120lbs

☞Eye Color☜
Brown

☞Hair☜
Her hair is waist length and jet black. She often dyes it various different colors. Its very healthy and wavy, as she rarely ever straightens it.

☞Body Type☜
Cataleia has the body of a dancer - Her legs are long and she has a petite figure. She's rather small busted, though she has nicely defined hips. She is very slender and has a well-toned body with visible muscle definition.

☞Special Markings☜
The whole of her back is covered with a Celtic cross being embraced by a rose and its thorny vines. On her right foot is a blue rosary that shows the beads wrapping about her ankle while the cross itself rests atop her foot. Her left forearm reads Para todos a quem eu amo, vou sacrificar tudo. Translation: For all those I love, I sacrifice all. On her right cheek, tattooed is the kanji symbol for strength and beauty. She sports a rather dashing bullet wound scar on the left side of her abdomen. She’s usually got some kind of pretty ornament dangling from her navel – Yes her navel is pierced, as is her tongue and her ears from tip to bottom.

☞Extras☜
She has several cuts on her torso and "mutant" carved across her chest which is now nothing more than a scar that she never covers with makeup.

☞Likes☜
ImagePerforming Arts!
Cataleia is indeed a true patron of the arts and enjoys all forms of art. She took over the Performing Arts Club after Kurt Wagner and has done her best to bring it justice, planning to hold monthly art displays, concerts, talent shows, and dance recitals.

ImageFood.
All kinds of food. Cataleia often eats her meals as though she will never see food again. She's also been known to hoard sweets in her room and office. She enjoys a fine meal, by her hand or any other as long as it ends in her stomach.

Image"I work out!"
Cataleia loves working out and can often be found in the recreational hall. Working out doesn't necessarily mean pumping the iron and doing push-ups. She has to make time for her other athletics. Her regime consists of dance, parkour, martial arts, and meditation. She spends at least four hours a day working out.

ImageSinging and composing.
Cataleia enjoys singing, of course. Many times, its just to hear her own self singing. Her ears are beyond sensitive, so she likes to have something that's easy on the ears. "What better than my own heavenly voice?!"

ImageRomance.
Cataleia is heavily a romantic and often daydreams about that one person that will come one day and sweep her off her feet. The sad part? She's never had time for a romance to last. But now, she's mastered all that she needs and its time to take life slow. Maybe she'll find someone to settle down with.

ImageFriends and family, of course!
And that's not just because of her ethnicity. Cataleia grew up on the Xavier estate and saw everyone there as family by one way or another. She was very close to them and developed tight bonds that makes her willing to lay her life on the line for them.

ImageTeaching.
Cataleia loves to teach others anything and everything she knows. Knowledge is a precious gift and she believes that everyone is entitled to it. Her favorite things to teach are Martial Arts and PAA classes. Knowing that someone will walk away from her class knowing a little better how to defend themselves warms her heart.

☞Dislikes☜
ImagePeople who think they have any artistic talent - But really don't.
She hates to see atrocious paintings or drawings and hear people call it art. She hates to hear people banging on pianos or plucking away at random guitar strings and calling it music. She absolutely abhors hearing people sing in cracked voices and uneven pitches and then dare to say they should be on stage.

ImageHobos.
Not homeless people. Hobos. She has seen way too many films in which unsuspecting passersby get shanked and robbed, left there to die by a dirty-looking man with wild eyes and insane body hair.

ImageDeception.
She hates snakes who would dare to double-cross her or lie to her. Okay, yeah. She's lied and double-crossed people, but it was and is part of her job description. She has never double-crossed people who didn't deserve it. Yeah, it might seem self-righteous and arrogant. Maybe a bit hypocritical. But that's how it is.

ImageSlobs!
She can't stand people who don't take care of their body or some sort of pride in their appearance. Like her friend, Zalika, she is a health nut and tries her best to make sure her students are healthy.

ImageSpeciesism
She cannot stand people being judged for what they are rather than who they are. She has seen many good people have their entire lives ruined because of simple suspicion and accusations of being mutant. The fact that a person's good deeds would be dismissed because they are different sickens her.

ImageSexism
She has been doubted many times and talked down to because she is female. She is so not down with that "1950's bullshit". She's the type of woman to punch a man in his dick for any obviously sexist comments. She does not believe that one sex is stronger or better than the other. Its all about the individual.

☞Habits☜
Kitty has several habits, though the most noticeable one is her obsessive grooming. Whenever she has a spare moment, she's brushing her hair or checking on her manicure. She often stops in front of anything that provides a reflection to ensure that she looks picture perfect, as though paparazzi will pop out at any given moment. Another habit of hers is her constant production of melodies. I don't mean that music that comes from her. She's always humming or outright singing while conducting menial chores such as paperwork, cleaning, cooking, or reading. Whenever she's working out, she produces an array of rock and heavy metal music all around her. She also seems to always have her headphones in with her iPod at her side. Even though music is rarely ever on, she simply enjoys the feel of having her headphones in.

☞Fears☜
ImageDeath.
Its not just dying that's afraid of, its dying in vain. She has promised herself that she will not sucumb to death until things are made right in the world and mutants become equals with humans.

ImageLosing the war.
She is not stupid nor naive; she realizes that it is now a full out human against mutant war and despite the teachings of Professor X, she will have to lead the mutants into battle eventually and fight their way to some sort of victory. She's afraid that the remaining mutants will become like those of the Brotherhood and seek superiority over humans.

ImageLosing team members.
People die. All the time. And there's nothing that she can do to stop it. But she doesn't want to see her loved ones die in this war. She would gladly take a bullet for any one of them if it would save them despite her own fear of dying without seeing the war through to the end.

☞Aspirations☜
ImageWinning.
She fights for the equality of humans and mutants and will not rest until her goal is reached.

ImageFinding love.
She's a hopeless romantic five years from hitting thirty and she hasn't had a relationship lasting longer than a month and can count on one hand exactly how many relationships that she's had. She thinks its sad and wants to settle down and have kids before her window of opportunity closes, but realizes that bringing newborns into the current state of the world is a bad idea.

☞Secrets☜
ImageArachnophobia.
She is terrified of spiders. When she was little, she had a room mate at Xavier's who was part spider. Not like Spiderman. But she was like a centaur. But a spider. Like the chick from The Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy. Anyways, she woke up one night to being wrapped in silk and laying on a web as her room mate tried to eat her. Spiders? No-go.

ImageCandy addiction.
She has candy hidden everywhere in her room, in her vehicles, in her office. Everywhere. She is a health nut and a hygiene freak, but she has to have candy. Its her subconscious way of holding onto the childhood she never really had.

ImageSlowed aging.
Nobody is aware that during her conception, she was affected by the infinity serum that her father used. Because of this and interference from her X-Gene, she completely stopped aging at the age of twenty. But, that does not mean that she can self-heal or is impervious to illnesses.

☞Disabilities☜
Cataleia has a serious repression issue when it comes to her less than happy emotions. She bottles her regret, sorrow, and fears and keeps them bottled for long amounts of time. This often results in nightmares and a loss of sleep that she’ll catch up on during the day. When her emotional walls come down, she often suffers from dysphoric mania. Something that a few people have noticed, but no-one says anything about is the fact that she often hallucinates, seeing and speaking to her deceased loved ones - Generally when she’s alone. She knows they’re dead, but she wants to believe that they aren’t.

☞Personality☜
l Cunning l Realistic l Fast-Thinking l Loyal l Kind l Vindictive l Sly l Distrustful l Proud l Seductive l

Cataleia has a personality of many facets. Overall, she's a generally calm woman and is able to keep er emotions in check to the point that she seems rather placid and happy at all times. She is a quick thinker and a natural leader, seeming to know exactly how to approach most situations after taking only a few moments to assess what's going on. Though usually in a leading position, she's not one for an ego and generally does not take well to overbearing egos. She's quick to put someone in their place if she feels that they are getting out of line and generally holds no guilty conscious about expressing her feelings. She's very protective over innocents, though she's even moe protective over her friends and family members, fighting tooth and nail to protect them. She has a weak spot for children, seeming unable to deny them anything; within reason, of course.

When first approached, she's very outgoing and thoughtful. She is that person that asks everyone how their day has been and how they're feeling. She has always had a very busy schedule, but she does her best to make time for her friends, though her schedule often includes them anyways. She absolutely loves compliments. What? She's a woman. She's a sucker for a cute guys and girls, though she nver has had the time for a relationship. She would absolutely love one and is trying to settle down and find a likely candidate. She loves to help out anyone in need and rarely ever says no - Whether its doing chores, running an errand, or helping with something personl. Many have tried to take advantage of her kindness and have failed. She is not the person that you want to try and walk over.

When you gain her trust, you should do all that is imaginably possible to make sure you don't lose that trust. She won't lose faith in someone based on he-say-she-say, rather what she observes herself. When you lie to her, cheat on, her double cross her, you should find a nuclear bunker and hide. Why? Because she is vindictive by nature and based on the severity, she will get payback and it most certainly will not be pretty. She has been known to literally crack skulls of people who've double crossed her. Of course, as far as far as she's concerned, they deserved it. Though she rarely shows her anger, when she does, it comes out in a variety of ways. Since she pents so much of it up, she's prone to angry tears. Subject depending, of course. She usually tries to dance away the pain, cliche as it sounds. Her father thinks that is better for her to be cliche than to hit people. But when she gets angry to that point, there's no holding her back. She's going to hurt someone.

She does seem like a friendly little open book, doesn't she? But all that glitters isn't gold. While quite happy on the outside, she's conflicted on the inside, though she does her best to not let it get in the way of the more important thoughts. She will often introduce people that don't seem to be there and the quickly excuse herself when she makes the mistake. There's a darker side of her that really just wants to gather an army of mutants and wipe out anybody and everybody against them, having witnessed enough mutant abuse to push her to the edge. She's done well in reigning in that darker side so far, though how much longer she can hold up that dam is unknown. She leans heavily on her close friends to help keep her sane, confiding in them when she really needs it.

She's a very proud woman - She's proud of her achievements in life, proud of who she is, and proud of what she is. She's never tried to hide being a mutant unless she was on a mission that called for it. She hates the word mutant and prefers others like meta human, super human, or homo superior. She refuses to let anyone make her feel inferior in any way, always having a rebuttle at the ready for those prepared to tell her what an abomination she is. She's full of hope that the war will come to an end soon, having a few tricks up her sleeves. As far as she concerned, losing is an impossibility.

☞Mutation☜
Acoustolumikinesis

☞Mutation Capabilities☜
" Acoustolumikinesis is defined as the ability to create, control, and manipulate sound waves and light photons. And not just photons of visible light. Though, I am bonded to light and sound on a cellular level, making me a slight more proficient and stronger with my abilities than others with mutations of a similar nature. Through rigorous training with Professors Xavier, Munroe, and Summers as well as intense studying in the various fields of Photology and Psychoacoustics, I learned exactly how to use my mutation in every way possible. One of my easier feats, I am what one would call being Omnitone. My vocal chords can produce any sound, no matter the pitch, source, frequency, or volume. One of my greatest applications of my power is solidifying light photons to create constructs - Whether weapon, shield, or otherwise, as well as morphing the light photons into a form of lazer by energizing them, serving as blasts, lazers, etcetera. I am completely unaffected by any sort of light or sound, even being able to nullify them to protect others. I have recently perfected hologram creation through light manipulation, though it takes a lot of concentration because of all the moving and different colors to create and maintain. My more basic applications of my power include inducing seizures, confusion, vertigo, nausea, deafness, blindness, dazes, and unconsciousness - Done by exposing my opponent(s) to varying lights and sounds. That's just simple science. Being able to hear the vibrations produced by things around my, I can use my sound wave manipulation to produce sounds that match the vibration of objects, which can cause them to explode/shatter; like glass. My body is constantly absorbing more light photons and sound waves from around me, constantly bonding to me. As a result, I give off a glow at all times from my luminescent blood, though its more visible at night and there’s always a faint hint of music emanating from me, more audible when I am unconscious. My greatest achievement yet is tapping into the light photons bonded to my body and becoming one with the light. For lack of better phrasing, I suppose it could be explained like so: As mentioned, I have a molecular bond with sound waves and light photons, so in essence, one might say I am sound. Or I am light. Or both. But I'm not really. Anyways. This bond allows me to focus and get a feel of the light and begin to shift my cellular structure, becoming light and attaining its attributes, including its speed. But, I cannot travel at light speed while in my solid, Sapien form. It is exhausting to move so fast, though. So I rarely do it. I've done it like four times. I have extremely sensitive hearing, like I can hear literally everything within a two mile radius. Its ridiculous and I hate it. I used to cry as a baby all the time because everything seemed to loud to me. But I learned how to use selective hearing. I also see soundwaves. I don't know how to explain what they look like. But, I can see everything in perfect detail. I also have selective sight. Again, its annoying when I wake up."

☞Skills☜
[+]Martial Arts - She has mastered Varma Kalai, Muay Thai, and Tae Kwan Do
[+]Subterfuge - Since she was a child, she was trained to be an assassin and spy
[+]Dance - Like her mother, dance was always something she had time for
[+]Tactics - She's not an expert, but she's good enough, being trained by her father
[+]Musical Prodigy - Her link with sound has driven her to master composing and playing instruments
[+]Leading - An open mind and an open heart make for good leadership qualities
[+]Marksmanship - She was taught by her father, her mother, and Agent Clinton

☞Equipment☜
[+]Throwing knives - They're her number one weapon and are made of solidified light photons
[+]Bow and arrow - Her second favorite weapon, also made of light
[+]Helping hands - Hands made of light that help her multitask
[+]Vehicles - A 2009 deep purple Chevy Avalanche, a 1969 royal blue Dodge Charger, a 2012 hot pink Chevy Camaro z28, and a 2012 olive Mustang Cobra. All of her cars have pictures on the dashboards of herself, her mother, her brother, her father, and deceased friends.
[+]Throwing stars - More weapons made of light
[+]S.H.I.E.L.D. ID/Badge - It allows her level 10 security clearance, only one of three people with such clearance
[+]iPhone and iPad - She is never without them!

☞Weaknesses☜
[-]Black Holes - There's no need for any massive vacuum that would threaten anyone within immediate distance, but even a small one kept near her opponent's body would be enough to render her sound waves and light attacks useless, as the vacuum would suck up the light and sounds with ease.
[-]Right arm - Due to a spar gone wrong with Logan mixed with the attempted help of a young mutant with healing capabilities but lack of experience. If her right arm is hit with enough force, it paralyzes completely from shoulder to fingertips for about an hour at the most.
[-]Geography - During school, she absolutely hated Geography and didn't pay much attention in class. She fails at map reading, latitude, longitude, and reading compasses.

☞History☜
Twenty seven years ago, Nicholas Joseph Fury married a Brazilian mutant; Melina InocencĂŹa del Rosario was a beautiful and kind woman of many talents. To her family, she was an entertainer and a patron of the arts. To her co-workers, she was that and more. Melina was a professional assassin who's main focus was the elimination of mutant terrorists and human terrorists. She was a lone wolf. She Nick while infiltrating the UNN Alpha, recovering a mutant child that had been captured originally as an illegal immigrant by the border patrol, but then put under S.H.I.E.L.D. when her species was made known. She snagged the child with ease, but Nick was waiting for her on the deck alone when she was escaping.

He respected her skill and amazed that she was so under the radar. He told her about Xavier's, telling her that it would be a much safer place for the little girl. She would have been skeptical, but Xavier's was where she took rescued mutants anyways. She was moreso intrigued that the agent knew about the place and was so friendly with mutants. After that, they had several more run-ins and even worked together before they got married. She settled down and was offered a job as an X-Man. And then she got pregnant with twins. She resigned from the X-Men for a while and instead, she taught dance at Xavier's. As far as her children went, Cataleia and her brother didn't really become mutants later; they were born with active X-Genes. Nick was hardly surprised when his daughter was born literally glowing and his son cloaked in a darkness that seemed roll off of him in wisps. He was happy either way just because he had two healthy children.

Nick never did move to Xavier's; his job wouldn't really allow it. He had his own reasons for not being public about his relationship with mutants, knowing that it would benefit them in the end. Nobody even knew he had children - Nobody at Xavier's except Jean and Charles knew about his relationship with Melina. It was that way only so his family would be safe. But the kids did spend plenty of time with their father later on. As soon as the twins turned 3, their mother began to teach them and even train them in martial arts. Cataleia and JavĂer did everything together even though their personalities were so different. They were bright kids and generally picked up on things with ease and took to them with gusto - Though Cataleia has always been weak in Geography and English classes. She doesn't see the need to know what the definition of an adjective is.

When she was eight years old, there was a raid on the mansion lead by William Stryker; she was one of the dozen or so students kidnapped and taken to his base at Alkali Lake where she proved herself to be a true hellion for her captors. She was there with the others for five days before being rescued by the X-Men. During their imprisonment they suffered beatings, experimentation, and verbal abuse. There were even cases of molestation and rape. Cataleia tried her best to defend the others, even taking in 'punishment' meant for them. It was that five days in Hell that started to change her, warping her mind. It wasn't much at first, but it would affect her later on in life.

After they were rescued, she outwardly did not show any signs of there being anything wrong at all. She acted pretty normal, though she began to have awful nightmares, reliving those five days over and over again. She developed a sleep disorder, seeming to run perfectly fine for weeks on end with only four hours of sleep before crashing, spending at least three days a month sleeping all day long. Literally all day. It was only a few months after the incident that she and her brother began to stay at their father's for up to three weeks at a time. Cataleia began to train and study harder, taking advantage of her inability to sleep.

Cataleia continued to excel in school and had gotten a black, red, and brown belt all by the age of sixteen, a year before she graduated. Cataleia, along with others, had been training to become X-Men since they were much younger. Though, of course they knew they would be allowed to venture from the school and pursue other interests until their predecessors had retired. Cataleia, who had been training to specialize in subterfuge and marksmanship, decided that she was going to attend college.

She attended Binghamton University to major in Psychoacoustics, soon being recognised as the world's leading expert on the subject. While in college, she also worked alongside her father as a S.H.I.E.L.D. agent, being trained by Natasha Romanoff and her father to be a master spy and assassin. That left her little time for socializing with people that weren't affiliated with S.H.I.E.L.D. or Xavier's. Her schedule became easier when she graduated with her Masters at the age of twenty-one and started full-time training. She spent her time between Xavier's and S.H.I.E.L.D. though she never went on a mission that lasted longer than two months. It was the next year that she was called back to Xavier's to pursue a full time position as the Headmistress and eventually as the field leader for the X-Men.

Again, her life was busy once more. Getting towards the present, she was on her way back from a meeting with the Avengers when she was the first to spot the message that had come in the form of murder. She was devastated, of course. And then that night proved worse when mutants began to lose their abilities. Their X-Genes just...disappearing. The next week was hectic as they began to return tenants to families, attend press conferences, make room for new tenants, and prepare for the upcoming new school year.

Corresponding with her personality and her physique, Cataleia wears revealing clothing – Her shorts are short and her pants are tight. Her tops are low cut if not mostly unbuttoned. She favors the colors purple, blue, pink, and green and is rarely seen wearing something not of those colors unless it’s black. She usually has her hair down unless she training/working out, then it’s tossed up in a messy bun that usually falls down later on anyways. She doesn’t wear any bracelets or watches, hating to have her wrists cluttered. The only jewelry she’ll wear are her navel piercings, earrings, tongue piercings, rings, and necklaces. She hates hoop earrings.

☞Thoughts on Humans☜
"I'm not ignorant, so I don't judge them all by the actions of the few. I have no problem with humans;Hello! My dad is one. I just don't like the anti-mutant humans. They can all die for all I care."

It was around the time of year that more mutants would come to Xavier’s and learn to control their power at the hands of a colorful variety of professors and various staff members. As Cataleia peeked out from behind the velvet auditorium curtains, she almost cried. Taking a deep breath, the woman checked her iPhone. It was almost four-thirty PM. She should begin her announcement. Slowly, she took a deep breath and summoned all of her courage and will power to walk across the stage with a bright smile. There was a round of applause and some cheers as she stepped up to the center of the stage; where there was no podium or microphone.

The woman who was glowing an array of colored lights parted her lips to speak, but was interrupted by a number of catcalls and wolf-whistles among a few comments; Cataleia was a rather beautiful woman; Her hair was jet black, cascading in thick curls down just behind her knees after years of only trimming dead ends. Her figure was to die for, as it showed in the outfit of choice for the occasion – A black body suit that showed ample cleavage and hugged every curve of her body, matching the heeled black boots that she wore, all made from unstable molecules - Much thanks to Reed Richards.

Cataleia almost always dressed in jaw-dropping clothes. But this was her uniform – She had only just gotten back from a meeting on board the UNN Alpha and didn’t have much time to change. Removing the smile from her face, she cleared her throat. “Welcome. Welcome one and all to Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters. Although, most of the world likes to call it Mutant High.” She smiled at the soft laughs as she tried to lighten the tension in the air. “You are all here for a few reasons. One and most importantly
Is because you’re special. Gifted. Unique. You were blessed with amazing powers like so many others once were. And two
Is because most humans can’t recognize that. Don’t ever believe that you’re an abomination. That’s ignorance and stupidity. That is fear talking! People fear mutants because some abuse their powers. They hate the many for the actions of few. But do they hate their fellow humans? How many human rapists and murders are there that get off better than a mutant who robbed a bank?”

She was getting worked up now, her Hispanic voice tone growing a bit more powerful with each word, and so was the crowd. “I don’t like being in hiding. But we have to be the bigger people. We must wait. You are safe within these walls! Myself and every other member of the X-Men and anyone on my staff will die for any mutant that we can save. Those humans think us a dying people. But we won’t die. We won’t let them destroy us. Even if they did, more would come. Were we not humans once? What makes them think that they are safe from their own hidden genes? Yes. Mutations have vanished all of a sudden
But genes
they don’t just disappear. It is my theory that they have only recessed for a while. They will be back!” The crowd roared in approval.

“We will wait here. We will carry out normal lives here. We will show them that we are here to stay. Mutant and proud, we are the Children of the Atom! We are Homo Sapien Superior! Mutant and proud!” The crowd jumped to their feet, clapping, whistling, crying out and roaring in approval as she stood there with a smile on her face. “Thank you
” She held up a hand, motioning the crowd to hush. “Don't think that this crisis will get some of you out of school - We have your records and if you haven't finished school, you will do so here with some of the world's brightest minds as your instructors. And we will teach you
to control your powers and to fight with and without them. As of now, you are Apprentice X-Men. Each and every one of you. Because as of August 26th, 2012, the humans declared war. And with our numbers so low compared to theirs, we need every able bodied person. But I warn you
If you use your powers for malicious intent, your training will end.”

She grew serious, narrowing her eyes at that remark but soon returned to smiling. The entire time she had been speaking, not a single microphone of any kind was to be seen, though her voice was heard loud and clear. “But, for now. You must get acquainted with your new home and your new family. If you would all please retire to the lobby.” People had been there for a while, but hardly anybody interacted with each other and instead moped in whatever room they locked themselves in. Hell! Schedules hadn't even been made, maps weren't handed out. People just...hung around.

As far as the whole situation was co.concerned, Cataleia herself had decided that they would not openly wage war, but instead remain civil and continue on life as normally as possible. Not everyone was happy with the decision but there was no changing her mind. “You will get maps of the estate and room assignments and dinner is ready in the lobby as well.” The lobby was set up in a way to give the feel of a formal gathering, with a nice dinner buffet and soft music. She watched in silence as the seated crowd left, headed to the lobby. She exhaled slowly and turned around, left with her colleagues. “Well. Time for the meet and greet.” She put on a dazzling smile, showing no hint of stress before hopping off the stage and heading after the others.

Z alika had long since been ready, but she didn’t show her face until last minute. Dressed in the same uniform as Cataleia, even wearing her long, snowy hair down, she snuck onstage just as her friend’s speech began. The lightest of smirks danced across her face throughout the speech – Kitty didn’t speak very many words, but the ones spoken were indeed powerful. It showed through the positive reactions in the crowd. Though, Zee did frown as the X-Men were madeknown. The X-Men were once a secret covert ops team. Zalika only knew about them at a young age because of her mother’s affiliation with the team. But most students could go a while without knowing and they certainly weren’t put through training for it without some sort of assessment. Zalika had spent so much of her life training to perfection just to try out for the team and now people were just tossed onto the team! But
she did understand that they were low in numbers and they had to take what they could get. The X-Men would soon become an army if things escalated any further. Not that she had any such qualms with an army. The humans had several of their own, so why shouldn’t they? The mutant known as Tempest to many didn’t hate humans, per se. To many, it seemed she hated generally everyone. But those close to her knew better.

Zalika couldn’t stand the blindness of the humans, though she herself didn’t see humans or mutants as any different other than a single different gene. But according to Professor Xavier
they all had that gene. And Kitty was right
Many of them were human once
Why do so many humans think themselves exempt? Oh
right. They were protected by the grace of God. She shook her head at her thoughts. Where she came from
Wakanda
Such mutations weren’t mutations - They weren't demon powers. They were viewed as gifts from Bast. Though, those who used their powers for unsavory actions were thought to have been gifted by Sekhmet. Zalika shivered at the mere thought of the Lion Goddess – She had once nearly lost her life to that vile Goddess. Zalika herself thanked Bast and her mother for such gifts, and was rather dismayed that her mother had been among the many that had been depowered during the event that everyone had come to call M-Day. But, as Cataleia said: Mutations don’t just disappear. Orfelina agreed; and if anyone knew about mutations, it was the little gypsy. Zalika snapped out of her thoughts, hearing Cataleia address them.

She almost snarled at the idea of a meet and greet, her lips pulling back to reveal recently filed canines. She had all four of them done, deciding recently to complete her feline appearance. Her eyes were the beginning of this, though she was born with those. As of lately, she had been working a lot on her agility and flexibility. She had been seen lately with a pair of panther ears and a tail to match. Most of her friends assumed that it was another ritual to Bast, and they weren’t wrong. She was showing her dedication for Bast, requesting to be blessed with the abilities of the felines that she loved so much.

Sighing, Zalika followed suit of Cataleia, glancing behind her at a young girl who didn’t look any older than seventeen or eighteen. The girl was staring off into space, shuffling a deck of tarot cards. Shaking her head at the absent-minded young woman, Zee moved lethargically down the aisles and slipped past the doors, leaving them wide open. Once in the presence of others, she almost cringed at the sound of them all talking at once. Once upon a time, in her earlier childhood, Zee would have been bubbly and happy to assist. But now, she just wanted to go back to her attic.

Throughout the whole of Cataleia’s speech, there was a young woman on the far end of the line of people, staring off into space with bright chocolate-colored eyes. Her hair was a mirror of Kitty’s, though hers had been pulled up into a pony tail and had streaks of red. Unlike the others in uniform or professional ‘teacher’ wear, she was wearing a yellow and purple and a pair of baggy jeans that had holes in them. Her jeans, shirt, face, and arms were smeared in grease and her arms had plenty of cuts and scrapes among scars. Upon her hands were a pair of black gloves. About her waist, she wore a tool belt that was filled with a variety of everyday tools and a few other high-tech ones. Her figure wasn’t nearly as flattering as any of the other women on stage with her, being of athletic build. It looked as though she were only just now hitting puberty. Orfelina stayed in her daze until she could feel someone’s eyes on her, boring into her skull for a few moments.

She snapped back to reality, seeing Zalika staring at her before she had left the stage. A blush covered her face as she fidgeted before following suit. As she entered the lobby, she flinched at the number of people. It wasn’t much, certainly far less than the amount she grew up around – But most of them were strangers. She thought for a second that maybe this could be a new start for her. As a child, she was often the object of bullies for being born as basically a lab rat. Of course there were others, but she was the runt of the litter. She had a feeling that things would be better this time around – But she still didn’t want to hang around. Instead, she made a quick getaway and ran outside. She ran and ran and ran. She ran all the way down the driveway to the garage, not stopping to look back.

She needed to think. She arrived skidding to a halt at the doors, pausing to punch in the security code. Massive titanium doors slid open to reveal a large variety of vehicles: Custom cars, future car concepts, Harleys, dirt bikes. You name it, it was there. Lina made her way to a 2013 Mustang Cobra – She had a few connections – It was white as snow with a cobra design on the side rear half. She slid her hand along the side, looking underneath the hood with a smile of pride as she whispered. “Did ya miss me baby?” She sang softly her favorite song as she worked. It was a rap song, but she was a rapping failure so she had formatted it for singing. As she worked, her voice died to a hum and she let her mind wander. She began to think of the times she spent in the lab with Charles and Bruce, researching mutations. She knew for a fact that genes didn't just disappear. That was stupid. Human geneticists were claiming that normal genes had begun to attack the mutant genes, forcing it out. Biblethumpers were saying God was striking down the Devil's children...She still had research to do. But she needed to upgrade her equipment. Maybe she would get Tiny Toni to help.

Cortez and Zoey Craven stood side by side as they listened to the envigorating speech by Ms. Cateleia. Zoey's eyes were on the beautiful white haired African woman. Cortez wasn't actually paying any attention to her or Prof. Cateleia's particularly snug body suits - which was usually the case for him. He was listening to her speech, He felt every word the Hispanic woman spoke touch him deep down to his soul. He even cheered 'Mutant and Proud' with the others.

He was a Mutant and was very proud. He had 'MnP' tattooed on his left wrist. He'd witnessed the bigotry and hate firsthand himself like many others. His own parents disowned him. He looked down at his baby sister. Sweet kid. They'd abandoned her too or probably would have, had she not run away and he not found her. He probably would have gotten his ass kicked if it weren't for Lina. She had a vision that told him that he was gonna be beaten after his powers were discovered at a poetry slam. It was a pity. That particular poem he truely felt, which was probably why it started to come to life.

Oops.

He looked down at his sister as she looked nervous. Her face was completely blank of expression, which for him was a clear indication that her mind was elsewhere. "Hey, whatsamatter, Twerp?" He asked her and she snapped out of her thoughts and glared at him.

"Must you?" the 10 year old asked with a huff.

"Yes, but that's neither here nor there. What's up?"

He asked, actually concerned. She looked back at the crowd slowly dispersing. "It's just...There's alot more of them-"

"Us." Cortez corrected.

Zoey looked down. "There's alot more of us then I thought." She said. Cortez sighed and knelt down to speak face to face, placing his hands on her tiny shoulders. "Z. Look. You have nothing to be worried about. You're safer here, then with Mom or Dad or anywhere else." He said softly. She sighed. "I know it's just...I don't know..." She said and Cortez rose and scooped her up into a hug. "Look, I know you're not use to being a mutant yet but here. You're not a mutant, You're just Zoey Craven. Cortez's little sister. Although living in my shadow is probably way worse then being with the Normies." He said with a chuckle and she smiled. "You're a dork, you know that?" She said with a laugh. "Ehh. I've been told a few times." He said with a shrug and a goofy grin.

"Hey, why don't you go and get settled in?" He said and set her down. She smiled up at him and looked back at the stage. "You wanna see Professor Zee, don't you?" He asked and she smiled sheepishly. "You know, She doesn't say much aside from the fact that she's a little too old for you." He said and Zoey's eyes widen and she smacked him. "Hey. I don't judge. I mean hell, If she weren't married and couldn't kick my ass from here to Wakanda then yea. I'd feel her too." He said and Zoey just scoffed. "It's a wonder, we come from the same gene pool." She said and walked off. Cortez grinned. He knew him teasing her would take her mind off of leaving Chicago. It wasn't that long ago that Lina practically threatened to kill him if he didn't bring his ass. He wasn't going to because it was too far from Zoey but she was convincing and by convincing, it meant she told him she'd tell her dad.

Cortez wanted no parts of him which was probably why he hadn't asked her out yet. He'd been wanting to for a while now but...Mr. Howlett...not a man to be trifled with and though he had no real reason to fear him as he would respect his daughter -he already did- he just didn't want the man breaking him in half for going any further then first base with her. Cortez decided to keep it friendly. On top of that, She was his best friend. She kinda saved his ass and helped him get in the school and helped him get out to look after Zoey. So naturally he held strong feelings for her. Her dad was a hurdle but ruining their friendship was what stopped him from pursuing a relationship with her.

He decided to go let her know Zoey was getting settled and everything was good. Was it an excuse to see her...Yes but what's he gonna do?

He walked toward the garage where he knew she'd be. He heard rap coming from her Mustang and smirked. He liked that song. So, in typical Cortez fashion ,he began to sing the lyrics to get her attention. "So just take me home where the moon is mellow, then roses are grown and M&M's are yellow and the lightbulbs around my mirror don't flicker, Everybody gets a nice autograph picture, one for you and one for your sister, who had to work tonight but is an avid listener. Every songs her favorite song and Mics don't feedback, all the reviewer say you need to go and see that. Then everybody claps cause everybody is pleased and then they all take the stage and start performing for me, like Ha ha ha ha, Haha haha ha, Ha." He sang and grinned. "Sorry. That's my song." He said feigning a sheepish attitude.

"Hmm?" Lina looked up with a dimpled smile to see Cortez, offering a light wave with greasy, blackened hands. Cortez was a sweety even though he was spoiled - Lina had been rather taken by him for a while, though she was far too shy to say anything to him. Cataleia was always dropping hints for Cortez or training Lina how to interact with people she fancies. The results were always disastrous. Lina really just wasn't a people person. Even when she was working at Stark tower, Tony and Pepper had given her an entire floor to invent, build, and research. The only people she worked alongside comfortably were Tony, Pepper, Melody, Bruce, Benjamin, her brother, her father, Cataleia, Peter, and Zalika.

She wiped her hands on her jeans and grabbed her gloves, putting them on. Her power was one that generally required her to touch people or things to work in most cases, but after practice, she was able to touch inanimate objects with her hands without triggering a vision. She hated having to wear sweaters, jackets, gloves, and pants all the time in public because even the slightest brush against someone would trigger a vision if their skin contacted people. So she didn't really hug people, nor did she kiss, and rarely did she hold hands. It wasn't that she didn't want to. She just didn't like the emotional overload that came with the visions.

She turned back to her car with a smile. "I just fitted her with a new arc cannon. I'm working on a tractor beam. Whadaya think?" Her accent was lightly Italian, her voice soft as she reached into her car, tinkering with the engine.

Back in the lobby, Cataleia was laughing softly in a small circle or friends and new people as they all exchanged funny stories. A boy named Justin was just telling everyone how his ex best friend tried to hit on a girl, but Justin possessed his mind and made him tell the girl that he had herpes and a bad case of the clap for the fifteenth time in the past two months. Fucking hilarious!

Cataleia's face was as red as a cherry as she gasped for air. The dark-haired boy was smirking in victory as everyone turned red and guffawed like a pack of rapid hyenas. Cataleia's laughter was cut short as she felt arms around her waist pulling her into the empty hallway behind her. She inhaled deeply, filling her nostrils with the scent of Antonio Banderas Spirit cologne, Downy, and the light hint of grease. It was her...what was he to her? They dated on and off before and they slept together sometimes, but...she wouldn't say that he was her boyfriend or her lover. Silas was her best friend.

With benefits.

She.turned around in his arms and wrapped him.in a tight hug, basking in his scent. "That was the shortest speech I have ever heard." He looked down with those big chocolate orbs that were filled with adoration. Silas loved Cataleia with every fiber of his being; even though she was a century younger than him. He was enraptured by her beauty and her leadership. Plus the sex was great. She smiled up at him and chuckled. "But inspiring. And that's what matters."

"I thought it was great." Buck Rogers had come down the hallway, smiling softly as Cataleia gently pushed herself from Silas' arms to give Buck a tight hug. "Hey! What are you doing here?" Buck held her tightly, rubbing her back. "Your dad sent me. Benjamin should be here shortly. Aliyah is on mission with her parents." Buck had been sent specifically to guard Cataleia - And he sure as hell wasn't complaining. Cataleia ignored the possessive growl coming from Silas behind her. "Yes, because I need some big, strong man to protect me." She didn't mean for it to sound as bitchy as it had come out, but she wasn't pleased with her father sending body guards. She was Agent of the year five years in a row! She could handle her own.

Before Buck could explain, she was gone, storming up to her room to have a serious talk with her father. Buck and Silas were left to stare down before aggressively pushing past each other to go mingle.

Above everyone was a young man with dusty blonde hair, sitting with perfect balance on the chandelier, scanning the crowd for his aunt. His gleaming yellow eyes were soul-piercing and filled with loathing. All these people were here because of humans. Not his mother. Filthy, disgusting, stupid humans. He glared mostly at Buck - To Markus, he was just a lab rat. Like his goody-goody dad. Captain America. Pfft. Buck didn't belong here.

He watched closely as the African Princess strode about, keeping the order as people got their fill of food, got their room assignments, and slowly began to disperse. He looked away in disgust as the LeBeau boy sent a blush across the cheeks of an older blonde male. "Fucking queers." He hissed under his breath.

Florence

Florence sat by herself as she listened to Cateleia's little speech. Well, she didn't listen very closely but she did catch a few things from the woman. And once it was over she clapped, but not very loudly. Not compared to the other mutants in the room. She could feel the emotions in the room mostly consisting happiness, pride, and joy. It actually started to hurt her head with how many of them were feeling the same exact thing. And, there wasn't one person in the room that was sad at the time. Unless they were crying tears of joys. Her? She was happy but, apathy also was in her as well. She was proud to be a mutant, she truly was but it was because of her "gift" that got her kicked out of her house and made her live on the streets. That's where she found her actually family, sure it may have been a gang but they were just like her. They all got kicked out of their homes because of their powers but then they found the gang. They were just like a family and for eight years it was. Until the raid. That raid was easily the worst day of her life. She had to hide as she watched her family and best friends be killed. She felt like a coward. She should have fought back, and she died at least they would die together. But, no, she hid like a child and she felt ashamed since. "I miss you guys."

After that she had nowhere to go. So, she decided to come to Xavier where she knew that she would be protected from any humans who might want to try and kill her. She had been here only a couple months and she chose to go a bit unseen. Not many people actually knew anything about her other than her first name and her power. She wanted to keep it that way. She watched as everyone walked out and went their seperate ways and after everyone exited to large room. She got up from her seat and grabbed her small bag that she on the floor next to her foot, putting the strap around her shoulder before walking out. She looked and made sure she had everything in her bag as before, a pad of plain paper, her black pens, and her colored markers that she used to draw on the palms of her hands. Florence walked out of the room with her black sneakers hitting the floor and she decided to just go walk around, see what she could find.

She started to walked past the garage and before hearing talking from the other side. If she was nosey person she would have went inside or tried to get inside but, no. She has more maturity than that. She walked a bit more and took a seat on the floor with a smirk on her face. She just wanted to be somewhere quiet but now she wanted to be able to see who was in the room. She took out her paper and three black pens before she started to work on a drawing she's had seen two weeks ago. Looking at it for the first time people, mostly little Miss. Sunshine, Melody Stark thought it was a bit disturbing. But, Flor didnt draw to please. She drew because it was the one place she didn't give a damn bout what people thought.

Melody

Melody sat up straight as their leader spoke. She her infamous bright smile on her face that she got from her father. Her legs were crossed as she listened closely to Catelina and once she was done, Melly clapped and cheered just like everyone else in the room, well almost everyone except little Miss. Downer who decided to stay in her seat and clap. She looked over and saw Cortez and his little sister, oey clapping as well. She knew that Cor was proud to be a mutant which made her like his attitude. Melody looked back towards the group of people she was with and watched as the exited the room, following close behind the small group of young adults with a technology based power as well. She luckly had no problems making friend but she didn't know if they were real friends or if they wanted to learn more about her family. Either way, she didn't care, she had friends didn't she?

The small group consisting of two girls and three guys, decided they wanted to go to the lobby just to talk to each other and see what they could do with their powers. She shook her head and told them how she wanted to go back to her room and listen to some new music she got. One of the guys who caught her eye once coming to Xaiver, Jonah nudged her alittle as he looked at her with dark brown eyes with a small smile on his face "Yea, come on, Melly have a little social time. You can listen to music in the night." Melody smiled at her little puppy crush and the rest of a group and sighed. "Ok, ok. Fine." She said as she nudged Jonah back as hard as she could but, with how small and petite she was it wasn't very hard. Jonah put an arm around the red head girl with a smile on his face as he put his other hand through his matching dark brown hair.

The group walked into the lobby and took a couple seat all in a circle as they began to talk. "Look it's our fearless leader." One of the other girls name Sunny said as she slipped a piece of her fine black hair behind her ear. Sunny was easily one of the most attractive girls, Melody has seen in her life. She was around 5'9 and looked like that perfect Asian model her mother was. She was also one of the sassiest people too. The only thing is that Sunny didn't really like being at Xavier sometimes. Seeing that she was a trust fund baby. Melody turned her body towards the other louder group to see Catelina and Silas along with a couple of their friends. She smiled at the girl before returning her attention back to Jonah and her own group.

"You must be joking." Zalika canted her head to the left before squatting down so that she was eye level with the child. She flicked the dark panther ears that replaced the ears that used to be on the side of her head. "People fear me. They are wary and try their best to avoid me. I am not outgoing nor am I a kind woman. I am harsh and judgemental. I hit children your age when they misbehave. I have pulled guns on them just for getting on my nerves. Is this what you want? To grow to be silent and hateful? For others to listen mostly out of fear? I care not whether people like me - Only that they respect and fear me. It is fear that prevents mutiny. You want a better mentor for leading? Go to Cataleia. You want a mother? Go to Cataleia. You want to learn more about your powers? Go to Orfelina. I don't have the patience to play mommy right now. How do I know you're strong enough to be worth my time? I have little patience for childlike attitudes. You are not the first to ask - What makes you so special? Why me?"

Zalika grilled the girl like she was a fish. She wasn't one that was known for kindness or patience. It was rare that either of those virtues were expressed towards anyone that she didn't grow up with. She looked the girl right in her eyes, her own strangely mystic blue and green ones smoldering. "You can lead with love or fear. What is your choice?"

Cataleia waved absent-mindedly to Melody on her way back downstairs, heatedly spouting Portuguese at her father on the phone, heading outdoors with Buck close behind. Markus watched from above before dropping from his perch and landing with acrobatic grace, startling those who didn't see him. He snarled at them before disappearing in a cloud of orange smoke. He reappeared near the garages in a tree adjacent to where Florence was drawing. He watched with a canted head, his yellow-orange eyes gleaming with devilish mischief.

Silas ignored Cortez, roughly brushing past the boy to his sister. The two shared a long and tight hug, whispering to each other in a language that seemed to be a mix of some Native American, Italian, and French. Silas then held his sister at arm's length, smiling fondly before kissing the top of her head. Turning to leave, he regarded Cortez with a cold and hateful stare, baring fangs and growling before shoving past him again. Silas and Orfelina had a very close bond and they had both literally killed to protect each other from any and all harm - Physical, mental, and emotional. Silas didn't like the way Cortez's pheromones spiked when he saw Lina. It made him want to incinerate the kid.

He stepped back outside, not pausing as he spoke. "It's rude to eavesdrop, Florence. Nor is it polite to spy, Markus." He had smelt them both, not needing to look to know where they were. He ran his fingers through his black hair as he went on.

Julio winked and waved as the older man headed to bed. He learned that his name was Oliver and he was recently divorced. The Brazilian-Cajun chuckled, slinking his way over to Melody and her group of techies. "Hey. Guys." He wasn't the best English speaker and had only began to learn seven months ago how to speak it.
