โHe is like ice. It's cold and cruel to begin with...but it's somehow beautiful.
And if you hold it in your hands close enough and long enough, it changes. It melts.โ

|| STRENGTHS ||
|| FLAWS ||
|| FEARS ||
He would tell you never amounting to anything, but that is simply because becoming notable is equated in his mind with love and admiration. He believes that if one becomes famous or powerful enough, everyone will care for that person but that simply isn't so. This idea is merely born out of his father's teaching and feeling under loved as a child. So his true fear? Never being loved.
|| GOALS & AMBITIONS ||
He longs to become an important ministry official, though he isn't partial to any particular position. He means to impress his 'friends' and family with a higher status and to become a master dueler.
|| SECRETS ||
He abhors his father and is a very lonely individual. All the money in the world and he really isn't happy or even fond of this person he's become for all the show-boating he does and confidence he displays.
โ"I appreciate your thoughts on the matter. I always like hearing your opinions...
Except, of course, in this instance when I am clearly right and you are clearly wrong.โ

|| PERSONALITY ||
Here's a walking argument for nurture vs. nature. Draven, you'll slowly come to see, is not all bad. Sure, he's an obnoxious, racist, twisted little creep with all the personal magnetism of a Boggart, but it's more the result of having the worst influences money can buy. His father is a dreadful role-model whom he resents which is ironic seeing as he has ended up very much like him. It's no wonder that Draven has grown into a bullying little twit; the real surprise is that underneath there's a spark of decency. Draven's attracted to the whole "pure blood" philosophy, but doesn't quite have the stomach for the brutality that goes with it - which is, I suppose, as much as one can hope for in this case. He radiates self-confidence and an aura of mystery, and his insightful observations, original ideas and formidable logic enable him to push change through with sheer willpower and force of personality and is adept at compartmentalizing his emotions.
Draven comes across as a cocky, snide bastard with a lion's share of confidence. Growing up he had more privilege than you could shake a stick at. Being waited on hand-and-foot and being taught that everything was 'Taunton above all else' honed his selfishness. He's sly and sarcastic and acerbic, and doesn't mind ruthlessly cutting down others to get what he wants โ it's simply lucky that he's never wanted for anything in his entire damn life. Because he has done reprehensible acts he has such a bad reputation, everything he says is usually cast in the worst possible light. An offhand joke is taken as a grave threat by others, just because it is spoken by him. He wields a constant smirk and looks perpetually bemused by some secret joke (and he'll gladly share it with you, and it's likely at your expense). But family is important to him more than anything: Drae genuinely loves his mother though he doesn't know how best to navigate in emotional waters. Draven is a mother's son, forever living in his fathers shadow but never being quite good enough for the man.

|| ORIGIN ||
London, England
|| HISTORY ||
Draven was born the only child of Lena Lerwick and Nicolas Taunton, who both came from old, wealthy pure-blood families. Both said families had traditionally been sorted into the Stark House for centuries and strongly disapproved of any relatives who did not follow this tradition.
Draven was thusly raised in an atmosphere of racism and bigotry with the ideology of pure-blood supremacy, although he was prudently reminded that such sentiments ought not to be expressed outside the small circle of the family and their close friends โor Daddy might get into troubleโ. The Taunton's were very proud of their pure-blood and social status. They spoiled their son, giving him the best of everything as far as material possessions go. The only hand-me-down thing Draven ever received was the old family prejudice against Muggles, Muggle-borns, half-breeds, and blood traitors; in short, prejudice against anyone who was not a pure-blood witch or wizard, or anyone who supports these types of people. In childhood, Draven associated mainly with the pure-blood children of his families friends, and therefore arrived at school with a small gang of friends already made. From this you might be led to believe he lived an enchanted life, both the proverbial and literal silver spoon in his mouth, but that is not exactly the case...
Enter Draven's father, ever absent parent, and when he could be bothered to be present, always putting Draven down. There was/is nothing he could do that was to be acceptable or good enough in Nicolas' eyes. Draven walks around with a permanent chip on his should because of this. He throws around his titles and his family's money and proud history, but bring up his influential father and he shuts down. There is more than a little resentment harbored for the man that had affairs with every nanny that came to raise the Taunton son.
