Mystic Circle

The Exons were having another of their backyard rendevous that day, like they did most afternoons. Kimoko was sitting in the grass on a blanket next to their lily pond. She was sitting cross legged, practicing her Ujjayi breathing excercises while little Eiji sat on the edge of the water, dangerously close, dipping his finger into the still surface, making little circles. His mother was too preoccupied by her meditading while her husband was too busy tending to his garden.

Like a gust of wind through a quiet meadow, Kai swooped in on the serene scene. She came through the back door of the house with shopping bags on one arm and her little brother on the other.

"Greetings family!" she said grandly "We've returned from yet another escapade of the financial kind."
"Did you all have a nice time?" Haru asked as the two teens settled on the blanket with their mother and little brother. Umi grabbed Eiji and pulled him away from the water and onto his lap.

"Oh yes!" Kai enthused "It was lovely. This time, we got purses."
"You got purses" Umi corrected.
"I got purses" she agreed "And we both got lunch at this little Tai place."

"Sounds lovely dear" Kimoko said in her breathy voice.
"Did you have a nice time in the village today Mother?" Kai wondered.
"Yes. I got all of my nessecary painting supplies" she said "Now I can begin that landscape I've been meaning to start."

"Good for you mother" Kai agreed "So, where are the kitties?"
"Inside, I suppose" Kimoko siad easily.

"Why didn't you have them come out with you?" she wondered.
Kimoko shrugged. "They do as they please Kai" she said simply "Who am I to hinder their natural course?"

Kai sighed dramatically "Well would it disrupt their natural course to invite them to come outside?"
"If you wish" her mother said simply.

"Yay!" Kai cheered, jumping to her feet and running over to the backdoor. She opened the door and leaned into the cool, air conditioned house and called for her nekos. "Lulu! Aoi!" she called their names loudly "Here, kitty kitty kitties."

Blaise was in the backyard of her house dribbling the soccer ball around, while Saiyori was lying on the grass under the cherry blossom tree reading. Saiyori flipped the page then sat up and looked at Blaise. "Where's mother?" she asked as she watched Blaise dribble the ball around.
"She went on a business trip." Blaise said as she kicked the ball hard to the other side of the yard.
"Oh.... Well, aren't the two nekos getting here today?" Saiyori said as she closed the book and set it down on the ground next to her.
"I think so." Blaise picked up the soccer ball and started juggling it on her knees. "But how should I know?"
"I'm bored...."
Blaise sighed. Saiyori was the same as always, always saying something random all of a sudden. "Well then go find something fun to do." Blaise grabbed the soccer ball in mid air and started walking towards the house. "I'll be inside" she said then went inside the house.
Saiyori moaned and then lied back down on the grass and stared up at the cherry blossoms that hung above her. I wonder when the nekos will get here.... she thought. I'm so bored! There's nothing to do....

Dante

Dante Alsanai flipped the pancake in the pan once more, catching it perfectly in the pan. Lyra's favorite breakfast, pancakes with apple slices, caramel sauce, butter and syrup. He needed a way to cheer her up every morning since his wife died. This was just one of the few things he did to accomplish that goal. He had made quite a bit as well, knowing the neko's would be hungry. He wouldn't eat this however. He would settle for egg and bacon with buttered toast. He hummed a little tune as he set the table and nodded at his own work. It was quite a brunch he had set up. He placed a hand by his mouth. "Lyra! Get our little friends up and tell them brunch is on!" He called cheerfully.

Lyra

Lyra was laying on her bed, her arms crossed behind her head and eyes closed as she listened to the small radio that accounted for her alarm clock. She had been up for a while, just listening to the music. She saw no reason to get up and start what she was sure would be a boring day.

"Lyra! Get our little friends up and tell them brunch is on!"

Lyra sighed and slowly got out of bed, remaining in her pajama's She walked out of her room and stretched, walking to the room's that her dad had supplied the neko's. She didn't bother to even open the doors. She just knocked on each one saying. "Time to eat. Get up." She walked into the dining room and sat down at the table. Only 2 weeks and she was still hating it here.

A young man parked his van in front of a mansion in a ritzy neighborhood known as Mystic Circle. He climbed out of his car and went around back to open the trunk. In the back of the van were several large cages containing nekos that he'd been scheduled to drop off to their new owners that day. There were two scheduled to be dropped off at this house that day; a male and a female, both in seperate cages. Their names were Angie and Yuki but he didn't know that.

"Okay kitties," he said, "Welcome to your new homes." He unlocked the cage of the male and used a chain to leash him. He pulled the male from the truck and then used his one free hand to do the same to the female. He then led the two leashed nekos to the front door and paused to ring the doorbell. He waited, keeping a tight grip on the nekos, and waited for their potential owners to answer the door.

As usual, morning for the Akiyoshi family was as lively as ever. The mother, Akio was humming in the kitchen, looking through the fridge to see if there was anything to eat. "Hmm.... tell me my darlings, what do you want for breakfast today?" she called out, having no idea what kind of fear this question brought to the whole family. The twins, Hiro and Shiro, who were fooling around on the grand piano, stopped staring at their mother.

Hayashi, the second oldest from the five siblings, paused his video game, tilting his head back. "O-okasan... yo-you're going to cook?" he asked, exchanging glances with whoever else was in the living room. The mother tilted her head before laughing, "Of course not. As much as I hate to admit it, I'm terrible at cooking. There's no way I'm going to cook. I just wanted to ask what you all wanted." she answered, waving a hand in the air.

All of them let out a sigh of relief. "Uh well, I guess bacon and egg will do." Hayashi answered. "French Toast!!!" the twins yelled in union. "Waffles.." a soft voice came from upstairs. Miyuki, the youngest of the family had finally woken up from her little slumber. Hugging her stuffed bunny close to her chest, she skipped down the stairs, and took a seat besides her oldest brother. "Oh, and with strawberry please." she added with a small giggle.

There was a loud slam, once again coming from upstairs. "Oh..? Looks like the angry beast is up." Hayashi mumbled, going back to his game. The twins laughed at the remark, but stopped as Yuri stormed downstairs. "Angry beast huh?" she growled, chucking a soccer ball onto his head. Yuri was never a morning person... ever. Letting out a small sigh, she lazily fixed her hair, walking into the kitchen. "Good morning Okasan, Ojiisan." she greeted. "Oh, and today's breakfast is waffles." she announced. Hayashi raised an eyebrow, "Why? I wanted bacon and egg." he murmured. Yuri glared at him, "Because... Miyuki wanted it. If you want bacon and egg... cook it yourself."

Miyuki raised her hand as if she was in school, "How about the nekos?" she asked. "Lets go wake them up." Hiro suggested, getting off the piano seat. "KIKI, ANGEL!!! WAKIE WAKIE!!" Shiro yelled.

Stretching Aoi rubbed the back of her head, slowly bringing herself to her feet and peeking from a corner to see Lulu there. Grinning she snuck up on him and wrapped her arms around his neck hoping to surprise him. " I want to go outside." she looked up at Umi, her tail swaying back and forth. " LuLu, will you play with me today...please...?" She rested her head on his as she awaited his reply. She loved the outdoors more then staying inside, she especially hate it when it rained. Well...she hated water in general, having her take a bath was like trying to fit a circle into a square gap.

Hopefully they won't leash me... a small purr escape her lips as she rubbed her cheek against Lulu's soft hair.

Kiki was passed out on the floor curled up in a ball. She was dreaming of eating delicious food and started to drool in her sleep. As soon as she heard Shiro's voice her ears twitched a little as she started to wake up, but she decided to go back to sleep. As soon as she was about to fall back to sleep the smell of waffles drifted to her. As she sniffed the air her ears perked up and her eyes opened. When it came to food Kiki didn't care if she was dead tired, she would always eat whenever there was food. Kiki stretched and her ears drooped back down, she was still sleepy but she really wanted to eat. She stood up and slowly started making her way to the kitchen. On her way she bumped into a few walls but she was to tired to care. She walked into the kitchen and rubbed her eyes. Kiki looked at everyone and yawned "Nya~~" She sat down on the floor and started nodding off.

Angie stayed cuddled up in a corner as the van she sat in jerked over a bump in the road making her cling to the cage in order not to fall over. Looking around she saw others of her kind in their cages, she felt... afraid, afraid of the place they were possibly going, afraid of the place she was going.
That was just the way Angie was, she was terrified of anything new or strange, she wanted to huddle up to someone she could trust, someone she knew wouldn't hurt her.
But sadly she didn't know anyone she could trust anymore, her first owners when she was a child had stricken her many times that now she was scarred, it made her tremble at the thought. Her second owner had been a sweet old lady called mirian, she had loved mirian as she tended to her and spoiled her with sweets which she was a sucker for she couldn't deny.
But just as Angie's life was starting to go well, mirian caught a human disease and soon fell ill so much so that she passed away leaving Angie alone and instantly shipped off to a pet center for Nekos.
That was how she found herself in the cage now, she had been adopted, but she knew nothing about the adoption or the people who were to be her new owners as the humans never told the nekos such details back at the shelter.

Suddenly the van came to a halt with alittle jerk shocking Angie to fall on her knees at the motion, the back door opened to a sheer blinding light compared to the darkness of the van. The human driver got into it and began to unlock the cage of a male neko somewhere near the back, she wondered if he would be alright in his new home just as the human surprisingly stopped at her cage.
She watched a little amazed as he began unbolting the door of her cage coaxing her out to put a lease onto the colloar on her neck as he dragged them both out of the van and into the outside sunshine.
Angie squinted when she saw it holding up her arm to shield her eyes, was she being rehomed with another neko? That had never happend to her before... what would it like being adopted with another neko..
"Okay kitties, welcome to your new homes." the man who held tightly onto their leashes said knocking on the front door of a rather pleasent house Angie noted removing her hand to look it up and down.

[Sebastian]

"Now, remember, you're going to be recieving two nekos today, so be sure to answer the door, alright?"
"Yes, yes, now remind me again what use I have for pets again?"
"Stop playing stupid, Sebastian. You're next book is going to have nekos in it, so I need to study up on them."
"Can't I just read a book or something?"
"No. You need to get out more, see them for yourself. Now, remember you're deadline, I'll be coming over to pick up the manuscript then, okay?"

Without answering his editor, he ended the call. Sebastian was sitting at his desk in his room, and leaned back as he wondered how he got coerced into getting a couple of nekos. It wasn't like he didn't like pets, he was just never very comfortable around them. Besides, he had no idea on how to take care of a neko or two. What did they even eat? Could they be potty-trained? Sebastian rubbed his temples worriedly. He didn't want to have pets if he couldn't take care of them.

And so, Sebastian turned on his computer. When in doubt, ask the Internet.

Kuroneko curled up on a couch, sleeping happily. He was dreaming of playing with a ball, and his tail switched as he dreamed.
