"Looks like we're in this together, eh?" Xaverius chuckled, giving Dustin a pat on the back. "So, as soon as you lot are ready to move, I'll be right with ya!" He said confidently, fist clenched in an attempted heroic pose.

Later, further in the night, when clouds had covered the sky like a foggy blanket, dampening the light of the stars and allowing only the moon to just barely shine through to the sands below...a troop of Meltsanders approached the tent where the group from Dol-Duna was currently resting.

"Sulfur! Sulfur! Sulfurious!" Sulfurious announced, slithering into the tent and sporting oily black robes, followed by a dozen Meltsander soldiers, each armed and prepared for battle. "The time is nigh! Are you all ready?"

"As we'll ever be," Uluru answered. "Are the transports prepared?" He asked as Sulfurious viciously nodded and motioned a hand outside. Once they left the tent, the group would notice a trio of wagons, each fitted with a large glass cage, obviously the handiwork of the Meltsander's glass manipulation.

"It's a pretty basic plan. We're posing as bounty hunters, bringing in the Meltsanders for a decently sized reward," Uluru explained as Hanmar began to approach, with a trio of soldiers at her side led by Slathe. "The Aklar have supposedly impenetrable walls. It's the biggest obstacle the Meltsanders are facing in their campaign against them. So once we get past that...some of our 'captives' break loose and open the gates, letting the rest of the Meltsander army in.

"Seems pretty foolproof," Jake said, hands in his belt as he surveyed the wagons. "If it doesn't work, be prepared to make a hasty retreat, eh?" Jake laughed and walked to one of the wagons.

"Seems decent enough, let's do it!" Xaverius readied himself for when the time was right to go, he was determined that he would keep his violent actions to a minimum this time around.

Something felt wrong about this plan, but Elise wasn't going to challenge anyone. They'd get what they needed and be on their way. Besides, it's not like they were igniting a war, no they were caught up in an already drug out war.

She made her way to Mirova's wagon, not wanting to be anywhere near a Meltsander or their transports. The night air was calm and carried the smell of the fires in the camp. She knew she wouldn't miss this place, and was happy they were leaving it behind.

"That'll likely be our best choice in terms of getting in. Any other alternatives would result in massive loss of life." Dustin gave a nod towards Uluru. "I was a bounty hunter in Dol-Duna, I can be one of the masqueraders."

After having said his piece, the Kassellander retreated back over to their own wagon, away from the Meltsanders. He wasn't the kind to socialize with strangers purely for fun, and he wasn't exactly sure how he felt about Clan Meltsand either. Stuff felt... off. They were a tough, war-like people. They were gritty, they were rough around the edges, and they got down to business it seemed. All of those good, especially in the Sea of Sand, but not exactly pleasant. His people weren't much better to a degree of sorts, but they did have cities like Grand Yusil, only lesser in grandeur, rather than swathes of tents.

Dustin found the girl Elise by the wagon. He looked her over via the corner of his eye. She was from Samariamus too, it seemed. Another Ariketi. "You are the girl named Elise, correct? You are a Samarian, just like your friend the acolyte?" Sure, she was a stranger too, but she was part of their group and they'd be leaving Clan Meltsand as soon as possible.

Elise looked over and saw the Kassellander, "You are the girl named Elise, correct? You are a Samarian, just like your friend the acolyte?"

Elise nodded, giving him a small smile, "Yeah, my name is Elise, you're Dustin right?" She leaned against the wagon, trying to relax and thankful for the lighthearted conversation. "I saw you speaking with Aisha earlier, and while we do come from the same clan, we don't actually know each other aside from all that's happened. I don't follow the Creed, not many do." She looked off into the distance, afraid she was talking too much, "Uh, you said you were a bounty hunter in Dol-Duna?"

The Atzerii chuckled at the girl's comment about her fellow clanswoman. "I am. I served as a bounty hunter in Dol-Duna for several months after my arrival there. I have a little bit of experience with what that particular job entails, but not much in comparison to our friend the Meltsanders are calling 'Hono no Ko.'"

"What about you?" he asked, glancing down at her for a moment as he inquired before returning his gaze back to the busy Meltsanders around them while they prepared for the coming invasion.

Skullivan frowned as Sulfurious attacked him.

"Hey," A voice called from behind Sulfurious. Mirova stood, her hood down, the rest of the Nomad Clan behind her. "You're not meant to hurt my people," She called to the fake Shaman...

Mirova seemed unfazed by Sulfurious snaking himself around her like some sort of slithering foe. Instead the Mir hummed and moved her shoulder's closer to the man. "A leader? I suppose... I am," She began, glancing over to the team to see if there were any objections. She wasn't, of course. They were barely a group. "I mean-" Skullivan swallowed his words, looking down as the cold desert-night wind flung his hair in front of his face. They were stuck together, until they got out of this situation at least. "Sure, yeah," He muttered, giving Uluru a nervous glance.

Mirova turned to Sulfurious, staring him down in the eyes. There was something unsettling about the woman when she stopped being a neutral-natured asshole and instead put her full attention on you. Something that made you feel uncomfortably singled out. "And unlike you I've seen... real... magic," Mirova whispered.

"What, I....I'll have you know that I am a manipulator of the mystic eye. A maestro of secrets dark and arcane!" Sulfurious demanded, his voice even and stern, but his body language prove differently as he began to take a step back. "What can you do to back up your...purported claims of seeing magic?!" Sulfurious cackled. For I do not simply believe such hogwash!"

Uluru glanced back at first to Skullivan and then Mirova. He said nothing, but appeared contemplative as the two mystics decided to strike up a vicious argument . "A leader, huh?" Uluru muttered to himself, looking upon the other members of the group with a small nod.

Mirova smirked at Sulfurious as he backed away into the darkness from the wagon - in the background the rest of the sleeping Meltsand Camp either preparing for the raid or trying to get sleep. There were no guards. Mirova walked forward, invading the Sham-Man's personal space. "Magic," The woman breathed, her white-lipstick crusted and chapped on her lips as she reached into her robe pocket. "Real... magic..."

Mirova pulled out a stone- smooth and black, darker than all other black's, like the night's sky. "Look into this black rock," Mirova whispered, raising it to Sulfurious' face. "And tell me what you see..."

Sulfurious peered into the dark rock and sneered. "A prediction rock of Obsidian. A useless trinket sold by Nomads," he glared at Mirova as he used the term disdainfully. "To trick potential customers that it will reveal their destiny. The results are randomized, I've seen it myself! Sulfurious chuckled, shrugging his shoulders overdramatically. "Is this supposed to impress me?! Let me stop you right there and answer for you! It does not. Especially now that revealing that you carry such a useless device betrays to me that you are but a foolhardy Nomad, a follower of an endless dream? Sulfurious scoffed.

"No, it's not supposed to impress you," Mirova said, a giant shark-like grin appearing on her face. "It's supposed to hurt you." With a violent swing Mirova bludgeoned Sulfurious in the face with the rock, smashing him backward unconscious. Mirova glared down at the stupid man before turning to Skullivan. "I'm not your enemy," She said, raising her arms in a half shrug before putting her rock away again.

Skullivan swallowed, glancing down at the unconscious wizard. "Thanks..." He sighed.

Skullivan watched as their Meltsander escort guard didn't care about the Shaman at all before moving over to Uluru. "Jake and Mirova are both... not great," Skullivan admitted. "But I hope they're not great on our side." The Wetland Traitor glanced up at Uluru. "And I hope this plan works better than your last one - the Wetlanders are still out there, the Change... is still out there. We need to get out of this... situation as soon as possible."

"All we need to do is help the Meltsanders get to the Aklar," Uluru summised. "We can steer the group away from then once they start their war. Maybe they'll be grateful enpugh for our help, that they'll give us some supplies....IF the plan works."

"I was wondering where that gelatin went," the Sulfurious whispered as he awoke and devoured the lint and sand covered, brain shaped gelatin laying on the ground before getting up and attending to the wagons.

"Wait- we're not double-crossing the Meltsanders?" Skullivan questioned, squinting at Uluru. "These- these men are warmongers. I thought we'd high-tail it when we reached the town."

Mirova turned to Jake at the side of the wagon, the man having followed her past Sulfurious unconscious body. Mirova crossed her arms as the man called her out. "You don't threaten my people... Skullivan found something that could save the world. I'm not gonna let someone hurt something as important as saving the world," Mirova blinked at Jake. "Not even you."

"We're gonna honor our end of the bargain," Uluru corrected. "I'd rather get out of here as soon as possible, but as you can see, these Meltsanders are paranoid and they have an army. Besides, we have litwrally no new leads on this Change thing. Who knows? Aklar might have something..."

"No we don't - we have a language, we have Yemar script, we have the Nomad!" Skullivan began. "I know where the Leviathan was heading. We don't need this. We need to get to a... normal clan." Skullivan sighed, glaring at the camp. "If that even exists in this desert..."

Mirova squinted at Jake. "It doesn't matter if I'm serious about it, cowboy-ninja - there's something here... enough people believe there's something here." Mirova hugged herself, shrugging a bit. "So maybe there is."
