Amaranth usually wears a dark green tunic like blouse that is short sleeved and has a v-neck. Unlike most females in the time period, she wears a pair of pant like leggings, though she wears a multi-layered skirt over that. The skirt has several layers that almost ruffle out. Unlike most Hobbits, she wears a pair of boots, though this was somewhat common for the Fallhide Hobbits. These boots come up just below her knees. Inside her right boot, she keeps a dagger in a sheath.
Amaranth carries around a large bag that has an assortment of traveling items and her instrument of choice at that time. Normally, it is her violin.

Likes:
Adventures | Food | Ale | Music | Listening to stories / Legends | Daydreaming
Dislikes:
Rude and closed minded people | To be underestimated | Wine
Strengths:
Resilient | Brave when needed to be
Racial Traits:
**Light Foot - When it is necessary or simply, when she wants to, Amaranth can walk very quietly and sneak up on someone. This (and the fact she is short) helps with quick get aways when necessary.
**Shortness- Being short has its advantages. Amaranth can hide and climb through small spaces that others might not be able to fit through.
**Long Fingers (not sure if it's an ability, but who knows, it might come in handy...)
**Long Sight and Excellent Hearing - Though these senses might not be as good as elves, they are better than that of a Man. With her long ears, Amaranth has an amazing hearing on a normal basis but if she focused, it would be even better. Her eye sight is perfect for hobbit standards, which would be just under the level of eye sight that a normal elf might have.
Personal Abilities:
**Bardic Instruments- Amaranth generally carries around a violin, however, she is extremely skilled at playing the flute, guitar, and lute.
**Lullaby- Though this does not always work, Amaranth is skilled at playing slow melodies that seem to soothe creatures and calm them, to the extent of putting some to sleep.
**Basic Defense with a Dagger- Amaranth would not be an expert in this, by any means, however, she does know the basics of battling with a dagger or short sword.
**Spiritual Uplifting- When everyone seems to be ready to give up, this small hobbit often plays uplifting melodies and seems to be able to lift everyone's spirit once more. This could just be the boost someone needs to keep the fight going!
Weaknesses/Fears:
Normal sized horses (F) | Helping others (W) | Long Distance Running (W)
Personality:
Amaranth is a very happy-go-lucky Hobbit who has a love for music and adventure. She often sings of other's adventures, as hers aren't as great. She is very kind and polite unless she is pushed too far, then she is a fierce ball of fury! She goes out of her way to help anyone she can, and always tries to see the best in people. However, this tends to lead her to be too trusting, which causes trouble often. Being a bard, she is very talkative, but also an excellent listened so that she can absorb the stories told by others. She loves meeting new people and new areas.
History:
Amaranth Brandybuck was born to two hobbits in Bree. In order to give their daughter a 'quiet' life, they moved to Hobbiton in the Shire. It wasn't long before they realized that she was not like the other hobbit children of the Shire. Many of the people often whispered that the girl was of pure Fallohide blood, because of her curiosity and love for adventure and mischief. Since the three clans started mixing more than three hundred years prior, it wasn't possible for her to be pure Fallohide. None the less, the small town's people talked and complained about the child often. They also commented how she was like the Baggins boy and the Took boys, though she was a good 20-30 years younger.
As Amaranth got older, she fell in love with the stories told by Bilbo and, when he was around, Gandalf. The idea of seeing the elves was more tantalizing than anything else. They were so unique and from what she heard, they were fascinating. It wasn't long before she started making up songs for the stories Bilbo told her, as well as making songs for her own imaginary adventures. Unlike most Hobbits of the area, Amaranth was not very fond (or even very good at) cooking or gardening. As a last resort, her parents begged the owner of the tavern to let her work there. Seeing as it was pretty much the only thing she could do, the owner begrudgingly agreed. Though she was a barmaid, she often sang and when it was a tune the Hobbits knew, they enjoyed her songs.
When she was 15, her father brought home a violin from one of his trips to Bree. The girl was amazed at the sound it made and became extremely skilled at playing and singing with the instrument. This was when she decided to be a bard. In Hobbiton, she continued to work at the tavern while singing her songs when she could, but at 30, she finally decided it was time to leave the Shire.
Guided by her father, who was a merchant who traveled between Bree and the Shire often, she planned her first real adventure. However, the small trip would be changed into an adventure to see the elves, like she had dreamed of as a child.
