The Story So Far... Write a Post » as written by 9 authors
"Damn, stupid insomnia..." she sat up and watched the waves crash on the beach, pulling her knees up to her chest. In the sand, she started to draw little pictures in the sand.
She then sighed and layed down on the sand and starred up into the stars. "It's hard to believe something like that could happen. I mean, one day your boarding a cruise for a school trip, and the next your stranded on a desert island. Life is cruel that way, huh?"
(Timeskip to next morning)
Eiko woke up the the blinding sun hitting her face, surprised she got any sleep at all. She groaned, turning on her side and covering her eyes with her arms. She sound of a bag being dropped woke her up, feeling her stomach growl, she picked up a coconut. The bitter taste it her tongue, and she scrunched up her nose.
"There has to be something better" she mumbled, grabbing her jacket and pocket knife. She saw Mark walking off with his spear, the others were off to examine the box (which in all honesty, was a little afraid to go near) and Pike was no where in sight.
Sighing, she got up and started walking out deeper into the island, wanting to see if she could find any supplies needed.

After breakfast it was on to work. She had 30 rooms to clean and, while some guests were rather neat, there were some rooms left so filthy that it made Saria question weather they wanted it cleaned at all. Maybe they liked living in trash...?
It was getting close to that wonderful time of day when Saria would be able to put her feet up and relax when the ship jerked. As a member of the crew, it was her responsibility to report to her supervisor, who instantly tasked the young woman, among others, to start evacuating and handing out life vests. As a result, she was one of the last off of the ship. Amid all of the screaming and chaos, time seemed to slow down around her. The house keeper took a deep breath, then jumped. Plunged into icy cold water, a terrified Saria swam for her life. Suddenly, something struck her head from behind, knocking the young woman out and letting her limp, body drift away to be washed up on an unknown shore.
The first thing Saria notice when she woke was the horrible pain in her head. The second, was that she was alive at all. The could water lapping at her feet, the warm sun and sand... she was alive. Saria sat up and looked around slowly, only to sit there motionless for several minuets after as she pondered everything that had happened. It was the sound of faint voices that finally drew her attention away from the twisting sea. She wasn't alone.
Saria stood gingerly and made a vain attempt to dust some of the sand from her ruined uniform before making her way to the tree line. Slowly the young woman tipped toed to the tree line, but as soon as other figures became visible in the distance, she hid behind a tree to watch from afar. She would have to go to meet them eventually... but she hadn't the nerve just yet. It seemed no mater where she was, Saria was just no good at being social. At work it was easy, she knew what her employer and customers wanted and expected her to say and do... but general socialization? Eep.
"I saw them too" I said, looking in the direction of girl. I wanted to go after her, but didn't want to go out into the jungle alone. I turned to Mark and grabbed his hand. "Come on, let's follow her" She said, dragging Mark behind her as she ran after the girl.
She held up a finger to quiet me before peering into the dark jungle. "I heard something else. It was this way." she said as she pointed deeper in. "Let's go."
I grunted, "Right." We took off into the damp brush. I could feel my arms and legs getting cut up by the terrain and plants. I stumbled over a rock that jutted out of the ground. I fell down into mud puddle. I spat out mud. "Ugh, I'm not used to this type of terrain.
We were reaching a clearing as I could see some light slowly getting brighter ahead of us. The survivor that had left earlier in the morning was standing with the person I saw wash up on the beach. "Is everything alright? We heard shouting."
"I suppose we could make a boat, or even wings like in that greek story, Icurus and Deadulus." I smiled at the thought, remembering the story from history class. "Ah, but we all know how well that worked out" I chuckled slightly, but my smile faded as I heard the sound of a twig snapping, then the the muffled voices of somone talking. At that momment Mark slid down the tree, saying he found nothing, but I put up my finger to quiet him.
"I heard something else. It was this way" We ran off deeper into the jungle. I often went exploring with my friend in the forest, so I had a little experiance. Key word: a little. I heard Mark fall into a mud puddle. I couldn't help but giggle slightly as i put out my hand to help him up.
"I'm not used to this kind of terrain" he said, and I smiled at him as to say "Its okay".
We reached the clearing when we saw two survivors, the one with the long dark hair (I belive his name was Pike) and the other girl whose name i did not know. Mark explained that we heard them and came to see what was wrong. I smiled at the girl, who looked really scared and shy.
The box was still where we left it, the tide had gone out and left it in dry sand. I don't think it'll be washing back out any time soon, but we need to get it higher up so it won't get washed out to sea. It may contain something important. Now if only we had something to open it...
I glanced up from where I was lying. The rest had already gone. They must have gone to the camp zone. Well, time to get to work. I got up and headed over to where our smoldering campfire was. The place was empty so they must have gone to get food. Maybe it'll be nice to surprise them with some shelters. Or maybe a shelter? I took a small stick from the fire that only had the tip of it charred. I grabbed a few palm fronds from the trees around me and wove together the individual fronds into a quilt pattern. Homemade paper, alright. I took my stick and began to sketch out a small design. The walls will be made of wood to keep out predators and a tightly woven palm frond roof will keep out any rain. Now how will I cut down trees. I'm going to need an axe.
Swimming has always been something I enjoyed. To most people, after the boat sank and we had to swim for our lives, swimming would be the last thing on there minds. But to me, it's a way of saying "Your life was saved by swimming, so obviously, swimming is an important fact in your life!" I stayed in a shallow little cove as I laid on my back and floated on my back, watching the clouds fly though the sky as the wind picked up. The wind caused the water to ripple, as I floated up and down.
The warm sun felt nice on my skin. The water was cool and relaxing. For a minute I forgot we were on an island, and started waiting for my sister to sneak up and dunk me in the water, or Jace to grab my leg and try to recreate that cheesy scene from Jaws. But when I opened my eyes again, in was back on the island.
"I wonder if we'll ever make it off this island?" I thoughts as a cool wave splashed over my face.

"I don't want to die..." I think as I'm sinking further and further down along with the rest of the ship. "And I'm not going to" getting a grip on myself, I thrust my arms out, kicking my legs back and forth and using all the strength I can muster to swim up. I break the surface, just in time to see the entire ship submerged in water, sinking down to the lowest depths of the ocean along with all the people who were abandoned on board
"No!" I screamed, splashing around in the shallow cove as I woke up suddenly. Looking around, I realized I was still in the shallow cove I had been swimming in, but had fallen asleep.
Walking up to the shore, I sat by a large rock and pulled my knees up to my chest, trying to rid myself of that terrible memory that seemed like ages ago.
"So many people drowned..." I though, as I closed my eyes and fought off the urge to cry.
