Sara Muir

"..." *starts humming to herself*

0 · 133 views · located in 'Twisted Tree High'

a character in “Nothing between us.”, as played by lilyWhite

Name: Sara Muir
Age: 16
Gender: Female
Designation: The Withdrawn Girl
Appearance: Pale blonde hair, neatly groomed, that hangs over her shoulders. She has dark blue eyes and a fair, light complexion. She wears simple dresses in light colour, most often a light blue shade. She is of slender build and is just above five feet.
Personality: Sara is nervous around others and rarely speaks unless directly addressed in social situations. She tries to keep out of conversations and events happening with people she doesn't know. Although her gift would allow her to manipulate others for her own gain, Sara is quite selfless and kind, although she might put her gift to use to benefit those she considers close friends.
Gift: Sara's singing has magical effects on those who hear it, and for some songs she has power over who can hear it and who she is silent to. Her songs can rouse the emotions of those who hear it, disorient them, or put all around her to sleep. She needs to be able to concentrate for her songs to have the most effect, and they are often useless against people who know what she is doing.
History: Sara's family had always lived just outside of the town where Twisted Tree High was located. As she neared her teenage years, she began to realize her natural talent for singing and found that her songs had profound effects on those who heard them. Upon learning about Twisted Tree High, Sara "convinced" her parents to enroll her there, not wanting her parents to know that their normal family wasn't quite as normal as they thought.
Fun Facts: Sara collects feathers from various birds. She has a fondness for stories and myths about sirens, as they remind her of her own gift.
Quotes: "Most of my favourite songs don't make people feel certain ways."
Extra: How effective Sara's songs are on others may depend on both the other person's and Sara's feelings towards the other. For songs that evoke a positive emotion such as happiness, bliss, or love, her song is more powerful if she has a close relationship with the listener. Her manipulation and charm songs are more effective if the listener doesn't see her - the listener will imagine the influence as coming from someone who they would normally obey or their ideal image of a lover respectively.

Underneath a tree that stood near the edge of the school, Sara sat, lost in her thoughts. She whistled to herself, trying to keep the song low. One of her notebooks laid on the grass beside her, open face-down. It was still about an hour until class, meaning that very few people were around to hear Sara practise her singing. She detested audiences, not just because of the attention but because she didn't like accidentally making people cry or anything else. Even now, she was worried that people within earshot would suddenly feel full of vitality and spirit and might attribute it to her singing.

After a few minutes, she checked the time. There was still plenty of time to spare, so she pulled herself up onto her feet, putting her notebook away into her backpack. She started down the sidewalk away from Twisted Trees High School, humming under her breath. People she passed by found themselves with a smile on their face, their moods a little higher than before her notes rang in their ears. She would just take a walk down the street to bide her time and avoid the gathering students before it was time to get back to school.
