usually relied on for negotiations and talks, despite the presence of other soldiers around who easily outrank her.
Weapons || Drachen II - An armored fighting vessel developed by CC in order to close the power gap between it and its enemies. Essentially an advanced, medium tank designed to withstand the rigors of prolonged combat in both urban and field settings, the Drachen is a force to be reckoned with in the field. Controls are mostly manual, with the very minimal computer-assisted processes protected and coated with high-quality insulation in order to prevent outside interference. It is capable of switching between a main mobile long range fighter into a stationary artillery cannon for added versatility.
Its armaments are a pair of 90 mm cannons that can power up and combine into a massive 180 mm buster cannon when in artillery mode. These guns are quite powerful, capable of blasting a hole in most structures and other vehicles, and is very much capable of shredding a regular robot to bits. Additional smaller caliber gun turrets have also been mounted near the main guns in order to deal with hostiles that somehow got too close.
Outside her machine, Laika is armed with a Galil ACE 23 (rifle) and an SW 686 (pistol). She also carries a standard army infantry knife and a wide assortment of grenades and bombs.
Strengths || As a soldier, Laika is well-trained in combat and survival. She's good at fighting against personnel and robots owing to the experience she's accumulated in her early years up to the present and has seen a lot of action on the front lines. Her skills with the guns she uses are impressive and she's no slouch in close-combat either, as she is also good at fighting with her knife and bare hands.
Her piloting skill and reflexes are sharp enough that she's capable of operating the all-manual controlled Drachen series with minimal strain. She's also obedient towards authority, which allows her to maintain a highly satisfactory rating among her peers.
Weaknesses || Laika's principal weakness lies in the fact that she's a normal human without special powers whatsoever. Her skills as a soldier can only go so far once her opponent's powers start to break the realm of reality. Being inside her machine addresses these issues somehow but does not completely alleviate them as her machine is still bound by conventional power sources which limits its operating time.
The machine itself is also vulnerable when in artillery mode as it has to remain stationary in order to start shelling though the turret is still capable of turning 360 degrees. Heavy armor makes it a difficult target to pierce but an experienced, smaller-scale war machine would find no trouble in taking advantage of the tank's inherent blind spots and weaknesses.
Backstory || Being born in the midst of the ongoing war against the robots and Endlings, Laika's parents already determined that she would not be long for the world. She was raised under strict circumstances, eventually ending up attending military school in the hopes that having such knowledge and training would allow her to live just a tad bit longer. She performed decently during her time there and used to be one of the most stuck-up trainees in the squad.
Their first mission was a blitzkrieg attack on the cold plains of Svalbard where reconnaissance teams have sighted a concentrated gathering of rogue machines trying to sequester weaponry from the old military outpost there. Squads of trainees, including Laika landed and fought hard with all their might, eventually taking over the old installation. Their mission then switched from offense into defense as they now had to defend their new position for 72 hours until reinforcements arrived to relieve them from the field. A fierce battle was fought which resulted in many casualties on their side but still, they were successful in warding off the threat, even with the chain of command absent. Among the 150 men and women sent there, only twenty survived which included Laika.
That mission caused a great change in the girl's psyche, turning her from a stuck-up overly serious girl into a much more laid-back yet outgoing individual. Some say that the battlefield had taught her much about her own life as she now strives to live enthusiastically as much as she can with her short time on Earth.
Upon promotion to Lieutenant, she was stationed within CC as a soldier in charge of diplomacy and artillery. She is still sometimes called in as part of an infantry unit but only when they find themselves lacking in numbers.
