Under the watchful eye of moonlight, a darkness has arisen. A man gone mad from the human experience has wandered out and uncovered what should never have been revealed to the world. By following the path of the Aurora Borealis, he has stumbled upon a secret the Moon has tried to keep secret for the safety of mankind for many years. This evil has consumed him, become him, driven him to the point of no return, where he wishes to unleash this new-found power on the innocents of the world.
When the man first set out, he was driven by a single goal: to find the cure to death. As he sought out to find this cure, he was lured into a trap by a serpent whispering in his ear, persuading him to take the bite of the poison apple that would start with himself, and end with the fall of all that has come to be on planet Earth. This evil only came to the world to see it through to its demise, but the Moon, protector of all those that it loves, gave its humanity to drive it away, sealing the darkness behind the lock and key of the Aurora Borealis.
Unleashed to the world, this darkness will spread like the venom it is. For every moment this malevolence is out of its cage, it will dry the planet's blood to dust, crack the bones like twigs, wring out the very life force that keeps the world spinning and the people breathing. Those chosen have been given gifts that have now become a new part of them; powers surpassing anyone's most vivid dream. They have been entrusted by the remnants of the Moon to protect their planet, to save those lives who still reside on it, to fight against the evil threatening to break this world apart and destroy all that has come to be. They are meant to become the new Guardians of this world.
The powers they have achieved are unlike any other, unique to each and every singular being who has been blessed with them. Whatever the powers may be, whoever these Guardians may be, they are meant to be used to stop both the man and the poison that has infected this world.
