|Personality|
Quiet but caring is this simple man. He isn't one to convey they way he feels through spoken words, it rather show how he feels through actions. Fletcher tries his best to be polite and kind to everyone, and he doesn't need to open his mouth for that. He's an extremely caring soul, always wanting to help whoever he can. If he can help someone that means he's doing something right. Most assume since he doesn't say much and that he sticks to himself that he's uncaring, but that's not true. Fletcher just knows that it's best to keep your mouth shut from time to time, if not bad things can happen.

A thing that most don't realize about him is that he's very intelligent, for he loves knowledge. He spends a lot of his time reading, getting to know more things; he's a collection of random facts. Also, he likes to watch people. He likes to see how people interact alone and with others to get a better understanding of them. He's seen a lot of crazy things that people have done, so he's learned to watch from a safe distances before interacting with them.

Though he may not seem like it he actually does have a positive few of the world, even though his wife and child were killed. He knows there's evil people, but he also knows there's good ones. He just wants a fresh start of life and he knows he'll find one if he tries hard enough.

|Happiest Memory|
||"I was at the mere age of sixteen when I met the most beautiful girl in the world, Bambi. She was my healthy happy baby girl... my baby girl. She was so happy and bubbly and so bright. She was my baby."||

|Saddest Memory|
||'I came home one night... my child and wife had been murder... You see, where I'm from people are slightly racist, against different races marrying. Some crazy bastard killed her in my child, I found them... I found them..."||

||"My past? What a funny thing to want to know... It's kind of simple really, there was nothing all that special. My family was pretty poor for the most part, we never really had much, some nights growing up we didn't even have enough food for us to all eat. It was so horrible.

In the fifth grade I met a boy, Franco Franks, funny name I know, that came from a wealthy family. I started going over to his home alot, and soon I felt like I was apart of his family. As the years went on him and I secretly became a couple in our highschool years, we knew we could never come out, but we did it any ways.

One night my senior year Franco through a party at his house when his parents were out of town. I was so stupid that night, I ended up sleeping with his sister... I got her pregnant and at the age of eighteen got married to her. To say the least Franco hated me from that point on, and God did my family hate me for marrying a black girl.

Onna and I did grow close, we became best friends, mainly because we were outcasted after we were married. I never loved her, but she fell in love with me, slightly saddening due to the fact I was in love with her brother. We were happy though, her and Bambi and I. Our joy ended when I was about twenty-three, her and my daughter were murdered... in cold blood.

The sun rises over New York signaling the dawn of a new day. As the city wakes up you hear the indisputable sounds of New York. A patron flags down a taxi driver so she can get to work on time. A siren rushes past your window as a police officer drives by risking his life to protect the peace. People talk on their cell phones as the rush by. It's always go, go, go for the city that never sleeps.

It's two o'clock now so most people are getting off of workand going back to their mundane picture perfect lives. However, the residents of Chelsea, a Manhattan based community if artists and dreamers alike, are beginning their days. Well their real days at least. Yeah some worked day jobs in the morning but the real Chelsea life was at night. Even though they lived in Manhattan they didn't live a rich lifestyle. So most of their jobs were what you'd expect them to be: mail couriers, waiters and waitresses, baristas, cooks, etc. Some had night jobs like DJ's and dancers but they were a minority as well.

The Residents of 449 West 22nd street were especially excited today because it was New Years. This meant that they would have their annual New Years party. A potluck they did every year where they all got drunk, ate great food, and talked about all the shit they went through that year. It was a time for reflection that they cherished. The whole gang got to get dressed up all pretty and bitch for a whole night and with their view of the ball dropping they can watch a new year begin. A year they'll swear is going to be different. The party usually ends with a mainly drunk group of them sagging off to their rooms and reconvening the next day for waffles at the diner that Nell Martin worked at.

ImageSitting behind a desk, content but remotely bored, he tapped his fingers on the smooth polished wood. Ever so often he looked up at the clock, he knew he had somewhere else that he needed to be. Work was nice and all, he loved to read so the library was like a safe haven for him. Books were always just a thing he could easily get lost in. Books were nice, but so was being with his friends. Unfortunately he had about thirty more minutes before he could get off. Fletcher had tried to convince his boss to let him off early, but the answer had been a no for whatever reason. At this time there was anyone here: a janitor, a lady reading, a young boy on a computer, and Fletcher. That was all.

A hand rested on his shoulder causing him to jump. "Relax, Fletcher," the voice said with a laugh, "I'm just here to let you know you can leave now. I'll watch over everything." Staring at his boss it didn't take long for the glare to merge into a smirk. "Are you sure I can leave early?" His boss laughed and patted him on the back, "It's New Years, go have fun." Without saying anything Fletcher nodded his head and rose to his feet. I have to hurry and get ready, entirely he groaned as he made a quick jog from the building and out into the streets.

It wasn't too cold outside nor was it warm. Instead of focusing on the temperature he kept his mind on getting back to his apartment. Maneuvering past people on the street caused him to get pushed and bumped into, even a few people screaming back at him as he moved by. "Touch me again see what happens you-" "Sorry!" Apologizing back loudly before a stranger could finish what they were saying to him. Who thought it would be so congested at this time.

***

Before he knew it he was back in apartment 3B. "What should I wear tonight..." Softly speaking to himself he rushed over to his closet and began looking through his options. He wasn't sure what to wear, at this moment he only had on a thin jacket and blue jeans, he could wear that to the party, but he wanted to try a little harder than that.

As he moved around shirts back and forth, hangers clinging, he finally came to a decision. Quickly unzipping his jacket he threw it to the floor, followed by him pulling out a light button-down from his shirt. Putting his arms through the sleeves and then fumbling with the buttons for a couple of seconds it didn't take him long to get it on. Fletcher knew he wasn't dressed up, in fact he was still pretty casual, but he also knew it was better than wearing a jacket.

Once that was all done he rushed into the kitchen, slung the refrigerator door open, and pulled out the poorly made meat load that was prepared for the potluck. Despite the appearance the flavor of the thing was fantastic. Time to go.

***

It didn't take long for Fletcher to reach the party, not seeing anyone downstairs he wondered up to the roof. "Sorry for being late." He stated to the others while he put his food down.

Keira had the day off as requested by herself. She didn't want to work today especially since it was New Years and her friends, along with other people were planning on meeting up on the roof to watch the ball drop. It was an unusual way to watch it but she didn't care as long as she was around people that she liked and loved. She had spent most of the day shopping around the market, getting items ready to make her sandwiches for the event tonight.

After entering back into her apartment, she had sat the groceries down and exhaled, while resting her hands upon her hips. "Well, let's get cracking." She had while prepping the sandwiches up. She had even cut them down to be the size of finger sandwiches. She had added a bit of ham, turkey along with bacon, lettuce and tomato with a single spread of mayonnaise on them, too. She had bit into one of them to taste test them and she closed her eyes then let out a soft 'mmm' of sensation.

Keira had wrapped the sandwiches up after putting them on a tray then sat them down in the fridge while getting ready to meet everyone. She had went ahead and showered, lathing her body with her new scent Apple Cinnamon as she eventually stepped out of the shower. After emerging herself from the shower, she dried herself off, brushed her teeth and combed her raven colored locks of hair. She knew that people maybe surprised that she didn't have her braids in for tonight but she decided to try something new. Keria had emerged from a lightly steamed bathroom and got dressed.

She had adorned her body with a dress that was blue in color, strapless on one side while the other side had a full sleeve. She had placed upon her feet open toed heels, which were also blue in color as she stood up, walking around to make sure she could actually walk in them. Keira went back inside of her bathroom and applied a light coat of makeup to her face and a dab here and there of lip gloss to her lips. After that was done, she grabbed her coat and place it on herself, buttoning it up and tying the strap. Keira walked into the kitchen and opened the fridge, grabbing her tray of sandwiches. "Let's get this party started." She muttered to herself while walking out of her apartment, making sure it was locked before going up to the roof, where everyone else was already at.

"Hello, guys!" She slightly screamed while waving her hand from side to side as she walked over towards the group with a smile, sitting her sandwiches down then giving every single person a hug. "So, what are you guys talking about? Anything interesting?" She had asked while stuffing her hands into the inside of her coat pockets, looking at everyone.

By ten Nell and the residents who had showed up already, which was pretty much her, Zach, Amaris, Kayden, and Fletcher. They had extended an invitation to some of the residents near by and they were encouraged to invite anyone they were friends with or worked with if they wanted. Nell set up all the food that people had brought on the tables that leaned up against the brick walls. She placed Amaris's oxtails, rice and peas, and meatballs first on the the first table. Next to it was Zach's samosas, which she kept sneaking bites of, beside that was Fletcher's meat loaf. The second table had her desserts and third table had Kayden's drinks.

She was flitting around the roof setting up while her friends began lounging around on the mismatched chairs that sat on the roof. The roof was the product of tenants present and past. A long grey sofa lined the west wall. Wooden tables sat against one table. A long string of lights was strung up that gave it a warm hazy glow. Blankets and pillows scattered all over the sofa. Tarps were folded next to the sofa. A very large tapestry lay on the ground as a makeshift rug. A fire pit sat in front of the couch. A small green house was in the very south of the building. Though more often than not it was used to store the pillows and blankets in such. At one point it was used to plant weed though nobody ever copped up to who was the one that grew it. At the time only three of the tenants that live there now were residents.

By eleven guests they had invited had shown up as well. The guest ended up bringing spicy wings, one of them brought various juices, potstickers, churros, a jello cake, baklava, shish kabobs, and two of them brought pasta In all including the eight residents who lived in the building seventeen people showed up. Nell pulled out her camera and started taking pictures of her friends lounging on the sofa's. Most of the pictures were candids but a few of them came turned and posed for her. She was taking a photo of Amaris when she heard Keira yell out, "hey, guys She turned to her friend and smiled. "So, what are you guys talking about? Anything interesting?"

Nell turned around to her and smiled, "Not much we just got here. " She motioned to the food on the tables, "Food's done though and Kay brought a ton of alcohol so help yourself. I also bought some festive plates, cups, and cutlery. It should be on the second table. " She added while walking to the table and making herself a drink. It was a simple mix of vodka and lemonade. Nell never really drank straight alcohol. It was always a mix of some sort. By eleven she was passing quickly into drunk territory. Unfortunately Nell was always first to get smashed. She always pre-drank, usually took a pill, and Zach usually indulged her if she asked for some weed.

As a thought burst into her head she jumped a little, spilling a bit of her drink on herself, and pointed at her friends, " Somebody do shots with me." She set her drink on a small table on the corner next to the sofa and headed to the drinks table where she lined up five shot glasses. She poured a generous amount of tequila in them and winked at her friends before handing each of them one, except for Zach of course. With a bright toothy smile she said confidently, "Shots " And downed hers easily.

Amaris grinned the second the door was flung open and not because she was able to see Nell's smiling face, but when she heard Kayden's voice from behind her. Steps in general, when they emerged from her back, always made Amaris tense, but upon hearing the male's voice, she couldn't the expression that formed on her face as she tossed a flirtatiously lifted eyebrow his way and purred, "Awww, poor baby! How could I not notice you?" It probably didn't help to stroke Kayden's ego, but flirting was too much in Amaris' nature for her to feel bad for it. Besides, if he got too arrogant, she'd come up with something later. Before the conversation could continue, however, Nell was turning her around to head to the roof and soon enough, the party was starting.

Some time, after guests started showing up, Amaris had coerced one of their neighbors into helping her bring the oxtail stew, the rest of the honey-chipotle meatballs, and rice and peas from her apartment, along with the alcohol she had bought. Because, despite the fact that everyone brought at least some kind of alcoholic beverage, no one could ever have enough alcohol. And of course, she had to pose when Nell pulled out that camera of hers. Amaris never failed to pose, even when Nell was taking pictures of people eating. She was just in the middle of laughing at a face one of their neighbors made in one of their poses when she heard Keira behind Nell. While Nell greeted the other brunette, Amaris caught sight of Fletcher and waved at him, "Hey, Fletch! Come drink with us!"

Though, it appeared, Nell had somehow beat her to the chase, as the brunette beauty bounced on her toes after spilling a bit of her drink and demanding that someone do shots with her. Chuckling, Amaris launched out of her seat, wrapped an arm around Keira to pull her longtime friend along, and bound over to the girl just as a shot was placed in her hand. "What did I tell you 'bout these baby shots, Nelly?" She demanded playfully before tossing back the shot easily. Her throat was too accustomed to the clear liquid for the burn barely even existed. She glanced at Keira with a grin. "This is why I'm the bartender here and that one," she nodded over to Nelly teasingly, "is the lightweight."

ImageRosaline's room looked like a tornado of paisley, flowers, and bright colors and smelled like sandalwood as she tried to decide what to wear. Her bright red hair was blown repeatedly from her face as she looked at the chaos and destruction. Her apartment was as old and colorful as you could get in this day. As soon as she saw it she had to have it. It was a little more color and pattern than most people's tastes but she'd always liked things like that. There was simply no decision to be made though on the clothing front so she dramatically threw her hand over her eyes and bent to reach whatever piece of clothing called to her. She pulled up a heavier garment, Wool? Fantastic! It should be freezing. She opened her eyes to reveal a very colorful and flowery dress that's probably been at the bottom of her closet since she moved. Quickly, she threw on some thick black thermal leggings and a high collar white button down before slipping on the dress as well as some bright orange mary-janes. Her style didn't always make sense to everyone, but the more colorful she could be the better. Color always made her happy.
She brushed her hands over the front of the dress and smiled. She didn't wear perfume often, opting to use her beauty oils as they gave of a fresh woodsy scent. However, the smile she sported moments before was hastily replaced with a gasp as she finally looked up at the clock and realized just how late she was. She hated tardiness, but she was so damn scatterbrained it was any wonder she even made it to things on her own. A distressed mantra fell from her lips as she scurried to round up the food,
"nononononononononononononononononononononononono"
And believe that there was plenty to gather. First she pulled out the two fruit tarts from the refrigerator and had those in separate boxes in no time flat. Then she opened the oven and grabbed some pot holders to remove the turkey she had simmering. Turkey is a staple holiday meal after all. Then waiting in the microwave were her, "stillfamousbutnevergoodenough" Chocolate Chip cookies she baked just that morning. Turkey took a long time to prepare after all and she liked to cook. No one would expect any less. She checked her Mickey Mouse watch and began to load up her arms. Placing the cookie tray on top of the large container holding the steamy turkey, Rosaline grabbed a tart box in each hand and grunted at the obvious heavy wait. Thanking the skies above that she at least had enough foresight to open the door before she loaded herself down, she stepped across the threshold and kicked the door shut with her foot, the door locking automatically. She stopped though and squinted her eyes before she cave her hips a shake. She nodded triumphantly as she heard her keys jingle against her phone in the pocket of the dress and looked at the stairs challengingly.
"It's just you and me my old foe"
With one last giant breath, she began at a quickened pace up the stairs to the roof. Luckily it wasn't a very large building but ,naturally, it lacked an elevator. By the time she got near the top she was heaving breaths and trying her damnedest not to fall back down the stair to her doom. She quickly pushed the door open with her foot and, with a new burst of energy, swiftly power walked to where she could see food clearly piled and organized,
"Heavy Heavy Heavy HEAVY." And as she reached the table she set the turkey down at an angle on the side and slid it further onto the table so she wouldn't hurt the tarts that she perched next to it. She wiped off the imaginary sweat that had accumulated on her forehead and gave a beaming smile to everyone.
"WHEW!", she placed a hand on her hip crooked her thumb at the turkey, "That is one Big Bird." She chuckled lowly at her bad joke and began unwrapping the food to display.
