Introduction
"You don't live in the world you think you do...."
The classic line used before you're about to be told a bunch of things you don't believe before slowly backing away from the probable psychopath who just told you said things? Yeah, it is but as crazy as it sounds – it’s true this time. We really don’t live in the world we think we do. Things really do go bump in the night, and vampires don’t sparkle. Werewolves don’t always kill on the full moon, and shifters are as close to human as it gets. Witches are good, and Warlocks are bad. Humans aren’t always oblivious and the world wouldn’t be like this if didn’t have a means to handle it. They’re called hunters.
For as long as there have been supernatural beings – there have been hunters. Historically huntresses, if you want to get technical, but these days anyone can be born into a bloodline family of hunters, and even ordinary people can choose to walk in their footsteps.
They have a code. Morals. A bit self-righteous but wouldn’t you be too if you had this deep-rooted need to protect the innocent? Hunters keep the peace and up until now we’ve been living in peace.
Brookview Valley, Connecticut.
Nowhere special to the untrained eye but if you’re up on your reading then you know that one of the most notoriously skilled hunting families inhabits and protects this area: the Grey's. The story of Kyla Grey is as legendary as it gets, the story of Lilith Grey is tragic, and in their wake they left Annabelle Grey, and her feeble attempt to stay out of the family business crushed. It doesn’t matter how young you are, if you’re a hunter then you know who they were.
The oldest Grey child had no problem following her families legacy making her Father proud, that was until she came across the Alpha of the Werewolf pack that had recently returned to the forest on the edge of the town, surprisingly under her families keen radar. Her father always spoke about how when you meet the one there is no other of course her one was a Werewolf, and his one, his mate was a huntress. As much as they might fight it, the pull to one another will only grow stronger, the choice is: Fight it and destroy themselves or give in and break every rule each side has ever had.
That isn't their only problem, the humans aren't the only one's in danger, the werewolves are as well, their reason for returning to the protect forest of Brookview that they were once driven out of years ago.
