Paris: the epicenter of fine art, dining, and class. Culture resonates through the very foundation of the city; in the wide, tree lined boulevards, in the narrow cobblestone alleys, and, of course, within the charming cafes and designer boutiques threaded along the Rue du Faubourg Saint-Honorรฉ.

The city lures in young romantics from across the globe, hoping to find themselves in architecture twined with history and elegance or a glimpse of purpose in the twinkling Seine river. Or, perhaps, in a chance encounter with an ephemeral muse. Many find new facets of themselves in this bustling city drenched in charm and sophistication.

Whatever the purpose of the visit, however, there remains one unshakable truth: For however long or fleeting the stay, Paris becomes a part of any who enter and breathe the unmistakable perfume of a city so full of life.

The ร‰cole nationale supรฉrieure des Beaux-Arts (ENSBA) is a highly competitive university in the instruction of the arts. Located across the Seine from the Musรฉe du Louvre in the heart of Saint-Germain-des-Prรฉs, it is the ideal location for budding artists.

As a distinguished and elite institution, artists of all walks of life vie for admission. Whether it be paints and canvas or stage time and critique, students are supplied with the tools and resources necessary to help further their talents. Those enrolled are offered life changing opportunities that would otherwise remain unavailable to them. The institution provides promising students with an audience of great influence in their chosen field and ensures a high employment rate after graduation. French citizens have an obvious advantage in enrollment, but this year the school is pushing for cultural awareness and acceptance, reaching out to other art institutions across the globe and offering students a chance to transfer and learn in a city of such rich, artistic history.

As a part of ENSBAโ€™s goal to challenge and diversify their students, each transfer student will be paired with a local of promising talent. Together they must work together on, and finish by the end of the semester, a collaborative piece highlighting both student's talents. Their assigned partner is not chosen at random, but instead pulled from a small pool of students who volunteered. Students are not generally provided housing, but those involved in the transfer program will be provided a rental studio, a great incentive considering the exceptionally expensive cost of living in Paris.

This limited offer will be available to ten students; five global transfers and five locals. A five bedroom suite in an attractive location near the Luxembourg garden will be provided for those qualified.

Stay in the boundaries of this website's rules. No one wants to read explicit smut or gore. That's what fanfiction's for.

As far as reservations go, please use the ooc tab. I would appreciate it if you would include a brief synopsis of your character (gender, major, etc.), along with your request

Donโ€™t feel pressured to choose the same major as someone else in order to ensure youโ€™re paired up, Iโ€™m not going to be selecting transfer/local pairings based on similar majors (if there is a specific partner you would like feel free to pm me)

Be vocal in general in the ooc tab. We like feedback and collaboration when it comes to plotlines and such.

Thereโ€™s really no length requirement, Iโ€™m a firm believer in quality over quantity. I do, however, think itโ€™s nearly impossible to write a satisfying post in a single line. But who knows? Maybe youโ€™ll surprise me

An upsetting trend I've seen recently on this site is kicking people from a roleplay if they donโ€™t post by a deadline. Don't stress about that. This RP was designed as a source of entertainment, not anxiety. We're pretty chill

If you do find that you will be unable to post for an extended period, let us know in the ooc tab. Iโ€™d hate for anyone to think you just up and abandoned us

I'd like for all characters to have a hex code, inform us of your code choice in either a pm or through the ooc tab

Take full advantage of the ooc tab. Collaboration is what makes these roleplays so much fun!

mac#2032B4 - DIALOGUE
mac#B81E21 - THOUGHTS

At least his roommate seemed nice enough; he couldn't imagine he'd get along with some diva. Or maybe she was one and was just keeping it under wraps for now? It was a bit too early to tell. Wouldn't matter much in the long run, as they'd likely be too engrossed in trying to finish their term project. Whatever they came up with, Wyatt wouldn't settle for something mediocre. Language wouldn't be an issue, as she replied to him easily in English.

"Ah, your lines are smooth and flow well." It was the first thing he noticed from the image. The sketching reminded him a lot of his sister's style when she was younger and went through an all-anime phase. Liesel had since outgrown it, but its influence remained evident in her work. "It's architecture. I design buildings."

From the open door, the sounds of conversation filtered through; it seemed others had arrived. He gave it a look, feeling reluctant to go downstairs with a crowd, but knowing he had to grab his things from the couch. "I'm guessing everyone's arrived by now; we should introduce ourselves when we can. I'll go down ahead and collect the rest of my stuff." With that, he left, closing the door behind him with his foot so she wouldn't be bothered by the noise if she decided to stay in.

Andaming tao. (A lot of people.) He'd silently made his way down the steps, not wanting to draw attention to himself as he did. From what he'd heard on the way down, it sounded like some of them were headed out to do groceries. Oh yeah, our pantry's probably empty. The rest of his luggage remained untouched, and he reached then swung both onto his left shoulder, wincing a bit at the sudden weight. The tube that contained his portfolio wasn't the problem; it was his duffle bag of clothes that contained the bulk of the weight.

He listened in on them as he adjusted the straps, frowning as he realized he likely wouldn't be involved in the day trip. He needed to set-up and unpack his things after all. Just figuring out how to stow his multiple prints was going to take half an hour.

Wyatt didn't feel 100% comfortable joining the conversation, but his need for efficiency far outweighed his antisocial tendencies. After all, he had no idea just how familiar these people were with housekeeping. "If you're all heading out, exchange phone numbers." The fact he used English in a fully French conversation was a bit jarring, calling a lot of attention to himself unintentionally. With an inaudible sigh, he brought out his own phone, new sim card already in place from when he'd set it at the airport. "There are other things we need besides food, like cleaning supplies and basic medications. I can compile a list and text it once I see what we have."

"Which one's my lucky partner?" Lucky indeed. Basile sat up from his stovetop perch and couldn't help his wandering gaze. The woman was gorgeous. Flowing red locks, a delicate yet confident body, and oh those lips; those beautiful, luscious lips. Basile stubbed out his cigarette on the stove top and tossed it, eyes trained on the stunning woman and zeroing in.

A commanding voice, however, halted the ginger in his tracks. Basile narrowed his eyes, stalking forward, and loomed slightly over the blonde man; he didn't like his tone. "If there was a balcony, I'd gladly smoke there, if I had a window in my room, I'd probably smoke there as well, if I could get the bloody windows to open I'd even do it there. But I can't. And I'm not about to go down three flights to smoke only to come right back up again." He did not like being told what to do. Looming only a second longer, Basile turned and sauntered back towards the entrancing redhead.

"If you're all heading out, exchange phone numbers," Came an abrupt, English voice from the stairs. Basile grinned, that guy had the right idea.

The tall man continued speaking, however, and Basile restrained a sigh. He would admit these were all important and essential things they needed, and it was good to know someone was on top of it all, but now was not the time. The ginger had other things on his mind. Namely, a gorgeous young woman he had yet to introduce himself to.

"And that, is an adventure for another day," he addressed the blue haired man at the base of the stairs, "You all just got here and the sun is going down. No time to go shopping." Basile wasn't particularly fond of the English language, but for the sake of the transfers he'd acquiesce. "Relax, take in some of that fresh Paris air, and get some food. My vote's takeout." Basile kept his easy grin trained on the flawless young woman, only occasionally looking away to engage the rest of the room. "There's a great Thai place not too far from here. Or," green eyes pointedly rolled towards his aggressive roomate, "an American bistrot if you aren't comfortable branching out." Basile turned to face the rest of the students, hands emphasizing his words, "But I suppose you transfers are looking forward to that world famous French cuisine. I'm sure Benji's still delivers.

"Then again, if you'd all prefer a sit-in restaurant," Basile glanced at Belle, a small smile dancing across his lips, "I'm sure miss... Belle was it? Has exquisite taste."

Basile turned in closer to the redhead, smiling and gently reaching for her hand, "Hello, I'm Basile Roux," the French rolled from sly lips, eloquent and soft, "ever the pleasure to meet you." The ginger's smile only grew as he took a moment to pull out his phone, "Cool and Collected over there," Basile jerked a thumb back towards the man by the stairs, "definitely had a point. Exchanging numbers makes sense." Basile sent him a silent thank you, he just made the entire process that much easier.

Cecile felt warm when Wyatt complimented her, but once he left, she realized- She'd have to go downstairs to introduce herself. She couldn't just be, "The ghost of Rรฉsidence Sarrhail". But wasn't she always like that? Even in her busy- But small hometown, she had 0- Well maybe one friend, and that was her dog. Cecile sat back down, rubbing her arm. She looked down at her clothes, which were messy, and her face had dirt on it. "Hmm. I should change clothes.. Maybe then I'll actually go downstairs." Cecile stretched out, and spoke freely, since Wyatt wasn't in the room. Cecile finally got up, and locked the door to the room- In case Wyatt, or anyone else decided to come in while she was changing. Soon she was out of her, clothes, and put on brand new ones.

Soon she went out to brush her hair, teeth, and face- But she was only going to really focus on face- Especially the dirt. She was in the bathroom, looking around at it's gorgeous architecture. She then started to pull out her hairbrush, and tooth brush from her 'bathroom bag'. She started to brush her teeth, for an exact two minutes, then combed, and brushed her hair, and put them into two individual braids. The last part she scrubbed her face off with a little face towel she had brought, and wet down. Now, she was ready to go downstairs.

She stepped out the bathroom and looked down the stairs, where everyone was. She took a huge breath, and started her way down. She felt like a princess, going down the swirling stairs, but she probably looked nothing like one. Soon she was downstairs, and the only person she recognized was Wyatt, though he probably wanted to be left alone by her- because they're going to spend most of their free time with each other soon. She saw a beautiful, but spunky woman- She thought she heard her name was Belle? A blonde girl, and back haired boy, who looked very friendly. Two blonde haired guys, one who was smoking, and the other one was helping Belle. She finally decided to speak up when they were talking about eating out, and maybe shopping. "B-Bonjour.. May I please come to dinner with all of you?" Cecile spoke in a quiet, shaky voice, because she was never good with huge crowds. She stood there awkwardly, right beside the stairwell, smiling- And hoping they didn't think she was a complete weirdo.

Female Day: Belle
Image
Dialogue | #BDA0CB
Thought | #87CEFA

Belle wasn't unused to people ignoring her large and loud splays of excitement, and especially wasn't concerned when she wasn't met with the utmost of enthusiasm when she came bursting into the apartment like the baton tosser of the parade after what was surely, for most of them, a long, draining day. She would have to admit, now that her feet were out of those nasty heels and she had her sock-covered toes sinking into what felt like a carpet suited for sleeping on, she didn't really as energized as she had when she first arrived. Of course, she was still as bright as ever. It took a lot to push that down. She was either up or she was down, but she knew when it was time to relax. Usually, anyway. She'd give the poor people a day before she hounded them into action.

She sized up the man who introduced himself as her roommate (took him long enough), finding calm in his lax exterior. Contary to popular belief, Belle preferred the relaxed types, those with lesser levels of energy than her own. Those who were bouncing off the walls all the time grew boring in length doses. The calmer, quieter types were easier to handle, and tended to be much easier to drag along, rather than they wanting to drag her along. She would much rather have people follow her plans than have to drag along after someone else.

Just when Belle was deciding on opting out on the ever-so-exciting activity of venturing to the grocery store, of all places in all of Paris to go, her thoughts were cut short just as one other seemed to read her mind. Her thoughts, as the man turned his attention to her--as was bound to happen to anyone within the vicinity eventually--simply fell flat, as the words rolled out just as so, "Oui, Belle. What a charmer." It wasn't as true, but she enjoyed the extra attention, so she couldn't complain. I can see there are some who need an eye kept on them.

"Numbers, is it? As good an idea as ever," she agreed. Seeing such a phone slipping from the pocket of Basile's pants, Belle took it upon herself to snatch it up without a care for privacy, slipping it open and putting in her number. It was under the name Cyrille followed by two hearts, a star, and a happy emoticon. After handing the phone back to him, she turned to the others, clasping her hands together. "I have to agree with these boys on takeout. It's late and we're young! I vote on takeout, showers, and then getting our pretty butts into bed. We all have a big day tomorrow, don't we?" Naturally, every day was a big day when Miss Belle was involved.

Adrian handled the situation that was Basile as he would handle any other, very badly. On the outside his facial expression didnโ€™t move but his thoughts were running for a proper response to such a brash statement. However he soon realized that a man like that wouldnโ€™t take no for an answer and so opted to stay silent with a noncommittal shrug.

He turned his attention toward Belle, but having not received a response to his earlier question he assumed she already unpacked her things, and so instead followed Adeline up to where she and Erza shared a room. Although just as quickly as ran up the stairs she turned the conversation around to aesthetics and potential creepers.

It was amusing to see such a hyperactive person, but at the same time he didnโ€™t think he would be able to share a room with her for a year. Exciting is nice, but exhaustion isnโ€™t.

โ€œIโ€™m sure weโ€™ll be fine,โ€ he stated as he began his descend downstairs, โ€œBesides attackers target people who are secluded, not groups.โ€ He had no concrete facts, but common sense dictated that a person would be stupid to attack six people all by their self.

A voice behind him startled him and as he turned around he saw a man with dark blue hair and a dark complexion. He was interesting and the way he held himself showed just how uncomfortable he was. Despite using English in a French conversation almost everyone agreed and Adrian found it a bit odd that many of them knew three or more languages.

The man he remembered from the paper as Wyatt then suggested they all exchange phone numbers and so he did just that, first and foremost asking his room mate for theirs.

At the base of the staircase another voice joined the conversation and timidly she asked if she could join in for dinner. He didnโ€™t smite but a nod of his head and a response of, โ€œIt is an apartment dinner and you are a tenet arenโ€™t you?โ€ He might have come off as snarky, but his intentions were harmless and it was his own fault for not watching his intonations.

On terms of food however Basile suggested a Thai restaurant , American bistro, or French takeout. Adrian didnโ€™t have an opinion on food and so let the others take charge of that, however at the instruction of Belle who would prefer take out he quietly walked to his room and unpacked his laptop. With a silent frenzy he looked for a manilla folder and after what seemed to be forever he found it in his camera case. Quickly he unhooked his camera from his neck and began to scan the papers for the wifi password.

A week before he left for Oeurvre he requested a folder rather than an e-mail where he was given a key, a few papers about his parter and other tenets along with what the password to the wi-fi was.

With cold fingers he found the wifi name - โ€˜Sarrhail 301โ€™ - and typed โ€œBeauxArtsโ€ for access to the world wide web.

He brought it out to the living room where everyone was still conversing and sat down on the couch where he then googled for, โ€œBenji take out menu.โ€ Adrian set the laptop down on the coffee table and waved his room mate over along with anyone else who would care for take out.

โ€œIโ€™m guessing we could walk to pick it up, or have it delivered here,โ€ he looked toward Basile in a silent question asking how far it was,โ€Either way hereโ€™s the menu if you would care to look at it.โ€

Choon-Hee's nervousness dissipated in response to Vincent's colloquial greeting. Formalities always felt strange to her - there is a certain forced awkwardness about them, especially when speaking in a foreign tongue. Vincentโ€™s casual reply felt more natural and fluid, just like the French the young photographer had dreamed of hearing firsthand. While she had been successful in the multiple French classes she had taken at home, speaking and understanding French in a classroom was extremely different from interacting with a native speaker. Her mind spun with ways on how to properly respond to his question.

Like a whirlwind, the emotions of the day's adventure came flooding back. Uncertainty on the flight, amazement walking around the city, inspiration from the photogenic surroundings and its inhabitants; everything was so new and exciting. "Surreal," Choon-Hee mused in response, a noticeable accent woven in the word, "I can't believe I'm actually in Paris." The young photographer beamed at her roommate, a wide smile plastered to her face in her joy. She waited patiently while Vincent finished unpacking, and then stared uncertainly at his outstretched hand. Remembering that it was a western custom to shake hands, she tentatively took his hand and shook it.

"You're a photography major right? I think I met a few of you on the way here."

A smile returned to the young womanโ€™s lips. "Yes, I am a photography major! That is cool that you met some more photographers on the way here. I canโ€™t wait to meet them when classes start." She gently let go of his hand and then proceeded to unpack her duffle bag in search of her laptop. Once she had located it, she then began to hook up her camera in order to save the dayโ€™s work. Looking back at Vincent she began to wonder how they would begin to create their final project. "You're a music major correct? What type of music do you work with the most?โ€

Dear ENSBA Transfer Program students,

Due to unforeseen complications, Adeline Baudin has been dropped from the program. A new local student has been presented the opportunity to fill her vacancy and will be moving into the Rรฉsidence Sarrhail promptly. Please welcome them with open arms and an open mind.

Sincerely,

Dane Virginie

They heard him out, which was all that mattered to Wyatt really. He was too tired for niceties and polite talk; not that he'd ever been partial to either, but he usually at least tried to show decent manners. At the very least, he was coming off a lot nicer than Mr. Cool here, finding the blond's response to Cรจcile rather curt. It wasn't really his problem, so he chose to ignore it in favor of putting down his bag and portfolio down on the couch again. It felt odd to leave in the midst of the conversation, especially since he'd been the one to insist they all exchange phone numbers.

He handed his roommate his own phone as she came near, already set-up for a new contact. "Just type in your info and then send yourself a text or missed call." He kept an ear on the conversation, and approached the monitor when the blond had motioned them over, but quickly gave up as he skimmed the menu. It wasn't that he didn't understand any of it; he just didn't know what any of the food contain. His own family had been more partial to Asian cuisine so naturally, his knowledge when it came to food extended to what he'd grown up on.

When the choice between takeout and delivery came, Wyatt didn't hesitate to give his opinion. "Delivery's more practical; there are eight of us so carrying the food would be troublesome to those going. Not to mention we can offset the delivery cost as it is." Quite frankly, he simply wasn't up for trying to decipher a map on where this Benji place was. He didn't doubt that if they made them go pick it up, the task would fall on Sir Suave here and one other person.

Long fingers took back his phone as Cecile finished, handing the thin black device to Adrian. He could figure out how to add himself his contacts, right? "Same drill. Feel free to have it leave a missed call so you have mine."

When his company turned to silence as the mulled over their options or punched in numbers, his focused turned to the larget set of windows that lined one of the walls. Dark blue eyes looked to the darkening sky outside, a hint of dismay evident. He'd been looking forward to exploring the nearby area, but he supposed he was tired and jetlagged from his journey.

"So, are we having Benji's?"

mac#FDBD72 - THOUGHTS

"The person who was originally supposed to participate had to leave. Do you think you'll be able to take their place on such short notice?"

"Of course! Merci madame, I'll start packing now. Good day to you." The line went dead as Dane Virginie hung up, and Livie could only jump excitedly in place at the news. She actually got into the program. She really did. Of course, she hoped nothing bad had happened to the original participant, but quite frankly, her happiness at being given the chance overshadowed any feelings of concern. The news was well-received by her mothers, who made noises about missing her, to which she simply laughed and gave them an affectionate hug.

"Oh don't worry Mama; we live in Paris so it won't be difficult to make time to visit." Truth be told, she actually had no need for the apartment provided with the program, which was likely a factor as to why she didn't make the initial cut. But there was no use worrying over details such as those. "Now help me pack! I'll need all the help I can get if I'm to make it by dinner."

Rather than bring all her things, her birth mother decided it would be easier to drop off majority of her things tomorrow on her way to work. That was how she only wound up bringing a large backpack to Rรฉsidence Sarrhail, letting her have the pleasure of time. She'd have arrived earlier but then she'd decided to take a small... okay, large detour. Was she to blame that there was a beautiful garden right next to their apartment building? It was the perfect place to hunt materials for next project.

Which would explain that by the time she stepped into Room 301, she looked liked she'd crawled through dirt, with leaves stuck in her long blonde hair and a sizeable pile of twigs nestled in her arms. Next to her less than charming appearance, her trademark smile seemed blindingly bright.

"Hello everyone!" Making herself right at home, she placed her haul on the coffee table next to Adrian's laptop, uncaring of the dirt she was possibly bringing in. "Adeline Baudin had to drop out of the program due to some family circumstances, so I'll be the one to take her place."

"I'm Livie Brisbois, a multi- oh!" Golden eyes lit up in recognition at the sight of the ginger. She practically launched her small form at him, nearly toppling the both of them over if Basile weren't used to her antics by now. The French she spoke was fast and excitable, practically gibberish to those who weren't used to the language. "Basile! I actually got into the program. Aren't you happy for me? I was so heartbroken when I got the news that I wasn't chosen."

After finally letting go of her deathhold on the taller male (and probably accidentally rubbing some of her filth onto him), she finally addressed the rest of the group, continuing to speak in her fast-paced French.. "Who's my partner? I got so excited that I didn't even read the letter yet and just asked Madame Virginie about the address."

While the tenets were discussing over the plan, Erza was in the middle of fixing up her room. It was now half empty due to her partner's sudden need to leave the program which left Erza feeling rather... sad. 'Well thats disappointing...' She thought, 'Adeline was nice..' Sliding her bag under a nearby bed, she swiped her hands of any dust, before looking around at her now complete room (Or half of it.)

It appeared simple with a few ornaments here and there from home, but in one corner of the room, near the given desk was a large mic and a few other instruments that may have caused any music major to jump in glee- it was of their habitat.
Nodding in satisfactory, she made her way to the main room, wondering if the tenets were still laying out their plan only to spot an unfamiliar face. She blinked with concealed surprise.

"I'm Livie Brisbois, a multi- oh!"

The stranger now known as Livie was indeed a girl, and a rather eye catching one as well with bright hair and a bright demneor- it was hard not to notice her. Tilting her head, she continued to examine the girl, before being taken by surprise with her words, "Who's my partner? I got so excited that I didn't even read the letter yet and just asked Madame Virginie about the address."

Feeling a mix of excitment and confusion, she raised her hand in a brief wave, "Hello Ms.Brisbois, Im Erza.." A soft smile pulled at her lips, "Its nice to meet you partner."

While those words of greeting left her mouth, her mind was running with one question, 'how will things go now?'. With Adeline, she already resolved herself with being friends, but with her gone, she was curious if the same resolve will occur with Livie.. Was she nice? Would she like her? Would she leave? Basically, Erza was being cautious, but her free-spirited smile did not betray her- Erza was glad she was here. "If you like, ill help you put your bags into the room before we.." She paused, not really sure what they were planning to do as a group, "eat..?"
