Name:
Carrick Eamon
Aliases/Nicknames:
Sometimes jokingly called “Squireboy”, or “The Man of Stone.”
Age:
25
Appearance:
He is broad-shouldered, and is mistaken by many as a bodyguard. He has a stoic appearance; the bone structure of his face is stoic, and vast. He has brown hair that he generally tries to keep cut at a tidy length just above his ears, as it tends to get wavy and annoying if it gets too long. With eyes as green as the hills, he is often automatically perceived as a lover of nature. His body is that of a fighter; he stands at a slightly intimidating 6”3, and he always tries to keep good posture to suit the warrior that he serves. He has few scars, but one prominent one on his lower forearm from a battle when he first began fighting.
Race:
Human
Weapons:
He prefers to use a rather large two-handed sword, which he has named “Lapisius.” It is cast of iron and has his family crest, a bull rearing its head, made into the base of the hilt. Other than that, he carries two hand-held fighting daggers, but usually refrains from carrying other weapons as they just serve to weight him down. (However, he hopes to one day carry a war hammer, though he knows not hot to acquire one.)
Magic:
None
Armor:
He wears a chainmail breast, but as he is not the richest of men, the only armor he really has is that which was given to him by those he has served. He also wears a black robe that has often aided him in keeping from detection at night.
Equipment:
He carries cooking utensils usually (a frying pan, basically) as he is actually an avid cook. Besides that, he just carries weapons, a small storage of food, a canteen for water, and clothing. However, he always travels with his steed, Gaoth.
History:
He was born and raised in the heart of Rohan, where he learned to ride and love his trusty steed, Gaoth, who he has had since he was five years of age. He, however, was different than many warriors of Rohan; he grew up with a certain brute strength that many of the other young warriors did not necessarily have. He was idolized for his strength, but he always wished to have the agility and stealth that to everyone else seemed so commonplace.
His parents were kind; his mother a housewife, and his father a blacksmith. Carrick often found joy in helping his father smith things. They were rich by no means, but more well-off than, say, those who farmed for their living. His dream from a very young age was to be a warrior and to go and fight for his country.
However, he found that, after a visiting warrior from Gondor arrived on his way to another distant land, that perhaps the warriors of Gondor would appreciate the more strength-based style of fighting to which he found accustomed. He made it his duty to join the ranks of the Gondor military, and at the age of 17 he left the safety of his family’s home in Rohan to go off and join the military under the Gondor elite.
Personality:
Contrary to his stoic facial features, he has a very kind heart. However, he is a firm believer in formality and adhering to the rules; he almost always keeps himself in a formal posture. He talks with the essence of an educated man, though he is not particularly educated. He has tried to overcome the brute air that many have placed upon him, and many now call him a “push-over” because of it. He loves things that one would not see a man necessarily loving, such as cooking and plants.
Other:
Whenever he kills an animal, it is customary for him to hold his own sort of “ritual” for their death. However, when killing a person in battle, he does not find this to be necessary.
