The sun began to rise on the small town of Mantua and the world sprung to life as the birds began to sing a beautiful earthy jingle. The town was bathed in the sunlight as the inhabitants of this small town awoke to face their everyday lives. The Blue Rose Inn was open 24/7 and had many visitors already arriving ordering rooms and meals. The Inn was bustling with life as more new arrivals came. Mantua was one of the portal towns. Where people from earth came to the dream world, so The Blue Rose was almost always busy. Today was no different.

Trenton sat at a table in the corner of the Inn and sipped some tea. The Inn was beautiful, the entire building was made of four trees that were manipulated to grow into three floors of pure nature. On top of the building there were many blue roses, where the Inn got it's name. Trenton sat in a corner examining the new arrivals. They all seemed so awestruck by this new world, but none of them could Trenton help. He had heard of three arrivals the day prior, and they weren't to happy to be dead and trapped in some weird afterlife. He would tell them of the stone, the stone that could set them free. It wouldn't be an easy quest, but everybody has to face their fears.

Bella-Rosa sighed, then froze. 'What did she mean by dream world?' She thought to herself, as she walked over to the front desk. She rang the bell and waited for the innkeeper.

"Forgotten myself my dear boy." The Inn keeper apologised. "You are in Mantua. You're in the Dream World. It seems..."

Trenton stood from his table and walked over to the young man clad in a black cloak. "You have died in your sleep." Trenton said in a smooth and powerful tone. The kind of voice he usually spoke in. It was heavy with power and honour, yet very light and somewhat soothing. The Inn Keeper saw Trenton finish his sentence then scrambled off to help another customer, a young girl with jet black hair. Trenton eyed this figure. He could see destruction in his very soul. "This is the Dream world, where your soul goes when you sleep, and if you die in your sleep there is no body to return to. So you're stuck here." Trenton said in his suave tone.

"Yes my dear?" The innkeeper asked, his thick black moustache moved like a caterpillar as he spoke and moved in unison with his matching mutton chops.

"Well, looks like I am going to be here for quite some time then." Dov replied, more or less to himself. "So, is there anything special about the dream world? I am quite curious."

The moon and the stars was glowing bright in the black cloudless sky. That was the first image Ryle Lo saw when he opened his eyes from his sleep. Confusion and suspicion overwhelmed him. Blinking his eyes, he sat up and studied the place.
Where am I? he questioned himself while looking around, rubbing his eyes with the ball of his hand.
Just a while ago, he was in his apartment and fell into a slumber on his mattress after a long night of partying with friend. The place he was now was rather strange. The trees were shaped or grow to be houses but all was dark, no light illuminated from within. Probably because it was late night.
How did I get here?
Slowly, he got up and dusted the dirt from his back where he laid on the dirt and grass. That was when he saw the light from the building. Naturally, he headed towards it.
The place was crowded with people and bustling with sounds of music and chatter which was foreign to Ryle. The hanging sign stated that the place named Blue Rose Inn. The people there spoke few languages that he understood. From what he could muster, he gained knowledge that he was in the dream world where soul goes when a person sleeps. Apparently, if you die in your sleep, you are stuck in the world.
I have to wake up then, he though and focused to wake himself up, pinching himself on the cheeks and biting his tongue, but to no avail. Realizing what may be the reason of his failure to awake, his heart raced and pounded heavily.
"How do you know if you're dead or only sleeping!?" he asked the person that seemed to speak the same language as him, the person in blue attire. His eyes teary. "Dude, I gotta wake up!" he slapped his cheeks hard, leaving a red palm mark.

Trenton seemed to laugh as so many people started questioning where they were. It was no funny matter, but Maybe the innkeeper should put up a sign that said 'You have arrived in the Dream World's beautiful town of Mantua!', but seeing as he probably wouldn't do it Trenton pointed at a wall and imagined a sign on the wall saying such. He had to focus on fine details, what the sign was made off, how many particles made it up, what those particles atoms were made of...It was a fine science. Then the ink was even more complicated because he had to focus on the exact chemicals to make the ink black and bolded, but after about just thirty seconds of these thoughts racing through his head the sign appeared.

Trenton then turned around. "If you're in Mantua, which is where we are. Your body has died and your soul is stuck here. There's no waking up. However... If this world full of your wildest dreams doesn't satisfy you... You may speak to me later tonight at the Prancing Minotaur Tavern." Trenton stated eliminating all questions until later. He loved that everyone was so curious and hungry for this new knowledge, but he was getting swarmed by it.

Trenton then snapped and he had disappeared. He had only made his particles move to the Prancing Minotaur Tavern. Like teleportation. But after those tricks he was spent and almost passed out. "a little too much..." He told him self with a light hearty chuckle.

She gasped and looked around the room at everyone else. They were all standing around, staring where the man once was.

Then, realization hit Bella-Rosa like a ton of bricks. 'I'm dead.' She thought. 'I died in my sleep. My heart stopped. Oh my gosh, my disease killed me.' She thought, beginning to hyperventilate. She backed up against the wall, slid down it, and curled into a ball, breathing heavily.

"I'm dead." She whispered to herself. "I died." She began wheezing and coughing hysterically. She rested her head on her knees, wrapped her arms around her curled up legs, and wheezed into her legs, closing her eyes.

The Innkeeper was getting tired of so many questions. "If you want to speak to Master Trenton, the tavern he spoke of is down the street towards the Evermoon. And before you ask What the Evermoon is, it's the red moon that's always in the eastern sky." The tall bearded Innkeeper said flustered. He then abandoned the newcomers and started handing out room keys.

Trenton sat in The Prancing Minotaur. It was a nice enough building made of a mixture of natural trees, but it had windows of stained glass depicting different scenes in mythology. one window depicted Theseus slaying the minotaur, another of Odin discovering Loki, Heracles defeating the Nemean Lion. It was truly beautiful with the art, ale, and beautiful bar maids. It was everything Trenton loved. He sat expectantly waiting for those people he had earlier met. He sensed a certain destiny about them that seemed to emanate a sort of power and greatness. It was about time for trenton to go on another quest anyway.

Dov stood, the puppy still in his arms, and began to head for the door. He gave a thankful nod to the innkeeper and his wife. From there, Dov took not pause to leave the tavern, making sure not to make a noise when opening and closing the doors. The last thing he wanted to do was to start a fight in a place that he had no clue how it worked.

After a short walk, Dov had reached the Prancing Minotaur, the puppy still in his hands. After standing still for a moment to observe his new surroundings, Dov bee-lined to the table that Trenton was at. He then sat down directly across the table from Trenton.

"So, I am still curious about the strange ways this world works. I tripped over this little guy. He was not there when I began walking." Dov said, placing said puppy down on the table, where it took a sit and let out a single, happy bark.

He was learning a lot about this place just by listening to these guys. Nathan was still seated at the table listening to the stories and interrupting every now and then to ask a question. It appeared that not everyone who came here had powers but that some people did. He was pretty sure he wouldn't have any since he'd already been gifted youth once again. He figured there was no way he would win the lottery twice. He learned that once you ended up here you were pretty much stuck as no one could tell him how to get back home. He had inquired about what would happen if he were to die here but was just met with laughter. He figured they didn't really have an answer as to where you went and we probably just died for good.

Which was what he was zoned out thinking about when a man stood up and proclaimed to seemingly anyone that we had died and that if we weren't satisfied with this we should meet him in another tavern. He was going to just blow it off, after all he was starting to get a nice buzz and the stories he was gathering were pretty interesting. He had already learned of another town not far from here that he planned to visit in the next few days. Once he figured out how he was going to get some coin in his pocket. He was sure not every place was going to be as friendly as this one and just let him eat, drink and sleep for free. Then again, this was a place made of dreams. But the man who had previously been standing just a few feet from him disappeared with the snap of his fingers. He also noticed that people had quieted down as the man had begun to speak.

At the same time he noticed that a few others had recently come in and seemed as out of place as he did here. There was just something awkward to the way they fit into the people around them. The one who tripped over seemingly nothing before disappearing under the tables for some time. There was a girl who seemed to be having some sort of panic attack and another guy trying to apparently repeated whatever trick the important man had done. "At least I am not the only one new here. "

Once again though the thought poked it's way through his mind. He was dead and that man had absolutely confirmed it. It wasn't as bothersome a thing as you would think. He actually just smiled and thanked whatever force had made this possible. He knew it sure wasn't him and he sure didn't deserve this. But he was interested in at least hearing out what the guy had to say and made to stand. He said his farewell's to the people he had been chatting with and made his way out and through town until he came across one of the others. He was holding a puppy and standing in the entrance to a building he could only assume was the Prancing Minotaur. "Pft, what a name!" he thought as he silently followed the guy in and watched him make a b-line for the table with the man in the blue robe.

Instead of immediately following him he went to the bar and tested to see if he could get a drink or a smoke. He sure hoped that they had cigar's in this world. Even though he'd been given a second chance he wasn't above squandering it in booze and smoke. "Eh, give me a cold glass of yer worst and a fat one." Ordering it up he moved away from the bar in hopes of getting someone to bring it to him without him actually having to pay or explain anything up front. And headed straight to the table seating himself with a nod. "Nathaniel. What's this nonsense we are in?"

Trenton was quite happy when one of the young men from earlier approached him carrying a small pup.

"So, I am still curious about the strange ways this world works. I tripped over this little guy. He was not there when I began walking." The cloaked man said.

Trenton smirked as the pup barked happily. He emanated such innocence and purity. "He's a soul." Trenton said barely looking up at this newcomer. "He's bound to you." Trenton said reading the soul of this pup, but looking into it's soul he saw a powerful beast deep inside. "Do take care of him, he has put his soul in your hands. Literally." Trenton said then looking up. His eyes were glowing blue as they did when he focused very hard. Trenton hadn't told him, but the soul was identical to his. They were the same soul, but two parts.

Then another man, older came over. Trenton couldn't help but laugh and lean back. This one was much older than he appeared, you appeared in the dream world in whatever form your soul truly was. At heart this old man was young.

"Nathaniel. What's this nonsense we are in?" The older man asked.

Trenton looked this man in the yes though as he examined his soul. His eyes began to glow again. This man was deep, almost as deep as Trenton himself. He was hard to read because of all the different things his soul was. A warrior, a child in imagination, a ruler, and a good man. "The nonsense as you call it, is that there is a way to get back to that body. The one you're in now, in the real world." Trenton told him, but the other man as well. He took a swig of his ale as the glowing in his eyes subsided. This older man was like Trenton, he could feel it. His imagination was immense and could easily be used as a weapon, but the blade that was his mind was dull and required sharpening.

Dov took a moment to process the idea. He did not truly understand the concept, well not in detail. "So, which soul exactly? Is he a copy of my soul, my soul, or a completely different soul altogether?" Dov asked, tilting his head, and along with Dov, the pup did too. His voice only proved more of his curiosity.

Trenton sighed. He was tired of soul peering. He was already tired from his little teleportation act. He didn't need to waste some more energy to answer a question that had already been answered. "He's bound to you, he's a part of your soul." Trenton answered. He liked the curiosity, but asking the same questions would only leave them at a stalemate.

"So... What's your name friend?" Trenton asked the young man in the black cloak.

"Dov. And one last question about the whole soul thing. Being bound to me, does that mean that I feel his pain? When I tripped over him at first, my side began to hurt without reason." Dov stated. His pup had now taken a few laps around the table with a cheerful gait. It seemed so full of energy and innocence. When the pup did finally stop, Dov began to rub the pup's head with his hand, causing the little wolf to tilt his head towards Dov's hand.

Ryles chance to evade/escape the Manticore:

Awesomeness: 9/20
Logic: 9/20
Description: 16/20
Roll: 14/20

Ryle has 48% chance. He fails to evade the Manticores missiles.

One of the manticores horns flew straight into Ryles calf with great force, plunging into the flesh of his muscle and stopping at the bone. A very painful wound, but not life threatening. Yet. The manticore roared in delight and slowly wandered over to it's now incapacitated prey.

Trenton laughed. "you already know the answer to that Dov." Trenton told him. Then, something was ringing in his head. Trenton himself was just a dream, and there was a Nightmare nearby. He could always sense other dreams, good or evil. This one was far from good.

"Come with me." Trenton said. He grabbed the men by the wrists and his eyes glowed again, like they had when he manipulated the dream realm before. They didn't actually teleport this time, but more of levitated at a very fast pace through objects as if they were air. Trenton stopped when they were just a few seconds into the warp. They had arrived about a five minute walk out of Mantua, beside the crumpled figure of the other young man. "It shouldn't be this close to town!" Trenton cursed.

The manticore recoiled when three new targets appeared, but to it they were more food. The manticore launched out into a sprint and pounced at the man in the front who's eyes glowed with teeth bared and tail ready to sting.

Trenton raised his hand to the beast, but as it pounced, it passed right through him. Trenton himself being a dream couldn't directly effect the creature or even touch it. "Here!" Trenton shouted. With a wave of his hands The Nathaniel, Dov and Ryle were armed with swords and shields. "protect yourselves well. I won't let you die here." Trenton told them, then he dissappeared into thin air.

((footnote: This is an extreme amount of Godmodding on my part, but I can't let Ryle die this far into the RP...And; I want a little more action and excitement. This event will most likely scare the characters into wanting to go home, thus putting our RP in motion. If there is a problem with it I am willing to tweak this post.))

Dov had just grabbed the pup before he was grabbed by Trenton. Next thing he knew, he had a new sword and shield in his hands. That was right before he noticed the, the whatever it was. He could make out the outline of a scorpion's tail and the body of a standard beast, of which he could not tell.

Dov's panic set in, strike at the biggest threat or die because you didn't. One could say that Dov only fled when he thought, like he didn't have a flight instinct, but instead a flight thought. Never the less, Dov charged the manticore with his shield up and his sword at his side. His target was the tail of the beast, planning the use the shield to stop the teeth and claws long enough for Dov to stab the tail near, or at, the poison sack. If he was lucky enough, his strike would leave the sword stuck in the ground and the tail.

Dov's whole logical analysis capabilities had kicked in. His choice of the tail as the first target came with this simple thought, 'The tail has poison that kills within a single hit, the claws and teeth do not.' And the thought for the attacking was 'Have to kill it before it kills me.'

All the while, the pup ran behind a tree, likely too small for the manticore to even notice.

Nathaniel's mind was sent racing when the mystery man he would come to know as Trenton announced that not only was it possible to get back home. He could do so in this very body. What an amazing thought that was. But before he could open his mouth to say anything he seen Trenton's expression change to a more serious one. He reached out grabbing Nathan and the other man's wrists and his eyes began to glow. His protest was never heard as they seemingly began to float up, through the roof and into the air. They passed through the buildings, trees and people as if they weren't even real. It was a quick journey and experience though as he came to a halt in the thick of the woods. The light was waning but he could still see well enough. There was a man on the ground, one he noticed was from earlier, and what appeared to be some sort of lion not but a few feet from the man.

"It shouldn't be this close to town!" Trenton yelled before apparently trying to stop the creature. But it only passed through him like he was still unreal. Then he turned to them and shouted, "Here!" As he did so a sword and shield appeared in everyone's hands. It was apparent he wished for Nathan to help this man. The other man with him, Dov, charged forward almost immediately heading directly into the beast. Fool.

Moving forward a few steps, he bent down to check the wounded man. He had what appeared to be a large stinger-like bone lodged deep in his calf. Nathaniel had seen worse wounds from arrows but he knew the man was definitely not going to enjoy the next few moments. "I'm going to pull it but you will have wrap your own wound. Can you hear me? Do you understand?" He checked the man's face and he seemed to be lucid enough to have understood. He used the tip of his sword to cut a strip of the man's shirt quickly. Setting his blade on the ground he put the strip of cloth in the mans hand, removing the sword from his grip. Nathan then counted from three backwards aloud before yanking the spike out with a bit of trouble.

Soon as it was over he stood, no longer concerned with the man. He breathed deeply as he tightened the grip on his blade. Observing the situation between the lion like creature and Dov. Who was working his way behind the creature trying to attack it's tail. Knowing from experience that if the creature acts anything like an actual lion it wasn't going to allow that, Nathan charged forward yelling and clashing his sword against his shield trying to distract the creature for him. He was ready for it as he circled around to stay on the opposite side of Dov, hoping it would attack him instead of the fool.

Nate:

Awesomeness: 15/20
Logic: 20/20 (Saviour bonus ;) )
Description: 18/20
Roll: 18/20

Holy shit! this is possibly one of the greatest posts I've ever seen evaluated, good job Quantum. The Manticore was successfully distracted by Nathaniel. (71% chance to distract the Manticore.)

The manticore roared furiously as the man disappeared and he began to get charged. The Manticore could easily hear the man coming from behind him. The manticore was about to turn around and attack when his ears began to ring. He turned an had his tail plates made of hardened scale slashed with a sword. (The sword bounced off of the scale Manticore has 98/100 health left)

His companion started to beat his shield in front of him. The Manticores sensitive ears were being overflowed with pain from the sound so the Manticore lashed out at this man, jaws wide open and aimed for his throat.

Trenton saw the manticore lash out at Nate. Trenton cringed and hoped to god they would be alright. Trento reached out a hand at Ryle and probed his consciousness. He was beginning to bleed out. They couldn't leave until the creature was dead however, then it may attack an unarmed farmhand, and start terrorizing the town. Trenton allowed some of his massive pool of energy flow into Ryle to help speed the healing of the wound, and it began to shut, the pain would still be there for a while, but in a few hours he would be completely well.

((I want to make some adjustments to this system so that the modifier can go up to 100% instead of just 80%. But what else could I evaluate? Give me ideas in OOC will ya?))

Nathaniel could see as the creature was definitely in discomfort as he screamed and clanked his sword against his shield. His plan was working and the creature turned to face him. But at the same moment he had a thought that this might not have been the best idea. He stared the beast down as it angrily eyed him. He could both see and feel the rage within the creature as he stared at it's wild eyes. If it weren't so dangerous the beast would actually be pretty majestic. But he didn't have long to examine it before it moved to dash forward ready to easily crush him between it's jaws. Past it he could see that the man named Dov was trying to attack it again as he ran towards it from behind. Instead of rolling as he had previously planned on doing he waited staring into the open maw of the creature. It was obviously trying to take out his head or neck area by the way it tilted it's head and already had it's mouth open. He could almost feel the heat of his it's breath and smell the decay of past meals.

He didn't have time to think as he instinctively let his grip go on the handle of the blade, allowing it to free fall for only a fraction of a second before grabbing it by the blade and shoving his arm forward. He positioned the blade tilted in front of him so that when the creature closed it's mouth on him the blade would pierce flesh and inside before teeth would arm. This was a far riskier move but it would also allow for the other man to finish the hopefully stunned or seriously injured creature.

Soon as the blade was in position he would try to let go and pull his arm out before the jaws actually snapped shut, and he knew it was going to be close. He knew that because of the speed of the creature he would also likely regret both the impact of him and it's body or having underestimated the creature. Either way he was focused on saving both of these people and probably more if this thing killed them and got into the village.
