Introduction
Later that day, while on her way to the College, Aurora could have sworn she saw a man dressed in all black with a large knife stalking her, which had occurred in one of her nightmares when she was only fifteen. Weird things continue to happen throughout the day. Things that she has seen only in her nightmares are coming to life.. Well, sorta. They are figments of her imagination that are visible to everyone and can hurt others, intentionally or not.
That day when she got back home from school, her grandma, who she lived with, explained everything to her. Aurora was not normal. She had the power to make anything from her dreams come true, whether she wanted them to or not. But she is not completely defenseless against her own creations. She finds out that there is a boy (Your Character) at her school who has the power to kill these creations and is assigned to protect Aurora. He watched over her as she sleeps and wakes her up if she has a nightmare before they can come true. But what happens when he goes from just doing his or her job, to protecting the one he loves?

The Story So Far... Write a Post » as written by 2 authors
A few hours and tv shows later, the sun finally decided to peak inside her room. Aurora showed a faint smile before heading into her closet and pulling out her clothes for the day. Her clothes were yoga pants and a blue, flowy dress shirt. This was her tired outfit, her grandma knew that and so did her friends. Dragging her feet behind her, she walked out of her room, downstairs and through the front door. Aurora hopped inside her black Mercedes before driving off to the college where she attended. The windows rolled down and her hair blowing back in the breeze.
Once arriving at The Lighthouse University, the brunette parked her car and strode towards her normal hangout area. Her friends greeted her with a smile and a "Whoa you look like Shit!" Aurora shrugged then sat down next to her bestfriend Tammy before glancing around the campus, hoping to see the boy sitting down or something. She needed help, and she was desperate to get it. The female would do just about anything to finally get a goods night rest. Shifting her view, she saw in the corner of her eye a man staring at her. His cloak was black and in his hand he held a knife. "Oh god.. Not again." She mumbled. The green eyed female ran her fingers through her hair, knowing that was the guy she had seen yesterday on her way home from classes. Thoughts raced through her head. "This boy needs to hurry up here.."
Morning came with chirping birds and the sounds of disgraced samurai fighting for their honour. Cole sat at his couch, feet propped up on the coffee table. His green eyes stared intently at his T.V as she shovelled cereal into his mouth. His show ended with his final bite of Cinnamon Toast Crunch and he got up with much mumbling and groaning. The show he was watching was certainly a nail biter and he was looking forward to finishing it after school. But alas there was much learning that needed to be done.
Cole went to the bathroom and gave his dark unruly hair a bit of a stare before deciding that fighting with it was not worth it. He let his hair be and brushed his teeth and took care of the rest of his business. He was dressed in an old T-shirt and faded blue jeans that hung low on his hips. He didn't care too much for how he looked and didn't bother to give himself the once over. He grabbed his books and keys and walked out of his apartment.
The walk to school was a short one and once he was there he was greeted to the sounds of college students. Friends meeting friends and the general roughhousing of young adults. He glanced around the campus seeing if he might spot the girl who he had been assigned to. It was a fairly new assignment, that had only begun a few days ago with a letter in the mail. He had only met her a few times and didn't know her too well.
He spotted her a few yards away and he adjusted the hold on his book and he walked up to her. She was clearly tired and her friends were looking quite concerned.
"Hello Aurora." He looked down at her and moved a hand to his pocket. "I get the feeling you need to see me." He looked around at her friends and gave them all a friendly smile.
Aurora quickly stood up and grabbed at his wrist, pulling him away from her friends, who were giving her the strangest stare. "Whats with her?" One of her friends asked. The female brushed off the stares and stopped once far away from them and others. "Cole, you probably think this is crazy but I know about your powers. I have my own, with nightmares that is, and I really need your help." Aurora's eyes shifted sides often, hoping she wouldn't see more of her nightmares haunting her. She hadn't slept for the past 3 days, afraid of her dreams coming true in the real world. The brunette couldn't stand if others got hurt because of her, she still didn't even fully comprehend what was happening. It just was.
Looking down at the ground, tears filled her eyes. She felt helpless and that just made her even more depressed. The green eyed girl finally looked up at Cole, warm, salty tears trickling down her soft cheeks. Aurora never thought she would cry in front of him, she just wanted to feel safe again and after all that has happened so far, she felt far from safe. "Can you help me?"
"I dont think you're crazy." He told her softly "I think you are getting there but don't worry." he hoped the small joke was alright. He wondered if maybe she didn't know that he already knew of her situation and he was patient as she explained to him her predicament. "I got a letter in the mail the other day," He explained to her. "My father has the same talents as I and sent me a letter in the mail. He sent your picture and said you might need my help. From the look of you I can see you certainly do need it." Cole wasn't sure what else to say and he looked around wondered if there were any other nightmares about.
When he looked back at her she was crying. He had no idea what to do with tears. Crying always made him uncomfortable and he shifted from foot to foot. He could kill her nightmares just fine, but a crying woman was to be his undoing. "I uh..." He lifted a hand to rub the back of his neck and looked away from her. "Ok..." He coughed and then nodded letting her know silently that he would indeed be her helper, words failed him as tears streamed down her cheeks.
"we'll need to go over a few rules and procedures..." he decided that looking away from her would help him regain his speech.
Aurora finally got herself together after about two minutes and wiped away her last tear. She shifted her weight to one hip, embarrassed of what just happened. "Sorry.. I didn't mean to-" Her short words were cut off as something caught her attention. Turning her head, it was just a bunch of men being retarded, frat boys. Aurora rolled her eyes then set her eyes back on Cole.
She scanned him quickly, tall, handsome, and a brunette like herself. "Uhh.. Like I was saying.. Rules? What would they be exactly?" Tilting her head to the side, confusion formed on her pretty face. She wondered why they would even need rules in the first place. He would just be protecting her for the time being and killing her creations. Why the rules? She thought.
(Sorry for the small response. Writers block!!)
He let his last finger drop and gave her a stern look "These are my conditions. Do you accept?" He held out his calloused hand towards her offering to shake on his terms.
Cole had never protected anyone before and he was a bit nervous about this. The terms he had made were in order to give him some piece of mind.
( sorry for the wait as well! I had school)
"I understand and accept your rules. One rule for you though." Aurora paused before speaking again. She hoped this wouldn't offend him, so she tried thinking of another way to compose the sentence she was about to say. "Please, don't ever leave my side. This shit is scary.." She showed him a small smile before slipping her arm through his. "Now, Class is about to start. So how are we going to work this out?" Aurora glanced up at him before brushing her chocolate brown hair off her shoulder. The female bit her cherry stained, bottom lip and slipped into a day dream. She tried planning out the whole day in her head, on how this was going to work. How was she going to convince her grandmother that Cole was actually going to help her?
She bit her lip and he found the motion a tad endearing, though the feeling of her arm in his was a bit strange to him and after he felt an appropriate amount of time had passed he let his arm go free and then coughed awkwardly. "Can I... uh... walk you to class?" He asked her feeling a bit awkward. He gestured to the school and took a step towards the large building.
"Can I... uh... walk you to class?" Cole asked her. Aurora showed a gorgeous smile before nodding and walking with him. Creative Art, her favorite class and her favorite thing in general. She had a talent for taking pictures, she was precise with editing and snap shots as well. Being highest rated in the class, she took pride in her work, hanging her work all over her apartment room. She kept one wall empty for her paintings and the other three for her photography. Every week, she would take a small piece of the white wall and draw something small on it to sum up herself.
Once arriving at her class, she stopped in front of Cole and grinned. "Um.. So I don't want to just leave you out here. You can come inside till your class starts, i'm positive Ms. Phew wouldn't mind at all." Aurora raised her eyebrows, looking inside at the other students sitting down in front of a canvas. She figured they were going to paint something today, finally. They sat down all year in a desk, listening to Ms. Phew's cracking voice teach them about perspective. Though it did pay off in the long run. She knew almost everything about the arts, starting back to the Renaissance.
The halls of the school were filled with pictures and posters of students past work, showing them off for everyone else to see. For a fleeting moment he wished that he could draw, but alas his hands were better suited for tearing nightmares to shreds. He glanced over at the girl next to him and when they arrived at her classroom he nodded agreeing to wait inside until class started. "So, is art your passion then?" he asked as he made his way into the classroom and found two empty seats next to each other. He lowered himself into a seat and stretched his long legs in front of him. "You seem like a painter to me. His hand lifted to scratch his chin, as he did so he found himself being tapped on the shoulder and he looked around to see a girl standing behind the two of them.
She was on the shorter side with dark black hair that fell neatly around her shoulders, she had round glasses and wore the clothes that almost every hipster had. Cole recognized her immediately, her name was Sarah and she was known around the school for being pompous and rude. Sarah spoke her mind and was rarely received well for her radical thoughts on the earth and its history. She was known for her difficulty to react to change and clearly a new face in the classroom was a big change. Sarah regarded Aurora cooling before her brown eyes flitted over to Cole.
"I don't believe I've seen you in here before." It wasn't a question, Sarah was demanding to know why Cole was here.
"Uh..." Deciding that he needed to stand his ground against her Cole stood. He was a tall man, standing at just under 6 feet and he towered over the far smaller Sarah. "I'm just visiting a friend." He gestured to Aurora and the folded his arms as it that solved the matter.
Sarah's nose turned up at the both of them and she let out a little frustrated noise, her attention turned to Aurora and she pointed a finger "If he disturbs my studies I wont forgive you." It was also known that Sarah was petty and would pull just about any mean and nasty prank. She tended to focus on certain students for a time and at the moment it seemed she was inbetween bullying people and was looking for an excuse.
Cole sighed softly and turned away from her, not wanting to deal with her any more. He saw the teacher walk in and quickly opened his book and he wrote down his cell number. "I'll be waiting in the cafeteria for you, if you have any problems just call or send a message. He handed over the sheet and gave her a wink. He then walked past the teacher and out the door and headed to the cafeteria where he got himself an apple and sat down at a free table. He opened his books and went through last weeks notes.
(Alright sorry, was a long one! feel free to take over Sarah and use her in what ever way you want!)
Grabbing the piece of paper Cole had handed to her, she saw him wink at her. Her face turned a bright red, watching him walk out the door. "What was that?? She asked herself, surprised. Letting out a soft sigh, she returned to her painting. Black started to fill the canvas in even lines and a picture peered through the paint. Looking at the painting closely, her eyes grew wide as she saw what she started to paint, without realizing. The man in black. Dropping the paint brush on the ground, she saw the painting move in front of her. A knife appeared in the painting, his feet shuffling towards her as if he was trying to walk out of the canvas. Aurora reached for a small can of paint before clasping it in her gentle hand and dumping it on top of the art, hoping her nightmare would go away. Though the blood red paint dripped just around the man, him showing a evil, sneering smile.
Grabbing her phone out of her pocket, she texted Cole telling him what was happening. Come Now!! Man In black.. Sending the message she grabbed her side bag off the ground and raced out of the room. Her chocolate hair flowing behind her, the students watched as she closed the classroom door behind her. "This isn't happening..." The words repeated them self inside her head, like reciting a line from poetry. Before she knew it, Aurora was sitting on the ground her knees pressed against her chest and her hand buried in them. Her eyes closed, she decided to just wait there till Cole showed up and a good choice that was. Hearing screams come from the room, her eyes filled her eyes. Just like in the dreams.
(OOC: That's fine! (: lol and Sorry for the wait! Internet was off all day yesterday.)
The first screams came from when he was just outside of the classroom, he barged in and saw a hand appear from a painting which he assumed was Aurora's. The students were all scrambling away from the painting as another hand appeared grasping at thin air.
"Get out! Out!" Cole shouted gesturing to the door, he shoved it as far open as he could and moved aside for the rush of people moving past him.
He then took a few tentative steps towards the painting where the makings of a head was appearing. There were white eyes, just staring at him as hands wriggled and grasped for him. Cole sneered at him and lifted his hands and formed them into fists. Normally he would have a weapon on him but none were allowed at school, so Cole would have to fend him off barehanded. There was faint low laughter coming from the painting and finally the man in black was free. He was a tall thin man, who seemed like he might snap in half at any moment. There was the flash of a blade as the man suddenly thrust forward attempting to impale the Cole. Cole slid to the side just in time, his foot hit the side of a chair and he fell backwards on the ground.
Graceful Cole, real graceful.
His ass hit the floor hard but he managed to use his momentum of falling to dodge yet another attack. The man in black was quick as lightning with his blade and Cole had to grab a near by chair to use as a shield. Grunting with the effort it took to stop yet another blow Cole used all his strength the hurl the chair at the man as he reared back to strike again. The wooden chair splintered against the frail body and yet the man still stood. Cole breathed out heavily and grabbed a metal leg from the chair and stood. He held it like a sword and grinned.
"Bring it on." he muttered softly. This time he did not wait for the man to attack but rather struck first hitting the blade hard, there was a loud metal clang as Cole hit him over again and again. His muscles bulged up and he was sweating as he tried his best to find an opening on the man. He was about the strike again when suddenly he felt the white hot pain of the knife cutting through his shoulder. He grunted softly and dropped the chair leg. In a swift moment he grabbed the man's boney wrist, trapping him and the knife from going any deeper.
He could feel warm blood dripping down his arm and his teeth gritted in the effort it took to stop the man. He thought back to the fighting techniques that he father had taught him and then he used his other hand to grab the mans elbow and twist. There was a snap and the mans arm was broken. The white eyes narrowed in anger, and there was a faint hissing noise. Cole struggled with the man until finally the knife was let go. Cole grabbed the hilt and he pulled it out of his shoulder and faced his opponent.
They stared at each other for a long moment and then the man inclined his head a little as if in respect, "next time." he hissed softly. He began to shimmer and fade away. The knife in Cole's hand disappeared as well and he let himself relax. For now the danger was gone.
"wooo." He chuckled softly to himself and then turned around looking for Aurora. "Aurora?" He called out for her. Clearly she wasn't in the classroom, and so he left the room and saw the frightened students staring at him and his injury. "Its taken care of." Cole wasn't sure of what else to say and so he left them with that and went of to find his charge.
He found her a a few minutes later hiding away. He crouched in front of her and said "I took care of the monster for now, he'll be back but not for a while." he told her softly. " He didn't hurt you did he?"

Re: Nightmares Do Come True
Edit: Though I did have a question. Is she in college then? Because she is twenty one, also would I be able to make the male a bit older as the oldest I can make him is 15. If I could make him 20-23 that would be great!
