Naja stood in front of DoriĂĄnâs school, holding the picture of Kurama and DoriĂĄn. He sighed, not wanting to have to divulge this information to DoriĂĄn, a young man he considered his child. The truth was that DoriĂĄnâs mother was killed and DoriĂĄnâs father contacted Naja to look over his son. Agreeing, Naja took the little child in and raised him in many martial arts, prepping the boy to one day fulfill his destiny. This Kurama fellow Naja had met once before and appreciated how much the young man cared for his âsonâ. Kurama was indeed a friend to DoriĂĄn and thus the only reason Naja had agreed to allow DoriĂĄn to go to this college.
Sighing, Naja closed his eyes and chanted. He could feel the discord within the world. He could sense the darkness, and with a quick snatch of his hands, the imps that were following him were constricted by an invisible force. Naja glared at them before destroying all but one. This one would be his messenger.
âYou go and tell your master that he will NOT succeed. The Mystics will rise once more, and we will put a stop to Lord Manacia.â
The imp flew off in a hurry, fearing for its life to deliver the message to Daimion.
Naja looked up, making sure no one had saw what had just happened. He entered quietly into the school.
DoriĂĄn and Kurama sat in the class listening to the teacher talk about boring economics. As if on cue, the man switched into discussing his personal life, nearly putting everyone to sleep. Finally, after an agonizing hour of listening to the man, the instructor released the class, reminding them about their homework assignments and the test they had coming up next Friday.
âMr. Fulcher, what will the test consist of?â one of the students who got on everyoneâs nerves asked with a smug smile.
âChapters one through five, and a study guide is online for your viewing pleasure,â Mr. Fulcher replied as he took all of the homework from the previous night, âany more questions?â
There was silence and that was when Mr. Fulcher allowed them to leave. As Kurama and DoriĂĄn made their way to their dorm, Kuramaâs girlfriend approached smiling as she kissed her lover and hugged DoriĂĄn.
âWassup Samantha?â DoriĂĄn stated as he released her from the hug.
âNothing much. Where are you two headed?â Samantha asked as she walked with DoriĂĄn and Kurama, Kuramaâs arm wrapped around Samanthaâs waist.
âTo the dorm, why? What did you have in mind babe?â Kurama asked with a smirk.
âNothing, I got one more class and then Iâm out for the night. I hadnât seen you all day and just thought Iâd see what you were up to,â Samantha stated, âbut I would love if you came over tonight. Popcorn and a movie?â
âSounds good babe,â Kurama replied, as he released Samantha from his hold and watched her walk away.
âYou two seem in love,â DoriĂĄn stated with a smirk, teasing Kurama.
âDude, come on, letâs get back to this room, Iâm starving.â
It didnât take them long to get to the dorm, but as DoriĂĄn neared the room, he could feel a familiar presence. He looked up at Kurama and held out his hand. Opening the door slowly, DoriĂĄn peered in and saw a figure standing in the middle of the room. Turning around Naja faced DoriĂĄn with a soft smile.
âIâve missed you my son,â Naja stated as he watched the young man rush over to him and hug him tightly.
âIâve missed you too dad, but what are you doing here?â DoriĂĄn asked releasing Naja from the hug. Kurama smiled and walked in closing the door behind him.
âIâm afraid what Iâm about to tell you will change your lives forever.â Naja stated with a saddened look.
âWait, lives? As if more than one? Youâre not talking about me are you?â Kurama asked with an awkward expression.
âIâm afraid so Kurama Sakura. Please, sit down and listen.â
Naja began to weave the tale, informing both DoriĂĄn and Kurama of what was, and what could be. He explained to them the mystic magic that dwelled within each of them, and told them how theyâd have to train to master it. He informed them that he didnât want to awaken any of them, instead doing it on his own, but the higher council voted against it, and that was his reason for doing this. He explained everything to them, and after he finished speaking he looked at them both.
âI know it is a lot to take in, and I will not force you into anything. Here take these. If you accept, simply read the inscription and youâll be teleported to me. Iâm sorry I kept this from you DoriĂĄn, but I had no choice, I was bound by oath to keep the secret until I was ordered to find you all.â
Kurama took the card and DoriĂĄn took his, but DoriĂĄn stood up.
âDad, I know you wouldnât ask if it werenât serious. You have my word that I will do all it takes to make sure this world is safe. Count me in.â
Kurama looked at DoriĂĄn rather shocked.
âWhat about Anthony? Are you just going to leave him without telling him something?â Kurama questioned as he sighed and turned his head. He didnât know what to do. He didnât want to leave Samantha in the dark, and he didnât want to let DoriĂĄn do this on his own. He had to accept his responsibility, but he didnât know if it WAS his responsibility. He was conflicted, but he knew what was best.
DoriĂĄn looked at Kurama and then Naja.
âYou must do what is right, but I will not hold anything against either of you,â Naja stated, âI understand it is a burden to bear, but if you wish, I will allow you to tell only one person. Make sure that person is trustworthy.â
Kurama looked up at Naja.
âWhen will our training begin?â
âWhen you decide what is best Kurama. I must be going, I have one more to visit before I take refuge at the base. DoriĂĄn, Kurama, I believe in both of you. Look into yourselves and do what is best.â
With that said, Naja vanished leaving DoriĂĄn and Kurama with much to think about.
DoriĂĄn sighed and looked at Kurama.
âWhat do you think?â
âI donât know!â
Naja sat atop the college looking at the photograph of Casamir. He sighed, knowing that others were after the mystics as well. He just hoped they realized how much they were needed.
âI need to visit the high council,â Naja stated as he stood up and vanished, heading to locate Casamir, who he remembered was with Syeira.
