Appearance(Human):

Race:
Werewolf/Human mix

Gender:
Male

Personality:
Lucas prefers to stay on his own, living in the forests, like most of his kind. He doesn’t usually stay in one place for very long, either. At least, he didn’t used to. Now he’s found a large enough forest to stay and hide in, he’s decided to make himself comfortable. Sure, there’s a village with humans nearby, but he can feed himself, and hide well enough to avoid too much suspicion. He can be a bit of a softy, which is part of the reason he avoids others; no reason to go headlong into trouble, after all.

He likes wide, open spaces, and can’t stand being indoors. He prefers to have a challenge when hunting for food, and avoids eating humans. (Sometimes they’re far too easy to catch.) His soft spot won’t allow him to eat young creatures, like children, cubs, and chicks. Being around a lot of people, whether human or other werewolves, makes him uncomfortable, so he’s avoided joining any packs, and even left his own as soon as he could hunt for himself. He tends to be very territorial of his new forest, chasing off anyone he doesn’t want there.

History:
Lucas was born in a werewolf pack, but couldn’t find himself fitting in very well. So, as soon as he could hunt on his own, he left. For the most part, he travelled on his own, looking for a place to stay; where he could hide from humans and hunt for himself. He just believed he’d be better off on his own.

Once, though, there was a little girl wandering through his forest. He didn’t notice anything until he found her being attacked by a group of thugs. They didn’t usually come through his forest. That, plus the fact that they were attacking a young girl, a child, made him upset. So he dealt with the thugs; he didn’t like attacking humans, but at least he didn’t eat these ones; just chased them off. When he looked back to see if the girl was alright; she had already passed out.

He figured he had already done enough, and almost walked away. But it was a child, out in the middle of the woods, with wild animals, and possibly other thugs. He picked her up, and followed her scent back to what he assumed to be her house. Hopefully the parents either were out, looking for her, or heavy sleepers. He tucked her into what he hoped was her bed and left, hurrying back to his own forest.

Afterwards, he made sure to do a quick patrol of his forest. He couldn’t allow thugs to think they were safe there; they needed to be dealt with. He continues to do random patrols, scaring off anyone that dared to enter his woods. He had to keep his territory safe, after all.

So begins...

Faire May

Faire hummed as she made her way through the beautiful forest. It was a lovely fall afternoon a she had a bit of free time to herself. It was as if she was so busy lately that she couldn't even have tea without doing some work. It felt good to finally be free to roam a bit. She smiled catching the thought of the mysterious creature that saved her. She wondered if perhaps she could catch him again. She slowly moved keeping her eyes open as she looked from side to side. What if he wasn't even in this forest anymore? She hoped to finally see him again after so many years. It seemed like she would check the forest everyday just to try and find him but she never had any luck. Perhaps today would be different after so many years.

Lucas stiffened, sniffing. There she was again; somewhere in her forest. He had done everything he could to keep people out, but she wouldn't stay away. He hadn't scared her off before because, in his mind, she was still a child. She must be older than that by now, but some habits were harder to kill than others. Maybe he was getting too soft? Maybe he needed to scare her off? But to what extent? That would only work if she had forgotten what had happened years before, and even if she had remembered, she would have to have not seen him at all. The whole thing made him stop and debate:scare her off, or simply approach and see what happened? He wasn't too near her yet; the scent was just so familiar to her now.

He made sure to keep up his werewolf form. He knew there was human in him; there had never been any denying. Maybe that was what made him softer? Being part human? He shook his head, attempting to clear it. He wouldn't approach; he'd make her go looking for him. If she dared, anyway. He howled, long and loud. It would either attract her attention, seeing as wolves didn't normally howl at night, or frighten her off. Either way, he wouldn't push the issue. He had been alone most of his life; having no company now certainly wouldn't hurt him.

Faire continued to look around until pausing at the sound of howling. She gasped and looked around. Was he near?! He had to be here. She looked around and quickly moved faster hoping to catch him. The atmosphere was beginning to feel familiar now. He had to be here. She could feel it. She slowly began to to reaching a clearing. "Hello?" She called out while looking around. "Please come out. I won't hurt you i promise." She didn't dream of hurting anyone; especially not someone who risked their life to safe her for something dumb she did. She sat down on the grassy forest floor and smiled. "Uh.... I have food... If your hungry." Through out the years she had placed food in the forest hoping he would get it and not starve. Hopefully he had been receiving it. "I eve brought pudding if you'd like some."

Lucas sniffed; she had come closer. He could even hear her calling. Why was she so interested? And all this food...did she think he couldn't hunt for himself? Or that there wasn't enough food in the forest for him? The last was probably more likely; surely if she had seen him fight the thugs off, she knew he could hunt? He held back a growl; he could hunt, he didn't need all this food she kept bringing him. He preferred the hunt. Her food usually got eaten...just not by him. Well...once, when he was sick, but otherwise, he tried to avoid eating food he couldn't chase after and catch. He wandered closer to her scent, stopping just outside the clearing, peering through the trees at her. He couldn't talk in this form...but he wasn't about to use a human form just to confront a human girl.

She wouldn't hurt him...he doubted she could if she tried. Either way, she didn't mean any harm to him. And the fact that she did come so far meant she wasn't scared. It was a strange, foreign concept to him; someone not being afraid of him. He started to pace around the clearing for a moment before poking his large wolf head through the trees, baring his teeth only briefly, to make sure she didn't come too close.

She paused while hearing slight rustles in the trees. Was he going to show to her finally after so long!? This was quite exciting. She smiled and eagerly looked from side to side. "Im sorry if i am disturbing you.. I just haven't seen you in so long." She said before hearing a loud rustle in the trees. She smiled seeing the head popping out slightly in the clearing. It took everything in her to not run and hug the wolf. She didn't want to scare him away. She slight waved and smiled. "You... You finally showed yourself to me..." She said feeling as if she was dreaming now. After so many years she finally was able to see her savior again. "Please do come and sit with me." She said while platting the light patch of grass next to her. She finally had a chance to properly thank the wolf for all that its done.

Lucas sniffed; pudding? She had mentioned it before, but he couldn't just give in. Pudding was one of his few weaknesses...but he couldn't just walk over there. What if another human had followed her? ...Well, he'd be able to smell them long before they showed up and would see him, but the point was, that was his own secret. He hesitated, glancing between her and the food she had brought. He wished he could talk in this form; to tell her to head home, and leave him alone. It wasn't him she was disrupting, it was his hunting. Wild animals didn't like humans; they frightened easily and took off. That made the chase harder, and he liked the hunt to be challenging, but the point was, humans didn't belong in the forest.

He shook his head at her, only stepping just into the clearing and sitting at the edge of it, watching her. Perhaps she'd leave the food when she left, and then he'd have to see about that pudding. Sure, his usual patrol would be a little later, but it would be done, and he would scare off any humans in his territory. ...Well, almost any human. This human was...different. She went seeking him out, and wasn't afraid. He supposed she'd still be allowed to visit...but that was it. Her home was in the village, not in the forest. He strayed another brief glance to the pudding, then back to the girl. No, she wasn't a child anymore, but that only meant she was old enough to know better than to go in a forest filled with wild animals! He let out a low, warning growl, partly to let her know he understood, but also to scare off any animals thinking of making her prey. Why was she so intent on finding him?!

She smiled while seeing him come into the clearing but not coming towards her. She then watched him eyeing her small basket of food. "O-Oh!" She said before opening it. She began to place the items she had down. "I've got some pudding.. I've got some fresh berries, some cookie biscuts, some nice cold water, some juice and even a few yummy sandwiches." She said while placing the small picnic clear for him to see. His growls didn't scare here and she could care less about any other animal coming. All she cared about was the creature in front of her. "Please do take your pick. Im happy to share anything with you." She said with a smile. She pushed the things a bit closer but continued to sit in the middle of the clearing.

Lucas hesitated. What was he to do now? Part of him wanted to take the food...but to take it without thanking the person was rude among humans; at least, that was his understanding. And he wanted to keep his human form from her...for now, at least. That way, if he did explore the village as a human, she couldn't recognize him. And the pudding...he forced that thought aside, focusing instead on the girl. Besides, if he ever showed that he preferred pudding, he'd have to come out more often, because she'd make sure to start bringing that every time she came. That could turn into a dangerous situation. Who knew food could be dangerous?

He didn't move from his spot. He did, however, look over the food. Yes, there was the pudding, but there was other food, too. Food that was probably much better for him than the pudding was. Berries grew wild in the forest; he could have those whenever he wanted. And there was a lake with plenty of water; those two didn't interest him much. But he had never had biscuits, sandwiches, or juice. But trying those meant moving closer to the girl. He eyed her carefully before standing and moving only one paw forward, sniffing curiously. She said share...he hadn't planned on eating everything anyway, he supposed. An interesting picnic, really...he wondered, if anyone had seen her leaving, what they thought she was up to right now.

He moved another paw forward, glancing at her again, before deciding to sit again, a little closer. You couldn't rush things, after all. He had to take this sort of thing very slowly.

She smiled happily seeing he was taking a interest to her offer now. Did this mean that her picnic actually seemed good to him? Hopefully if she brought more he would come out more often. She smiled as he moved a paw and then another. She watched him sit and giggled. "You are very adorable Mr. Wolf." She said as she lightly took one of the berries and ate it. "You better hurry before all the yummy things are gone." She said while giggling. Of course she was kidding but she did want him to come closer. She meant no harm towards him. She only wanted to be his friend and show how much she appreciated him saving her. "You know... I never truly had a chance to thank you Mr. Wolf."

Lucas growled at the word cute, but blinked, tilting his head to one side. So she did remember? And that was all this was about? He supposed, to some extent, the werewolves were right. Humans were only nice to get what they wanted. What this girl wanted, though, was to show her gratitude. Somehow, he doubted she'd stop just because she had this chance. He let out a quiet sigh before standing up again. He inched forward slowly, glancing at the girl, so she wouldn't get closer without his noticing. As soon as he could, he quickly reached his head forward to snatch a sandwich, then backed off, to his previous seat, near the edge of the clearing.

Once there, he dropped it, sniffing it more closely before eating it quickly, barely chewing the small piece of food. Well, small to him, probably normal sized for her. He paused to lick the crumbs from his mouth, if there were any. Not that it bothered him to be neat, really; it was a wolf thing, to want to get as much of the food as possible, without leaving crumbs behind. He turned his attention back to the girl. He would save his appetite for later, if the pudding was left behind...and to hunt. Now, the sandwiches weren't bad, but food always tasted better when he had to work for it. In his mind, anyway. He couldn't let himself be lazy; if he did, it would mean allowing people into his forest on a regular basis. That was definitely dangerous. He sat again, watching her, waiting for some sort of reaction. Werewolves always moved faster than humans. He wasn't as fast as a full werewolf, but still faster than a human. Had he finally scared her off?

Faire smiled as she watched him take the sandwich. She then took the other and slowly began to eat as well. "Did you enjoy that one? Ms. Morbing helped me make them. I'm not a professional cook bit I do enjoy making things. I made the pudding myself. I hope you enjoy it." She said while opening the container where the pudding was. It was decorated cutely with light whipped cream on it. She continued to eat her sandwich and watched him happily.

Clearly nothing was scaring this girl off. Lucas glanced around; it didn't look like she planned on leaving anytime soon. He really didn't plan on eating more of the food, either. But she was insistent on him sharing a picnic with her. It couldn't hurt too much, he guessed. It wasn't like he was doing this all the time; relaxing and eating food he didn't have to work for. It's not like she'd lead other humans there, to him...right? He inched forward again. Maybe, if the food was gone, she'd go back home? He tried one of the biscuits next, not backing off as far, but not staying too close to her, either.

Already, he could tell he wasn't overly fond of the bread in general; they were too dry. He supposed they were probably supposed to be, but he didn't like it. At least the sandwich had had something in between the slices; there was nothing else in the biscuits. The juice, he decided he wasn't really going to try; as a wolf, he'd have to lap it up, putting his tongue into it. She couldn't drink it after that. It was the same with the pudding; she couldn't have it after he had already put his tongue in it. So he didn't, and just sat nearby, watching her eating.

She looked at him and giggled slightly. It was a by cute to watch him eat. It was as if he was a shy puppy. "No need to be so shy. All of that was for you." She said. She had eaten her pudding lots of times the same for the juice. She opened the juice container and poured it into a cup. "Go on. It's all yours." She said now fascinated by this creature. She could help but show such interest in it. It's ways were so mysterious to her and she wanted to learn more. "I wish I knew you name."

Well, the juice wasn't exactly what he really wanted, but Lucas was willing to try it, at least. He hesitantly moved a bit closer, sniffing at the cup of juice. He didn't know what to make of the taste. It was sweet, but not what he was used to. Maybe the water was better, but it was a nice change, at least. Pudding was a dessert, after all. That could wait. He glanced at the girl. She seemed to be constantly watching him. Was he really that interesting? Well, he guessed this was something she didn't see every day, anyway. He still wasn't entirely sure whst to make of her, either.

He tilted his head to one side, debating. His name? Was he willing to tell her his name just yet? That would involve showing his human form. He wasn't ready to show her that yet. He would just have to leave it be for now. Maybe he would tell her later, when he felt a little more like changing his form. Having finishedhis cup of juice, he sat again, watching the girl.

She smiled while looking at him then laid back onto the soft grass. She felt so relaxed now all of a sudden. Being around the wolf made her feel safe. "I know I must have been troubling you for so long. Coming into your forest and wandering around. I truly do appreciate you having mercy on me and saving my life. Your my hero Mr. Wolf." She dsid before giggling. "Don't worry. I never told anyone about what happened so no humans should be pestering around here. Other then me."

Lucas blinked, thinking. That was what she though he was really worried about? He could handle any humans, or get away before they saw him. That wasn't a real problem. The biggest problem was probably getting used to someone else being near him. Sure, she had wandered into his forest before, but this was different. They were actually talking. Well, she was, he could only listen at this point, until he decided to change to his human form, anyway. That wasn't going to be happeningwasn't anyht away, either.

He thought about what she had said. Mercy? It had nothing to do with mercy, it was because she was a child. Children shouldn't be in trouble like that, not so young, not when they couldn't yet defend themselves. It was just a matter of principle, and his own morals. It didn't matter too much, though, since that was what she thought of him. It just showed him in a better light. That wouldn't bother him much usually, but he had company at the moment. Anything helped. He certainly wasn't any sort of hero, either. But whatever she thought, he couldn't correct it at the moment.

Finally he sniffed at the pudding. She had said she had made it herself, right? Then she could make more for herself whenever she wanted. Eating that on his own wouldn't be a problem then, would it? He gave her a brief glance before starting to eat the pudding. He couldn't remember the last time he had had pudding.

She paused then smiled while looking at him. He was quite interested in her pudding. "I hope I made it to your liking." She said with a smile. Her family had many passed down recipes and their famous pudding was quite a favorite. "It's my grandmothers recipe. She was the pristess before me. She was a wonderful woman." She said before giggling. "Go on it's all yoirs." She said wanting to pet him but knew it was wrong.

Lucas hesitated. The priestess before her? She was the next priestess? Well, that certainly didn't help things. The priestess was supposed to look out for the village. What if the villagers saw him as a threat? But at the same time, what was she going to do about it? It just made the situation a little awkward, was all. Oh well, that probably wouldn't happen, anyway. He finished the pudding, then sat, watching the girl. The priestess, he corrected himself. Well that made things a little different. But, on the bright side, she wouldn't do any harm to him.

He had gotten pretty close, and was sitting closer to her than he had before. Still, though, things weren't too bad. The food was good, and she seemed nice enough. Maybe sitting out and waiting for her when she came to the forest wouldn't be too bad an idea. At least he would be fed. He hesitated. Maybe that was a bad thing, though? Maybe it wouldmakehim lazy? Or he could just do more patrols, or something...but that might get boring. He hesitated before lying down where he was. Might as well get comfortable for now, anyway.

She smiled as she watched him finish the pudding and sat down by her. She was happy that he had lightened up to her. She finally felt like she earned her savior a trust. She lightly turned to him and smiled. "I greatly appreciate the time you spared for me today. I know you could have take the food and ran off. I wouldn't have been mad but...... Lucas hesitated. A hug? When was the last time that had happened? It hadn't; werewolves didn't really hug. He knew how it worked, though; he didn't hang out with humans, but he had seen them, definitely. He wasn't sure how it would work; he wasn't human, at least, not in human form. What was he supposed to do? Just sit there? He watched her, debating carefully. But, in the end, it really couldn't hurt, could it? It wouldn't kill him. He sat up again, heaving a little sigh.

He waited a moment, watching for her reaction. Then he gave a small, slight nod. It couldn't be too bad...right?
