Zahina gently grasped his hand and shook it. "Nice to meet you Ali. I'm Zahina. And I'd love to see some of your work!" She let go of his hand after a few seconds. "Are you in the night class too?" she asked him. She really hoped he was because maybe she could become friends with him so she'd finally have a friend. She did have one at one point who had helped her translate her amulet, the one she always wore around her neck, but he had been older than her and had graduated already. She felt her amulet hanging down around her neck now. It had belonged to her father at one point, but had been given to her by her mother right before she had died. The memory of her mother's death still haunted her, but not as much as what she had found out about the amulet...and her father.

ivy fluttered her eyes open and yawned. after she got out from her nice and warm shower she drew a little the she must have fell asleep. she looked at her art book and saw a scene she must have drew. she smiled, while she did so her throat burned. she hated it but she had to have a small amount of blood. she remembered she hadnt drank blood for three months now. she got up and put on her hoody and a pair of jeans, and you cant forget the converse high-tops. once her hair and teeth were brushed and she had her hood up with her sunglasses on{since her eyes are sensitive} she left. she walked down and tripped on the stairs knocking her glasses off. she bite her lip with her fangs and she sighed.why must i be the klutzy one? she asked herself.

Elina stood near her closet, focusing on the small piece of wood she had set on the floor. All she had to do was set it on fire gently, and then quickly put it out before her whole room set on fire. Her cat Jiji watched speculatively from the top of Elina's bookshelf as she took in slow, deliberate breaths, making herself relax and open the imaginary bottle Elina thought as her elemental magic.

She closed her eyes, and pictured the familiar bottle, a tiny wildfire raging inside the glass. All I have to do is open it slowly, she thought nervously, apprehension filling her senses. She took a small breath before picturing herself tediously pulling at the cork. Elina almost had it open, and she could feel the immense heat she usually felt when trying to open the bottle. The fire ran from the tips of her toes to the roots of her hair, but it wasn't uncomfortable. Actually, if Elina had to pick, fire was her favorite element to work with.

Now was the time to recite the small verse she had came up with the night before, the one that would allow her to control the tiny bit of fire she pulled out. Elina licked her lips before whispering quietly, "Les gardiens du Sud, vous invite à l'aide me dans cette orthographe petites puissances de l'énergie et il sera et passion, guidée par le feu, je demande que vous suivre sur moi comme je fonte."Reciting spells in French was easier for her, much to the chargin of her teachers, and to be honest she thought it sounded much more beautiful in French.

But something had gone wrong. Maybe she'd forgotten a word, or hadn't been careful enough in pulling out the cork. Suddenly the cork had popped out of the bottle, and small explosion went off, both in Elina's mind and room.

Elina opened her eyes immediately, only to see her door had mysteriously opened, Jiji was running down the hall, and her carpet was in flames. She paused for a moment, panicking about the fire and the possible punishment for vandalism, trying to decide whether to run after Jiji or put out the fire. She grabbed a water bottle of her desk and began sprinkling it on the fire. After a couple of seconds of no success, Elina took no time in preparing a stupid verse. She simply thought of a river and water, and for the first time, water obeyed. Well, for the most part.

With the fire put out and her whole room flooded, Elina raced down the hall she'd seen Jiji go down, realizing he was making way for the gardens. Once outside she began to scream hysterically, "Jiji! Jiji!" Maybe it was a little dramatic, but Jiji was the only gift she'd ever received from her mother, and he was proof that for a little while Marie Van Jardin had been in her right mind.

Ali shook his head "Unfortunately i'm not, i'm full human. But i hardly sleep anyway so perhaps we could meet up whenevers convinient for you i suppose" He explained stepping slightly closer to her, Zahina was the only person that Ali had really talked to out of the night class mainly because he tried to stay away from them but she seemed harmless enough.

Kein nodded and smiled, taking her words at surface value. It made sense, if her skin was that pale she would certainly burn easily.
He was slightly surprised at her request, but he understood why she was acting as odd as she was; she was lonely. "Yes, I'll be your friend." He nodded, his voice and consistent smile slightly more solemn "I need a friend too. I don't know anyone here." He thought of saying 'But I don't like making promises' but he knew that would only make Dahlia feel worse so instead he continued "And I'll try to be there for you as much as I can." Just saying the words made Kein'Vei feel more comfortable, instead of awkward like he expected. This was a chance to settle and make an impact on people; he liked being nice.

A quick scream shattered any silence that the morning birds allowed with their constant chorus. It quickly brought Kein's attention across the garden. He saw a horrific scene; from the burning of several thatched village hut smoke rose and darkened the sky, casting shadows over dying and slaughtered families as dark, monstrous shapes moved amongst the flames. The 17 year old gave a moan and dropped his head into his hands, squeezing his eyes shut. A moment later, when he emerged from his hands, all he could see was what looked like a startled girl and the camera boy who seemed to have provided the fright. Of the other dimension there wasn't even a shadow.

Soon after a ball of white fluff flew, meowing and hissing into the garden. The startled cat, as it only could have been, disappeared out of sight. Then after that another interruption entered the area. This time in the form of ragged, possibly wet looking girl. She dashed out through the door and started calling at the top of her lungs 'Jiji! Jiji!'. The cat owner's voice held a hint of an accent, exaggerated in the screams. Although Kein'Vei had too little understanding of the dimension to recognise it.

Zahina smiled and nodded. "I-I'd like that!" she said, very happy that she had made a new friend. "I'd like that alot!" She blushed a little, her cheeks turning deep red, though she tried to hide it. She looked up again and saw that the sunrise was almost over. "Well, I should probably get back into my dorm room now before the staff gets after me. It's past curfew for us." She gulped, looking at him. "W-would you like to come with me?" she asked nervously as she stood up and put her messenger bag around her neck again. She picked up the raggedy ann doll and gently stroked, not realizing she was doing it of course.

Dahlia smiled a very large grin, Kein had accepted her request. She felt like all of her fears could go away. Maybe this place wouldn't be so bad, so scary. She felt a little guilty at the same time. Kein didn't know who she was really. She began to let worry enter her again thinking that maybe he wouldn't accept her if he knew. She tried to chase the thought out but it wouldn't leave, it lingered in the back of her mind, taunting her imagination. It was then she heard a moan escape from Kein. She had to turn her head slightly to bring him into her field of vision but he was kneeling down with his hands in front of his face. He was motionless and his face was contorted as if he was experiencing some sort of grand horror or pain. She rushed over to his side her thoughts leaving her mind. "Kein? Kein!" she put her hand on his shoulder and looked at him bristling with worry "Kein, are you alright?........ what.....what happened? you look like..... your in pain." She knew he was. She could recognize the look on his face easily, for it had once decorated her own.

Kein smiled comfortingly at Dahlia, it was weird, the younger attempting to support the elder. He noted slight dark spots below her eyes as he replied "I'm alright. Don't worry about me, I don't" He grinned at his feeble joke, although he truly did not dwell on the odd visions. He paused, trying to find words to explain, "I... see things" He began "They're really quite horrible. Its all really complicated, I don't understand myself." He smiled back. "You look tired, do you want me to take you back to your room?" He offered gently "You're in the night school right?" He stood up and then realised how he towered over the young girl and crouched down again.

Elina paused, frantically glancing around and silently thinking over and over, Merde vous, mon petit chat devil! Suddenly she remembered the other time he had escaped out of her room, where he'd gone straight to the garden that was used for the garden club, but Elina had found him right before he could nibble on anything. She took a few hesitant steps before bleakly realizing he could already be eating a poisonous herb that would make him throw up all over her room. That would definitely not smell good in the morning, she decided as she sprinted into the garden.

The garden was thriving and green, but there wasn't a familiar white fluffball in sight, and a knot began to form in her stomach. Elina was soaked, not ready for class at all, and was wearing only a tank top and boyshorts in a public setting. And she had no idea where Jiji could even possibly be. What a great day this is turning out to be, she thought sarcastically as she took one more look around the garden and began to slowly walk towards the school, staring at the chipped nail polish on her toes. He'll turn up, and if he doesn't I can always resort to a finding spell, she reminded herself, trying to be optimistic but finding it extremely hard.

She remembered when her mother was still sane as clearly as if it was only yesterday. Her mother had her own routine she would follow throughout the day, with Elina watching her every move carefully. First came getting ready for the day, and then after that, it was whatever Elina wanted to do. Some days they'd go swimming, and other days they'd try to find faeries in the woods behind their house. Her mother always smelled like the fancy perfume she bought when they went Paris, which was regularly. Elina's family lived in a small town right outside of Paris, and it had always seemed magical being able to see the Eiffel Tower and the city whenever she wanted to.

Elina missed everything about her home, and planned to live there again after graduating. She considered the school only a path towards freedom and living like an adult. She didn't really want any ties to the school, which was why she didn't have many friends, except for a handful of close cousins that still lived in France. That didn't mean, however, she never got lonely or jealous of all the airheaded classmates who walked around Mountain High as if it was their own little social palace. In fact, there were times Elina wished she had one person to talk to in person, but she would never voice this out loud, even to herself.

Zahina smiled and giggled a little too. "Well, stay close, ok? We may have to take the long way to avoid the R.A's and the other staff members." She began to lead him into the school and up the grand staircase. Up and up she went until she reached the tenth floor. She then looked around and started walking down the hallways, but would peek her head around the corner before making a turn. Left turn, straight, right turn, left turn, straight again. She made sure she was walking slow enough for Ali to keep up, but it was still a long way. The halls were empty now since it was past night class curfew. She passed another R.A desk that was empty and took a left turn, then walked straight for a while and took another left. Finally she stopped at a door and smiled. She turned to make sure her friend was still behind her.

It was getting latter in the morning and Dahlia was very very tired but she was worried about Kein and she didn't want to leave.
"I... see things,They're really quite horrible. Its all really complicated, I don't understand myself." Dahlia was confused by this response but there were weird things in this world, she was no exception. "
You look tired, do you want me to take you back to your room? You're in the night school right?"

Dahlia almost fell apart inside. She had tried to hide that fact, she didn't like it, it scared her. "I'm.....I'm.....yes." She said slowly. she didn't want to admit it, it was to horrible. She was glad he offered to take her back to her room. She didn't know if she could walk back in there by herself. "I.... I don't like it......I asked...to be in the day school..........it.....the night......I'm afraid.. " She was scared again, she didn't want to think about night school. "Your not.......afraid of me......right?" The kids at her old orphanage were all scared to no end when they found out about her. Some even through things at her, even the teachers treated her coldly.

Ali gasped for breath slightly as Zahina came to a halt, the night dorm hallways were dark but Ali was able to see fairly well it was dark but not to dark it was still eerie. The hairs on his neck stood up slowly as a cold wind seemed to go past. He shrugged it of and smiled at Zahina “well that was my exercise for today I think” he laughed quietly “ well if you ever want to meet up during the day well night, for you just say and I’ll try to come to you If not we’ll have to think of a place for a back up meeting” he explained leaning against the wall lightly.

Kein'Vei's looked at Dahlia questioningly as her face fell after his harmless question. She stammered, her face fearful and Kein felt pity full him as she explained in fits and bursts. He smiled calmly at her "I'm not afraid of you. Of course not." He stood up, offering her his hand as he prepared to walk the girl back to her room. He made care that he cast his shadow over her miniature form. "You know they probably put you in the night school because its better for you." He began "You can get used to it and then it won't be so scary anymore." He smiled down at her, he believed what he was saying and hoped it comforted the small girl. AS he waited for her response he saw the cat girl return from her pursuit. It seemed she was unsuccessful and she hung her head as she wandered out of the garden. He saw her a bit closer as she passed and, to his own surprise, found her attractive. He looked away quickly as blush spread across his cheeks. He hoped she had not seen his attention and then sudden lack thereof.

Dahlia felt relief rush into her at Kein's answer. He was the second person in her life that actually treated her normally. It made her feel really good to be with him then. "I don't know if I can.....but thank you" She walked back inside shielded by his shadow. It was unnecessary but it showed he cared. "I'm not supposed to be up at the moment.....so I hope we don't get caught." The pair slowly walked back up to the 10th floor where her room was. Everything was dark but she felt safe because Kein was there. When they got to her room she unlocked the door and turned around. "Thank you Kein, I....well......Goodnight I guess, I hope I can see you again some time.......Oh umm.....what......." she looked down, she was about to ask another awkward question and she knew it. "What....room number are you?"

Kein smiled as he walked Dahlia back to her room. He had found a friend, true she was an eight year old girl but she was still his one and only friend. By the sound of it, he was the same to her. He made sure he looked comfortable in the higher floors, so he looked like he belonged to avoid any suspicion. No one challenged the pair as they made their way down the darkened hallway, indeed nobody even turned up. It seemed like they were all asleep or elsewhere. He crouched down and smiled at the girl as she prepared to enter her room. He understood her fear of this place. It was unnaturally dark and slightly unnerved Kein'Vei, even though he was as comfortable without light as with it. His smile did not falter as he answered her awkward question "I'm in room 23 on floor 6, its only two rooms down from some stairs" He whispered, trying not to let his deeper voice carry. He was trying to keep her smiling and to pause would only inspire discomfort. "Now don't worry about me, I can get out of here quick enough. Just have yourself a goodnight, or good day really." he chuckled slightly at the failed play on words. He waited until she had closed the door behind her before stepping into another dimension, vanishing from the dark corridor.

He stepped into a world of white. There was no ground, sky, horizon, walls, floor or roof; just... place and emptiness. He called this world a "clean" dimension. Indeed there wasn't a single mar or shadow upon the endless white. Nothing had been created here, it was like a blank canvas, waiting for a painter. The dimensions and worlds still confused Kein'Vei but he had learned much and applied that knowledge. Time traveled at different speeds in different worlds, and even then the difference wasn't constant. Kein knew this one was always slower then Earth. A hour here would could be from a minute to half an hour depending on some random variable. Positions in between worlds didn't match either. He could be deep underground in one place yet appear at the top of a mountain in another. within the clean dimension physics disobeyed even more laws. A single spot could lead to a multitude of places in the same world, although these places always seemed to be on Kein'Vei's mind at the time. After a few minutes of walking he could see the green of the garden again and stepped back to Earth. The background noise hit like it always did when he emerged from the emptiness. He looked at the sun and surroundings. Very little seemed to have changed, it must have been only a few seconds here. So it may have been maybe ten minutes between he last was here. He found himself wondering if that girl was still here, much to his own dismay.

Elina's floor was charred and black from her failed spell and anything that happened to be on the floor was soaked from the water. However, the flood hadn't been as bad as Elina had originally thought, as there were only a few puddles. Thank God I don't have a roommate, she smirked to herself as she cleared a space, quickly glancing at the Hello Kitty clock on her nightstand and cursing silently when she realized she only had twenty minutes to cast a circle and get ready for class. Her hands shook as she made the circle and lit all the candles. She had ten minutes left as she tried to relax and say the simple search spell right. "Par les puissances de la lune, du Sun, de la terre, de l'air, du feu et de la mer, ce qui m'était par le passé retour perdu.," she whispered over and over, picturing Jiji running back from the hall and into her room.

"Merde!" she yelled when she finally looked at the clock again. Being five minutes late translated to ten in Elina's case, so she quickly blew out the candles and threw on her uniform, not realizing she was putting her polo on inside out and missing a button on her skirt as she scurried around her room looking for her homework. Elina barely had her shoes on before she stumbled into the classroom, ignoring the snickers as she slid into her seat and had her homework out and her attention elsewhere. All she had to do was get through her classes and ballet, and then she could finally see if the finding spell had really worked.

Zahina giggled a little as she unlocked her door and opened it, stepping inside. "Make yourself at home," she said, putting her messenger bag down by her bookshelf and put the raggedy ann doll on her bed. She lifted the sheet that hid her desk area and put it onto the bed above then sat in the desk chair, but turned it around to face him. "You can take the other desk chair if you want," Zahina said, pointing to the other desk below the empty loft styled bed in the empty side of the room. "And yeah, we can meet at night, but we can meet in the day too. I usually don't sleep the whole day anyway. And there's plenty of places to meet. I know I shouldn't be out during Day Class hours, but I've kinda done it before anyway and there are exceptions like the library and computer lab." She yawned and stretched a little.

Ali smiled as Zahina let him into her room when she offered him a seat he agreed and nodded walking over to the desk and grabbing the other chair and sitting across from her. He looked around at her room it was completely different from his room. His room was of a modern style and had most of his work displayed on the walls or stacked at the foot of his bed. The only problem with Ali’s artwork was that once he started something he would usually get inspiration for another piece he would finish the original artwork eventually.

“Nice room” he commented smiling “and yeah I’m up for meeting up during the day, if you don’t mind my asking what are you?” He didn’t mean to sound rude and he hoped he didn’t but he was curious.

(Edited Post: Please reread)

Kein'Vei relaxed for the remaining time before his lessons began. He lay in a small patch of grass, contented and relaxed. The chirping of birds and the murmur of wakening students the only sounds in his sanctuary. Such times, however, could not last and Kein'Vei sighed as he sat up. He made his way to his first lesson. His mind still back in the beauty of nature. So much so that he barely darted out of the way of a hurrying girl. Obviously she was more anxious about timings then he was, her clothes looked like they were donned in a hurry. He found his own classroom and settled himself into a desk at the back. He hadn't collected his books but he ignored the fact like the teacher, who was overly relaxed, did. He learned enough through listening. You had too learn by ear when you never stayed still.

He was brought out of his reverie when he heard the boys whispering next to him.
"Doesn't she look like such a wh**e?" one said, looking at a girl a few rows ahead. Her hair was disheveled and the tag of her inside out polo shirt was visible.
"Hell yeah man." his fellow said with a snicker, that brought the teachers attention. He was about to continue when Kein'Vei leaned across and hissed at him "Shut up guys. She was probably in a rush or something." With that the teacher called out at the perceived disturbance. "Kein'Vei." She said in the kind of piercing voice only teachers can muster "I trust you've been paying attention?" She asked as the whole of the class turned around to look at the accused boy. The siren then squinted at Kein'Vei's desk, seeming to note the lack of books and capitalised on her observation "Where is your homework?"

Chuckles and snickers erupted from most of the class. He was in trouble now. He replied with the truth, although it was a rather feeble excuse "Its in my room miss. I didn't have time to get my books before class." The teacher looked at him, it was obvious she didn't buy the excuse, like most of her kind. She sighed and waved her hand dismissively "Well, then I guess you don't mind going to fetch it then?" She thought she had him trapped. Randomly she picked a student "Ahh... Elina. Could you please escort mister Kein'Vei here to his room to pick up his homework." Ignoring the looks from the class Kein'Vei got up and walked to the door, he turned around and waited for Elina to follow him.

Ali looked down at his watch absent-mindedly his eyes widened and he stood up “Oh crap! I’m late for my lessons the teachers gonna kill me. I’ll have to hang around with you later Zahina. Bye” he said in a huge rush leaving her room closing the door as he left. He ran down the corridor turning as Zahina did when they were coming up. He paused as he passed his room putting his cameras on his bed grabbing his books and homework which looked a mess but looked neat to Ali. The teacher couldn’t really shout at him he had done his homework just not done it properly. He had understood what he had to do but was just struggling with the writing and reading aspect. ‘why cant they just ask me to say what the homework is instead of having to write it down’ he thought to himself as he turned another corridor and looked into the classroom. Breathing out he opened the door and quickly rushed to his seat. “So decided to join us Mr Crow?” the teacher asked. Ali nodded and spoke softly “sorry miss I lost track of time” he replied giving her the sheet of homework she scanned it over and sighed heavily walking back over to the desk to place it on her desk.

(he’s in Kein'Vei’s class)

Elina took a breath and slid out from her chair. The teacher never really called on her, given the fact she almost always had her hand up for answering and once unintentionally corrected her during a lecture, and now she was going to have to miss part of class.

She stepped out of the classroom door and into the hallway, crossing her arms over her chest. "Make it quick," Elina said shortly, now kind of annoyed and disgruntled at the fact of prolonging the time before she could check her room. Her body stiffened when her fingers brushed against the seam of her shirt, unnaturally puckered and rough, and Elina realizing that in the rush of getting to class she'd put her shirt on inside out and who knew what else on wrong. Her neck began to itch like crazy and her cheeks felt hot, and Elina was sure she was colored embarrassment.

At least I remembered my skirt, she thought dryly, rolling her eyes sub-consciously. Suddenly Elina became aware she was with someone else other than herself for once, and that normal beings usually talked. Elina took a glance at him, not remembering his name. Annoyance replaced her embarrassment as she recognized that if he hadn't forgotten his stupid books, she probably would have drifted through the day as if nothing was wrong. If I stay quiet, time will go faster, she decided as she absently played with her necklace.
