Gem Kenji

Don't let that innocent look fool you he eats people.

a character in “Monstrum's Asylum for Developing Monsters”, as played by Royalburden

Description

Name: Gem Kenji
Age: 17
Gender: M
Race: Ghoul
Can use magic | [n]

Racial Abilities
-Ghouls occasionally develop a secondary personality dedicated to hunting and feeding
-When under this personality their movements are much faster, much more unpredictable and erratic. They do things that are illogical when considering the need to protect ones self such as impaling one self on a blade just to get closer to the enemy and breaking their own leg in order to escape chains (I'll love you if you get this reference).
-Ghouls heal very quickly, against most human weapons they can be considered un-killable. However all it takes is a good cursed weapon to counter this and slow the healing process down. Even so best to bury the segments far apart when you're through dismembering him. Or behead him cleanly. Pop. Like a daisy, don't leave a single thread of flesh connecting that head! :3
-Ghouls can only eat flesh. Human flesh. Animal won't do. The flavor becomes rot and the quality will disintegrate into maggots in their mouths. Some have gone around this by eating only the dead. Grave robbing and hunting for suicide victims, some even pushing people to suicide themselves.
-My brand of ghouls do not have kagune. They are strong, fast and brutal and usually fight barehanded using bare fingers to pry apart flesh and flesh tearing teeth to take chunks out of their prey. Like vicious wolf zombies. Gem prefers to use a knife he calls "OneFriend". His one true friend.

Backstory
Gem had always been a ghoul, as where his parents before him. However, they sheltered him from the challenges involved in hunting and blending in. He was raised as a human with a very strict diet due to health problems in his youth. His mother prepared his meals even up into his teens feeding him this strange tender meat with every meal. Gem never complained. In fact most the time he wanted more of the meat than his mother gave him. Everything was fine for 17 years, he attended human school and got excellent grades even excelled to be an honor student. That was until realizations began to awake in him. He took closer notice at the food he was given, some sort of animal organ. Cooked and stuffed with vegetables and meat. The scent that came off it was irresistible, even more so than usual. He inhaled deeply allowing the scent to fill him, make his head spin. It wasn't just the lunch box. It was....everywhere.

Image

After that came the massacre. He lost his mind surrendering to his instincts to devour his own classmates. Children where torn apart. Made completely unrecognizable due to the chunks removed from their faces. The teacher tried to stop him by hitting him over the head with a chair. The chair broke and a chunk of his scull caved in in the back. Gem turned slowly towards the teacher, like a possessed soul, his glasses dangling off his face ignored. He made good work on that teacher's intestines leaving him twitching and groaning barely conscious with every chunk removed.

Needless to say Gem and his family couldn't stay there after that. It was much too obvious what had happened. One of the students had gone crazy and caused a massacre. Publicly they called it a mass shooting and after vigils and memorials the topic would cool down but the police and investigators knew they where dealing with a maniac with cannibalistic tendencies. In the end his parents, at a loss with how to deal with things sent him to the school and went into hiding on their own. Hopefully the school would do a better job of raising their child than they did. Not to say they didn't love him. They promised to send him letters as often as they could manage. They had only wanted a normal life for him, it just happened to fail miserably.

Other Info! :D
-It is unclear whether or not Gem actually developed a second personality as he doesn't always loose the memory of him going berzerk. He hasn't named the personality if there is one.
-Having second personality would make it easier for Gem to fit in. He could shelf the blame of his inhumane actions on something other than himself and maintain a squeaky clean record while also seeming innocent.
-Gem is smart, he knows this very well.
-Is that side of him REALLY a split personality?

So begins...

Gem raised his head at the sound of the intercom. Student council. The idea struck familiarity and served to calm his nerves. So it was like a normal school after all. He carefully adjusted his satchel and continued into the classroom. He bowed towards the teacher taking note of all the strange creatures in the seats. He didn't allow his gaze to linger on any of them for long for fear of drawing the wrong kind of attention. They all had a somewhat tense, hostile air around them like if you'd just walked in on a group of delinquents in the middle of them establishing their territory. He didn't think there was much difference in this situation. "Pardon, I'm Gem Kenji, a student in this class? I'm off to see about student council I just wanted to make sure you knew I was here before I went. I want to make sure I can find the main office on time, see."

He spoke in a low voice meant for the teacher to hear, not the entire class but still he could feel eyes on him as he did so. He glanced up and made eye contact with the neko boy by the window, basking in the sunlight. The boy stared at him with seeming uninterest but Gem couldn't help but stare at the ears perched on top of his head and the way the light shone through illuminating thin veins in the skin. He looked...like a character. Gem felt the urge to laugh at the strangeness of it all. This whole situation was crazy and he wondered how humans simply didn't notice any of this. Ghouls where meant to blend in so he looked entirely human, no pale complexion, no fangs or horns. His scent would be different but his appearance was 100% average. Save for his eyes, a dull purple, calm and cool. He could blend in easily if only it weren't for his newly awakened hunger for living flesh. There was something vastly different about it, the way it melted in your mouth the way it gave off heat through the blood, the smell of iron. Dead flesh was nothing like it.

Gem waited to hear confirmation from the teacher before he left to find his way to the headmaster's office in order to speak to him about being in the student council. He had an image to uphold after all. He pushed his glasses up the bridge of his nose and held his satchel close to him full of extra paper and writing utensils and the like. He'd conquered general education in his previous schools now it was time to ace knowledge in the supernatural as well.

From the message given by monstrum himself via the intercom, there were already a few students ready to accept the challenge of the student council. Vhal, who was busy staring at a fly buzzing around his head, quickly reacted to this. His head perked up with enough force to pull the other two up with him, waking Jodac in the process.
"For fuck sake, Vhal, what is it now?" Jodac questioned, irritated at the disturbance of his sleep.
"The student council sounds fun! I wanna go! Let's go! Let's go! Let's go!" Vhal replied, over excited as always, "Can we go, Dae? Please?"
"Dae, don't listen to the idiot. It's a lot of effort in the student council. I'd rather sleep." Jodac ordered in a begging fashion,
Conflicted by the two heads, Dae thought. Hard. Being the only head/personality which has some kind of logical thought processes left, it was always his choice on things to do. Using the other two as backups. Jodac would normally think of the simplest way to get things done, while Vhal usually went by impulse, but he also seemed to show some intellect at time. Which was worrying. For a head so laid back, a mind of a child and a retarded look. This intellect always gave off some fearful prospects, even other creatures grew scared of Vhal's strange aura he gave off...

Anyway, after thinking hard. Scheming even. Dae took control of the body and stood. "Yeah, let's go." Dae finally stated, adamant of his choice.

With the complains of Jodac and the cheers of joy from Vhal, Jodhal left the room. Heading towards the headmaster's office to join the student council...

It was a sign of the situation at hand where experts in a field resorted to crude, dirty measures just to get by.

It is considered a sign of mental strength to continue in the face of dire circumstances with few resources at hand.

It should be evident, then, that the individual who spent his time wasting away at endeavours that seemed futile and foreboding, with little but his own experience and knowledge to pick out a path to success.

But ends must be met, and jobs need to be done. So it was with no fanfare, but with a dull creak that the Maintenance Technician of Monstrum Academy climbed another rung on a superficially rusty ladder up to the gantry that ran above the spacious sub-basement central hall. His goal was a small array of studs that jutted out from a protective pipe that covered a large array of power lines. The reason said power line was protected by a pipe the tube of which was an inch and a half thick, and wasn't embedded within the walls like a normal power lines was because the machine that this line fed power to was finicky as hell at the best of times, and the feedback safety blowout capacitors needed to be in an accessible location, all the while not disturbing the direction of the high-end superconductor fibres that ensured a near zero loss in joules per metre.

Normally fine precision in instrument output wouldn't be a concern when the machine in question operated with tolerances measured by the gigajoule of energy, but it would be a bit of a bad mark on his resumé if he left that particular machine to its own devices, chief reason being that the end result would spell doom for the world.

On reflection, Strelok mused that this was one of the occasions where saying that phrase was not an exaggeration.

Thus, just like he recognized that he had a duty to protect the world from the Zone, he had a job and a duty to make certain that all machines in this sub-basement were functional and operational to a professionally acceptable standard.

And that's why he undid a catch, opened a hatch, unplugged a capacitor and promptly began whacking the component with a heavy wrench to diffuse the residual electrical charge.

The reason that he wasn't fried alive in the process of this was because he wasn't human anymore. The Zone's influence had warped his body, made him operate in ways conventionally physically impossible. As such, the capacitor which held seven point three one megajoules of energy discharged into his bare hand, and Strelok felt vaguely more awake, and slightly happier about life in general.

Humming a five-note tune normally played on his guitar, he began his inspection of the capacitor in his hand. The descriptive term was in truth a little misleading, because the device in question was actually a housing and a wiring array for a large number of capacitor devices. The frame and mount of the cylindrical device looked fine, and with an unscrewing of a few fasteners he took off the heavy inconductive casing. The internal structure best resembled an exaggerated toilet-cleaner, with a singular power distribution relay going up through the center and a large number of small capacitors (the actual component this time) were mounted on small copper coils. The fact that they induced a springlike action was complete coincidence.

The fact that he couldn't resist giving one of them a small poke and to watch the thing bob back and forth was a coincidence too. Your lies on the subject will not be heard.

Anyway, with that brief moment of puerile entertainment over he went properly about the inspection of the device. There was a distinct lack of a smell of fish strong enough to get a blind lesbian hot and bothered, so none of the capacitor components were burst yet. The utilization of cement as the resistant material for the electrical charge to be stored within was a fairly standard practice for the higher-end components. As a result, the device was of good quality, good integrity and would last for years yet, even if half of its capacitors were blown.

The malfunctioning part, however, was the top component. The energy diffusion device, which span a cooling system which was the bleed-off for excess power, stuck on a tiny stone of all things.

The man then felt a tingle on his senses, like wind across a fishing line. It was another gift of the Zone, an extrasensory perception which saved his life many times, and would save his life again. He looked up and saw one of the mutant Rats; supercharged with the energies emmitted by the machine which this power line fed and thus boosted to bigger, stronger, faster, meaner, smarter and deadlier than a normal rat.

With a quick gesture, Strelok stabbed the thing through the mouth. The animal did not budge, a surprisingly meaty specimen that it was, until he pulled his knife out of the thing. He then realized the animal was stick in the tiny drain-pipe within the wall that the gantry hugged. With the device in his hand, Strelok simply whacked the top part with his wrench and dusted it off with a rag. A quick test with an ammeter determined the device was functioning properly. Yes, sometimes that was all that was wrong with the machines in the sub-basement where he worked. Not often was it so simple. He learned to enjoy these days.

He replaced the casing of the capacitor device, put it back into its hole and screwed it in until the thing started buzzing with electrical current under his hand. Closing that hatch and sealing the latch, and then climbing back down the ladder, and the man was back down to the main level. A short walk later and he was at a staircase. A fairly lengthy ascent later, and he was back in the main floor of the Academy where he worked.

He was already composing in his head the report he would file to Headmaster Monstrum. Or as he liked to privately call him, Bigheadmastuh Shanayway. It wasn't like the other man didn't secretly call him names too. Or not so secretly in the rare times they decided to drink together. Calling each other names and drinking was all well and good for relations, but in the end he was employee and he was his boss. No reason to not be friends, but still.

Strelok was apparently so wrapped up in his thoughts that he didn't notice the next tingle across his senses, or hear the clack of a student's shoes on the tile floor coming around a corner. As a result, he walked out from the X-junction and blindsided a misfortunate student, walking straight into them and bodily knocking them off their feet.

A head-tilting array of curses were poised on the tip of his tongue, but instead he kept things simple.

"Are you alright, boy?" he asked, concern in his stance and posture. The student nodded in response, eyes avoiding him. Strelok extended his hand and helped the boy up. The student looked left and right, here and there on the floor.

"Are you looking for glasses?" he asked. The student nodded, still looking. "What is your name?"

"Gem." the boy said, still looking.... or striving to not meet his eye? Strange, but not any of Strelok's business. The man looked and found them eventually, picking them up and handing them to the student.

"Are you new here? I don't remember seeing you around." Strelok said, but anyone half-decent at social conversation could have seen it was just him asking that for the sake of asking that. Hearing a door at the end of the hallway open, he turned his head before the student - Gem - could answer.

He spied another student heading their way. A white-haired one. "You!" Strelok called out, waving him over. And apparently his voice and size - and he suspected the weapons and tools he carried openly - gave him authority without recognition of office, because the student promptly double-timed it over.

"You two head to the nurse's office if you feel like you're about to collapse. If not, keep on doing whatever you were doing." Strelok began, then decided the school-standard spiel wasn't necessary. "I'm a maintenance technician among the staff. If all goes well you won't ever see me in action. Here, take these." he said and passed them two Bandit-standard - and generally that meant rusted and beaten-up and uncared for, but Strelok had better principles than that, and as such these weapons were clean and well functional - Makarov PM pistols, along with a sneaky little trick that he invented specifically for occasions like this.

The mind was by no means an easy thing to manipulate. But Strelok, through the gifts of the Zone, could implant a prompt in things. A subconscious command, activated by a specific set of circumstances. Sort of like what hypnotism was cracked up to be, except this actually worked.

Be calm. You have a means to defend yourself. And it was activated by the holding of the weapons he handed them.

He figured it was enough to keep them from asking questions. And wow, he was really behind on time now. He gave a nod to both of them and promptly walked off without hearing their cries to him. He really had better things to do, now that was over.

And no, it's completely normal for him to hand out guns to schoolchildren. Why do you ask?

Strelok gave a wry smirk to his conscience. Because he was wearing his mask, nobody saw the gesture. And so he carried on, planning again to compose his report on the sub-basement system and what was wrong with the . Not that the report would actually immediately get back to the Headmaster, no, it was first parsed and filtered by whoever handled the papers he put into the mailboxes around the academy.

Gem peered down at the gun, as he straightened his glasses with his other hand. What the....

He glanced at the other student as the mechanic technician wandered off. "It's not every day a random adult gives you a firearm is it."

He turned the gun is his hand curiously. He knew the weapon well, despite having never held one in his life. "Makarov..." he muttered. He made sure the safety was one and looked around before putting the weapon into his satchel. "Best put them in here. I'll give them to the headmaster, I'm off to sign up for Student Council anyhow. This place is enough of a powder keg without weapons, don't you think?"

He smiled at the boy. That scent. It was familiar and stirred a very basic desire in him. He could feel it stirring in him, twisting his insides. It didn't come from the other student. Whatever he was it wasn't human. He offered his hand to him. "I'm Gem by the way. You really don't have to walk me to the nurse I'm fine. It takes a lot more than that to hurt me, despite how I look."

Xue fought the urge to cover his ears when the intercom crackled, his ears ringing from the overload to his sensitive hearing. Wasn't this supposed to be a school of the supernatural? Why couldn't they have a bit of consideration for the differences between species? Honestly. As if the assembly before hadn't been bad enough, all those people packed together, the scents mixing into an overwhelming, unidentifiable, horrible wave of body odor, unknown species, and suspiciously of some kind of animal and sex. It was disturbing and took him a full three hours to clear his nose out, the process involving a hair tie, a window, several stories of free fall, and several ribbons to distract the teacher.

But at last, fresh air! Xue wasn't quite sure how he was to be expected to survive in a place like this. Were there even any who obeyed the same cultural laws as him? Or were they all just a bunch of human-raised societally privileged imperceptible hemophobiacs? For the scents in that stupid cafeteria, he would bet on the second one.

Xue frowned up at the loudspeaker, wondering why he had chosen to come back in at all.

"YOU!" Someone suddenly yelled, and Xue twitched before turning to face the man, who smelled very oddly of a mix between human and something else, similar to how the air smelled right before a lightning strike. Xue arched a brow at him, eyeing the weapons strapped absolutely everywhere.

Hm. Maybe there were those who followed wild pack customs after all, from the way the person had challenged him so suddenly. Most likely, they behaved among themselves as their nature dictated, but left the other species out of it... he hoped the school board didn't interfere with such things, as after all, students could get seriously injured in a dominance battle. Foxes especially were fierce in their battles, their hierarchy even more clearly defined than wolves at times. This one didn't have the scent of Kitsune blood though, so the school would probably be angry if he hurt the person too badly - he obviously wasn't a student after all, and they might be angry if he hurt some random civilian.

Meeting the others' look with a steady gaze, Xue made his way quickly over, narrowing his eyes to show he wasn't going to back down and holding his head high even though it exposed his throat slightly, as the person was taller than he. Did this person think so highly of himself he thought he could take on a Snow Kitsune? Ridiculous, no one could look down on his kind. Xue almost hoped that this was the highest Alpha - at least he could prove his kinds strength right off the bat. On the other hand, he hoped this guy wasn't. Other than the scent of energy, Xue could not perceive anything all that special in his movements that would say he could match a wild Kitsune in a spar, though simply the way he stood could at least tell Xue that he was far above any of those weak little humans, so he might be quite interesting to play with after all. Thus, the only thing Xue would have to really watch out for is whatever that scent of energy entailed. If he could control lightning or something, he may have to be careful; lightning caused fire, and fire melted ice.

Xue shifted his stance ever so slightly, preparing to spring into action, allowing the challenger to have the first move when- "You two head to the nurse's office if you feel like you're about to collapse. If not, keep on doing whatever you were doing." The man said.

... What?

Collapse? Just how overconfident was this guy?

I'm going to crush him, Xue decided. Screw what the rules might say, how dare this human challenge an Alpha! How dare he think of my kind as so weak!

"I'm a maintenance technician among the staff. If all goes well you won't ever see me in action. Here, take these." The man said, a cheerfully tossed a couple of weapons from his belt, one to him, and one to the other student. Xue blinked, only just now really registering there was someone else there, having passed the kid over in favor of the challenger. This one smelled too human to be anything more than subordinate level, so Xue had naturally passed over him, only vaguely registering that there was another there. However, the man's words drew his attention to the boy a bit. With the sudden challenge, Xue had assumed the other scent must be the man's pack, forgetting for a moment that humans didn't run by the same pack principles. For Kitsune, it is a commonly accepted rule that an Alpha fight is to be left alone, only watched from a distance to observe the fight. Both their customs and instincts demanded they keep clear.

Do humans not do that? He had handed us weapons. For humans, is it that the Alphas have their subordinates fight to the death before ever joining the fight themselves?! That's horrible! Absolutely sickening!!! How could they?! Their own families...!

Xue looked down at the gun, the same kind of weapon that hunted his kind for nothing more than sport, and curled his lip back from his teeth in a snarl, knowing that if he were in his true form, his fur would be bushed out so far it would feel tingly as air hit his bare skin. I should kill him. I should kill him right now...

And then the man turned his back and walked away, back down the dark basement stairs.

"It's not every day a random adult gives you a firearm is it." Xue heard the other boy speak up, and raised his brilliant teal eyes to stare at the boy. His scent was strange, the heavy scent of death laced into it and the scent of blood a bit more powerful marking him as mostly carnivorous kind, but unmistakably human in nature, the boy was no forest creature disguised to fit in, that was certain.

Was he not the man's pack? Then why had he stayed to observe the Alpha challenge? Why hadn't he run? He had heard humans had far duller senses than foxes, but was it really so far that the boy hadn't detected the scent of his anger?

The boy put the gun in his bag and looked up at him with a friendly smile. "Best put them in here. I'll give them to the headmaster, I'm off to sign up for Student Council anyhow. This place is enough of a powder keg without weapons, don't you think?"

Xue stared owlishly.

"I'm Gem by the way. You really don't have to walk me to the nurse I'm fine. It takes a lot more than that to hurt me, despite how I look."

Xue tipped his head quizzically at the boy, replying purely because of that teacher earlier who yelled at him to make more of an effort to be human, knowing that humans would reply with some kind of comment, and he might get in trouble if he didn't.

Besides, he didn't mind indulging the boy a bit. His obliviousness kind of reminded Xue of one of his little siblings, and he was an Alpha. The younger and subordinates were the Alpha's to take care of, so yes, he must respond to the lower ranked one. But what the heck would a human say in a situation like this? Hm... some kind of reassurance that he was not harmed either, and that the challenge had not phased him, as he was an Alpha... "I wasn't even the one run into, yet he thought I would pass out. Damn idiot." Xue replied hesitantly.

The slightly surprised look on the boy's face made Xue think he had thought wrong. Maybe he truly hadn't scented that Xue was an Alpha, and only just realized?

Humans were so goddamn weird.

ImageThomas took the moment to let his gaze wander through the group of students that remained in the sparring class. That one boy that had glanced in looked and even felt like a human. His soul that was. Thomas wondered what he was, he couldn't have been human since he was there. He shrugged it off inwardly and observed the introduction to the sparring room. As he listened his gaze strayed to the other students that remained. Thomas, although he spent his life in the thick of humans he hadn't really come into contact with other people of supernatural nature. He took notice of the ghost wondering how something with no physical manifestation would fight in Sparring. He stared at her momentarily. Thomas was a minor god whose specialty was the manipulation and care of spirits and he'd never seen a spirit take form like that. 'Perhaps human souls are different in some way.' He thought. His mind wandered to the little boy whose soul he'd touched 18 years ago. It would have been nice to have him linger for a while. Tom didn't get a chance to thank him after all. The boy had given him a purpose that meant something.

Thomas snapped out of his reminiscence to observe the rest of the class. He dove his hands into the pockets of his fake fur lined coat. There was a female with an aura that seemed to draw on him like the scent of catnip. He twitched his nose at the sight of her delicate china doll like features and her vibrant red hair. A delicate coppery iron scent came from her. Whatever she was required a significant amount of blood he assumed. Not too far from her was a guy with an obnoxiously confident look on his face. He didn't have any horns on him or anything but Tom had a feeling that he wasn't one to be fucked with either. He averted his gaze. The other girl there with them seemed to have a hostile air around her, she reminded him of those people forced into the same room as cats who would almost seem to fold into themselves whilst attempting, uselessly to shoo the cat away. He smirked at the thought. Cats had a different standard for who is acceptable and who isn't. Not being incredibly social cats will cling to the one who is least clingy, or the one who wants them around the least. He smiled warmly towards Shame and waved, the tip of his tail twitching this way and that.

Gem meanwhile took a closer look at the student he was with, bewildered by his response. He let his hand drop feeling as if he'd stumbled into a new country and done his greeting terribly wrong. He couldn't help but think that this person operated on a completely different wavelength than he did. He thought about this momentarily and took in the student before him he adjusted his glasses needlessly. White hair, a distinct ozone scent like the scent before a storm, a winter storm specifically. Gem assumed it was due to some sort of snow related power. His shape was utterly human like himself yet he gave off. Ah...that's it. I completely overlooked it.

"I apologize, having lived with humans all my life I've yet to identify and understand other supernatural beings. You're a kitsune aren't you? I've read all about your kind but I've had yet to meet one in person." He explained, bowing in apology. "I'm a ghoul. Not particularly strong by your standards, probably but incredibly durable and very hard to kill. Thank you for finding it worth your while to speak to me."

It pained him to stoop like this. Inwardly he gritted his teeth, a more bloody ruthless nature writhing in thoughtless annoyance. It wasn't as if he could eat him so it bewildered him a bit to feel such a reaction. That side rarely stirred when he wasn't hungry. He may not taste good but imagine what his insides would look splayed across the floor!

"Well, I must get on, Student council and all....ah....where are you headed?" He asked, ignoring the thoughts seeping from the dark corner of his mind. On the outside he maintained his innocent weak looking nature, a delicate smile on his lips.

Xue blinked, finally seeing a gesture he recognized; the boy, Gem, was sizing him up, classifying him, deciding where he stood.

"I apologize, having lived with humans all my life I've yet to identify and understand other supernatural beings. You're a kitsune aren't you? I've read all about your kind but I've had yet to meet one in person." Gem began. Xue tipped his head ever so slightly; the boy didn't know his supernaturals well, and yet could tell by what he did know, and apparently by scent if the little tip of the head that Xue knew was to go by, that he was a Kitsune. He gave a small bow that Xue determined must be a human form of recognition.

"I'm a ghoul. Not particularly strong by your standards, probably but incredibly durable and very hard to kill. Thank you for finding it worth your while to speak to me." Gem continued.

Xue returned the greeting with a nod, as he didn't exactly have ears or a tail in this form to communicate with as he usually would, which at the moment felt incredibly strange as his body gave the command for his tail to flick. "Xue of the Snow Kitsune." He responded, again tipping his head. Gem's body language was stiff; he didn't like having to submit, like a young dog fox encountering the territory of another elder Alpha, but the rabbit was right there, just within the territory lines... that situation had been so annoying.

The scent of blood and death in the boy's scent wavered slightly, flickering stronger for a moment. Xue opened his mouth ever so slightly to draw in the scent, wondering at the change. All living creatures had the scent of blood and death, but it was much stronger in this boy than other humans. Was that because he was a ghoul? And interesting effect of his kind, to change the very scent. Was it particular to him for those scents to become stronger? If so, how was he supposed to differentiate between Ghoul and Human, if the scent could change? Xue's mother had once said he had a bit less fox in his scent than most Kitsune, replaced with a slight increase in the scent of cold, but snow after all didn't really have a scent, merely made the air cleaner and cooled it. Xue kept his ice abilities firmly reigned in while inside the school, to prevent freezing the other students, so it wouldn't have to cooling effect just then, leaving only the crisp inflection. Like mint, perhaps. But his scent had never wavered. It was interesting that it was possible to do so. Emotion could make slight changes in a scent, but the base scent would always stay the same.

"Well, I must get on, Student council and all....ah....where are you headed?" Gem inquired of him.

"Nowhere really. Just... wandering." He replied vaguely.

Gem hiked up his school bag a bit, glancing down at it, where it contained the gun. Which reminded Xue...

Xue walked over to the nearest window, and opened it as wide as it would go, and then took a three steps back, glancing at the gun in his own hand one last time. Then he lunged forward, and leaned into the stance to the point of almost loosing his balance as he threw the gun out the window just as hard as he could, making sure to direct it upwards a bit so that it would be enough to break the metal when it came down to earth, and allowed himself a small satisfied smile as he saw it cut through the air like a bird and sail far enough out that it would fall all the way off the steep drop of the mountain into the dip below. After a moment or two it disappeared from even his advanced sight.

The tiny smile dropped when he turned away from the window and into a curious look again as he saw that Gem was staring at him. "I... don't like guns?" Xue attempted, looking from the window back to Gem again.

Image Gem stared, astonished as he watched Xue pitch the firearm out the nearest window with a strength and velocity he'd never quite seen before. Ghouls did have their own brand of strength derived almost completely by the maddened rage that comes with the desire to feed. It wasn't really a kind of strength you could control with reason or training for that matter. "Nice pitch." he muttered watching the gun disappear with a glint of metal.

He should have asked Xue to throw his gun away as well, so that it would simply be destroyed but something in the back of Gem's mind told him to keep it in his bag. He couldn't have explained it if he wanted to. "If you like you can come to Student counsel with me. It beats going to class. Those who make student counsel will get to determine some of the main activities for the grade, as well as organizing clubs....if this is similar to a human school that is. I'm not entirely sure what the rules here are. Or you can head off to Sparring. I doubt you need to be taught how to fight though."

Gem gave Xue a half smile then turned to head on towards the Headmaster's office. If Xue wanted to follow and join him he would. He was a little curious about Xue. His mannerisms where different, no doubt he learned interactions differently. Kitsune had other forms after all perhaps he communicated like a wild fox did. Gem mentally pictured Xue with a cartoon pair of fox ears, a tail, and a pair of exaggeratedly large pair of paws panting and waving his tail back and forth like a pleased puppy. A quiet chuckle snuck it's way out of him at the thought. Decidedly Xue would look comically adorable as a fox neko. Gem doubted Xue would appreciate the thought and decided to keep it to himself.

Xue watched as the gun disappeared with a dramatic twinkle of sun against metal.

"Nice pitch." He heard Gem murmur, and merely shrugged in return.

Gem turned to leave, and after a moment of deliberation Xue followed. Despite his love for testing out his strength against opponents, being in a room with a whole bunch of other people and outright fighting them, even if it was not with intention to kill, did not sound enjoyable. Despite common rumor, foxes were not vicious by nature; they didn't like spilling blood and preferred avoiding encounters with stranger packs rather than fighting. It wasn't that they had an aversion to it, they would not back down if challenged; they just preferred not to unless there was an actual reason. Playfighting among packmates was one thing. Testing your skills against another simply for the sake of it in an outright fight was another.

Xue would prefer to have time to observe his classmates before he would fight against them. Going into a battle against strangers, no matter how minor, was something to be careful about. He would watch the others fight before he would ever join that class. Gem said a good way to decide ones activities was to join this council thing; perhaps going to this meeting thing would be best, regardless of following this curiosity of a human... ish... person... creature.

With that in mind, he trotted after, with his natural short, quick gait, and noticing the tap of shoes against floor was far softer when he walked than when the human did, wondering why they walked in such long steps, as it was something he noticed most humans did. "No, I don't partially need to be taught anything on that particular front. Humans however, now that is another matter. What does a bow mean in human culture? It looks strange." He responded with a faint, nearly unnoticeable note of amusement.

There was always one student who questioned the value of the sparring class. This year it just so happened to be the headmaster's boy, bringing an evil grin to Kaen's face. He gestured to the ring and watched as many of the students made a path for Randal to move through.

"Be the first to enter the ring and find out." The ring itself was enchanted by Karen to erase any and all fatal damage that is done inside the ring. If (and when) someone would die in the ring they are knocked out instead, but with the full appearance of harm. Pain was still present and minor wounds wouldn't be stopped, but that was all part of the fun.

As Randal entered the ring Kaen tossed him a school training sword then held one sword up for the class to see. Anyone want to challenge him to a friendly brawl? The winner of this match gets 1 Silver star and a free magica act from yours truely."

He made the same offer every year he has been a teacher, and helping the winner was always fun. Last year the student saved her act until hallows eve and asked Kaen to conjure up a party, which in the end shut out that nights dance. Monstrum wasn't happy with that but got over it shortly after.

Shame looked over from the boy to the warlock. She saw a student enter the ring and smiled. She rose her hand as markings appeared on her skin. "I will challenge Randel to a brawl..." She stood from her seat and walked over to the warlock and held out her hand as he set the sword in her hand.

She gripped it tightly, closing her red eye as she entered the ring. She could smell his aura, which only made her smile, her canines poking over her lips. She pulled her hair up in a high ponytail, leaving down her bangs and got into a stance, her feet promptly side by side, both hands on the sword and faced her opponent.

She hopes that the sand and flames don't go out of control...

Image Gem smiled gently as his assumptions were confirmed. Xue really wasn't familiar with human culture. "It's a form of respect." He stated simply glancing over at him as they made their way towards the headmaster's office. "Although the specific meaning differs depending on where you are. In western countries bowing is reserved for royalty and is generally an outdated thing to do. For westerners bowing was done to kings and queens by common men and women curtsied to show respect. Eastern asian countries still bow to show respect for elders and people of higher status, bosses and teachers. It's more of a greeting yet still a sign of respect, like shaking hands. I bowed to you because from what I read about kitsune you hold value to pack mentality and the ideal that superiority lies in strength both physically and in the blood. If one were to compare us strength wise I'm sure you would win simply by control alone. I may have the confidence that I could tear you apart but that doesn't change the fact that you probably have more experience and control over what strength you do have. You are superior in that. Also I wanted to be sure you knew I didn't want to fight you. Bowing is a quick and easy way to show all that in one motion I guess. I probably wouldn't bow to most others, I'd shake their hands or simply introduce myself but that all depends on how familiar they are with humans."

At that point they where down the hall from the Main office. Feet from where the headmaster told the students for Student Council were told to go. "I was raised as a human, human culture is second nature to me, if ever you have questions feel free to talk to me about it, alright? I'd be happy to explain anything." Gem smiled warmly towards Xue, his sweet, innocent, terribly nearsighted pale violet eyes contradicting the subtle scent of bloodlust radiating from his petite form. His very existence seemed to be nature's greatest oxymoron.

Image Thomas was taken aback ever so slightly by the girl’s reaction to his near meaningless action. For a split second he thought he caught a look of disgust cross her violet eyes but it could well have been his imagination. Whatever magic she had control over seemed to be in motion almost constantly around her, it made the hair on the back of his neck stand on end.

It seemed some cocky student had decided to throw up a challenge. Thomas watched with vague interest. He had absolutely no motivation towards taking the challenge himself. He was just a cat what could he do? He could barely hold a single cat soul in his current form and knew nothing of the human fighting techniques people primarily used in spars like this. He did come there to learn after all.

His interest peaked however, when the young girl with violet eyes answered the challenge. ‘Frankly I hope she wins. The guy’s a bit of an asshat.’ He thought to himself. “Good luck.” He murmured to her just for her to hear before she went to answer the challenge in the ring. His tail flicked to the other side but he stayed in his casual stance, hands buried in the pockets of his fur lined jacket.

Amelia StuartImage
The boredom she suffered within the class was proving to take it's toll on Amelia, she stood at the back of the crowd watching and listening silently as the teacher picked out the necromancer, and asked the class for an opponent. The shady-looking girl bravely stepped up to the challenge, and that's where Amelia lost interest. It clearly wasn't going to be a fair fight. In the cover of the hype from the other students, Amelia slipped into the shadows and made her exit, putting her parasol up once she was outside the class and roaming the halls to block the suns rays from her delicate skin.

The hallways were just as boring as the sparring classroom, lined with antiques and classic paintings - Amelia had seen such decor many, many times before coming to Monstrum. Regardless, she just kept walking and walking until she'd eventually come across the dormitory block, to which she entered in order to look around and find her assigned dorm room. Amelia took the key given to her at the front desk from her pocket and fitted it into the lock, turned the key and went inside, slamming the door behind her with a heavily sigh as she put down her parasol and grabbed the nearest sheet she could find, stringing it up over the windows to give her some shade before she sank back onto her chosen bed and closed her eyes, hoping to sleep until nightfall.

ImageAiko Nozaki
Once out of the basement, clutching the two requested items tightly to her chest though making very sure not to damage or even scuff them as she scurried down the hallways and back to the office area. As she made her way back, Aiko passed a considerable amount of students which all seemed to be heading to the office, the thought of so many students heading that way made her somewhat nervous - but then she remembered that the demon science teacher, Imdius was put in charge of the student council, and so her worries were eased a little.

Yet still, she wanted to help however she could, which meant putting the items down for a mere moment so she could set up a blank sign-in sheet labelled 'Student Council Members, Sign Here' and placed it down on the front desk, making sure it was visible to anyone entering before picking the items back up again and giving a small knock on the Headmaster's door before entering, "I found the items, Sir" she hurries over to the desk and carefully places each item down, stepping back and resting her arms behind her back with a polite posture as she waited for feedback.

Sen had to admit, the Harpy's little sneeze was quite, cute. Usually the Demon was one to be quite flirtatious with all species and genders. It was more of a game to him than actual attraction or love. If he wanted to sleep with someone he had to be attracted to them though, he himself being quite vain only allowed the best looking to lay a hand on him in that way. But at the moment, he was still trying to get over the fact he was at the school in the first place. Being a bit of a whiny baby would surely annoy someone eventually enough to kick his ass. "Brienne and Beau." Sen muttered to himself, making a mental note of the two females name.

He couldn't help but roll his eyes at what seemed to be the Botanist teacher's remark on how great her class would be. We'll see. He thought to himself. Well at least he now knew he was right about Beau being a teacher. Despite her quite laid back attitude he could sense that authority vibe she probably unintentionally gave off. Maybe that was just her height again? Nonetheless he continued down the hallway, looking at the signs and navigating his way around.

Until the Harpy could be heard calling out from behind him, followed by another gust of wind, messing up his hair once again. His face turned sour and it was clear he was annoyed. Letting out an irritated sigh, he fixed up his hair once more, and turned slightly to look at the Harpy. God she was so dopey he thought. The teacher had already left for her question to reach her and now he was stuck with her. "Alright alright, just enough with your flapping if possible. You keep messing up my hair." At this point, Sen was too bothered to be mean to the Harpy, exhausted perhaps? When they get to the office, his energy will be back up again.

He walked silently, slightly glancing down at the Harpy from time to time but that was about it. The Demon was concentrating on the signs and how to get to the Headmaster's office. He was growing more annoyed however as he noticed he had passed a certain classroom twice already. He could already imagine the Harpy suggesting they ask someone for directions which he'd reply with I'd rather claw my eyes out. However, surprisingly he was lucky enough to overhear a conversation between to male's; all he heard was something to do with the council or something relevant. And so his brilliant plan was to follow them, and so he did. "Ha ha! That wasn't so hard, if you stick with me you'll never get lost-" He cut himself short from bragging as he realised he pretty much told Brienne that she could hang around him? Or at least that's how he saw it. He just shut up completely, cocky smile fading, and kept looking forward.

The two stopped at a door, one of them quickly opened it and everyone was inside. "Damn, three people here before me." Sen cursed to himself. He wanted to be the first but he wouldn't have made it in the first place is it weren't for the two other students.

Sen felt a bit uneasy as he could already sense the mixed species and the vibes they gave off. Their aura's were all different and he had never been in an environment like this before. The other Demon in the room caught his attention first is it was something he was used to being around. Sen wondered if perhaps this Demon would remember him or know of his status. Hopefully he would, it would be nice to get some royal treatment after being without it for roughly twenty minutes. "I just wanted to start off by saying that I think I would be the best option to lead the student council." It was far too quiet for his liking, everyone was just staring at one another, being weird and stuff. Besides, he wanted everyone to know how confident he was. Sen was getting a bit excited now, he was pretty pumped about the student council idea and there were a lot of attractive faces in the room, even more fun.

Running a little behind after being distracted by a squirrel, Jodhal ran through the hallways. The two heads, Jodac and Dae, argued with each other about going in the wrong direction as they did so. Vhal, on the other hand, was too occupied with the dead squirrel held in his mouth.
Finally, they had made it, the doorway labelled 'headmaster' was in their sights. Hopefully they weren't too late. Believing they had no time, Jodhal ran straight through the door, bursting into the room, skidding to a stop perfectly in line with the other students. "We're here for the student council sign up thingy!" Dae stated, not realising that it hadn't even started yet. "Oh, cool we made it." he smiled with realization.

Finally, the aspiring council members has appeared, and what a variety there was. All of them ranged in morphologies from a harpy to a demon, this could lead on to an amazing student council. If they all had the ability to do it. The worst case scenario would include all of them being incompetent fools, which could be a high possibility when it came to Imdius' consideration. Sadly, there were more than three, which would make this even more annoying, Imdius happily agreed to this because he thought it would be a simple job to do, after all, who would want to be in the student council? Apparently these guys...

Wait. Imdius thought as his mind fell back to think about the narration some more. Demon? Looking straight over towards the source of the demonic energy, Imdius instantly recognised the familiar figure. Sen Jumin... A sudden smile spread across his mischievous face as the demon prince heir made his egotistical statement. Ahh! What an amazing time to be a teacher! I was gonna give up teaching and go start world war three by convincing Putin to press the big red button! But that can wait! This little shit is here! How amazing! As a teacher, I can order this little shit around, I can scold the bastard if he starts acting like a dick! As Imdius was thinking all of this, he was already moving quickly through the room, seemingly dancing as random objects came into appearance around him. A desk, computer, phone, it was as if he was making plans and working on some kind of administration in such speed, typing away faster than anyone could, talking on the phone in some sped up voice. I'll have to put Putin on hold. Oh, but I don't want to loose such a great customer, I want him to summon me again. I'll just tell him to collect the seven dragonballs and wish for immortality in case it takes too long. That'll do! Oh, but I wanted to go back to hell to see my wife and three kids, it's been such a while... Imdius continued thinking to himself as he played with the strange floating equipment.
Suddenly, he stopped. The equipment quickly disappeared into a puff of smoke which mixed in with the smoke from Imdius' cigarette as he continued smoking away. "Wait, I don't even have a wife and three kids... He spoke out loud, not realizing it as his mind came back to reality, his smile returning to his face, this act threw Imdius into some strange pose; Leaning back on nothing, fingers pressed against his forehead as his other hand cupped around his elbow. Everyone could even see the SFX 'COOL MODE ACTIVATE' appear over his head as a small giggle was emitted.

"Now now, little boy. That kind of attitude is not that attitude of a successful leader. After all, we need to take all participants into consideration; I am Imdius! PhD in whatever-the-fuck-I-want. I'll be in charge of the student council and your science teacher."

Brienne dropped to the floor, her talons clacking softly against the laminated tiles. She hadn't meant to irritate Sen with her flapping, but it was her fastest mode of movement. Her grounded gait looked strange, something between a lope and a hop, a bastardization of a human's walk and the tiny bouncing of songbirds. Her long, peppy strides kept up with the demon rather easily, but she still felt uncomfortable about it. Plus the cool tile against her feet sent an occasional chill up her slim legs.

Measuring the time by the quiet click of her claws, the harpy wondered why her request for directions went unanswered earlier. Sen seemed just as lost as she'd been earlier. Brienne heard the voices a split second before her companion started following them. Stalking behind two other people to find the headmaster's office seemed creepy, but whatever worked. Better to seem creepy and get going than wander the halls until they both died of old age. Wait... could he even die of old age? The harpy didn't know much about the internal biology of other magical beings. She decided to stop thinking about it too hard, nothing much she could do either way.

"...Stick with me and you'll never get lost..." Brienne internally raised an eyebrow at that statement. From the way he acted, she got the feeling he wasn't one to make or have friends. He simply gave off the air of someone who didn't have the empathy to care about anyone but himself. She didn't say anything about it to him, but it made her curious. Could her feeling be wrong? She'd wait and see.

Squeezing into the headmaster's office behind the young man who led her here, Brienne cast her sharp chocolate eyes over everyone assembled. A red-headed man with strange red eyes lounged in the room before they'd arrived. Something about him struck the harpy as... odd. She couldn't place it. Beyond that, he stank of cigarette smoke. Brienne scrunched up her nose to try and force the pervading scent away from her nostrils. The next person she noticed as one of the two they followed in. He looked human to her, only his lavender eyes standing out. Perhaps he was a mage? She made a note to ask him later. The other of the two gave her a sort of monochrome feeling. White hair and eyes that hovered between ice blue and a pale green, accompanied by white and black clothes made her wonder where he came from. Certainly not anywhere she'd been. He too appeared human. Strange.

The area felt suddenly... incredibly claustrophobic. Resisting the urge to throw out her wings and make space for herself, she settled with ruffling and fluffing out the feathers on her wings, rubbing them together in front of her for a moment. Enclosed spaces didn't usually bother her, but so many people in such a relatively small space bothered one of the older, more animal spots of her brain. If something went wrong, there wouldn't be much room to maneuver. Not that she expected anything to go wrong, but the feeling lingered with her still. Sen spoke first, claiming his intent to lead the council. Behind her, she noticed the Cerberid-creature shove its way into the room, making her even more uncomfortable with the squeeze.

Swifter than a falcon, she used his simple statement to springboard into her own pitch. "I don't care about being in charge of the council, but I feel I'd make a great addition. I'm Brienne Showalter." She turned towards the taller red-head, who she assumed was a staff member. "I don't have as much academic experience as some people, but I have other kinds of practical knowledge, including but not limited to: counting and assigning supplies, navigation, financial math, assigning tasks, checking inventories, teamwork, and foresting." She studiously avoided mentioning anything about physical or magical prowess, neither of which she'd ever been particularly good at. In fact, she'd only ever been in one fight in her life, and she still had the scars from the draw. "Anything else I can probably learn with some training." Her amicable smile faded on the walk to the headmaster's office, but it returned in all its brilliant glory as she finished her statements.

Despite her relative confidence in her statement, a twinge of nervousness thrummed through the harpy's body. Maybe she'd come on too strong? Her feathers fluffed up again and she nervously pushed her hair behind her left ear with her wing. Maybe they were supposed to wait for the red-head man to ask for their pitch. Too late to take it back now. Brienne's mountaineer spirit flared. So be it. Whatever happened, happened, and she wouldn't be sorry for it.

Image Gem slid into the office along with Xue and the rest of the students that arrived around the same time. He could feel his mind gradually seething in annoyance as arrogant characters such as Imidius and Sen Jumin, demons...of course, made themselves apparent. They Flaunted their demonic natures like a pair of sweaty jocks swinging their manhood around trying to see which had it bigger. Gem meanwhile had no trouble disappearing in the background arms clenching his satchel his vague harmless gaze frozen in place like some sort of badly made plastic mask. He relaxed after a moment of adjusting and his gaze took on a more cool and calculative nature. Making Student counsel with this lot was going to be a challenge. However there wasn't a single problem he couldn't study his way through. He spoke up clearly, addressing Imidius, offering a hand to shake his sudden movement contradictory to his previously invisible stature.

"Sir, I am Gem Kenji, I've completed up to 11 grades of education with A levels in all general education classes as well as completing several electives including musical education and the fine arts. I've participated in Student council at human schools since the start of Highschool and am very familiar with the processes involved in establishing school clubs, organizing class treasury, and have managed to sucessfully pull off a trip for 500 students to travel across state to Florida without a single hitch. I'm probably more familiar with humans and their culture than anyone in this school and though I don't know much about monsters of any kind I assure you I'm a quick learner on ALL subjects, supernatural or no. Leader or not I hope you find me a necessary addition to the student council here."

Gem spoke with a strange kind of passion, his delicate violet gaze sharp and laser-like with the determined passion only a true nerd like him could achieve. He pushed his glasses up with a slender finger, only increasing the image, waiting for Imidius to grasp his hand and complete the shake. In times like these it was necessary to be abnoxiously arrogant, if only just to be seen. Imidius was looking for a leader, he would be that leader at all costs.

If all else fails....I could eat them all. He thought. He smiled, the corners of his mouth curling into a grin giving him a creepy, knowing look. "Let's face it, demon. You don't care about who runs this mess, you just want it to be entertaining, don't you?"
He hissed the words under his breath, barely audible but his eyes said it all quite clearly. Demons where very simple creatures when you got down to it. They all just wanted a good time after all. Their idea of a good time wasn't all that unlike his own.

Rook smiled as more entered the Headmasters office and he comfortably sat back and seemingly invisible from the rest of the group. They were all very interesting and no one seemed to be related at all by species or other wise, they were all strangers. Really this seems like the beginning of a game or a action movie of some sort but of course to a human it would be the beginning of a fantasy. His gaze gravitated around to the louder men and then on to the rest as he soaked in the sight of them all, this is who he maybe meeting the most. The people he will know for the school year, maybe even more than that if he stays and if they do. But first they have to go through with figuring out who will do what on this council if they dont all kill or eat each other first. With a raise of his hand he spoke in a sturdy baritone "I will volunteer to be the Secretary."

As people entered the office, Xue only got more and more tense; the place was getting crowded, and Xue wasn't necessarily the most accepting of strangers. The boy who smelled strongly of lizard, the girl who smelled of death, and the two adults were only the beginning though, it seemed. The first arrivals entered as the black-haired girl left, catching the door before it swung shut.

The first to arrive after them was a boy and girl. The girl smelt of a summer day and, well, birds; which judging from the wings she had instead of arms, was probably normal. He vaguely wondered if the purple hair was natural for her kind. With the supernatural, you really never could tell if it was natural or if they had dyed it, either as some attempt to fit in or out of rebelliousness in an attempt to be more human. She looked uncomfortable in the tight quarters, even more than Xue was, her wings twitching every now and then as if she wanted to fly away from this place. To her, he realized, it must be like a cage with so many people. She probably preferred nature, just as he did.

The boy though, he raised Gem's hackles with the way he scanned the room, as if not seeing them, but not because he was unable; he was dismissing their presence as if they weren't worth consideration. "I just wanted to start off by saying that I think I would be the best option to lead the student council." He stated.

Xue couldn't help it. He almost... laughed. Just because one was a strong fighter, did not mean they were a great leader, as this boy seemed to assume, though it was obvious from such a statement that he fully expected to be such. To be an Alpha was far more than ordering others around; it was taking their lives onto your own shoulders, no matter their burdens. It was a dark and weighty thing; not something to flaunt. One who could be so outwardly sure of himself as being named leader could never be a good Alpha, most likely didn't even understand what it was to actually be a leader. And then this guy comes in here like they were beneath him and instantly declares himself Alpha, unaware of how ignorant that portrayed him as; it truly was laughable that such a person even thought he was Alpha material.

Nonetheless, Xue could tell he would be a strong opponent if they were to battle. Being strongest of the pack was certainly a large part of being leader, as the Alpha was the one the pack looked to for guidance, and to save them in times of trouble; but it was not everything. Even if they were to have a dominance battle, something he assumed the school wished to avoid, Xue would never accept this person as his Alpha. However, more to the present situation, the room was small and there were a lot of weaker people, whom Xue would rather avoid harming; it was not the time or place, should the other attempt to challenge his fellow Alpha. Thus, with narrowed eyes, he edged backwards even more, preferring to watch happenings from the outside and allowing the wall to protect his back, observing from the shadows, as was a normal preference for foxes.

The girl spoke up next. "I don't care about being in charge of the council, but I feel I'd make a great addition. I'm Brienne Showalter." She stated, and then paused as she looked around at the gathered students once more before turning back to the teachers before continuing. "I don't have as much academic experience as some people, but I have other kinds of practical knowledge, including but not limited to: counting and assigning supplies, navigation, financial math, assigning tasks, checking inventories, teamwork, and foresting. Anything else I can probably learn with some training."

The girl, now dubbed Brienne, once more glanced around the room, her feathers rising as she met each gaze, and shifted nervously, her head dipping a bit in a bird-like way. Then as if something occurred to her, she straightened, head held high. Xue let her presence slip to the back of his mind; she had identified herself as both not much of a threat, but also spirited, the kind of person he could get along with. There was no need to be wary of her presence, so he let her presence slip into the same place Gem's was, the stage right above background noise and focused on the thing that was more important right now; observing, critiquing the other strangers with those critical eyes. Deciding who was friend and foe. He noted with a glance that the was a careful look in Gem's eyes, despite the vagueness of his expression, revealing to those who knew how to look that despite seeming as if he was spacing out, the was very much paying attention. Gem was worried about he other presences himself; as if Xue would allow a fight to break out with ones such as he and the Brienne girl in the room. He turned his eyes back to the strangers again, this time with traces of malice for those who would cause subordinate types to worry; it was seen as low to not inform others of your status when one first meets in the ways of the Kitsune. Yet another reason to not like the human world.

The door burst open again, revealing... a three headed dog. Alright then. Xue tipped his head curiously at the creature, as it went over to the group of students and sat down. "We're here for the student council sign up thingy!... Oh, cool we made it." The creature informed happily. Xue blinked couple times, staring, before his eyes cut to a red-headed man as he stepped forward to address the crowd of students speaking first to the arrogant black-haired demon boy.

"Now now, little boy. That kind of attitude is not that attitude of a successful leader. After all, we need to take all participants into consideration; I am Imdius! PhD in whatever-the-fuck-I-want. I'll be in charge of the student council and your science teacher." He introduced, smirking at the overconfident demon boy. Xue decided that he and this man would most likely get along; he seemed to understand, at least to some extent, what it was to be an Alpha - and his attitude even seemed to be similar on some ways to Xue's own, thus they would probably be able to see eye-to-eye on many things.

And them Gem took a step forward out of the crowd, a determined light in his eyes, and began to speak. Leader or not I hope you find me a necessary addition to the student council here."He illustrated at length, in a clear tone, offering his hand to Idmus, which the teacher accepted. Gem smiled. "Let's face it, demon. You don't care about who runs this mess, you just want it to be entertaining, don't you?"

Xue allowed himself a tiny smile; he had judged Gem's strength of character correctly, despite the front he put up.

"I volunteer to be secretary." The white-haired boy whose scent was of lizard followed up, raising his hand and then putting it down again.

Xue took another glance around, and then reviewed what information he had in his head as the group waited for another to speak up, then reluctantly realized that it would have to be him that was next. "I suppose it's my turn then." He sighed, taking a step away from the wall to address the teachers, gaze steady. "I am Xue, the Alpha Pup of the Western Kitsune Tribe. I'm not applying for the leader's position, though. I was not sent to this school to learn of my abilities; I was sent here to learn the ways of humans, and how other kinds interact with them. As such, I think a position on the Student Council would best serve my education, as a way to see past the surface of things, a behind-the-scenes place if you will. That is why I'm not applying for the leader's position; however, I do have experience leading, much more than any other student in this room in would seem. I can offer the leader my support through advice and long experience, explain things about leadership the one elected probably wouldn't even realize about such things otherwise. As such, I volunteer for one of the other two positions, and I vote for Gem and the Harpy, Brienne to be elected leader and other member." He bid at length, and then stepped back to the wall, word quota of the day completely overtaxed, and looked to the students to see which one would be brave enough to step forward next.

The Headmaster stood at his desk and gestured for Imdius to exit the room. Once he was sure the demon was out of his personal space, he advanced and locked it, letting the teacher handle what was now his responsiblity. He still had many things to plan. From his position in the center of the room, Waylen began to pace along the werewolf fur rug. As he circled, a sickly green rune began to appear, weaving its way around on the dark, matted fur, creating what could be described as a celtic knot. Words that changed too quickly to read began to scroll through the twisting lines inside of it.

Waylen "The Hunter" Monstrum clicked his lips together as a foul oder like that of rotten alcohol mixed with rotting eggs took to the air - no doubt smellable to the students outside - and clawed its way through the air. Waylen didn't mind, he had grown acustomed to the smell a while back.

The Slime that appeared seemed more like a ball of rot and rust than a war machine that could wipe out thousands of armored infantry in the span of an hour, but it quivered with the potential power within it, waiting for its masters orders. "Abberrant #151,000. I dub thee... Tim. Your job this year is to make quite certain that the town of Sanguine is protected from human and monster alike. I urge you to burn the Monstrum Family Crest into their village sign, so they know that the school year has started".

The Abberration jiggled excitedly, shifting between an amorphous blob of wrongness and poison and more recognisable forms - a diseased animal, a dying child, a beating heart - before bounding off towards the door. It slid itself beneath the hard yew, undulating at the sight of the gathered students and the teachers before rolling off down the hall, dissintigrating anything not stable enough to maintain connection to its body.

Over the intercom, the now calmed voice of the headmaster chimed out. "Students are urged to ignore any abberrations marked down in chapters one through nine in your textbooks 'Monsters for Dummies.' Thank you, and have a nice day."

The top-hatted figure then walked to the door of his office and opened it, yanking his gorgeous secretary into the foul smelling room.

"Do you think I'm afraid to hurt a girl, or something? Randal said, slamming his faux sword down on the ground, nearly snapping the tip as he took a combat stance. "She's just going to use magic, anyway. Demons always do." His foot slid forward as he spoke, and he switched the sword around in his hand, holding it with the "blade" pointed down. "Now, gorgeous, I don't want to hurt you. I seriously don't. Maybe after this we can grab a bite to eat?~"

The boy suddenly dashed forward slamming the handle of the sword into where her gut should be - if she didn't move, that is- and spun, slapping her just as hard with the faux blade. "Sword fighting is so 15th century anyway."
