"Sometimes, I get jealous of them. The way they view the world is very different and almost...simplistic...."

Description

Melody Ichijo
Image
ID number. 080D18R5927
nickname(s). Mellie, Mel, Mell-o, Mel-mel, Elo
age. 21
gender. Female
sexuality. Heterosexual

appearance. Short and cute, Melody does not appear to be much of a scientist. Often with her long brown hair swept up in a messy ponytail, wisps of hair hanging around her face, bright red glasses askew....Nonetheless, she's the type that looks like she's a hard worker. With wide dark eyes and a slender physique, Melody's white lab coat hangs nicely off her shoulders. She's often found clutching a clipboard, writing down notes. Melody stands at only 5'2", and because of all the time she spends on her work, she can be known to yawn at the most exciting of moments. This upsets her greatly, and she refuses to do any work then until she has taken her nap. Very flexible, Melody was an aspiring gymnast when she was younger, but that ambition changed when she discovered her talent for the sciences. She has the happy, bubbly, working hard aura around her, which often cheers up other people.

She blushes easily, which is something she hates.
markings. She has two piercings in each ear, and a scar on her back from when an experiment went crazy, slashing everybody in the room with his claws.

personality. Definitely bubbly and happy, the one thing that seems to damper Melody's mood every morning is realizing that she has to face another day of moral struggles. She knows her work is important, but she sometimes doesn't understand why it has to be done on humans. Long ago, this might not have been acceptable, but after the near apocalyptic time that was 2012, morals have changed. Melody grapples with this, but instead of feeling she is wrong in doing what she is doing, she finds herself jealous of them instead. Jealous of the experiments, the children who know only the Dome and their cages, who know only the company of white lab coated scientists and caretakers, who try to treat them the best they can. Melody tries her best every day, proving to others that though she is young, she is smart and she can handle herself. Sometimes, well, most of the time, Melody is very, very stubborn. If she insists on getting something done, she'll get it done.

However, she is easily flustered and does not know how to handle herself in any romantic situations. Sometimes, when she finds herself staring at a rather good looking co-worker, or awe-inspiring experiment, she blushes and runs away.
fears. She fears that one day, she'll wake up with the sinking feeling that she won't be able to work. Not because she can't, but because her morals and her conscience won't let her. She loves her work, but she's scared that she won't get to do it one day. She's also rather afraid of experiments with spines or claws. She puts on a brave face and doesn't let anybody know about that though.

likes.
- Candy
- Reading
- Talking to and watching the experiments
- Ice cold soda
dislikes.
- Rainy days, they make her sleepy
- When she forgets her glasses
- When she's working so hard she forgets to sleep

strengths. Very flexible, both in body and in personality, Melody is good at working with others and also taking the lead.
weaknesses. Melody enjoys watching the experiments get experimented on. There's just something....mystifying and oddly satisfying of watching the experiments change, as they grapple with a new self.

opinion on charges. -- to be filled out when all the characters are in place -- But what do you think of the experiments under your...care?
their perspective.
Melody bit her lip, as she narrowed her eyes. She glanced down at her clipboard, re-reading the notes she had taken down. Her handwriting was neat, but it could be improved, the brunette decided. She pushed her glasses further up her nose, as she moved along the railing, peering through the glass. The Dome was huge - she couldn't even see the other side. She gasped softly, as one of the experiments leaped into the water.

They were so happy.

Melody blinked, realizing she had just been about to crush her clipboard. Why was she getting so worked up recently? Fixing her lab coat with a sharp tug, she tucked a stray strand of hair behind her ear, returning her mind to its objective observant mode.

She was here to look and to look only.

The actual exploration of what the DNA had actually done to the experiments? Well, that would come later.

So begins...
