Her vision is clouded then — only perceiving what others wish her to see. Some call her dutiful, others, easily manipulated. She likes to think herself a mixture of both, for more than her hapless cause, she has a purpose that very well precedes her. For in time, people will not remember the person in power, only their actions and consequences. And so It’s because of this belief that she should maintain a legacy, that she does the things she must.
She’s a romantic at heart who believes in a system that no longer benefits her. Years worth of resentment, created by neglect and high expectations, seem to disappear with the utterance of a few well placed compliments. Estelle is satisfied, and her pursuit of personal perfection remains. There’s something sad though about the way she craves validation as if she needs it to survive. Something vile and disgusting that she herself recognizes, but cannot not admit out loud. It’s pitiful, and she doesn’t know how to stop.
To the public eye, she presents herself in a manner that befits a queen of her standing; calm, detached and with a harshness that forgoes her nature. It’s all been learnt, however. The way she stares into other’s eyes, unflinching. The steel in her voice when she commands. It’s become so much a part of her that she’s forgotten how else to live. Doesn’t want to know how else to live.
Many have called her blunt, to the point of mean harshness. Where the words she means to be gentle are razors that cut deep, and the praise she offers genuinely is twisted into jealous mockery. With the bone engraved moral to always speak your mind Estelle doesn’t know how to stop; and people, she finds, are very willing to criticize, but never help.
She’s cruel in the way she never relents, always expecting better of those around her. Estelle always condemns, and judges those who do not meet her expectations; for in her eyes they’re not trying hard enough. Constantly afraid of betrayal, or worse — honesty, she uses her position to keep everyone around her at a safe distance. She expects the worst from everyone, and doesn’t know how to react when the opposite proves to be true.

Mathematician / She sees the world in numbers, knows knows the percentages of possible outcomes, and the most efficient of plans.
Relentless / There is something to be said about a person who works tirelessly for their goals.
II. . . . .

Physicality / She was never meant to fight someone physically, and has never been trained to do so. It’s hard for her to put all of her trust in Levir, her guard, but somehow she manages.
Perturbed / She cannot calm her racing thoughts of disaster — of failure. Perhaps she has no qualms about dying, but it’s the idea that she could not complete what she set out to do that disturbs her.

into the fray
Her whole life, conducted by the whims of The Council. Of course, thoughts of dissidence had crossed her mind, but it was always the overlooking fear of failure that silenced her thoughts. So it was that she lived with the expectations that she should be as great as her mother. Her mother who was changing the course of history by changing the rules of the game.
It was up to Estelle to protect her legacy.
When her mother died at age seventy, as every other Queen would, Estelle took the crown with a heart that froze upon contact. Her fate was sealed, and she accepted it whole heartedly.
