My ancestors have the ability to manifest the fears of others through their flesh. You could call us Shapeshifters or many other names, but we shift our shape into others fears, some of us can retain the shape at a later date if the manifesting fear was powerful enough. The Boogey family line is shorter than you'd expect, my father, The Boogeyman, was "born", manifested by the fears of millions of years. He wanted a son to take over the family business, and here I am, Boogey Junior.
What's my name? Boogey Jr, but please call me Boo.
Heh, how old? Well, when you're made by metaphysics, you age differently than mortals, but in retrospect, I would be an adult in the medieval era (16).
It's kind of a mote question, but I am a man, of sorts, since I can wear other shapes.. you get the picture.
My fathers a Legend, capitalized, while I'm still only "The Boogeyman's Son". I have a big shadow to fill..
Powers? Hm.. It's more complicated than it's worth, as well as a few family secrets I can't whisper, but.. the first shape I was able to memorize were tentacles, and over time and with practice I have utilized that manifestation into a wonderful, terrifying, tool. Besides that, I can make manifest your fears if you believe in them enough. Everyone has fears, and every fear can manifest.
Weapons? Nope, my 'pa always told me not to play with knives and guns, so I've learned how to use my first "tool" as a weapon but so far I can only manifest 2 larger and 3 smaller tentacles, and only my long ones are combat-ready.
You want to know who I am in a nutshell? I'm a boy trying to assert myself to a world that reeks of fear, a place that makes my skin literally crawl. I am more often amused than excited, more likely to be curious than greedy. Because Boogey's have such long lives, we tend to keep a broad perspective on events, remaining alouf and unfazed to petty happentance. I look on humans with some degree of pity. I am generally pleasant and gracious even to those who fall short of pure blood standards.
Before today, I was living in Iran, before that was Europe and before that was Africa. My dad moves a lot. I don't know where he's from, but I was "born" in the U.S.A., Chicago. I met my first crush there when I was 10, the year before we started moving a lot. I met a lot of people and made many nightmares.
A little bit of randomness, would be that I can feed off fears and dead bodies. My dad says it's like wine, you get used to the bitter and enjoy it later in life.
