0 · 125 views · located in Midnight Shores

a character in “Midnight Justice”, as played by Hizoki

Description

Elementalist. Manipulator of fires.
Gender: Female
Age: 17

Cora Aeron, twin sister to Kona Aeron, is quite the opposite to her sibling. She’s outgoing, very talkative and dresses usually in jeans and a tank-top. Born with quite a temper, she’s the kind of redhead tomboy who gets into trouble more than necessary, skips classes and has the highest score of detention in the school history. Thanks to her twin brother though, she always manages to slip out of tight situations unharmed. With her personality comes the power to control fire. Like her twin, she can manifest and manipulate it in a 2 meter radius when she’s alone and get’s doubled when she’s with her twin. Between the two of them she’s the muscle while he is the brain.

In a war she’ll burn her enemies to ashes and make sure there would be nothing left of them.

So begins...

It was around midnight when Kona felt something tickling against his face. He grunted and turned in his bed while trying to wave away whatever object it was that had woken him from his sleep. “Oh come on bro. Don’t be a spoil sport. Let’s go practice!” Cora was squeeling next to him and it made him sigh. She smiled when he turned to face her with a scowl. “Do you know what time it is Cora? You should be in bed. What are you doing in my room anyway? What if I had been naked?” Cora burst out laughing while kona sat up. “You really think you have anything I haven’t seen before bro?” With that Kona sighed again and reached out for his glasses, placed them over his eyes and adjusted them on his nosebridge. “Fine, fine, but this will be the last time I go with you for midnight practices Cora. Exams are coming up soon you know.” This time it was Cora’s turn to sigh. “You are such a nerd. Come on, come on, let’s go.” The twin sister was being very impatient and even tossed Kona some clothes from his closet before sneaking out from his room. Kona shook his head and began dressing before following his sister to get out to the streets. They both made sure to be quiet, as to not wake up their parents, while they walked down the stairs and put on their shoes and jackets when they reached the front door. Kona walked with his hands in his pockets while Cora was twirling around like a child. “Seriously, when are you going to grow up.” Cora stuck her tongue out at her brother before she answered him back. “When are you gonna loosen up a bit? Relax, mom and dad aren’t gonna find out anyway like usual.” “I don’t know how I let myself be talked into this by you.” Cora giggled childlike. “Because you’re a responsible biiiiiiig brother.” Though they were twins, Kona had been born first and Cora always teased him with it. He shook his head at her and they continued walking down the street. When they finally got to their own special hideout Kona and Cora went to stand in front of eachother. “Try and make me float today. You were doing fine for yourself last time.” Kona just nodded, letting her have her way as usual before he lifted his hands in front of him and pointed them at Cora. Though there was no indication of any storm coming up in town, in the small dark ally the wind was suddenly getting more frisky and Cora’s clothes was waving and fluttering from the force. Soon her feet were a few inches off the ground and she smiled brightly. “You’re doing it. You’re doing it Kona!” The twin brother concentrated further and soon he too was a few inches above the street and Cora just laughed. “Boaster.” She said. That’s when she heard something crashing, like glass breaking in the distance and they both dropped back down to the ground. Kona landed on his feet and looked out the alleyway while Cora landed on her ass. “Ouch, hey! That wasn’t nice!” She yelped out while rubbing her sore bottom. “You’ll get over it.” Was all Kona commented back, before he slowly began walking out to the open street. Cora huffed uncomfortably but still got up to follow him. They both looked down from the corner of a building to see what was going on. Further down there was a café where the front window had broken. They stayed silent while some strangers were talking amongst themselves and after it seemed like they were going to dispatch Cora got out from the allyway and began walking over towards them but Kona grabbed her the arm. “We shouldn’t meddle in other people’s business.” He said while eying the café. “Come on, they might need our help.” Then she yanked out her arm and half ran half walked over to the people in the café. “God you’re such a huge pain.” He mumbled to himself before following his twin. Cora was the first to greet the strangers with a smile and a wave while Kona just stood in the background, hands in his pockets again. “Hey, we heard the crash and wondered if everything is alright? What happened? Is everyone alright?”

Alastor raised his hand, stopping the six men behind him. Half his men had been sent to secure a large perimeter though he had kept six behind as a personal guard. Earlier he had been approached by a well known broker of services that had offered his Mercenary group a contract. Work was always welcome but this target was interesting, and despite the fact he knew that his competition would not show him any mercy but he truly had his mind set. Signalling swiftly, two of his men disappeared into a nearby leaving him with only four but he knew the other two would close.

Striding forward once again the four sets of feet fell into step behind him. The dark deserted streets did not help the men seem approachable nor did the eerily dark clothes the all seemed to wear. Turning a corner, he found himself gazing at his destination, a cafe with a completely shattered glass window. He could sense the energy of the one he sought inside, but he could also sense others in side so he stood gazing at the building, the four men coming to rest a couple of steps behind him again. Only taking his gaze off the structure for but a brief moment as he glanced at the roof behind him, the two figures he had sent away earlier returning once again now situated in prime vantage points, giving a signal towards their boss.

Returning his gaze back towards the cafe, he reached down to his side where the spell hiding his sword vanished. Grasping the hilt of the sword, he drew it slowly from the sheath, his gaze unrelenting. He raised the sword out to his side and allowed one of the men behind him to step forward and take the blade before stepping back into line with the others. Now with empty hands he step away from his men picking the distance seemingly half between his starting point and the cafe. " I would like a word with you" he said having a feeling the one he was after would know that they were addressed.

Violet glanced over at Kona and Cora, her eyebrows furrowed at them. kill kill kill. She focused on Kona and began to run towards him, she jumped up and wrapped her arm around his neck and slammed him to the ground. She zapped him with her lightning, her intent was to kill him but a part of her couldn't fully do it. She shot out silver lightning at Mabel and then at Rox knocking them to the ground. She glanced up at Cora ready to knock her out too but then she heard someone outside. She looked over at Alastor and then back at Cora. Her eyes began to tear with black liquid. She felt out of control, she tried to stop herself but couldn't. She pushed Cora to the ground, pushing her out of the way. She ran out towards Alastor, hate flowed through her even more heavily. She felt an enemy approaching, a stampede of them in fact but she couldn't focus her energy on that, all she could focus on was killing Alastor and his two guards. She began to power up her lightning, she got ready to fire and when she did she hit a Wendigo. The creature fell to it's death, she stared at it in horror beginning to relax. She looked up at Alastor and then at what approached behind him. A group of 4 Wendigo's, 3 hybrid werewolves, 3 Nagual's in the shape of jaguars, 5 hooded shadow creatures and a Berserker who appeared to be the leader. Violet stumbled back a couple steps in horror. They were ready to attack.

OOC: I have created 2 new Arcs, one Chapter 2 is for Noel and the other for Violet. Also feel free to attack and kill any of the creatures I listed above or even attack Violet. It's your war too.

Rox looked up at the ceiling when he heard a lightning sound outside, he was up on his legs in a zap then looked at the twins ”Hey your to come and help me i can smell trouble is on it's way” he said and ran out to Violet, then he saw Alastor and his men and then the monster, come from behind the two men and Alastor. ”Move your ass if you don't want to die tonight” Rox took his daggers and then he positioned himself to run and attack, before that he calculated his moves to set the attack for the right time. Rox took the attack and cut down the 3 hybrid werewolves in one strike with his silver dagger, then the Berserker took him by the arm and attacked Rox. Rox had not foreseen the attack until he had been lifted up in the air with one hand from the Berserker. At that moment, Rox saw his death had finally had come when he heard something ”you can do it Rox” and a flashback happened. It was from his years without his parents in high school that was when Rox had to learn to control his werewolf in side of him. Suddenly he snapped out off the flashback ”Hey man don't you have an army?!!” he shouted to Alastor.

Kona didn’t even have the time to blink before his throat was strangled in delicate yet strong arms and got pushed down to the ground. While his glasses fell off his nose bridge and the first blow to his back against the concrete made him loose his breath, he looked up in shock, seeing this strange woman on top of him. It was just a split second, but the moment he looked up at her all he did was stare into her eyes. It was like looking out from within a tornado, filled with chaos and destruction on the outer circle, but blessed with calm in the center. He couldn’t speak, not because of his strangulation but because he was mesmerized by the sight. That was until he felt the burning of lightning running through his body and he screamed out in agonizing pain. The crackling sounds filled his ears, disoriented his mind and locked him in place. When the pain disappeared he was finally able to move and curled on the ground in agony. From slightly opened eyes he looked up and saw that the Violet, who had just attacked him, was about to go after his twin sister. Cora had already made a stance of defense and her hands were on fire. “You want a piece of me too!” She yelled at the woman but was soon pushed aside like a ragdoll. The world around Kona was a bit blurry so he quickly felt around him for his glasses. When he found them he placed them back over his eyes and ran over to Cora to help her up. His body was still burning slightly but he was alive. “I told you we shouldn’t meddle. When will you ever start to listen to me?!” While lifting up his twin a newly arrived stranger spoke up. Both siblings looked up and noticed Alastor who apparently was referring to Violet when he spoke. The rage filled Violet didn’t give Alastor much of an answer as her furious rampage continued. Though she’d missed the original target, Violet still killed a creature. A Wendigo who’d come out of the blue and ended up getting killed. Cora gasped and tugged on Kona’s arm, pointing in the direction of a small army of supernatural creatures. “Bro, you take care of that crazy woman. I’ll help Rox!” Without waiting for an answer from her sibling, Cora sped forward, quickly burning the corpses of the hybrid werewolf’s Rox had killed and then blew off the berserker’s arm off that was holding Rox in the air. “Hey old man! Don’t get slow now.” She grinned at Rox and was then by his side. “Let’s take em!” She yelled and pulled the fire all over her arms.

Cora shot flames against the berserker while delivering kicks and blows. She’d been training quite well in martial arts and had become an expert in close combat. The training had been supposed to have helped her control her temper but on the contrary it was only channeling her anger even more. She was moving smoothly like it was a dance to her and of any of the other creatures came to close she blew them further away from her to concentrate on the berserker. If they were able to take down the leader first the rest would be easier. Though it would prove difficult with the strength the berserker possessed. It quickly went into a furious rage and began hitting in unpredictable patterns. Cora had to flip backwards to avoid being hit, and made a little distance between herself and the leader. With quick movements she made a wall of fire that circled around herself and the leader so that no one could interfere with their fight. “Rox! Take care of the Naguals. I’ll concentrate on the leader!” She yelled to Rox on the other side of the firewall. Then her hands were reignited and the fight continued.

Image

Kona was going to protest but his sister was already running towards the fight. He sighed before ignoring Cora and went for Violet. Thanks to his ability to manipulate wind, he was able to cut through the air like an arrow. So when he went for Violet it didn’t even take a nanosecond before he was right next to her. Placing both his hands on her shoulders, he starred directly into her eyes to make her focus. “Hey! You need to calm down! If you keep going like that you’ll kill everyone here. You don’t wanna have innocent blood on your hands now do you?” He saw the confusion inside her and understood that her power had to be new to her. It made him wonder if she even knew how to control it yet. “Don’t be scared of it. Your power is part of you, it’s not controlling you. Just breathe!” With a quick glance around he knew that staying here wasn’t going to help Violet. Though she had just tried to kill him, Kona knew it wasn’t what she really had wanted to do. The pain from the lightning was still lingering in his joints which made him less flexible as usual. In such a state he wasn’t sure if he’d even be able to keep Violet protected from the enemies, or even from herself. He then grabbed her in his arms, lifted her off the ground and took her further away from the sounds of fighting. With a little help from the air around them he made the sounds disappear from her ears. To Violet there would be a calming silence surrounding her and only his voice would be able to break through it. “Just calm down. You’re stronger than you think. There’s nothing to be scared of.” When he’d gotten her at a good distance from the fighting he stopped and let her go, but stayed close to her if she were to go on a rampage again.

Staring intently he watched Violet come running from the cafe, Black tears falling from her cheeks, her path determined. Not moving a muscle Alastor could see the power building in her hand. His intention was to talk, so he stood unflinching even when he saw the power fly out from her hand. Though he soon saw the gaunt frame of a wendigo laying dead in front of him. Instead of being worried or concerned about her attempt to attack or the fact the first wave of hunters were upon them already he couldn't help but burst out laughing. It was a laugh edged with malice though as he turned to his men. " I can stand still and survive"

Taking his sword back from his guard he gestured towards the shadow creatures, he on the other hand had his eyes set on the gangly wendigos. It was then he heard somone shout over in his direction " Ha.. we dont need an army to deal with this" Turning his body off, he swung his sword down to cut a hand off that came lunging for him. Stepping towards the injured creature he drove his blade into its gut before ripping it out the side. Snatching another hand out of mid lunge he pulled the unbalanced creature towards him burying his sword into its spine.

Noticing the distinct absence of Violet he turned his attention away from the remaining two wendigos, seeming like he did not care about the angry creatures still lurking behind him. Completely not fazed by the chaos round him he eyes scanned to try and find Violet though he could her. Darkness seemed to be dripping from Alastor's hands as he let out a shrill whistle bringing over one of his guards who wasn't cutting apart a shadow creature. " Find her" he said simply, the darkness suddenly flared out from his hands behind him, hitting the remaining wendigos. The dark inky substance began to tear into their flesh and eat away at them as he eye'd what stood left on the battlefield.

Rox looked at Cora and laughed and said”I'm not an old man but if you want to see fast, then hold on I will show you what fast really is.” Rox looked at the three Naguals and calculated his own moves but then the taint began to appear on his arm and Rox began to transform to his werewolf form. Through his transformation he became a white werewolf and when he saw the three Naguals he began to howl in the darkness. Then he began to attack the Naguals, all three of them individually. He moved as fast as lightning, he cut them in the chest til he reached their hearts then he stopped and did a combo to rip their hearts out. Then he cooled down and transformed to his human form and fell down to the ground in exhaustion. He tried to get back up on his legs again “Hey little girl are you finished with him or do you want me to help you with that big guy when I catch my breathe” he yelled to Cora while she was still inside the firewall with the berserker.

Cora could see the hazy silhouette of Rox between the flames of her wall. When he bragged about his speed she laughed while avoiding a punch from the berserker. “Don’t overdo it old man.” And then finally she covered her arms completely in flames that extended a foot out from her hands, looking like firey blades. “You just sit back and watch a youngin do the work.” The berserker leader growled while swinging the one arm he had left towards her. She quickly twisted her body in a dodge move and swung her fire blades at his shoulder. The arm cut off clean like a hot knife through butter and as a boost she swung in a circle while kneeling down and kicked him off his feet. While he was laying down she forced the flames into his chest, copying the move that Rox had made, letting her hand penetrate between skin and muscles before she pulled out the pulsating heart. The walls of fire disappeared and she stood triumphantly, bouncing the heart up and down in her hand and searched for Rox. “Heh no need for help old man. I got it covered.” She then noticed how tired he was and ran over to him after tossing the heart away. “Hey come on now, I told you not to overdo it.” She helped him up on his feet and looked around. Then she heard Alastor yelling for his men to find her. She saw the direction they ran towards and knew it was where her brother was. She put Rox’s arm around her shoulder, noticing the dark spots and looked at him with concern. “You need someone to have a look at that old man.” Then she starred at Alastor, scowling at him with flaming eyes. “You! What is it that you want with that woman?”

Image

Kona listened while Violet spoke, trying to understand what it was she meant. “Unbalanced? What do you mean.. the scales?” That’s when a shadowy cloaked man appeared between them and Kona took a step back. The shadow disappeared as fast as he had appeared, leaving behind an army of dark creatures that was charging towards them. Kona shielded himself in a surrounding tornado and watched as they went straight for Violet. He was able to push some of the creatures back with blast of air that made them tumble over but some of them managed to get to her. His eyes looked in shock as she changed her form and easily annihilated the foes. That's when he finally realized who she was and her words made sense to him. When she told him not to let her kill him he stopped the shield and instead gathered the wind around him to make himself float up towards her. “Don’t worry. I won’t.” Instead he went directly behind her and used her lightning to create a storm above them. A huge black cloud circled over their heads, increasing in volume the more air he added to the storm they were creating. “You just concentrate on those enemies and use me as a tool. I’ll be fine.” Though her power was overwhelming in itself and he understood now why she was having difficulty controlling it, hopefully it would help her if he could somehow aid her powers. The hundreds of monsters and dark creatures was soon covered with the shadow of the storm above them and the random lightning strikes that shot down from the heavens hit and killed many more than the few before. “You have a much bigger range like this. I’ll make sure to stay out of your way.”

It would seem the battle was going roughly as to be expected. Alastor and his reamaining man had no trouble dealing with thier opponents, the others he paid little attention too, he was more concerned with the fact no more hostiles were turning up since Violet had been taken else where. Everything was being throw at one target, which meant he and his men where being ignored and it could prove very useful.

Turning his gaze towards the red head, he seemed to completely ignore her question as he slowly sheathed his sword " Now would be the time to escape if you wanted to..." before he could carry on his attention turned to the large black cloud that was forming in the distance, a veritable storming in the making. Once again another laugh escaped his lips " It seems the vanguard has arrived... and they started without me" Once again he let out a whistle to call over his one remaining guard " Go... signal the others...we will wipe what's left of the vanguard... then maybe i will finally be able to speak with this woman" he said dismissing his man.

As he was about to walk off, the disemboweled wendigo seemed to spring back up, only for its face to be caught by Alastor's hand as the inky substance consumed its head leaving the creature to fade like the others infected by his abyss magic, which was breaking them down into the same inky substance he used in the first place. Unlike the other times when he had disregarded the creatures like they were nothing. Malice seemed to pour from his eyes as he snarled at the corpse and for a moment the same gaze was flicked over towards the red head and the werewolf, but it soon passed as he strode off " Run or hurry up.... there is more to kill" Soon a large portion of his force would intercept the attacking vanguard, but they could not secure the area for long so he needed to act quickly

Riley picked up an emerald gem from the ground. He inspected it for cracks, the portal gems were known to fall apart easily. He put the gem in his pocket and examined his surroundings. He was in the Midnight Shores town core, the town seemed somber. He looked over at the sun and thought Blood rise, death is present. He saw a group of individuals surrounded by dead bodies. He hurried to somewhere close by and watched as they conversed. None of them were the dark angel he sought. He summoned a small orb from his hand and it worked like a looking glass. He saw Violet lying on the ground looking defeated. Riley's eyebrows furrowed and he walked up to the trio. "Only Justice could have caused such a thing, where is the dark angel?" he asked and showed them the orb in his hand with Violet as the image.
