Introduction
However, man found himself coveting the beauty of one kind of horse a little bit too much. Unicorns have been hunted for their horns for thousands of years. During the 20s and 30s Unicorn horns were a must have accessory on the walls of any rich man's home. Giving a women a unicorn horn was like giving her diamonds! Just like the furs of the rare cats they were wearing back then, they had no idea what they were doing to the population of the beautiful unicorns. Numbers began to shrink, horns became rarer and more valuable.
However not everyone was so blind to the devastation, in 1984 a women named Vivian Hines (1940 - 2004) founded Moon Light Stables. The unicorn breeding farm on more than 5000 acres of land housed the worlds largest herd of captive unicorns in the world. The stable facilities includes a fully equipped specialized veterinary care center, outdoor holding areas that lead inside to a stall, unicorn maternity ward, training and riding arenas, a gift shop and 1 or 2 eating places for the visitors, a two story office building where they also hold fun classes for children (like zoos and museums do), a show area where visitors can pay to come see a show where unicorns do tricks (similar to lipizzaners), a path for carriage rides gussets can go on for a small fee, a field for the tame unicorns to roam in, and a huge patch of land where the unicorns who aren't kept for riding or training are set free to be wild and untamed, just like they were meant to be.
Yes, other than their horns unicorns are really no different from any other horse. Why did they evolve to have horns sticking out of their head? No one is quite sure, old legend and stories say the horns hold magical powers. Biologists and scientists think it's something more along the lines of defense, attracting mates, or a show to intimidate predators. They do know that unicorns use them for fighting and winning mates, but WHY they NEED horns to do that is the mystery. They could do those things anyway without them.
Unicorns can be any color but their horns pearly white or shiny gold. Baby unicorns are born without their horns but begin growing them at about 3 months of age. Other than the obvious difference, they're just like any other horse with different personalities and tastes. However, they are twice as dangerous. Unlike all other horses (with the exception of a mother with a foal), they will charge with the intention of impaling you with their horn. If a wild unicorn has any reason to think you might be a treat to him or the herd (or especially a foal) unless you have some means of deference or escape, you are pretty much done for. Unicorns have been known to stab a man through then toss him straight in the air by rearing up, then going back in for the kill, sometimes by stomping. They won't charge as readily as rhinos, but it's still best to keep your distance. However, tame them from a young age and you will have a horse just like any other.

One thing that's unique about Moon Light Stables is their Young Horsemens Program, invented because unicorns need one person to bond to, and there just aren't enough staff members for the job. Anyone ages 14 - 18 can come work along side the staff to help run things. They're given their very own baby unicorn to take of and learn to train how ever they like. They can choose to work with the trainers who break the unicorns in for riding or pulling carriages, they can choose to work with the vets and go to college for it after words if they decide they want to continue to work in the field, they can even choose to train their unicorn for dressage or rodeo competitions. But what everyone will get out of it is a life long friend. One thing unique about unicorns, they tend to get attached to one human and stick with them, much like some dogs do.
Your options in the Young Horsemens Program is:
Training for regular riding, trail riding, and if you want carriage pulling.
Training for rodeo competitions.
Training for dressage and jumping competitions.
Training for entertainment.
Veterinary work
Everyone learns basic horse care and do not have to learn any sort of training method or veterinary if they choose to keep their unicorn wild and set them with the herd. However if one chooses to do this they should not bond with their unicorn as they will be unable to become a wild horse at that point. Everyone will work closely with the staff to learn everything they need to know about caring for their unicorn and how to save the beautiful creatures.

Our story begins with a new set of kids for the Young Horsemens Program. Maybe they've had horses before maybe this is all new, whatever the case, there's a bunch of new babies who need owners! The year is going great until the unicorns, even the tame ones and even baby ones who are supposedly safe behind stable walls start turning up dead! Their horns missing, it's obviously poachers trying to get rich selling them on the black market.
All the adults can think to do is scout for poacher traps and keep a closer eye on things. But the new teenagers can see that it'll take more than that if the unicorns are going to be saved! Now it's up to them to figure out who's doing this and how they can stop them!
We will start with everyone arriving for the year (they live at home and go to school then can drive back everyday to take care of their unicorns during school time). It's the beginning of summer and all the babies born that spring are ready to start bonding with a human (or get ready to be set free, in which case you simply don't bond with them).
The adults also say unicorns don't actually have any kind of magical powers, but then again look at their lameo protection methods...

You'll decide which field you want to go into, everyone will get to know each other and have a lot of time to hang out and talk in between working with the staff who will be all NPCs. Feel free to just make them up and play them as needed, they don't have to have a very big part. You get to play your own unicorn but no separate character profile submissions are necessary for unicorns. The unicorns do not talk beyond the ability of regular horses, unless somewhere down the road everyone decides they want them to, along with some magical powers if we want them to they will if not then not it's up to everyone playing. Your unicorn can be any crazy color you want but I would prefer to keep the horns white or gold.
Character Profile:
Just use the one that's already there and say which field your character will be training in, but make sure to tell us about your unicorn as well.

"Danny, Cody and AJ, it's Melody." One of the staff members spoke. Melody was the one that most people enjoyed, she was always there when one of the Kids needed her, and she was also the one that's always willing to go that extra step to help train the kids.
"Hey Melody, it's Cody, I'm listening." Cody replied back to her, waiting to see what she had to say.

"Not a problem Melody. Do you have a list of the group that's coming in?" Cody asked. He pulled his truck up to the door, and climbed out, placing the radio on his belt where he usually keeps it. Cody looked around and then began pulling the barrels of hay off the back of his truck. Once he finished unloading his truck, he began taking the hay to the storage area where they usually keep the hay. "Thanks Danny for getting that done for me, it's a great help." Cody said as he walked by Danny, with two barrels of hay in tow.
