Technological progress has merely provided us with more efficient means for going backwards. ~Aldous Huxley

When you think of his type of people, you probably think of a bunch of nerds who would still live in their mothers basements if moving hadn't been a necessity, people who can't talk to the opposite long enough to get their name. That's not Ben. Well...Not entirely. Is Ben somewhat socially awkward? Of course. But in a different sense than you may think. He's actually a rather outgoing guy, he makes friends easily enough, but has a little trouble keeping them. That would be because of his awkwardness. He seems to have trouble holding conversations that make sense and include other people. He'll often drone on and on about something before realizing no one's actually listening to him, or will talk about something, only to find out later that someone had already changed the subject. It can all be very awkward. He also just can't pick up what people are feeling, if his words upset them, or if they just really need to be left alone, this has caused a few people to blow up in his face, and he didn't appreciate that.
History
First Crime: Oh, that's easy. He hacked into his neighbor's bank account when he was fifteen and made quite a bit of that money his own. He did it little-by-little, so they wouldn't notice, but he did it. Sometimes he still wonders if they ever figured out why their money wasn't going as far as it used to. Though, he only did that because he could.
Benjamin Gordon was born the youngest of four children, being Martha and Robert's first, and last, son. Growing up with three older sisters teaches a boy some things; girls take forever to get ready in the morning, so it's a good idea to wake up at four-thirty in the morning so you can be ready before they wake up. Don't let them paint your nails for "fun" or you'll get beat up...The list goes on and on, but, basically, Ben had a normal life for a kid with three sisters. Three cruel, cruel sisters...They were total bitches to him his whole life, but he's proud to say he's got more money than the three of them combined, now. How's that for making something of yourself and getting out of Autauga county?
Though, aside from his sisters, growing up as an intellectual type in a small town in Alabama isn't the easiest thing for someone to do. Almost every day, Ben was faced with the fact that, just because he didn't want to play football and get his brains knocked out of his scull, the other boys were going to bully and tease him...And back then, if you were being bullied, it was entirely your problem to deal with. So he dealt with it, but not having friends, staying home, studying, getting to the point that he was pretty good with technology. The day his dad bought the family a computer, Ben swore he'd died and gone to heaven.
He graduated high school a year early (he had the opportunity and he was not sticking around there), and headed off to collage. The University of Alabama's technical programs weren't the best they could've been, but Ben's just happy to say he went there on a scholarship. Made his daddy proud, anyway. But after college, he promptly headed north, where it actually snows in winter and summers aren't quite so unbearable. To this day, Ben can't get over how great snow is, he'd never (really) seen the stuff until he was in his twenties, after all.
He found himself in New York several years back, and made money doing little jobs here and there when he had trouble finding a "real" job. Though, he loved the thrill of doing something less than legal; he was that mild-mannered kid that got picked on and just took it all, and now look at him! He got the attention of the group after hacking past a large-scale security mainframe in a few hours. The rest, they say, is history.
Other
Skill Set: For the most part, Ben's got your basic technician skill set; but he's very, very good at getting past security mainframes. There is not a firewall, proxy or whatever else you can throw at him that'll keep him out.
Preferred Equipment: He's got several algorithms and programs designed for breaking past security and so on and so forth, but he doesn't really have any preferred systems or anything of the like.
How often are you online?: I'm on and off all day, every day, barring when I'm busy, of course.
How often do you think you'll be to post?: At least once I day. I can normally post as soon as I'm able (aka; when the people my character's interacting with have posted.)
Do you like ice cream?: Sure. Mint chocolate chip's the best.
