Introduction
The small town of Glasshollow, Alaska, is much more than it seems. In addition to the human population, two families of supernatural creatures make this place their home for over a century: The Blackwater werewolf pack and the Westerfield vampire coven. The humans are well aware of their presence and in fact have made treaties with both groups.
The Blackwaters and Westerfields created a peace treaty soon after they settled the area, but lately tensions have been running high. When the young werewolf Matias Blackwater was murdered, the pack blamed the vampires for his death. The vampires were outraged that they were accused of breaking the treaty. This led to hostilities between two groups who previously had all but ignored each other.
But the younger members of both groups are not as eager to lose peace, the young Blackwaters not convinced of the Westerfields' guilt and the young Westerfields suspicious of something else trying to incite war. Can they prove to their leaders that fighting is not the best solution?
Although there are two set relationships, this roleplay is looking to find what each supernatural resident of Glasshollow is experiencing during this time. Feel free to collaborate with others to create more IC drama.
What the Blackwaters and Westerfields don't know is that there is something awful headed to Glasshollow. Despite the peace and secrecy negotiated with the humans of Glasshollow, a group of hunters have caught wind of the supernaturals in the town. These hunters are humans that see the creatures as monsters, and they use their unwillingness to fight against them. They killed Matias Blackwater and framed the vampires. A war between the vampires and werewolves is just what they want to distract the families as they pick them off one by one.
Lead by [Patriarch] Westerfield, the Westerfield Coven is founded on tradition and honor. They rely on both animals and blood banks for food, and if a human is down on their luck, they may find it profitable to sell a pint of blood to the vampires.
As the oldest remaining Westerfield, [Patriarch] has been in charge of the coven for over a thousand years. He was furious to hear of [Matriarch]'s accusations, and he is adamant that the entire pack apologize. Or there will be blood.

Nuit is not so involved in the politics of the coven. She has been secretly dating Eoin Blackwater for the past month, and they shared a very close friendship growing up. They did not intend to keep their relationship a secret at first, but when Matias Blackwater was found dead and fingers were pointed they decided that it was best they didn't tell their parents just yet.

Lead by [Matriarch] Blackwater, the Blackwater Pack thrives on loyalty and honesty. They eat as humans do and are known for their philanthropy within the community.
Leader and founder of the pack, [Matriarch] was horrified by the murder of her younger son Matias. The markings on his body and the knowledge of werewolves that his killer must have had led her to suspect a member of the Westerfield Coven as his murderer. She has banned all Blackwater werewolves from fraternizing with any Westerfield vampires.

Eoin is his mother's faithful second in command. He is just as determined to find Matias's killer as she is. He has been secretly dating Nuit Westerfield, and she was with him when he found his brother's body. While he is absolutely certain that no Westerfield vampire killed Matias, he doesn't have solid enough proof to convince his mother. Because of this, he has hidden his relationship with Nuit, which is no small feat with parents like theirs.

Traveling the country in search of monsters to kill, this group cares little for peace treaties or claims of benevolence. They intend to send the Westerfields and Blackwaters into full-on war with each other to weaken them. Then, they will pick off survivors while they are killing each other.

Vampires can go out in the sunlight, but they sunburn easily.
Their skin looks like a washed out version of what it looked like when they were human. Or, if they were born a vampire, what it would have looked like as a human.
They are stronger and faster than humans and about equal to werewolves. Their sight, smell, and hearing is vastly superior to a human's.
Weaknesses include wooden stakes and a rare herb called locksvern.
They must be invited into dwellings of others.
They can drink human blood or animal blood. Human blood tastes slightly better to them, but animal blood is not that far behind.
Born vampires age until they would be fully grown as humans, and they often end up looking like twenty-somethings. Otherwise, they will usually age to when the parent of the same sex stopped aging. There are cases when the age freeze will be completely random, but it is very rare.
Turned vampires stop aging immediately.
Werewolves can turn into their wolf form (regular-looking wolves that range from average size to donkey sized) whenever, but they are forced to turn for the duration of the full moon.
They are equal to vampires in strength and speed in either form. Their sight is barely above that of a human, but their sense of smell and their hearing are greater than even vampires and receive a boost in wolf form.
Weaknesses include pure silver and wolfs bane.
They eat human food, just in very large quantities. They prefer meat to vegetables.
Born werwolves age until they would be fully grown as humans, and they often end up looking like twenty-somethings. Otherwise, they will usually age to when the parent of the same sex stopped aging. There are cases when the age freeze will be completely random, but it is very rare.
Turned werewolves stop aging immediately.
A Westerfield vampire does not necessarily have the last name Westerfield. In fact, few do. Only relations to the family are expected to have the family name. The same goes for the Blackwater werewolves. Occasionally, when going outside the town of Glasshollow with coven or pack members, they will take the name and pretend to be family. This is only for secrecy purposes. Both the pack and the coven, however, are very tight-knit. All are considered extended family and treated as such.
The coven's headquarters lies in Westerfield Manor, just north of town. The vampires can choose to live in the Manor or to get their own place. Both options are fairly common.
The pack's headquarters are located in Blackwater Estate, just south of town. Just like the vampires, Blackwater werewolves can choose to live on the Estate or in a place of their own, and both happen with equal frequency.
Over a century ago, [Patriarch] Westerfield, [Matriarch] Blackwater, and the then-mayor of Glasshollow called for a meeting between the three species of Glasshollow in the interest of avoiding any bloodshed within the town. While things were not hostile at first when both coven and pack migrated to Glasshollow, there was definite tension between the three groups. This meeting, attended by the leaders of each group and their closest advisors, saw the drafting of the Glass Treaties. Every resident of Glasshollow over the age of 16, regardless of race, gender, or species, was called to vote on their ratification. This is the origin of the peace. Since the passing of the Glass Treaties, vampires, werewolves, and humans have had a friendly coexistence in Glasshollow. Friendly rivalries have even sprung between two species, as was often the case between the Westerfields and the Blackwaters when a charity drive is involved.
Recent years, however, have seen a decline in the contact between Westerfields and Blackwaters. What once was a friendly relationship has since become strained, and the two groups began to all but ignore each other. The recent murder of Matias Blackwater, Matriarch's younger son, has sparked tension and hostility between the species.
Westerfields/Humans:
No Westerfield vampire shall feed on/turn/bite/kill an unwilling human, except in self defense or the defense of others.
No Glasshollow human shall knowingly injure/kill a Westerfield vampire or one that has proclaimed peace except in self defense or the defense of others.
No human resident of Glasshollow shall purposefully reveal the existence of vampires to any human outside of Glasshollow.
Westerfield vampires and the humans of Glasshollow shall provide protection for each other from threats to both species.
Humans or vampires, whether Glasshollow residents or not, found in violation of the treaty shall be tried by a jury of both species. Punishment shall not be unreasonable.
Westerfield vampires shall act in accordance to Glasshollow's laws, as any other resident would.
