- Origin and Meaning: Ken, meaning "healthy, or strong". Midori, meaning "green". His first name was the wish of his mother, who died in childbirth. The second name was simply a chosen name in lieu of any surviving records, in reference to his birthmark-
which was a solid green at the time.

- Origin and Meaning: A double-reference. The first is for a programming language, and the second is for his rejuvenating presence that acts like coffee to people. Amusingly enough, he hates Java as a coding language, preferring Javascript and many others.

- Jet-black, though they constantly pulse green to the rhythm of his heartbeat, but the pulsing light is only noticeable in the dark. The greater his heartrate, the brighter and more frequent the pulses.
- Jet-black and short, though an observant one would see green wisps of some kind crackle through the strands. He's usually never without his touque, though.
- Despite the name, he does not look Japanese. Evidently he's a dead ringer for his father, because he looked nothing like his late mother. Lean and dark, but not brooding. He's actually a friendly sort, despite the scary black-eyed look and the pulsing green aspect that some would call "eerie". His demeanour is often quiet,
but loose.
- Feature 1: A tattoo-esque birthmark on his back. A black symbol that, like his hair and eyes, pulse green.
- Feature 2: Wears non-perscription glasses, which help hide the green pulse whenever he's out in the evenings.
- Feature 3: His skin can't scar, and the healing aura also affects metabolism. As a result, he has flawless skin, and even acne development vanishes entirely within a day- sooner if he actually cleans it out.

- Usually wears logo tees for different interests, from music groups to video games. He has a white dress shirt and black dress pants in case he ever needed anything more formal. Otherwise, he's usually in comfortable pants. Cargo, yoga, whatever lets him sit comfortably while he codes. He's rarely without his touque or his non-perscription glasses meant to hide the strange green pulse. In colder weather, he has a thick black jacket.
- Trait: A constant pulse of a healing aura, which gives anyone around him- friend or foe- a healing factor. It is the source of the pulsing green light of his eyes, hair, and birthmark. The healing factor can mend minor cuts within seconds, ease pain in general, and even rejuvenate stamina in others. It can be used to help stabilize major injury, but cannot be relied on alone. The healing aura has a radius of a measly three metres, ignoring all obstacles, even magical ones. He cannot (or hasn't yet learned how to) control the aura, and thus is constantly active for anyone within range. The aura-enhanced metabolism also burns through chemicals, meaning he can't stay drunk for long. Also renders him immune to lung cancer- Thank goodness. Dude's gotta have his smokes.
- Strength 1: High paint tolerance.
- Strength 2: Highly intelligent, and a quick thinker to boot.
- Strength 3: Can be a focused individual when there is a task to do. He can get restless if he's not doing something.
- Weakness 1: Not terribly fit. He's a skinny guy. He should really work on that.
- Weakness 2: He can be very absent-minded, and can get tunnel-vision when he's focused on something.
- Weakness 3: Because the aura rejuvenates stamina, he cannot sleep. As a result, he's always felt isolated even when around other people. He feels awkward around people because he envies their ability to sleep.

- Laid-back, quiet, and awkward. Dependable when he's focused. Honest to a fault, and bad at keeping secrets other than his own. (Well, relatively speaking) He's often absent-minded, especially when working on a project. Somewhat all-business-like, Ken never really grew up with friends. Some would say he's weird, or has no life with all the things he's good at, but that's because he had no other choice with his inability to sleep. Some would call him a little crazy, but those would be unkind people. He does have a scary look to him, but he's a gentle soul. Overall, he's chill, if a little hard to catch his attention.
A musician as well as a programmer, he has a smooth singing voice. While he's perfectly fine with singing into a microphone, he gets terrible stage fright whenever he finds out someone is listening in. From his programmer side, he tends to speak in the mindset that whoever he's talking to knows exactly what he's talking about. He's perfectly able to explain concepts that he talks about, but you know what they say about people who assume.

- Like 1: Computers : It's what he always works with, especially for game development.
- Like 2: Music : In lieu of drawing skill, he has developed an interest in practicing music. He's fit to play instruments, though he does not own any. Instead, he uses software on- you guessed it- his computer. Thanks to headphones, he has honed his music theory in the dark of the night.
- Like 3: Cooking : One of the things he took up during many a sleepless night.
- Like 4: Trains : The complex machinery, and also to remind him of his origins. Most of the games and mods he's developed have incorporated a train as his "signature" of sorts.
- Like 5: Cleaning : Another of the things he took up during many a sleepless night.
- Dislike 1: Drawing : He just straight-up sucks at it, no matter how hard he tries. This makes the drawing course a bit of a weird choice. I guess he really wants to try harder.
- Dislike 2: Having nothing to do : He always needs a distraction- anything to keep him occupied.
- Dislike 3: The night, or rather, his power : Sure he's developed quite a number of skills with the extra time, but going eight to ten hours without speaking to anyone at a time... It's straight-up depressing.
- Dislike 4: Badly designed languages : Not a fan of bad design and bugs. Sometimes he's had to fix some things himself and send the patches to other people.
- Dislike 5: Sports : Not very athletic. Though getting more fit would be a step in the right direction towards his ultimate goal. He just doesn't know it yet.

- Motive 1: Controlling his power : He wants to be normal, or at least be able to sleep like any other person.
- Motive 2: Impressing someone : Everyone craves social interaction, and he's never made any real friends. He thinks developing a great video game or something would be a step in the right direction.
- He was born on a train between regions. His mother died giving birth and he does not know who or where his father is. The name he was given was a last wish from the mother to the doctor who happened to be aboard the train at the time. Unfortunately, no last name was provided, and the mother's ID had mysteriously vanished, as had the train records that she was ever a legitimate passenger. (Or maybe she was actually a stowaway) After a fruitless investigation, the boy was given the name "Midori" and brought to an orphanage that could house baby Ken.
Throughout his childhood, he's lived in a crib, day in and day out, not understanding that people need to sleep, and crying whenever he got bored- which was all the time. By the time he aged enough to crawl, the fits finally stopped altogether.
Over the years, however, Ken learned that he had something unusual that no one else seemed to have. Everyone got tired and slept eventually, but Ken never felt fatigue. For a time, this troubled him, up until he discovered the unusual nature of his eyes, hair, and the birthmark. It was only a matter of time before he discerned the exact nature of his abilities- through trial and error, that is. He hanged out with kids who got themselves hurt. Trouble-makers, sports kids (who made fun of him, also part of why he doesn't like sports) and anyone else who often got hurt. Everyone who stood within three metres seemed to heal rapidly. Teachers noticed that anyone seated around Ken seemed more energetic and more able to focus in class, but they never attributed it to Ken himself.
What his teachers could attribute was a suspension received when he sold software on the playground for some extra pocket money. The first hobby he picked up during sleepless nights was programming, and he loved the idea of creating worlds one could interact with. "This could be a way to make friends," he thought... Only not many people bonded over typing hundreds of thousands of lines of code, and for a time, he was only skilled enough to make functioning single-player games. Regardless, he enjoyed it, and he sold copies of his work on the playground.
The suspension was lifted early when the school found out that the software was a video game Ken had made himself, instead of something pirated. It turned out they didn't want to discourage his talents, but they did tell him that he should seek permission if he wanted to sell that sort of stuff.
He got permits from then on, and cranked out video games relatively rapidly. Again, sleepless nights made homework a non-issue and development times shockingly short. The graphics were never really all that good, but Ken learned to work around it... At least until he figures out how to "git gud" at art. A lot of kids didn't like the lack of graphics, but thoroughly enjoyed the gameplay all the same. For a time, that was how Ken made his savings.
Despite selling video games and knowing lots of students in his old schools, he was never "friends" with any of them. He never had sleepovers or visits or anything like that. Even at the orphanage, he didn't really bond with any of the other kids- they were busy with schoolwork or playing the newest game. As a result, he got interested with computers, from the public one at the orphanage, to the ones available in the school libraries.
Despite his desires to show his skills, Ken was also very self-conscious. As a result, he often kept to himself, and never tried to show off even though he easily could. This contradiction compounded his feeling of isolation.
As a matter of fact, every skill he's picked up during sleepless nights, he's picked up in the hopes of impressing someone and potentially making friends. Given that his healing aura can heal muscle tissue as well, it's strange that he hasn't taken up fitness yet.
He's applied for Computer sciences to hone his skills as a programmer, as well as an art course to finally get better at art. Most of the careers he wants to get into require some sort of skill at drawing. He also applied for a gym membership to finally get fitness squared away. Given how cheap the rent was, he could afford to do it. As for his "day" (sleepless night) job, he does contract work for software firms.
