Amalia is a free spirited young woman and the second in line for the French throne. During her time in France she had a stint as a soldier behind her parents back, havinng built herself quite the reputation in the french army. She adores children especially girls and has a bad habit of spoiling them sometimes even attempting to take home strays until someone talks some sense into her. She's disappeared from her home about eight times over the years, including when she left to join the crew of the Leviathan. Many years of her childhood were spent training in the arts of swordsmanship and battle tactics, leaving her an expert on the subjects and a rather good teacher.

For someone standing at only 5'5", Amalia has quite the commanding air about her. She has a rather slim build that she dresses in mostly functional clothes although she is still partial to flamboyant clothes like capes and long flowing dresses. Her hair falls down to her waist, growing in an unnatural shade of violet reminiscent of her mothers. She has kept it cut short at the top layer of her hair as a reminder of her glory days in the military, although if you were to ask her she would insist that it's to allow her to simply roll up the longer sections of her hair to pass for a man.
Amalia's eyes are both the most welcoming and menacing part of her body. The pale blue orbs are both soft and filled with compassion like her mother, and as calculating and unforgiving as her father's. Taking after her father in the skin department as well, she has velvety fair skin that burns very easily, leaving her looking like a tomato after more than a few hours out in the sun. To avoid this, she has accumulated quite the collection of sunhats and lotions that aid (or at least she thinks they do) in preventing and getting rid of her embarrassingly red skin.

Having grown up in a no nonsense environment, Amalia is what one might describe as a stick in the mud. She refuses to let any member of the crew get off topic while she's explaining a battle or even something as small as a quicker way to finish a chore, stopping anyone who dares to look bored with a death stare and some harsh words.
Amalia isn't the type to be very vocal about her emotions, normally wearing the same stoic expression that can only be intentionally cracked after quite a bit of pressure. She does her best to maintain the prim and proper composure she was trained to wear as a child, but so much as tripping in front of someone can cause her face to turn a bright shade of red before she rushes off.
As much as she would like you to believe, Amalia is a far cry from the ruthless cold pirate she'd like people to see her as. The princess has had more than just the fighting techniques ingrained in her from her childhood, kindness and charity were as well. In fact she's almost kind to a fault, emptying her pockets for a beggar before marching up to the next wealthy looking french person and requesting they bring them to her parents to get a job in the palace. often causing more trouble than good for all parties involved.
Old habits die hard, and Amalia's book addiction is a prime example. Spending nights by candlelight studying everything from books on the mystical arts to maps of the Americas, you name it, she's probably read it at some point. If not she'll have her hands on it within the month.
If Amalia were to be an animal she'd most certainly be a dog. Fiercely loyal to those who have earned her trust as well as her own people, she would do anything for them. Including putting herself in danger for other's sake. To even imply that she should stay out of a conflict involving those she cares for is taken not only as a personal offense, but as an impression of the true character of the person as well.
