Who are you?
Alistair (Al to his friends) is a leading researcher in occultism, parapsychology and the paranormal in general. He also dabbles in brewing, fencing and several other hobbies, but his main areas of expertise are the previous fields of study. He is Scotch-Irish of descent, as evidenced by his heavy brogue and Anglican facial qualities.
What's your personality?
Alistair is a sort of "good-time guy", a simple man who likes to enjoy himself, takes life easily and is fairly calm all the time. He is a very driven person, seeing crises as challenges that he needs to surmount and never taking no for an answer. This leads him to pursue his goals with an almost psychotic determination, which has gotten him into trouble many times in the past. He is very intelligent and well-studied, with a sharp, sarcastic wit and a penchant for making fun of his friends at will. He seems to be something of a lady-killer as well, given his handsome face, good smile and characteristically calm-yet-determined manner. He likes to drink quite a bit, and has the resistance to alcohol that his heritage would portend. Alistair also seems to have a nose for paranormal occurrences; so to speak - he can go on limited evidence to seek out and identify things that are happening that aren't of this world and has an alarming degree of accuracy when identifying these things.
He seems to be the duck-out-of-water; however, having little to no knowledge of Japanese culture, no knowledge of the Japanese language and an interest in only the strange occurrences that are starting to happen.

Alistair was born in Glasgow in August of 1968, the son of a desk clerk and a hardware store owner. He lived a fairly normal lifestyle, spending his early life in public school, earning slightly-above-average grades and displaying an aptitude for researching the paranormal. He went to university and began studying psychology, but later switched majors to parapsychology and occultism after he began to study paranormal events. Years passed, and Alistair graduated with honors, later going on to become one of the leading researchers in the field of the occult and the paranormal.
When he heard of the occurrences in Japan, Alistair was one of the first people to fly out to research it.
