"Why am I here...?"

a character in “Mutant Rivalry”, as played by stormwolf321

Description

.:Name:.
Mali Addison

.:Age:.
17

.:Grade:.
Junior

.:School:.
SunShadow

.:Description:. Image
Moderately long black hair and bright blue eyes. Her attire involves what any teenager wears. Either loose fitting shirts, Z cuts, or just a plain T-shirt will do. On days where there are important events like games or rallies, she almost always shows the school support. On those particular days, she would wear something comfortable. The only time she would wear something decent is if they didn't have a game or there's nothing to do after school. In most cases though, Mali looks like a 'normal'. She has no distinct tail or ears. No diamonds necklaces or visible aura. In most cases, she is asked why she is going to SunShadow.

.:Personality:.
Her usual demeanor is calm and tranquil. Anyone who was to come and talk to her would sometimes be astonished at how she is free of worries. Mali is sweet when it comes to her nice side. Well, Mali is just like any other teenager really. Curious, adventurous, and talkative when it comes to gossiping about other people or boys. The only thing she doesn't do is talk negative about someone behind their backs. She just always thought that it wasn't a nice thing. It even caused her to feel pity for those who have been subjects to this. Now on to Mali's bad side. She does have a negative part of her. Usually when people are mean to her or when someone is bragging about themselves. She would either turn around and walk away or go into a fuss. It just depends what mood she is currently in. On some days her Calm and Tranquil moods seem to switch instead of being there together. Calm moods result in going into a fuss. tranquil involves turning around and ignoring that person. Her anger though, surprisingly disappears after a short time unlike most girls who keep a grudge for 5 years or so. Her grudges last and 2 or three hours if it's really big. 10 to fifteen minutes if moderate. 5 minutes or less if its not important.

.:Extracurricular Activity:. Mali doesn't participate in any sports but after school she does take a walk around the park a couple of times.

.:Mutant or Normal?:. Mutant.
Mali certainly has an interesting story. Her father was killed over seas and ever since then, Mali has kept his dog tag in her room when she was little. She seemed to notice that there was a slight glow about that object but she disregarded it. As she grew older, she went to Lakeview and was thought to be a normal like everyone else. The rivalry between her and mutants was certainly there, just not as strong as maybe, Ayden's. Everything was running perfectly until up in the middle of 11th grade where she found out she had a couple very uncommon powers.

Two of witch revolve around time. Chrono Telekinesis and Chronokinesis. Chrono Telekinesis is ability to move object, people, or animals through time. Right now she can only do small objects such as pencils or cans. Light weight objects with not a lot of mass. She found out she had this when a bully pushed up someones tray into their faces. Looking over at that person, the tray disappeared for a second along with the food and reappeared where it was before the bully did such a thing. The food was left untouched. After that event happened, all of her energy was completely drained and she passed out. She really knew she had it when she began to experiment with it.

ChronoKinesis is the ability to slow down or speed up ones perception of time. Found this one out when her and her mother were taking a walk and suddenly, everything felt as if it had slowed down around the two. Once again, her energy drained from her body. That was when her mother found out she had those powers and took her out of LakeView in fear of the torment she might go through. After about a week of not going to school and transferring to SunShadow, Mali found an old journal her father kept and when reading through it found out that he had those abilities. Another one she developed alongside her father, was PhotoKinesis. Ability to control/create or manipulate light. This doesn't require any energy at all and she can bend rays of light or create small star looking objects in her hand with ease.

.:Strengths:.
Her PhotoKinesis especially. She can easily distract enemies or just blind them with on tiny yet strong beam of light straight through the pupil. Not saying she would do such a thing but in a dire situation, she has no choice. Most of the time, she would strengthen the suns rays so that the enemy can't see well. As far as strength goes, she isn't strong at all. But she is a risk taker.

.:Weaknesses:.
Ironically, her Chrono Telekinesis and Chronokinesis. You see, she can't quite control these two yet which makes her a bit...skittish all the time. When she does use them, its usually an accident which results in her passing out randomly through ones eyes. Throughout the day, there is a 50% chance this would happen every three hours. Mali's biggest fear is that she won't be able to control it for the rest of her life and is struggling to find a teacher who could help her.

.:Other:. I might have not mentioned this. When she is using her PhotoKinesis, when she is creating strong rays of light, it effects her as well though she has heard that this can be prevented.

So begins...

((Here's my intro on Mali. Falcon or any other character can be involved.))

Mali

A young girl with black hair made her way out of the library and out onto the sidewalk. Pausing as she watches the trees seem to wave at her. They seemed to be the only things that were inviting...at the moment. The mutant school she just got into didn't much like her and now, ever since LakeView found out she was indeed a mutant, the rumors about what powers she has and what he has become spread quickly. To be honest, she didn't feel that much different than when she first started school, excluding the fact that her energy gets drained from her body much quickly now. She now realizes that those names she would agree on with her friends about the mutants were now directed towards her and too her this whole time. This thought made her frown in dismay and sadness. Guess she should at least...try to make friends with the kids in her new school. With a mental nod, Mali begins her walk towards her new school.

After thirty minutes of staggered paced walking, she reached the competition just as the stream of fire and ice shot through the sky. Mali slowly walked up behind the stands and watched the competition unfold, mentally daring herself to talk to someone.

Mali
As leftover sparkles of ice shimmered down to the earth, the wind picked up and made them flow around the entire area. It was certainly beautiful. Something Mali hasn't seen ever. Mali decided to have some fun and she slightly lifted her hand from her side. The glistening from the sparkling gems seemed to glow a brighter blue and white before they rested on the earth flew and melted into the ground. She got a couple of glances from the mutants who seemed surprised and from some normal's who seemed shocked. Two words with similar yet totally different meanings. Mali looked out on the crowd at the different people enter and leave. Thoughts lingered in her mind like, what if she wouldn't fit in her new school or what if she actually became somewhat popular? She inhales then exhales deeply. She will just have to wait and see.

((Oh mah Lord! Must. Catch. Up!))

Mali

Even though it was a simple light trick that didn't require much energy at all, she could still feel a small part of her deteriorate. She hated the feeling and knew that her powers were still well on their way to becoming mature but sometimes she just couldn't stand it at all. The same feeling you get just before you pass out. Weak, useless, dizzy, everything that makes you uncomfortable. Mali knew she had to find a teacher willing to accept her and teach her fast. As much as she hated to admit it, even to herself, she was frankly, quite scared. She had no idea when or where her powers were going to act up plus the fact that she passes out every time it happens. Mali exhales loudly before heading towards the food stand. She had just enough money for maybe a hot dog or a cheeseburger and a small drink.

Cade

Cade grins. "Of course I'll watch!" he says giddily as he watches her run off catching her wink and bright grins. He jogs up to Myran and nudges him with his elbow. "Come on." Cade says excitedly before running off and stopping close enough by the band. Head turning around in just enough time to see Julye give him yet another bright grin. Cade grins back and waves at his friend from afar eager to watch what his friend could do.

Iria

Iria walked up to the stand behind another girl with black hair and blue eyes. She seemed familiar, very familiar but Iria payed no attention. The fire and ice streaks had already got her undivided attention. Over time her mom had given her contacts to put on instead of those glasses. She still wasn't quite used to them yet but she was slowly getting there. Watching as the guard and band got into their places, Iria slightly smiled in excitement.

Cade

Cade watched as the fight song ended then the crowd, around Julye, erupted in cheers. Good emotions filled the boy as he cheered along with the crowd. Glancing at Myran who seemed to be smiling and nodding at the ground, it was definitely Julye. The sudden burst of excitement settled a little as the girl started handing out water bottles to the kids in their row. His two tails wagged back and forth as Julye came close, still feeling that overwhelming emotion. He chuckled at the girls statement about feeling the way she does. Nothing could possibly bring down the spirit in that girl, no matter how hard that Ayden kid or any other Normal tried.

Mali

Mali took a small soft drink from the stand and walked over closer to the crowd, just as the fight song ended. In a second everything erupted in cheers and screams of joy that it practically made Mali jump from where she was standing. She could faintly feel that same excitement course through her veins as if someone had literally given it to her. Mali quickly took notice that the crowd that wasn't around the band or guard didn't seem to cheer that much. Then someone was spreading the excitement but how? This confused the curious girl as she tried to pinpoint who did it. After about 5 minutes she gave up and decided to just smile and go on with the crowd.

Mali

Mali became a tad bit nervous around the mutants as some stared at her trying to find what made her a mutant since most did have something distinct showing. The girl clenched her fists and suddenly began to pace herself away from the crowd avoiding the eyes of many. She could tell not many Normal's come here and if they did they were most likely around other normal's. Mali was now at the secluded part of the bleachers away from everyone else until she found someone walking towards her, or the spot, at a very staggered yet steady pace. Glimpsing upwards, the breath was immediately taken out of her in astonishment. She had never seen a mutant like him. Wings pulled against his body as the boy made his way over. He looked almost angelic but even Mali could see he didn't quite have such a graceful charm. He did however, look like he could be the decision maker in things. Tensing as he came a bit closer, Mali decided she should just ignore him, only when she thought of this she realized she was staring at his wings. Knowing this would make anyone a bit nervous, she immediately looked away hoping he didn't notice.

Myran

He smiled a little at Cade’s comment and gently tugged on Julye’s ear. ”You really need to calm down. There’s nothing you can do about it right now so just let it be.” He glanced up at a serious burst of fire and ice shot over the band, telling them which song to play next while the football team took a time out. He went up a few steps back to his drum, spinning a mallet in his hand.

Falcon

He sat down, glancing around at the others around him, despite it being a secluded area there were still people. Like always, he felt eyes on him and usually he could ignore them, but every once in awhile he would have to look. Apparently this was one of those times as he turned his head around to see who was staring at him. A few were, those who saw him come over and had momentarily took their eyes off the game to watch him, but none looked away, still giving him stares, except for one. She looked away quickly from him like she didn’t want to be caught looking. He blinked; it was a bit strange considering most wanted him to know they were looking, wanting to know more about the wings. The feathers ruffled slightly with his confusion, a single feather falling from his black wing. He turned forward watching the kids run across the field, granted he didn’t know much of what was going on but he resigned himself to watch, a few tendrils of smoke around his feet.

Mali

She could feel his eyes trail around towards the game away from her and some others that were still watching him. Turning her head around to meet these people, they didn't seem to flinch when he looked back and they still continued to stare. Furrowing her eyebrows at them didn't help at all either. 'Geez! and I thought people were being rude to me!' She thought. As much as these people seemed to be unnervingly staring at him, he didn't seem to mind almost as if he was used to their prying eyes. Well, Mali wasn't. She looked back around at them and to her pleasure, more ice crystals had shot out and were glistening vibrantly. Mali smirked and barely lifted her hand before these small glints of ice turned to white beams of light heading straight for their bleacher only. directing themselves at the eyes who were staring, the sudden rays of light caused the people to squint and become slightly irritated before they gave up staring at him. Thankfully, the rays of light weren't strong enough to arouse suspicion. She barely let out a chuckle as they watched the game instead. On the corner of her eye, she saw what seemed to be a black speck drifting from one of his black wings and landing near her foot. As the wind was about to carry it away, she brought her foot down on this object carefully anchoring it to it's spot. She pricked the small feather from the ground and twirled it between her fingers. She guessed it was one of his down feathers since this one was incredibly fluffy. Eyes peering back over to the readying band, she continued to play with the little feather.

He smiled, glad Julye finally decided to leave the situation alone and just watch the game, though he also wanted to know what they were planning, they wouldn’t be here otherwise. His ears twitched and swiveled, and he looked up right as a loud boom sounded form the other band’s percussion section. His tail swished, a challenge was called and it was the perfect thing to get his mind off of all of this. He went back up to his drums with the others, spinning a mallet in his hand as the drum captain told them which cadence they were going to be doing. His spirit was already lifting as they began, starting at a fast paced beat and even though they didn’t have different notes like the instruments, the different sized drums, all put together, was somewhat more stimulating that just a song. Out of the corner of his eye he could see people getting riled up with it, band members trying to dance along.

Falcon

He watched the people on the field when he noticed something…off. He couldn’t place what it was but he looked around him and something was different, then it hit him, no one was looking. Those stares he usually felt were gone. It was a new feeling for him and it made his feathers ruffle. He wondered briefly what had gotten them all to stop and focus on the events on the field. Then his eyes caught something black and he blinked. The girl from before that had looked away from him was twirling one of his black feathers in her hand. Did she make them all look away? A faint smile tugged at the corner of his mouth and his muscles almost visibly relaxed a little more. He settled into his seat and ran a hand through his hair, turning back towards the game.

Mali

Mali glance at the mutant for another second as he looked away. She could see him relax and fully focus on the game in front of him. She chuckled a bit to loudly but she didn't care. It was worth it. For some odd reason, she didn't like to use her powers for her own purpose or pleasure. It just didn't feel right. But using them on this guy right here was sorta what she needed to know that maybe her powers weren't a nuisance. Something she could use to help people, not like Superman or anything like that but just some little good things. Something that would brighten up her day. Another feeling though, intertwined with her usual calm demeanor. The need to talk to someone. She did want to talk to the boy with the wings but she didn't know what he would do or if he even liked to talk to anyone. She occasionally switched gazes from him to the game, trying to figure out which one she should do. Eventually, her brain came to the decision that she would have to talk to him at least to know what he would do. She carefully almost barely tapped on his shoulder. "Uh...So d-do you usually come to these games?" She asks in a shaky voice. He may not even hear her over the loud crowd. If not then she wouldn't be a bother anymore. Trying to keep her usual mellow attitude was hard enough when your talking to someone two times your size, with visible wings, and looked like he was almost surrounded in a smokey aura. Yeah, it was hard.

He sat there, a little more content than he usually would be, the stares were gone, seeming to take pounds off his back that he didn’t have to carry. He was sitting there trying to figure out exactly what the kids on the field were doing when he felt a tap on his shoulder. He jumped a little, considering he wasn’t expecting the touch, and no one really bothered to get close enough to try. When he looked up he was surprised that there was the same girl from before. "Uh...So d-do you usually come to these games?"[/u] He tilted his head a little, it was a strange way to start a conversation, but then again it may not have been, considering they were both there. He shook his head, [b]”Sorry no, don’t usually like being around some many…people.” He smiled slightly, then scotched to the side to give her room. ”You can sit here…if you want. You don’t have to or anything…” He noticed he was rambling a bit, not something he usually would do, but when he gets comfortable he tends to talk a bit too much, about nothing most of the time. ”Thanks…for before, you got them to stop staring somehow didn’t you?” He glanced back at her, brushing his hair out from his eyes, feathers ruffling slightly.

She hesitated. She didn't expect him to answer back, she remained calm as usual though. She watched and listened intently. Guess it did make since if he didn't like to be around people so much. He did have wings and guessing from everyone's stares, wings weren't the most common. She hesitantly sat beside him and just awkwardly sit there for a mOment or two, listening to him ramble until he said something that surprised her. A thank you for earlier. "Y-your welcome. Uh. It was nothing special...just a simple light trick." she smiles before scooting next to him to where their shoulders were pressing together so the other kids on the to of the bleachers couldn't see what she was going to do. Before he could say a word, Mali opened her hand revealing not only the small black feather, but a small speck of light that looked similar to the stars in the night sky. In a moments notice, the tiny star disappeared and she scooted back to her spot.

He was feeling good, the percussion battle getting his spirits up, allowing him to forget his brothers were there. Then there was something in the way, like bad emotions were being projected from someone. Then he felt Cade tugging at his sleeve and pulled him towards the exit. He set his mallets down and followed. ”That was Julye wasn’t it? Those emotions were bad.” He went down quickly and rushed to find Julye, who was now curled up by herself and trying to hold back tears. He went over and sat down next to her, his tail bumping and curling around hers. ”It’s ok….ssshhhh….it’s alright Julye…” He put his arms around her, rubbing one of her ears gently.

Falcon

He blinked when the girl scooted closer, he wasn’t sure what she was going to do and the smoke around their feet got slightly thicker. She opened her hand, which had one of his black feathers in it, that wasn’t what he was expecting at all, but was more intriguing was the small light that was right in the middle of it, almost like the stars he watched at night. Too soon it was gone and she scooted back to her spot. ”That’s a cool ability. Controlling light yes?” He glanced at her, the nervousness that made the smoke thicker almost gone, making it almost unnoticeable.

He continued rubbing Julye’s ear softly as she started kneading his shirt, curling up there against his chest. ”Don’t worry….don’t try to speak so much okay…?” He pet her gently as he spoke softly to her then looked up at Cade. ”A few years ago at her old school…There was a group of bullies that found out about a few of the mutants that happened to be at the school. They threatened a small, mind-controller and got the kid to make her do things…She almost got her to hang herself…She can sometimes still feel the rope, and it is still a challenge for her to speak correctly sometimes…” He glanced down at Julye, still petting her softly.

Falcon

He paused slightly when she started running her fingers through his feathers. It wasn’t something he was expecting, considering he didn’t come into physical contact with many people. His feathers almost instantly fluffed, probably engulfing her hand, while at the same time they turned half smoke-like, her hand almost floating through the feathers, visible underneath what should have been solid but soft down.

He took a breath to compose himself, hopefully she didn’t freak out that he had basically started to turn into smoke. Which unfortunately had started a rumor in the last place he stayed in, that he was a ghost, he didn’t like the way the normals kept making up stories just to have an explanation for something they didn’t know, they should find out, instead of making things up. ”No, not an angel…Just another mutant…”

Cade

As Myran talked, the world only seemed to become duller and duller with each word he said. All the cheers zoned out. The only thing he heard was the quiet sound of Juye's soft sobbing and Myrans comforting words. It was utterly heartbreaking to see his friend lie this, and now that he knew the truth, it only made it worse. "What kind of low down piece of trash would do that to Julye..." he growls, gritting his teeth to the breaking point. He sighs calming himself down before he started to rub Julye's back. It was a small gesture but he didn't want to interrupt Myran and Julye. Plus, he always found his back being rubbed comfortable and calming. But ever since the divorce he hadn't had that treatment in a while so he decided that Julye deserved it. "It's gonna be alright Julye...As long as me and Myran are alive, nothing would ever hurt you..."

Mali

She listened intently and was a bit surprised as smoke started to rise above the feathers covering her hand. It almost seemed like he was turning into it. Mali wasn't the least scared though. I mean, both were mutants and both were weird in their own way. She couldn't even control more than half of her powers without completely passing out. She smiles before playfully punching his arm lightly. "Hey uh...I was wondering if you knew any...teacher person that could teach me how to control some of my powers. Do you know of any?" She asks shyly. She always hated getting help from someone but this had to be done.

Iria

Iria watched the field from afar. The band was certainly great. Everything seemed to be going just fine. After about what seemed like 10 minutes, there was a slight feel of uneasiness before it suddenly left her body completely causing her to shiver. Eyes darting around the crowd, she saw some people from her school, like two brothers, Mali-who used to be at her school until people found out she's a mutant-, even Ayden was here which, astonished her. She'd never thought of Ayden coming to one of these games but hey! She wasn't the one to say that in his face. She was just a bit surprised.

Myran

Myran nodded a little, agreeing with Cades comment. ”It’s all right now okay? You never have to go through that again. We won’t allow it.” He continued to pet her, hoping she would calm down soon so no one came looking for them, and they couldn’t just leave, the director and drum majors would not be happy and would personally go looking for them. Then they would have some type of punishment, and he didn’t feel like polishing the snare drums…again…

Falcon

He blinked when she went to punch his arm, not that it was a hard punch, there was no strength behind it to be something meant to hurt him. Doesn’t mean it didn’t feel weird, things tended to…shift when he was hit, most of him turning to smoke and shifting to accommodate for the attack. It always felt weird to him, but it was great for when he lost his train of thought and occasionally ran into a tree or two. When she asked if he knew any of the teachers that could help her he nodded. ”I hear that Kyren, I think that’s her name, is good for teaching control. I haven’t actually gone to see her but I’ve heard she can help.”

Mali

Mali beamed and hugged Falcon. "Oh thank you! You don't know how worried I've been for-" She cuts herself off and blushes deeply. She didn't want to tell him that she couldn't control her powers! Though the question might have given it away. After a few moments of awkward silence, excluding the cheering behind them, Mali realized something. "Oh my gosh! How could I have been so rude! Sorry, my name is Mali Addison. What's yours?" She asks in curiosity. Her question lacked formality, but she knew he wouldn't mind. How could she have forgotten to introduce herself...It wasn't really like her at all... Mali shook this thought out of her head. At least she knew who could help her...This Kyren person might be her only chance to keep her powers down. All she knew was that if she could indeed help her, it could mean a heavy burden off her chest.
