(OOC - Sorry, meant to post this in heaven!)

Calista blinked her eyes open. She rolled over to check the time on her alarm clock. 9:57. Calista gave a start, choir practice was starting soon! She jumped off her bed, and flew into her bathroom. She brushed her teeth, combed her hair, then rushed back into her room to get dressed. She ended up wearing a floaty blue dress with a ribbon, and a pastel pink cardigan. She gobbled down a piece of toast, and slurped her orange juice. She checked the time again. 10:12. Calista squealed, and rushed out the door, only remembering at the last second to throw on a pair of blue ballet flats.

"Oh dear, oh dear, oh dear!" she muttered under her breath.

She flew to the music hall, hoping Amai wouldn't be mad she was late.

A song had woken her up- her alarm. The sound she had awoken to every morning, a twinkling music box that treated her ears so delicately. Her sense of hearing was acute. It was amazing what woke her up; how quiet the music box was. Her room was a little smaller than most. Cozy. She enjoyed that. Probably because the study connected to her room was much bigger and made up for it.

9:30

Most angels would go to choir practice soon. Angel choir was lovely to listen to, but not suited for Tsukasa. She refused to sing around people. And even if she did sing in public, she would not today. Not with the war nearing. It hurt her heart. Her poor, poor humans. And the animals! It hurt her heart more than she could say- so she didn't.

Instead, she pulled her watercolour set from her desk and slipped it into her bag. Then she brushed her teeth and washed her face. After, she put on a white dress, and as she looked into her closet, she saw the outfit she often wore when she fought. A purple-grey sarong and a small, cross-body top of the same colour. Everything reminded her of death. After all, that's what everything always came down to- living or dying. At least, with her powers they did. That's what she learned.

She packed away a piece of sponge cake she had baked the night before and left her room, blue and white and silver everything, searching for a good place outside to paint. She walked- it made her feel... human.

Lucifer sat in his throne, the seat composed of brimstone, bone, and the pulsating power of damned souls flowing like blood. Lucifer stared before himself, a chessboard of sorts set before him. Rather than the normal pieces, as one would imagine them, they were each individual carvings, each in their own position, a likeness to a real being. The setup also denoted the ranks in a different way; facing him was the likeness of the Lord's Army, with a depiction of the Holy Trinity as a kingpiece ; a smiling archangel Micheal as the queenpiece. Various other angels graced the other pieces, each piece having their own rank and place. On his own side, a human's depiction of the Devil sat as a kingpiece, the rest of the pieces being graced with the depictions of his fellow Demons, the Army of Hades.

He looked to the pieces with care, all seeming normal--Aya, sleeping. Keito, cooking and awakening his sister. The others were doing their own thing, preparing for what was to come soon...the War. The one that would end it all. The final war before Tribulations began; where he would roam freely with the rest of Hell to drag down as many souls as possible. That was when a certain figure caught his eye--Touya. It was frowning, agitated. Something was abnormal. Setting the piece back down, Lucifer stood and began to walk down the stairways to his throne, each step transforming him more and more into a serpent until the end of the steps, where the Devil had taken on his Serpent form.

The serpent slithered across the bowels of brimstone, the scaled beast large enough to swallow a car whole, if it so chose. The serpent approached a building tucked away in the brimstone, hidden by near-unuse. It was here that Lucifer knew it would find one of its Demons. To be more precise, a Demon that was born into his damnation.

"Touya." The serpent spake as one would imagine that of a snake speaking, with a hissing undertone and harsh extension on the consonant 's'. "What ssssssseemsssss to be the matter?"

Amai conducted the choir with her usual elegance. Calista hit every note, including the highest ones. The angels sung beautifully, and soon practice was over.

"Well done, everyone. I hope we can all do as well as today. Also," she nodded her head at Kaidan. He flew over to her. "We hope that you will do your best in the upcoming war. We will defeat the demon spawn, slay the Lord of Hell, and," Amai laid her hand on his shoulder. "That's enough, Kaidan." He flew back to his section. Amai gave a small smile to everyone then said, "You're all dismissed."

Calista did a little twirl and flew with the rest of the angels out the door. She noticed Tsukasa, another angel, peering through the window. She waved at her, and flew outside to meet with her.

"Hello Tsukasa! Did you like our singing?" she asked.

Akeno heard the sound of singing in choir hall. He himself couldn't sing in his opinion, so instead he listened to the majestic voices that sound in heaven for all to hear. Taking a few steps near the window where the voices could be heard he listened to them. A small smile appeared on his face as he felt his hands raise gracefully up to his side then higher to his chest. The air cooled around him until it dense into water flowing around his arms in an elegant fashion. He moved to the water to the music the angels produce. When the choir had finished there practice he allowed the water to once again flow in an elegant form.

Akeno watched as some the angels gather to talk and he himself said nothing. Instead he waved to them before he returned the water back to its air like state. "Good day to you all." He says in a peaceful fashion to all the angels as he walked up them. "You sounded very lovely at today's practice." Akeno says gently as another small smile on his face could be seen.

"I did!" she smiled warmly, "I like all music, but your voices are always beautiful. It's a lovely thing..."

Her words trailed off. Calista gave a little smile. Tsukasa made her way to her bag and shoved her sketchbook inside.

"Would you like one?" she asked Calista, pulling a cake from the same pocket her book was in.

"Yes please!" replied Calista cheerfully.

She took the cake, and took a bite.

"Mmm, that's really good!" she said.

Calista noticed her looking over at a male angel, Akeno. She gave a little giggle.

"Do you like him, Tsukasa?" she asked.

"Aww that's too bad, it's fun playing matchmaker." said Calista as her voice dropped to a disappointed tone.

Suka gathered up her things and placed them into her bag before swinging it over one shoulder, onto her back. Calista began playing with her dress and Suka began to look around. Kaidan, Amai, and Akeno were all around.

The sweet girl had good intentions, though being set up was never something Tsukasa thought much about, "Perhaps... Well, perhaps if we make it back from the war, you can play the matchmaker, okay? That'd be fun."

Tsukasa wondered about what angel would be right for her, though. In honesty, she couldn't see herself with anyone.

"I was about to go to the library, I don't suppose you'd like to come?" she asked. Tsukasa loved company, but Calista's personality told her that the library was probably not her favoured place. Even so, Suka had to go.

Lucifer gave a small smile at Touya's observation. "Yes, just as it is with life...time erodes away the languages beat down by the strong, just as time wears away the ink in that book. To be forgotten forever." His smile became slightly grim, he muttering to himself, "Unlike vengance."

Looking out for a moment, he saw as the High Demons approached the building, his heralds doing their job well. "Excellent." He turned to Touya, asking, "Touya, do you mind grabbing that book for me?" He pointed to a thick, leatherbound book, whose title was worn from time, pages worn from use. It sat upon its own stand, as if someone intended on referring to it often. He instructed his flaming minions to fetch other books for him as he himself set up a table for the Council of the Damned. He gave a nod as the first two of the three others entered.

"Aya. Keito." He motioned them to the table. "Come and sit; we have much to discuss."

Lucifer waited for the final Demon to arrived before he bagan. Once the Demon Palimira arrived, Lucifer took the book that Touya had retrieved for him, thanking the spirit-born Demon, then began his speech.

"As you are all aware, the time for the Final Battle is drawing near. We are feeling the pressures of our Enemy like never before, their plans including our eradication." Lucifer paused for effect, as well as thought. "This is more than just a battle between Heaven and Hell. This is a battle for survival. For our lives. For everything we have built, everything we have become. What we have made of the fire and brimstone our Enemy cast us in." Lucifer gave a smile. "And it is for this reason I hold no doubt of our victory. Take a look: did the Angels have to work for their homes, refurbishing a forgotten void into a place to call so? Of course not. Were the Angels forced to learn to protect themselves, their homes, their families? Not until they almost destroyed ours." Lucifer gave a small frown in remembrance of the Battle of Blood. Many of the original Demons died in that battle; many Brothers of Lucifer, the Fallen fell by the blade. "Were the Angels forced to be strong, to clutch onto their blades?"

Lucifer extended a hand, the ื”ืื“ืก ืฉืœ ืœื”ื‘ growing from the ground like a tree, its black wood the color of the Void, the blade extending in a black leaf of doom. Lucifer clutched the blade like an unholy Shepard's crook. "No."

"After millennium of guerrilla warfare, we are going direct. Our mission is to curroupt the Church through its 'great and holy' Pope."

With a smile of deviousness, he opened the weathered book in his hands, the title stating The Holy Bible. "And here is our greatest weapon."

(posting from my phone so it might be kinda crappy)

Aha sat at the table, her elbow leaning on the table and her cheek resting on her hand. Lucifurs speach started out inspirational, but the childish demon had become bored quite quickly. She wasn't one for talking. All she wanted to do was beat some angels into a bloody pulp. It had been a while since she'd taken on her true form. Though flesh didn't sound all that apitizing to her at the moment, she couldn't wait for her wolf jaws to tear into the soft skin and let the blood drip from her teeth. She absolutely adored her beautiful demon form. The light purple fur, shining coat, and glowing eyes almost made her look a little angelic. Of course, controlling her animal tendencies while in that form was a little hard. She watched as Lucifurs opened a book in which she was surprised even sat in the hellish library.

"What the hell is that worthless book going to do?" She said, leaning back into her chair and plopping her bitter feet onto the surface in front of her while placing her hands behind her head.

"Well, since I know that a majority of you have the power to heal, you may stand by to help the injured. But as for the humans, since they won't be aware of us, there may be some exceptions. Lucifer and his demons are not exactly allowed to touch the humans. They are, however, allowed to cause natural disasters." said Amai.

Kaidan then asked a question and Amai answered. After they finished, a few angels began to get up from their seats.

"Wait-" began Tsukasa. "I think... maybe we should leave for Earth... tomorrow! I mean, we need a little time to prepare ourselves but I think... Maybe if we go down early and set up what protection we can...." she finished.

"Tsukasa, that seems rather interesting. We do have a responsibility in protecting those on Earth." said Amai.

Calista tuned out, but tuned back in when she heard her name.

"Calista and Tsukasa. I know that you both don't like to fight, so what I want you both to do is to help the inured, and if you can, help out." said Amai.

Calista nodded, glad she would have the company of her friend.

"Lucifer the fallen, will be the one from the demons' side, leading them out. I need you to understand that he is extremely powerful." said Amai, taking in a breath.

Lucifer. The name sent shivers down Calista's spine, even though she hadn't met him. She had heard the other angels talking about him. Lucifer, the fallen angel. What would happen if..... she met him? She shook the thought out her head, she was purely at the battle to heal. Not to make friends.

"So Amai, should we start getting ready now?" asked Calista.

[OOC: That's fine! :) Besides, I have the same, I think :s argh]

"Umm, Tsukasa, can I doing this right?"

She laughed, "It's a bit harder than that. It took me 3 months of training before I could grow a tree... But you'll get it! I know you will! Well, I've shown you my skills, I think it's only fair I learn a bit of yours!"

Her smile was young- very young, despite their age difference.

Lucifer gave a sigh, shaking his head. "Aya, Aya, Aya." The tone of Lucifer's voice was disappointed, but in a playful, mocking way. "In three-hundred years, have you not learned anything?" As playful as Lucifer was, he soon returned to a serious tone. "This 'worthless book' is not any book. It is The Book. The Words of God Himself. The words that mortals turn to for reason, order, love." He flipped open the first few pages, smiling as his finger lay across a passage.

โ€œDid God really say, โ€˜You must not eat from any tree in the gardenโ€™?โ€ His smile was strangely warm, but in a evil way. "In the same token, these words can be twisted to create disarray, chaos, hate. Just a little twist, a little questioning."

"This war will require you to do more than just destroy Angels. If this war is to be won, we must collaborate souls. Turn God's Creation against Him. Stir rebellion against the Holy." He motioned to the other books, all of science, history, and religions not of God. "We already hold a good grip of this mortal plane. Just the right push, the right nudge, will send the world into our arms--and, effectively, our victory will follow."

Lucifer gave a nod to all his High Demons. "You all are authorized to leave to the mortal plane as soon as you wish; however, you must keep a low profile. We will meet tomorrow night at Saint Xaviar's Home for Orphaned Children. Dismissed."

As his Demon Leaders began to leave, he stopped Touya. "Hold on, I have something for you." He presented the Demon-son with a deck of cards. "Standard-edition playing cards. Texas Hold 'Em regulation...or so it seems." The deck glows with a dark red haze as all fifty-two cards fly out of the deck, floating in a circle around himself, the two Jokers coming out last, twirling around like electrons. "They are infused with my very blood, so that you do not have to bleed yourself to summon such simple spells--you can concentrate on more complicated spells and summonings, while being protected." The cards flew back into the deck-case, Lucifer putting it into the Demon's hands. He truly did worry that God would be harsher with his 'son's' death... "I know they are not what you are used to, but they will do well to protect you." He gave the Demon a smile and I nod. "I take my leave, assuring that the path to victory is clear."

In a flash of blood-red flame, the Dark Lord dissipated.

The War had begun.

Kaidan led Akeno by the hand, up to a tall tree that stood above many of the others.
The sight was breathe taking.

To look down at Earth from Heaven was always a beautiful sight. But this- this was what it must have felt like for the stars to look down at Heaven itself.

"Kaidan..." she didn't understand how Amai could prefer anything to this, but Tsukasa supposed there was lots she didn't understand. She dismissed the thought and soaked in the sight, "It's... the most beautiful..."

She didn't know what to say, so she didn't.

This was it. The last and most beautiful thing she'd see before the war.

I could sit here all night.

Keito sat at the table, feeling a little nervous to be in the presence of Lucifur himself. Though, his nervousness quickly changed after the demon started his speech. He took in every bit of it and his eyes lit up with excitement. This man was pure genius.

"What the hell is that worthless book going to do?"

"Aya.." He mumbled under his breath, giving her a small glance. Please don't be so disrespectful... He thought to himself, about to say it before Lucifur replied, his voice surprisingly playful. Though it only lasted for a moment before he was serious again and began explaining what the book was for. Keito had never really read the book. In fact, he was surprised it was even in the library. He remembered a few pieces from it, but nothing to special. Nothing at all in the book really made much sense to him anyway.

"You all are authorized to leave to the mortal plane as soon as you wish; however, you must keep a low profile. We will meet tomorrow night at Saint Xaviar's Home for Orphaned Children. Dismissed."

This is it.. he thought to himself standing up from the table and looking down at his sister. "So, when do you want to go? Maybe in the morning?" he asked curiously.

Aya grinned, thrilled that their little meeting was finally over. She couldn't wait to get to the human world and have some fun. The first thing she wanted to do was eat some fast food and doughnuts, she couldn't forget about doughnuts. She skipped in front of her brother, ready to leave the library, but then stopped and turned around as he asked her a question.

"So, when do you want to go? Maybe in the morning?"

She gaped her mouth. He didn't seem all that excited about going to the human world at all. He did have a little smile on his face, but that was his usually expression and Aya could tell he was nervous. She smiled brightly. "Hell no! You think I can wait till morning? We're definitely going tonight!" She exclaimed, grabbing Keito's wrist and pulled him out of the library. She pulled him all the way to their house and entered. "First though we've got to put on some human clothes, or we'll stick out. Then before the battle we can change back because there is no way I'm going to fight in Earthly clothes." She let go of Keito's wrist and entered her bedroom to get dressed, closing the door behind her. She pulled open the twin doors of her dresser and pulled out a few things, quickly getting dressed into a pair of purple skinny jeans, black boots, and a white tank top. Then she opened the door and walked passed Keito and into the kitchen. "Juunnn! You should get dressed too!" She called to him, picking up one of the fried chicken legs her brother had made early and taking a huge bite.

Lucifer appeared in an alleyway, the repungent odor of brimstone and burning soul dissipating as the Fallen One transformed himself into a humanoid form. His rejected holy white was replaced with a neutral brown, hellfire eyes cooling into emerald. His body was layered with muscle, but still retained a trace of body fat within, creating a natural welcoming warmth. Ghastly skin burnt into a working man's tone; dejected Angelic attire scrapped for a casual outfit, bluejeans and an emerald button-up shirt. With a snap of fingers and sparks, eyeglasses were produced into Lucifer's fingers. He put them on with a smile, stepping out of the alleyway.

It was at that moment Lucifer knew that God--if not any of His Angels--was watching, for at that very precise moment, a crazed junkie lashed out at him, striking him down. Lucifer denied himself the pleasure of blasting the man into bloody giblets, instead using the moment as an opportunity. He attempted to stand, simultaneously attempting to calm the man down and get help from the other people roaming the streets. It was not like it was hard to find help--the humans were celebrating some national holiday or another, and so the spectacle had been seen. The Junkie, muttering incoherently, only shanked the unoffensive Lucifer.

Of course, such a petty kidney puncture, while devastating for a human, was nothing to the Demon than that of a pinch. He played it off as if he were mortal, though, collapsing, holding the wound, calling out for help now in desperation. At the same time, he planted the Seeds of Doubt, Ignorance, and Selfishness into those that heard him, all but none of the passerby stopping to help a stabbed man as he was dragged into an alleyway by his aggressor.
