officer in the United States Air Force and with NASA/Russian Federal Space Agency's Project Planet Shield
Alice is proud and arrogant. She does not take it well when someone bests her. She is also quite intellegent. She has another side, a soft, mothering side that slips out whenever she is in a position where she is responsible for others

At age 24, Alice believed she was the youngest person on the mission. She graduated the United States Air Force Academy ranked fifth in her class of 2032 at the age of 21. She survived her tenure as an underclassman and as the youngest cadet by becoming the designated driver for the upperclassmen and the older cadets. Even before her graduation, Alice showed such promise she was sent to the air warfare school for training as an F-16 and F-22 pilot. After graduation, she was assigned to an F-22 squadron attached to the New Mexico Air National Guard. While she was not flying, Alice took distance learning classes through the Air Force in preparation for a master's degree and eventual doctorate in astronomy and aerospace engineering, with the ultimate goal of becoming an astronaut. After the alien ship appeared, Alice was recruited by NASA into Project Planet Shield, originally a joint project between NASA, the Russian Federal Space Agency, the Air Force, and the Russian Air Force designed to launch nuclear tipped booster rockets from B-52 and Tu-95 bombers at near-Earth asteroids in danger of striking Earth. Project Planet Shield was integrated into the general entity investigating the aliens. At first, Alice was to be assigned to air defense, but was transfered at the last minute to the space mission. She was disgusted and greatly disappointed to discover she was stuck in a senior support role, while the role of pilot was given to some fresh kid.
