⌈"Let's see if I can make a good first impression."βŒ‹

Well, Nila certainly has a wide variety of these at her disposal, most of them not very flattering. Nereus himself gives them out like candy; all of them pet names. However, he will never address any two people by the same name.

Eighteen "years" old.

Child of the Sea.

Child of the Sea #1.

⌈Face ClaimβŒ‹
Kamui Gakupo from Vocaloid.

⌈"I wonder how many of you are judging me by looks alone?"βŒ‹

⌈Hair ColorβŒ‹
A dark purple.

⌈Eye ColorβŒ‹
Bright, vivid blue.

⌈Skin ToneβŒ‹
Very pale.

Six foot one inch when standing, roughly seven and a half feet long when swimming.

One-hundred and sixty-two pounds while standing, nearly two-hundred while swimming.

⌈Physical DescriptionβŒ‹
Let me paint you a picture. Nereus is a person who is utterly comfortable with his body, and it shows. He exudes an aura of unshakable confidence, and, to be honest, it takes but a single look at him to figure out why. Nereus is very handsome in an exotic, unconventional way. Long, finely boned, aristocratic face, and ridiculous hair to boot.

In his human form, Nereus is a tall young man with a swimmer's build. Broad shoulders, long arms, and a torso that tapers at the hips. His muscles are compact, but not bulky. Lengthy, glamorous purple hair that falls into gleaming coils. Yes, even his hair must be fabulous. Since on land there is a lot of hairstyle possibilities, Nereus is fond of experimenting with hairstyles. As such, his hair will rarely be left straight, and will frequently be tied up into anything from elaborate messes of braids, to a tasteful yet simple bun, to feathers and beads, to an assortment of different ponytails. However, anything that requires chemicals or heat treatments to stay in place will be discarded, so no curls or gelled spikes or anything similar.

Similarly, Nereus has a distinctly natural sense of style, if he has any say about it. Thing is, he doesn't actually own any clothing, per say. After all, for what use would an underwater dweller have for clothing? Where would he even keep it? Basically, this means that when Nereus switches from his aquatic form to his land form, he'll be running around in his birthday suit until he can find some clothing. Not that he minds, haha. Due to this, Nereus can be found wearing an assortment of clothing, most ill-fitting and sometimes designed for the opposite gender.

In his marine form, Nereus has a distinctly unique appearance. His hair will always be left unstyled. He is a lot more... fishy... than other children of the sea. In all honesty, it's a bit grotesque and mutant-like. In addition to the normal mermaid features (gills, tail, fins on the forearms, ect.), Nereus' has multiple fins at different points on his body, such as his waist, his neck, and his back. A good portion of the skin on his torso isn't human, but rather the a strange fishy, scale-like material. The most prominent difference, however, are his hands. Rather than normal human hands, they're large, monstrous clawed appendages.

⌈"What, are you interested? Is that so...."βŒ‹

⌈Potential InterestβŒ‹
Though it's common knowledge Nereus has harbored an unrequited crush on Sora for ages, Nereus is interested in everyone. Deciding whether that interest leads to drowning or a bed is the tricky part.

⌈Power AbilitiesβŒ‹
βœ” Basic Water Manipulation || A power that pretty much every child of the sea possesses, it's nothing special. Nereus can control and manipulate pre-existing water, can't summon it or filter it from something similar like blood or pee. He can however, pull pure water from mixed substances, like juice or salt-water, or mud. Just nothing that's been chemically combined or significantly altered. The water has to be pretty nearby, too; Nereus has to be able to clearly visualize what he wants to do with it, and normally this means within eyesight. His control isn't very precise, however, so he can't create fast moving blades/whips or whatever. Typically he'll simply move the water to surround people's faces and drown them, or simply uses the ability for mundane purposes like washing off or cooking.
βœ” Staple Mermaid Powers || This includes water kisses (the ability to allow others to breath underwater for a limited period of time, similar to reverse CPR), seeing underwater, breathing underwater, speed-swimming and so on. Salt won't dry him out, and heavy water-pressure won't make his body collapse. I'm not talking anything fancy here, it's just a bunch of pretty self-explanatory stuff that allows children of the sea to live normally day to day. Unfortunately, this includes the element of forced shifting. Extremely low-moisture environments will force Nereus into his human form, and vice versa. Additionally, very cold temperatures or heavy injuries can force him into his mer form, due to the fact that it is better built for handling high-stress situations. It has a higher cold tolerance for deeper parts of the ocean, and since it is his natural form Nereus will have an easier time recovering from injury in that form.

β™₯ lHairstyles || With such long, malleable hair, how could Nereus not? I mean, it's all he has to work with fashion-wise. Nereus doesn't really understand the appeal to clothing besides the protection it can offer. His hair is a part of him, so it feels a lot more natural to accessorize and beautify himself, rather than a piece of clothing. But it doesn't have to be him, Nereus likes working with anyone's hair, though he doesn't like cutting it. The whole thing is just really fun.

✘ Restrictive Clothing || Clothing was invented for a purpose; protecting people from the elements and other people. It's a tool, something with a measurable and solid use. Why the hell would anyone use it for something completely pointless and stupid?

βœͺ Immunity to Awkwardness || Nereus doesn't have a strong enough understanding of land-culture to even realize he's breaking some unwritten social rule. And, even if he did, his force-field of confidence wouldn't let it bother him anyways. Rather, he finds the embarrassment of others amusing. He sees no point in getting uncomfortable over trivial things like bodily functions or surprise encounters.

Kensington, London. A quaint little district nestled in the western fragment of the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea, it’s notorious for being the best shopping alley across the expanse of England. With it’s plethora of boutiques, bakeries, antiques and entertainments, it isn’t a wonder why civilians of all social spheres flock to the cobblestone walks, each length teamed with artfully crafted oaks. Though, despite the boulevard providing endless thrills for this eclectic medley, only a select few have the first rate heaven of residing within the Victorian flats looming in the backdrop...even a smaller percent of that elite class being a full fledged family. And yet, this is precisely where our story takes wing.

As twilight descends on the abandoned focal square, the winds holding an iced spite from the North, it is here that the true face of Kensington springs to life. Those aforementioned high class patrons are bustling about in their homes, each one ruffled with anticipation for whichever soiree is being fabricated that night… however, one family in particular is scampering about a tad bit more than it’s neighbours. The Kingsley household, with it’s 5 members, call home to the second largest suite within this sectioned off heaven; Number 14 on Bloomsbury Avenue...and, while impressive, it has a pricetag to match it’s prestige. However, with a highly regarded lawyer and socialite, the father and mother respectively, money has never been an issue for this purebred name. Though, if one was judging their class by the standards of their children, one would have to scoff at the notion of them even glancing at Bloomsbury. Even now, as Mr. & Mrs. Kingsley are preparing for an evening laced with champagne, dancing and laughter, the rambunctious attitude has yet to cease. While the mother hounds the two youngest, the Prince and Princess of the family, to quell their racing argument, the father has busied himself with doling out strict instructions to the eldest, the tertiary guardian of Apartment #14… yet, the head’s parting words will soon be all for naught. Unbeknownst to Mr. and Mrs. Kingsley, their beloved children are being carefully watched by a figure that has only existed within the sister’s goodnight stories; Peter Pan.

Meanwhile, upon the Mainland, the typical summer climate has been chilled to wintry blanket, white snow encasing the earth and ice protecting the sea. Sensing it’s nonofficial king’s absence, the magic within this otherworldly realm has receded from its inhabitant’s everyday lives, most now struggling to carry out even the most undemanding actions (such as flying or changing forms). Though that isn’t the most pressing concern at the moment.. no no, it’s far from that. The ship of the infamous pirate captain, James Hook, has been spotted not too far off the coast line, currently held in place by the frozen water’s greedy embrace. However, it’s only natural that they would attempt to make a movement to seize the Mainland at this point..what better time to do such then when the all powerful Pan is away?

Thankfully, the King, like always, is two steps ahead from the pirates; before leaving to retrieve the Heirs, the Lost Children were given explicit instructions. While under the Second-in-Command’s constructed administration, this group of orphans are to stalk and track the movement of the crew, attempting their best to keep the scoundrels off the land...and, if need be, fight tooth and nail to protect the beaches. However, the pirates have a similar interest regarding the Lost Children; capture and interrogate them to reveal Pan’s whereabouts, his plans. After all, with luck, maybe the King has disappeared for good?

As the Lost Children and Pirates begin to generate foul play with one another, the tribes have begun to do the same. Tensions are starting to arise between the three races, the lack of their Heirs sprinkling even more stress unto their councils more so than before. In fact, accusations are now being casually dispensed, each clan eager to pin the blame on another...some even targeting their King, Peter Pan, for his neglect to provide protection.
