Tsukasa

I think you're positively brilliant.

0 · 447 views · located in Heaven

a character in “My Only You”, as played by Ang-cat

Description

Image

Name: Tsukasa

Age: 3324 (Looks 19)

Gender: Female

Height: 5"2

Weight: 110lbs

Personality:
Tsukasa has an incredibly warm and kind personality, fitting her proficient and natural talents in healing the sick and protecting the weak. She tries to be nice to all beings, and is incredibly intelligent. She is, above all, a very sweet girl who loves to make people laugh, albiet a clumsy one. She also loves to paint, though doesn't often talk about it. Despite this, she can be very competitive to a fault and hates how much she secretly likes to fight, two traits she tries to hide. She has a very apologetic inferiority-complex-type nature when she feels she has done wrong, making her sometimes easy to manipulate.
Likes:
♥ Baking (e.g. cakes)
♥ Swimming
♥ Reading
♥ Watercolour paints

Dislikes:
♠ Bugs
♠ Sour foods
♠ Fire

Magical Abilities: (Only two)
Tsukasa is skilled in the forces of life and sky. The forces of life include draining and healing people, calling on living beings for help (especially animals), among other things. The powers of the sky allow her to control air and the weather, but only in isolated areas and she is not yet able to control the weather for extended periods of time.

Weapons: (Only two)
Tsukasa uses a scythe as a staff. Though staffs are not the most common weapon, it helps her focus her magic. The scythe can be very misleading because it is a typically demonic weapon, but it seems that the scythe has never actually been used for its intended purposes, the blade, except for every day tasks, which many other angels look on at as odd.

Favorite Quotes:
○"You look hurt! I can fix this..."
○"There are better ways than fighting."
○"I don't think you're terrible. Just a little beaten up."
○"Would cake calm you down?"
○"You are my sunshine, my only sunshine..."

History:
From a young age, Suka has been fond of helping Earth more than anything. She has a history of trouble in heaven, but all of it was well-intentioned. At best, each time she was caught was simply her latest attempt to help this animal or this dying soldier, at worst, it was considered interference with the way of the world. An attempt to cheat death. She also enjoys studying ancient literature and harp studies and the great minds of the world fascinate her.

Theme Song:
On Melancholy Hill: Gorillaz

Other:

Suka has never been heard singing, with the exception of her trying to ease the pain of dying mortals on occasion, but in the presence of other angels and demons, she only hums.

So begins...

A song had woken her up- her alarm. The sound she had awoken to every morning, a twinkling music box that treated her ears so delicately. Her sense of hearing was acute. It was amazing what woke her up; how quiet the music box was. Her room was a little smaller than most. Cozy. She enjoyed that. Probably because the study connected to her room was much bigger and made up for it.

9:30

Most angels would go to choir practice soon. Angel choir was lovely to listen to, but not suited for Tsukasa. She refused to sing around people. And even if she did sing in public, she would not today. Not with the war nearing. It hurt her heart. Her poor, poor humans. And the animals! It hurt her heart more than she could say- so she didn't.

Instead, she pulled her watercolour set from her desk and slipped it into her bag. Then she brushed her teeth and washed her face. After, she put on a white dress, and as she looked into her closet, she saw the outfit she often wore when she fought. A purple-grey sarong and a small, cross-body top of the same colour. Everything reminded her of death. After all, that's what everything always came down to- living or dying. At least, with her powers they did. That's what she learned.

She packed away a piece of sponge cake she had baked the night before and left her room, blue and white and silver everything, searching for a good place outside to paint. She walked- it made her feel... human.

Tsukasa settled on a spot near the choir rehearsal room, on the opposite side of it from the music hall, where an ancient, gnarled tree had taken root for lord knows how many centuries. She slipped on her sparkling white headphones and almost pressed play before hesitating. After a moment, she pulled them off and decided instead to listen to the choir.

She pulled out her watercolour set. Unlike most of her possessions, clean and well taken-care of, her watercolours were splattered here and there with dark spots of paint. She opened her sketchbook to a new, blank page and began immediately. The painting first began as nonsense- unpatterened strokes on a page, but soon, the image took shape, and by then, Tsukasa was too deeply enthralled in her painting to notice anything else..

Eventually, Tsukasa had snapped out of her daze, wondering how much time had passed. She paused to listen to the choir once more. It was beautiful, the music they made. As beautiful as the day; her sunny disposition clearly reflected the weather. She listened, trying to pick out voices. Kaidan's was clear- a low, solid sound that seemed to pierce the higher voices. Calista, she knew, had a beautiful voice, but she couldn't pick out the quiet girl's sweet tones. Amai's was a voice she could pick out in a crowd. It was distinct, yes, but mostly because Amai had both scolded and helped Tsukasa enough times for her to recognize it instantly (though Tsukasa was still unsure as to why Amai did either).

Without realizing what she was doing, Tsukasa made her way to the choir window and peered in curiously.

Amai conducted the choir with her usual elegance. Calista hit every note, including the highest ones. The angels sung beautifully, and soon practice was over.

"Well done, everyone. I hope we can all do as well as today. Also," she nodded her head at Kaidan. He flew over to her. "We hope that you will do your best in the upcoming war. We will defeat the demon spawn, slay the Lord of Hell, and," Amai laid her hand on his shoulder. "That's enough, Kaidan." He flew back to his section. Amai gave a small smile to everyone then said, "You're all dismissed."

Calista did a little twirl and flew with the rest of the angels out the door. She noticed Tsukasa, another angel, peering through the window. She waved at her, and flew outside to meet with her.

"Hello Tsukasa! Did you like our singing?" she asked.

Akeno heard the sound of singing in choir hall. He himself couldn't sing in his opinion, so instead he listened to the majestic voices that sound in heaven for all to hear. Taking a few steps near the window where the voices could be heard he listened to them. A small smile appeared on his face as he felt his hands raise gracefully up to his side then higher to his chest. The air cooled around him until it dense into water flowing around his arms in an elegant fashion. He moved to the water to the music the angels produce. When the choir had finished there practice he allowed the water to once again flow in an elegant form.

Akeno watched as some the angels gather to talk and he himself said nothing. Instead he waved to them before he returned the water back to its air like state. "Good day to you all." He says in a peaceful fashion to all the angels as he walked up them. "You sounded very lovely at today's practice." Akeno says gently as another small smile on his face could be seen.

"Hello Tsukasa! Did you like our singing?" Calista had asked. Calista was a sweet, young angel. Occasionally, Calista's personality could become... overbearing for some people, but Tsukasa quite enjoyed it. She was lively, and that's exactly what Tsukasa held in high regard.

"I did!" she smiled warmly, "I like all music, but your voices are always beautiful. It's a lovely thing..."

Her words trailed off delicately. But I don't understand; How can you sing so, when a war is at our door? she wanted to say. But she couldn't. Perhaps, that was how some people dealt with war. Tsukasa made her way to her bag and shoved her sketchbook inside.

"Would you like one?" she asked Calista, pulling a cake from the same pocket her book was in.

As she held out the cake, in the corner of her eye, she spotted Akeno. He was kind, she knew, but what angels weren't? It seemed odd to her that they had known each other for around 3000 years and did not know each other very well. Maybe I should change that. Eventually. she thought, guiltily.

"Yes please!" replied Calista cheerfully.

She took the cake, and took a bite.

"Mmm, that's really good!" she said.

Calista noticed her looking over at a male angel, Akeno. She gave a little giggle.

"Do you like him, Tsukasa?" she asked.

Tsukasa smiled- she was relieved the cakes turned out well. Not that they shouldn't, with all the baking that she did.

Do you like him, Tsukasa?

Tsukasa turned red as a beet. Calista misunderstood! Suddenly, she couldn't get the words out fast enough.

"No, no! Calis- Calista! I...." She paused after a long slew of objections poured forth, breathed, recollected herself and continued in a more calm manner, "I just find it a little odd that I don't really know him. It's been over 3,000 years! I know you, of course, and Amai, Kaidan... and I know Akeno of course, it is not as if we have never spoken, but it is not in the way that I know you."

Calista was only around 2,000 years old, which was about half of Akeno's age, and Tsukasa was somewhere in the middle, but obviously the two girls were much closer to each other. In truth, the sudden spark of interest lay in the fact that the war was, indeed, swiftly approaching. Death put Tsukasa on edge. There was no way she could protect everyone on Earth during the war, let alone the angels, which was a distressing realization in itself, but there was even less chance of her being mindful enough to protect herself. It was more than likely that Tsukasa would die soon, in the time to come. It saddened her to think that given so much time, she had not become closer with as many people as she wished she did. She was suddenly feeling guilty. 3,000 years of opportunities and Tsukasa had not taken enough.

"Aww that's too bad, it's fun playing matchmaker." said Calista, disappointed.

She gave a little sigh. Looking around, she saw Amai and Kaidan talking. Kaidan was blushing, and Amai was laughing. She wondered what they were talking about, but Calista had the common sense not to barge in to a conversation with the head angel. She wondered what she should do next. She fiddled with the ribbon on her dress, waiting for any ideas on what to do.

"Aww that's too bad, it's fun playing matchmaker." said Calista as her voice dropped to a disappointed tone.

Suka gathered up her things and placed them into her bag before swinging it over one shoulder, onto her back. Calista began playing with her dress and Suka began to look around. Kaidan, Amai, and Akeno were all around.

The sweet girl had good intentions, though being set up was never something Tsukasa thought much about, "Perhaps... Well, perhaps if we make it back from the war, you can play the matchmaker, okay? That'd be fun."

Tsukasa wondered about what angel would be right for her, though. In honesty, she couldn't see herself with anyone.

"I was about to go to the library, I don't suppose you'd like to come?" she asked. Tsukasa loved company, but Calista's personality told her that the library was probably not her favoured place. Even so, Suka had to go.

Tsukasa had hoped to grab a book on the Earth's brief war history. Perhaps, if she had known who had geographic advantage over whom, it might aid them. She had read somewhere that Napoleon Bonaparte couldn't take Russia because it was too cold... but perhaps she had read that in a fiction book. It was hard to remember over 3,000 years of knowledge, unfortunately.

Just then, a bell rang. Not slight, nor delicate, two traits that angels were accustomed to, but rather hearty. It rang through the heavens as Suka counted the tolls, 1... 2... That was it. It meant war council. Just then, Christian flew by Calista and Tsukasa shouting something about the Grande Hall before he zoomed off. It didn't matter too much if they didn't hear them, they knew what two tolls of the Grande Hall bell meant.

"Oops... we ought'ta go!" she said. The two girls spread their wings and flew straight to the hall.

"Good morning, Amai." beamed the angel, as they arrived in the Grande Hall.

Amai looked towards the door of the Grande Hall as Calista and Tsukasa came in. "Ah, there you girls are. Now, we'll just have to wait for the rest of the others." She flew over to the head of the council table and sat down. "Come girls, sit at your spots." Amai looked over at the large clock hanging above them and thought to herself, 'Where are the others....'

Meanwhile, Kaidan, hearing the bells toll, flew towards the Grande Hall quickly. Passing by Akeno on the way, he slowed down a bit. "Hey, council meeting. Let's go." And with saying that, flew off.

Coming in through the doors, he took his seat that was next to Amai. "Am I late?" She looked at him and poked his cheek. "Of course not, Kaidan. Where is Akeno?" He looked towards the door and crossed his arms. "I passed by him on the way here, so he should be coming right now..." Amai sighed and got up. "Well, we'll just have to wait for him then. I'm going to get the book now."

Amai flew farther to the front of the Grande Hall and landed in front of a pedestal. Taking the book from it, she dusted it off with her hands. 'Dusty... Who's supposed to clean this?' She came back and sat at her place. "Alright. Meeting, commence."

"Perhaps... Well, perhaps if we make it back from the war, you can play the matchmaker, okay? That'd be fun." replied Tsukaka. "I was about to go to the library, I don't suppose you'd like to come?" she asked.

Calista thought for a moment. She didn't really like reading, and the library was definitely not a place you could make noise. She was about to reply that she didn't really want to come and they should meet up later, but the bell rang. The bell was loud and seemed to almost shake the ground under them. The girls then spread their wings and flew over to the Grande Hall. Amai was already there, and Tsukasa greeted her with a smile. Amai said they would wait for the others, and for them to take their seats. Calista nodded her head, and took a seat near the middle of the room.

"Alright. Meeting, commence." said Amai from the front of the room.

Amai looked around and sighed. "Alright. You all know about the upcoming war against Hell. Lucky for all of you, you were chosen to go against the demons from Hell. Now, as you all know, the war will take place on Earth."

Kaidan crossed his arms and closed his eyes. "Yes, yes Amai... But, will the humans be aware of this?" She looked at him and folded her hands. "Well, no, not exactly. Although there are some that might be able to see us, they will not even be aware that we are in their presence. Now,"

Amai stood up from the table. "Are there any questions?"

She felt chills run across her back and her face fell into a frown. At least, they would not have any reason to fear.

"I'm sure we'll all put in our best efforts and do everything in our power so that our friends reach no harm." she said sweetly.

"But they won't be aware that we are there..." she continued, slower and sadder than usual first, and then returning to her same, energetic speed, "until something from Hell kills them."

It wasn't formed like a question, but it was one. Tsukasa just wanted to make sure- to know if the humans could get hurt. They were delicate.

"Alright. You all know about the upcoming war against Hell. Lucky for all of you, you were chosen to go against the demons from Hell. Now, as you all know, the war will take place on Earth." said Amai.

"Yes, yes Amai... But, will the humans be aware of this?" asked Kaidan.

"Well, no, not exactly. Although there are some that might be able to see us, they will not even be aware that we are in their presence. Now," replied Amai. "Are there any questions?"

They wouldn't know they were there. Calista gave a little shiver, thinking about how she would feel if she was a human.

"I'm sure we'll all put in our best efforts and do everything in our power so that our friends reach no harm." said Tsukasa. "But they won't be aware that we are there... until something from Hell kills them." she finished.

Calista really did shiver that time. She imagined what it would be like to be killed by an invisible force. That gave her an idea for a question. Her hand shot up, and without waiting to be told, blurted out her question.

"Amai, where will the healers go when everyone's fighting? Do we go on the battlefield too? And if a human gets injured, can we help them?" she asked.

(Just assuming there will be healers, and Calista is one of them)

Amai looked at Calista and replied firmly. "Well, since I know that a majority of you have the power to heal, you may stand by to help the injured. But as for the humans, since they won't be aware of us, there may be some exceptions. Lucifer and his demons are not exactly allowed to touch the humans. They are, however, allowed to cause natural disasters." Kaidan closed his eyes and stated his thoughts out loud. "Tch, if they're allowed to cause disasters, what can we do?" She turned her head and sighed. "Fight the demons that try to harm even the smallest animal. What's more, we leave to go to Earth in a few days. I hope you all have prepared yourselves."

Standing up from the council table, the large clock chimed, telling Amai that it was already six o'clock. "We will prepare ourselves against him. Understand?" Kaidan opened his eyes and stood up. "Understood." She nodded her head in acknowledgement. "Good."

"We will prepare ourselves against him. Understand?" Amai asked.

"Understood." Kaidan replied.

"Good."

"Wait-"[color] Tsukasa protested and stood, as Kaidan, Christian, and a few others stood to go. She took a deep breathe and continued, speaking at an erratic pace, [color=#5B59BA]"I think... maybe we should leave for Earth... tomorrow! I mean, we need a little time to prepare ourselves but I think... Maybe if we go down early and set up what protection we can...."

Well then maybe some people won't die.

She didn't know what she was saying. She sounded like a war strategist, to herself, and if she was one thing, it was not that. She sat back down. She was wrong. It was probably a stupid idea- how would they even set up protection without drawing any human attention? It was stupid.

Nevermind. she wanted to say. But she thought she should hold her ground for once.

Amai listened to Tsukasa's idea and began to ponder on it. "Tsukasa, that seems rather interesting. We do have a responsibility in protecting those on Earth." She thought harder on it and saw a few starting to leave. "Hey! We're not done here yet! It's only six, and you guys are leaving? We still have much to discuss."

Kaidan and the others looked at her and sat back down. "Sorry, Amai..." Kyle elbowed Christian in his side, telling him to apologize as well. "Er, sorry... So, how are we gonna beat those slimy demons?" He sat back in his seat, putting his elbows on the table. Amai cleared her throat and looked at everyone. "We simply fight. Use the weapons that you were given. Calista and Tsukasa. I know that you both don't like to fight, so what I want you both to do is to help the inured, and if you can, help out."

She sighed and rested her hands on the table. "Lucifer the fallen, will be the one from the demons' side, leading them out. I need you to understand that he is extremely powerful." Closing her eyes and taking a deep breathe, she started to remember when God cast Lucifer down from heaven.

'He didn't have to become so selfish...'
