On the left side of her pelvis, right next to her hipbone, is a tribal panther tattoo. If she wears loose pants and lets them hang low, the upper half of the panther is visible.
Danny has hundreds of scars on her body from both trying to resist authority and inflicting the wounds upon herself. They are mostly located on her back, shoulders, wrists, and palms.
Abilities
Danny is not 100% human. Her genes are shared with a Black Panther’s, giving her abilities humans wish they could have. One of the more noticeable things about her is the fact that Danny has an extra set of black, furry, round-tipped ears sitting atop of her head and a thick, long, velvety black dull-tipped tail. Her senses are heightened so sharply that her strongest sense is actually her hearing. If she were to close her eyes, she could describe her surroundings easily using her sense of smell and echolocation. On each of her fingers and toes are retractable claws that are stronger than diamonds. Her canines can elongate and shrink at will. If she has enough power behind her swing, she can cut through almost anything. Danny’s body has a much higher physical capability than regular humans. She can run at almost 35 mph and is stronger than five fully grown men. She has an added sense of balance and always lands on her feet, not to mention she can land large drops without injury. She is more flexible than any acrobat dreams they could be. Danny can also talk to cats and see perfectly in the dark.
Because of the circumstances in which Danny got her powers, there were many side effects. Danny now has a very special form of Dissociative Identity Disorder. Inside of her mind is a the voice of the feline, animalistic instincts she has to resist every day. Danny has named her Onyx. Sometimes, very rarely, Onyx will mentally overpower Danny and take control of her body. When this happens, Danny’s eyes turn a bright gold color, opposed to their usual deep hazel. When Onyx is in control, the small sliver of mercy Danny has vanishes. Onyx will destroy everything in her path, and Danny will not regain control until she is either sedated or passes out from exhaustion.

~Her Powers~
Danny’s extra physical attributes also provide her with weaknesses. Strong scents and extremely loud or high-pitched sounds can weaken or completely incapacitate her. If her tail is broken or dislocated, not only does it cause extreme pain, but she completely loses her sense of balance and cannot even walk.
~Onyx~
Danny has to deal with Onyx 24/7, which can be rather tiring. When Onyx takes control, she puts Danny into more dangerous situations than she would like.

{ | Temperamental | Intelligent | Secretive | Intimidating | Broken | Playful | }
Danny is extremely temperamental. Her mood can snap faster than a cheap rubber band. This also happens to leave her with a very short fuse, so bugging her isn’t the best of ideas. She also always has that look to her. You know the one. The shifty eyes. The biting of her lip. She almost always looks like she has something she’s trying to hide, which is almost always true. If she really wanted or had to, she would be able to hide it, but if not, its very easy for her to appear secretive. Danny, when not wracked with guilt and depression, can be very intimidating. She’s rather tall for her age, and her stance is dominating, with squared shoulders, glaring eyes, and a tense jaw. Like all cats, she’s cunning and intelligent, with a tongue as sharp as her claws.
Ever since she was taken to this place, Danny has been broken. This mostly has to do with the incident that lead her to being captured. She’s been even moodier. She used to spend her nights crying herself to sleep, self-harming, and attempting suicide. She hates herself for the monster she believes she is, though Onyx is generally the one to blame. Deep down, Danny is actually a very kind, heroic, merciful person. She used to be very playful and energetic, but living a nightmare can do so much to the spirit.
Onyx, on the other hand, is rather different than Danny. Onyx is very proper and old-fashioned to humans. She is utterly merciless, and will try to destroy anything in her way.
View on the Program
“The government has made some stupid ass decisions, and I would say this is one of them if I didn’t have a life sentence hung over my head. I think that some people deserve to be locked up forever. I may or may not be one of them, but I think that some people shouldn’t be freed, don’t deserve to be freed. I’m afraid this program may be giving privileges to people who don’t deserve it.”
Crimes
Danny is charged with 42 accounts of murder and 12 accounts of manslaughter that they know of. And the numbers don’t appear to slowing down. She was also charged with resisting arrest, though that is a bit more minor to the other things she’s done.
Many people wonder why Danny is the way she is today, but if you were to ask her directly, she would either start sobbing grossly or have a mental breakdown.
You see, Danny is one of those… “heroes” with sad beginnings. Those of which so sad, that she spends all day trying to forget only realize that it’s all she thinks about.
It was my fault.
Daniella Samantha Mixon was born to two well off people, her mother being a beautiful Brazilian woman and her father a rather rich American businessman. However, Danny’s birth was not well at all… she was born almost a month early. She barely weighed three pounds. The doctors told her parents that their baby probably wasn’t going to last very long…
After trying unsuccessfully before, her parents were desperate to make this baby work. They tried contacting dozens of specialists, they all told them that the baby was doomed to die before it even got to live. Well, all except one. Of course, this had to be the shadiest of them all. They informed the two parents that they were working on an experiment of sorts… that, if successful, would not only save their weak little daughter, but insure that she will be strong for all of her life. The parents were skeptical and asked if the experiment would leave her with defects. The doctor’s exact words were “They will not be defects, but blessings.”
A few days later, the two parents brought their sick little child to the disclosed location of the doctor’s lab. The doctor made them sign many legal contracts, so many so that they grew even more skeptical. After all the paperwork was done, the doctor took their child from their arms and went into a separate room, locking the door behind him.
The waiting seemed endless, although it lasted only a few hours. They two had to suffer through listening to the roar of machines and the crying of their baby girl, who sounded like she was in pure agony. The doctor stepped out of the room, covered in sweat and, seemingly, grime. Daniella was curled up in his arms, quietly asleep. The parents were utterly amazed. She had appeared to put on pounds instantly and was glowing with health. Mrs.Mixon reaches for her baby girl, only for the doctor to take a step away. “Now… About those blessings…” Her mother’s loud gasp echoed throughout the empty room as she saw the small, furry black ears on her daughter’s head.
My fault.
They tried. They really did. Danny’s parents wanted to make it work, but they couldn’t. They were too naive. Too stubborn. They didn’t even attempt to understand. When Danny told them that the voice in her head was making her do all these bad things, they wouldn’t believe her. Danny can’t remember when it was, but at some point, her parents just stopped caring. They were simply there to provide her with food, clothes, education, and a place to live. Danny had everything she wanted. Well, anything material. The love of her family was not something she could buy with her parent’s money. That’s when the insults started.
It was as if something snapped. They couldn’t keep up the charade for much longer. Her father started an argument out of nowhere, and it go out of hand. Danny was 17 at the time. He told her that if she didn’t get her emotions under control, he would have her ears, tails, claws and fangs removed. Danny was utterly terrified. He spoke of her like she was some out of control house cat.
The two stopped talking after that. Her mother, who was the more understanding of the two, was their only means of communication. But Danny could tell she was crumbling. After a tense high school graduation ceremony, Danny immediately moved from her parents’ house to attend college and pursue a field in film editing, voice acting, and screenwriting. It was at this college Danny met Rosalie.
Rosalie was a short, blonde, fiery girl that was in Danny’s Film Editing class. A chance encounter involving hot, spilled coffee and a light pink blouse led the two girls to becoming close friends, and not much longer after that, lovers.
I couldn’t control it.
Rose was all that Danny had to live for. The two were extremely close. They had been dating for about two years, when something happened. Danny had gone out, had a bit too much to drink, and Onyx took control in her mentally weak state. There had been accidents before, but nothing as big as this. Danny woke up in an alleyway, covered in blood. She could tell it wasn't hers. She ran to her apartment where she and Rose had been staying. Rose was utterly shocked as Danny told them they had to leave. Now.
Not strong enough.
Rose would not have left for anyone else. She had the strength not to look past Danny’s powers, but embrace them and even consider some of her feline aspects very attractive. She loved how Danny had such a gentle yet powerful aura about her, with sarcastic remarks and the cutest laugh to boot. The two packed their bags and moved to another state on the other side of the country. Danny changed her last name to Lynx, and shortened her middle name to Sam.
For a few months, it seemed as if things would go well. Things would work themselves out, and they would keep their heads low for a few years. Perfect, right? Wrong. Onyx, who had enjoyed her small taste of control after many years, wanted more. She pressured Danny constantly, trying to take control. One day, Danny was just so tired from working and so mentally drained by Onyx that she slipped up again. Onyx quickly took control once more, leading Danny down an even darker path. She came back the next day, and told Rose in a panic that they would have to move again.
Rose was furious. They had just settled in. Danny, who was under so much stress and fear, began to argue back. Before she knew it, her emotions got the best of her again and Onyx would take every chance she could get.
It’s my fault!
Danny woke up some time later. The first thing that consumed her senses was the smell of blood.
No...
She knew that smell. Where was Rosalie?
This couldn’t be… I didn’t...
Danny didn’t want to believe it. As she looked at the bright red blood spattered on the walls, a bile rose in her throat, along with tears welling in her eyes.
No! NO!
There wasn’t even a body. Onyx-, No, Danny, had quite literally ripped the love of her life apart. She was so mad at herself. How could she have done this? She retched up the contents of her stomach she was crying so hard. Onyx was merciless. Danny begged for a break, no more torture, but Onyx didn’t care. She enjoyed the freedom of being able to be her own being, but much stronger than any full feline or full human.
Onyx went on yet another rampage, but this time, got too careless. The police got word of the nature of the killings less than a day ago, and knew exactly who it was. They cornered her and tranquilized her, taking her to a “secure place”.
I am weak...
It didn’t take very long for Danny to make a name for herself. She would cry and yowl in agony at night, like that of a baby tiger stolen from its mother. She was moved from one cell to another constantly. One night, she was dragged, screaming and kicking, from her third cell. She had been scratching at the wall concrete wall, so much so that the tips of her fingers began to bleed heavily. They had assumed that she was trying to escape, but once they looked upon the scratches on the wall, they appeared to create some sort of flower.
Another night she had to be restrained to a bed because she was cutting her arms open. She was sobbing about how the pain distracted her from the throbbing of her heart.
After a few months, her suicidal actions appeared to die down, but so did Danny. She was broken. She would sit in the corner of her cell, facing the wall. She wouldn’t eat, drink, or sleep. She wouldn’t go to any counseling they provided. They grew desperate. One day, a guard who had thought that “her pretty face shouldn’t go to waste” simply asked what she wanted. She responded with one word: Music.
The guard pulled a few strings, spoke with her psychologist and the warden of the prison, and she was given an iPod and a pair of headphones. They told her that every time she was good, they would reward her by letting her buy a new song. It was like a treat. A treat that a dog was given after it had sat on command.
A few more months, and Danny was doing much better. They monitored the songs she bought and how often they were played only in an attempt to understand her mysterious nature. There were a few songs she played repeatedly every day. She would stand up and dance with an invisible partner, one that seemed shorter than her. She also appeared to dance the masculine part opposed to the feminine part.
They taught her new skills, and whenever she cooperated, she was rewarded with a new song. She learned how to fight, to hone her strengthened senses, to shoot a gun, to seduce a man or a woman, etc. Once she heard of Project Redemption, she immediately requested to be put into it. She was looking for redemption, but the only way that would happen would be if she were free from this hell hole of a prison.
Anything else?
Danny’s fears are not simple dislikes. They are pure phobias. Thunderstorms make her want to curl up in a small dark space and cry. The thought of going to the doctor to get patched up makes her shake with fear, and she will literally do anything to get away from said doctor.
