Marcus caught up to The Captain just as the hot shells from his rifle hit the floor. Marcus had been quick, but the Captain was quicker, as usual. Marcus kept his pistol drawn and began scanning the tunnels as the Captain spoke to the others. The tunnel was dark, but Marcus' eyes began to adjust as he took in his surroundings. They were in a large tunnel, with a track running down the middle. There were several passages to the sides, leading off to different tunnels and stations. "Where the hell is Camper?" Marcus spun around, quickly looking for her, or at least a sign of her. Camper had disappeared, and had left no evidence of her departure.

Marcus walked over to The Cap, holstering his pistol. "Captain, my best guess is that Camper went down one of these side passages. Most likely unwillingly, Valerie was not one for desertion. But captive or not, Camper is now lost in an unknown network of tunnels." Marcus took one more look around, his eyes attempting to notice any small details. "You know, Cap... I could go look for her. Help you get the others back to camp, grabbing my pack, and coming back to these tunnels to find her. I could move quickly on my own, try and catch up with her, wherever she is." Marcus looked down for a moment, then back up towards the Captain."Or... I could wait until Girl Scout catches back up with the group. Gives us time to plan... and it's less risky." Marcus looked as if the words left a bitter taste in his mouth, the idea of leaving someone behind very unappealing. "Your call, Cap."

A Pagan In The House of Hades...

Jason laid there, on his stomach, motionless. His weapon slung on his back, his heart pounding in his chest. He had been looking for supplies for quiet some time now, on the surface but he knew better. He found some things but not what he needed. Jason needed fuel. He had arrived here a few days back in hopes of finding diesel fuel for that monster of vehicle that he so endearingly called Erika. Without that, he was stuck here, and to get it he knew he would have to get out of his comfort zone. He had observed a small group the day before and he followed them to the tunnels but ceased his pursuit at the entrance to avoid a panic attack. He suspected that they had fuel and he was not going to trade for it, he didn't have anything to trade. He couldn't go in there... He couldn't go in there...but he had to. And there he was, barely making it.

He swallowed the spit in his mouth, whipped the sweat of his head and ventured onward. And onward...And Onward. His heart accelerated, his breathe became shallow, his mouth dry. I'm not lost...I'm not lost....please God for once help me... He told himself in his head. He was on the verge of breaking and then he begun to spot the signs of people. Trash...clothes...and other such items. He followed this trail stopping at times to calm himself and other times to scavenge some items he considered interesting. And then...gunshots...and not too far by the sounds of it. He was startled half to death, stopped dead in is tracks and dropped to the ground. He nervously looked over his shoulder then removed the sweat off his brow. Maybe I should head back.... He played with this thought for a little bit but then he had an unusually bold idea.

Jason unslunged the carbine and adjusted the collapsible stock, loaded it and chambered a round. He could use this "Fuck.", he cursed allowed. "Here we go again.". Hoping that the conflict up ahead would silence his movement, he hastened his pace and rushed forward, his rifle at the high ready. It wasn't too far up that he found the remains of a small camp. There wasn't anyone there but their belongings had been there. Jason looked through them quickly and without shame. Times were tough and who could hate a thief who stole in order to survive? "Where is it...Cmon... Cmon...Shit..".

The survivors down here had some food and water, which he took , batteries, also claimed, and some other items he didn't find too interesting but they did not have anything even close to fuel. Jason had taken a gamble, ventured into these dark and uncharted tunnels for fuel and he had come up empty handed. "Just stay calm...you can get out...your not trapped...your not alone...your not alone...", He told himself. "Don't cower in fear...your gonna be fine...".

It took some a little bit to collect himself but he got up got his rifle and searched around a bit more. This 2nd search paid off, Jason found something he had overlooked. With the flashlight from his rifle, he read what appeared to be a map of the tunnels. Jason actually felt a little bit of hope in him. He set down his Rucksack in a corner and grabbed what appeared to be a very filthy blanket. He covered himself and the map to dim the light in case anyone was coming back and he attempted to chart an escape. There was one marked on the map and his current location was also marked already by the tunnels were like interlocking webs. "Nothings ever easy anymore.", he muttered to himself and collected his things, placing the map in his pocket and continued to walk in the direction he believed would take him to the exit. He still recalled that there was a firefight somewhere in these tunnels and so he kept his rifle ready, hoping he wouldn't have to but ready to take a life should he need to.

"Slice"

“Yes sir.” Conner replied as the Captain barked out the order. Though, he was not really thrilled with the idea of just the two of them being left to guard the whole camp on their own. Conner immediately went to the collapsed wall in the station where he had driven the truck in as he knew that would be the prime location for breaking in to their camp. It looked like Duchess was patrolling between tunnel entrance and the main entrance to the station. That was one of her more admirable qualities; she wasn’t much of a talker. He knew she came from the wealthy side before the great fall, but he didn’t care about that too much, now it was all about just surviving. It was no longer a battle of classes, it was all about humanity prevailing in the face of adversity.

He pulled down his goggles and set them to thermal vision; if anyone or anything was planning an ambush, he’d see it coming. He had his sword drawn in his right hand and ready to go. Something about this whole thing felt ominous, like something was trying to divide the group so they could pillage their supplies. All the more reason he was not happy being one of the last ones on the surface. He was glad that he had the security system set up on his truck, though. Even if they did manage to kill him and the rest, and managed to get into the truck, the automated booby traps would take out who ever or whatever tried to get into his truck before he deactivated the security.

He scanned the area. There was nothing out in the darkness but a few small animals not even big enough to hunt. The sounds echoing up from the tunnels were less than encouraging, however, but he wasn’t about to go down there.
“You got anything over there, Duchess?” He called, more to break the eerie silence than because he was actually worried.

Valerie woke up when a couple droplets of water splashed on her forehead and she sat up quickly in surprise, breathing in a quick, sharp breath. It took her almost no time at all to spot the thing infront of her, although her goggles where stuck on thermal, and she remembered what happened before she was hit on the head. They had gone through the tunnels and been attacked, when she moved out of the way she had stupidly not checked before falling down a hole and pretty much into the arms of the things that had been shooting at her group. He also was shaped strangely, like a human but there was something different that she couldnt put her finger on.

Speaking of them, when she tried to change the setting on her goggles Valerie learned that her hands were tied to something behind her. It felt like something metal, and the things that had her tied seemed to be some sort of leathery material, although it was also old and grimy. She moved a little so she could lower her head to her knees, shifting her goggles to change the setting, she was starting to feel a little sit at not knowing what everything looked like. When it was done she looked up to see the thing's red hair, blind eyes, and its metaphorical trophy for being the ugliest mug to have ever been seen. She could also tell that he knew that she was awake, and probably attempting to escape somehow.

Trigger was vaguely aware of when the Captain and Nomad arrived to aid them. It was no more than a flash of movement in her periphery. She was actually about to point one of her guns in their direction when a brief flash allowed her to see their facial features. Without more than a small, sadistic grin she turned her attention back to the sewer rats as she had grown fond of calling them. Shooting them over and over in the same general area. When the fighting finally came to an end Trig had to shake her head multiple times until the blood roaring in her ears subsided. When her bloodlust cooled she turned her head to listen to the Captain. He was asking if any of them were injured and she was about to say no when she suddenly felt a sharp pain in her shoulder. She looked down to realize that she had been shot during the fight, she was so caught up in ending their lives that she hadn't noticed how close they had come to ending hers.

The blood could clearly be seen, even through her shirt and jacket and it was flowing down her exposed stomach. She raised her right hand "Just a little cut over here sir." Looking towards Stylus she said "Think you can patch me up once we get back to camp, this is my shooting arm." Truth is they were both her shooting arms but she needed them both for her style of combat to be effective. She made her way around the medic and the robot and stood over the rat Captain had shot in the side of the head. He was making quite a lot of noise and she had half a mind to shut him up herself but the Captain had kept him alive for a reason, they needed to find out what had happened to Camper.

"Camper was standing beside me during the fight sir and then she just, vanished. One minute she was there and then the next, nothing. I tried calling her but she never answered me. That girl was cool under fire so either they snatched her while the rest of us were distracted or she fell. There are holes all over this place and the foundation isn't very sturdy so it's pretty likely that she didn't see where she was and fell into one of these holes." She nudged the still screaming rat with her foot, "Think he'll talk?"

The road raced under Katy as she drove down to the old city, she was still far out but it wouldn't be more than twenty minutes.
The country side was lovely, Humanity gone for the most part did earth wonders. What residential buildings were still standing were slowly being dragged down by creeper vines or poison ivy that had gone unchecked for years. Trees had sprung up, forcing their way through the stone covered landscape. This created a strange effect, much like the mountain homes in Afghanistan the once out of place pentagon silhouettes of homes were swallowed by the woods, only now defined by windows and the spars bit of paint that contrasted the otherwise natural pallet of the land.

It was a suburban area that she was riding through, or had been at one point. Her mind however was else where.
IN her mind she was replaying the events of forty minutes ago. Had she shot the child , or was it the car rolling over that had killed the kid... Katy' mind pictured her self sitting in the van..

Her husband sitting next to her yammering on about something that no longer existed, something his father had told him about.
There was a loud crash as the front of the dash board exploded in shards and powdered glass, The man, he husband was reduced to a torso pushing the peddles, and warm dead hands clutching the steering wheel. They didn't even have time to understand what was happening before the second round came, ending her life as well in a similarly gruesome manner. The weight from the mans hands would cause the car to roll over and start the rolling over of the car.

Katy thought more on the car it's self. She remembered there being two seats in the back, the bits of gore and what not had either come from the parents or she had grazed the kid. No, if she had even grazed the kid they would have died in the back of the car, it would have caused to much trauma and hydro shock wouldn't allowed their body to function correctly. They would have seized up in the back and drowned in their own blood... Part of Katy wanted to go back and see what had killed the kid then. It could have been shrapnel flung by the anti material round, bracketing off causing fragmentation behind the first two bodies.
That would explain how they managed to crawl out of the van... Tho the odds of something rolling around with the them and impaling them was more likely.

'Yeah, I didn't kill that one....'

She nodded to her self a little, following the convoys trail, she was close now, only a couple minutes away. A couple minutes away from Camper and the Captain.

The cyborg doctor made do for her current wound by extending the hydraulic system set in the forearm and wrist to reach the wounded shin with an outstretched arm. With her cybernetic hand, she covered and clamped the wound to prevent the blood loss. That should hold her until the team heads back to camp, where the better lighting would allow her to practice with efficiency.

With news of the missing comrade, Stylus couldn’t help but wonder what move the Captain would make. Would they begin a rescue operation immediately? Would the doctor have a chance to patch herself up?

The questions only became more complicated when Stylus was informed by the gunslinger that she wasn’t the only one to receive an injury during the skirmish. It turned out Trigger had been hit as well. Judging by the blood that was visible even in the dark, it was actually quite serious. “Patch you up?” Stylus spattered like a worried mother, “Trigger, that’s not just a cut. You’re gonna bleed out from that if we don’t get you back to camp!”

Truth be told, Freya was relieved that it was the Captain going down into the tunnels and not her. The woman didn't consider herself a dedicated combatant first and foremost, and the idea of being caught in a gunfight in darkness didn't appeal to her one bit. She watched as Conner drew his sword and take up position near the hole in the wall. What he intended to accomplish with a close combat weapon in the event of an ambush Freya had no idea, but if he got shot because of it then it was his problem, not hers. She made a half-hearted attempt at patrolling the camp but she quickly gave up on the idea and instead went over to her dune buggy and opened the side door. However, instead of getting inside the vehicle she checked behind the driver's seat where her robot was, nestled in its interface that allowed it to control the top-mounted turret. She rapped her knuckles against its plating to "wake it up" for lack of a better term when Slice asked what she was up to.

"Getting someone to help us hold the fort," she answered as the turret blinked into life and began a sensor sweep of the immediate area for any hostiles. With that job out of the way, Freya got into her vehicle to monitor the sensor displays. Perhaps she'd even spot the scouts as they returned to the camp.

With help from the map and the batteries in his flash light, Jason navigated the tunnels with much more ease. Having a clue of where he was going,  that you were not lost, calmed him. He went on cautiously however and kept his guard up. There was a lot more things down there, too many for just a small camp like the one he came across to account for. There was more down here than just a few survivors and Jason didn't want to figure out. The gunshots he heard before were still in his mind, he still proceeded with caution, watching his every step and the path before him , as well as behind him. The last thing he needed was to get shot in a miserable smelling place as these tunnels.

As he went on there was a point where he could hear other voices. He could not make out what they saying or where they came from but he was sure they were from people, that he wasn't going insane hearing things. Jason assumed that these were the voices of those Survivors he heard fighting not too long ago and decided to continue quietly. He had no clue where they were but if he could hear them maybe they could hear him and they, having just finished with whatever skirmish, may be still be in "shoot first loot later " mode. As silently as he could, Jason moved on stopping only to look over his shoulder and navigate the tangled Web of tunnels with the makeshift map.

Eventually, after some time of wandering in dark, he eventually came across a stream. He took a knee, checked the map looked to see if he was on course to the surface, and then filled up his canteens. There was a possibility that this water was filthy but that didn't matter to Jason. He was used to drinking filthy water, and even if it was clean,  his shitty immune system would let him down one way or another.

"Just a little more.". He told himself and arose to continue. A ways from where he found this stream of water, He found stairs that led up.

"This must be the exit I'm looking for.". He said and did not think twice about what was up there. No longer concerned with noise discipline,  he walked right up the old rickety, damaged stairs, unknowingly heading to the guarded camp of the very people he had avoided in the tunnels.

"Alright, on your feet!" The captain yanked the filthy blood stained tunnel rat to his feet by the collar. The man wailed and whimpered still grasping at the place where his ear had been, The captain grabbed one of his blood spattered wrists and yanked it behind his back followed by the other. "You're coming with us to answer a few questions about where my comrade is and exactly how many of you cretins are down here."

The captain growled threateningly into the man's good ear as he tied his hands behind his back. Aside from the constant wailing the man made no sign to show he heard, understood, or cared about the Captain's threat. Captain didn't care, the man would grow to fear them in the end. He wadded up a peice of scrap cloth that he tore from the man's own clothing and stuffed it in his mouth to shut him up. "Hey, doc, he won't bleed out on us from the ear will he?" He called over his shoulder then he turned to answer Marcus' inquiry. "We're going back up. Too many wounded to go splitting up again and I want to learn all I can from this cretin about where Camper might be. I want all of you who don't need patching up to grab a meal and check supplies for torches and the like. It's getting dark soon and those tunnels will be pitch black, anyone with enhanced sight is going with us as soon as I get a peep from this guy."

It was just as the group reached the stairs up that Captain heard movement. He stopped the group and signaled for absolute silence. He flattened against the wall forcing the captive to stay with the group and crept over to grab a look at the man that was ascending towards their camp. "Marcus. Knock the guy out he looks like a scavenger from the surface." Christ threats are popping up everywhere all the sudden....maybe I made a mistake bringing the group here.

Meanwhile in Camper's cell, the awful looking man had gotten to his feet. He was tall and thin but somehow a threatening aura manage to emit from his rickety frame as he drew a curved knife from his belt. The filthy blade glinted weakly in the dim glow of backup lighting. He ran his knotted, scarred fingers over the flat of the blade, eyeing Camper with a filthy glare, drinking her image in with his strange clouded eyes. "You're a beautiful girl, you know. I don't often have a beautiful girls visit me here. Usually it's filthy men. That's alright though.....I will only enjoy carving you out more....if you don't tell me what I want to know."

He approached Camper and crouched until he was face to face with her. His cat claw sharp knife scraped across the skin of her brow and down the side of her face to her jawline, his rancid breath blowing into her face with every steady breath he took. "How man of your people are there?"

Leylla finished skinning the animal she recently caught. The animals are getting more cautious., sooner or later she would have to move to another hunting ground and leave the animals at peace for a few months. She proceeds to debone the animal carefully, leaving the bone on the legs, stowing the rest of the meat in a small plastic pouch. She placed the skin in a makeshift bucket with a strong smelling, yellow solution. That should set the skin, she could make another leather patch with it once it's finished. She chuckled, she knew saving piss would come in handy.

There was the sound of tires crunching on rocks and the hum of an engine from the distance. Leylla's ears strained to hear more sounds. She stayed low and hidden behind the foliage, you never know if they're fast on their feet and start attacking before asking questions. She peeked out the small openings to see a bike closing in from the distance. The person riding it seems to be following a trail.

'Transportation, she may be part of a group,' She turned around and swiftly started packing away her supplies. 'I can ask her to guide me to another hunting ground, then i can leave.'

Grabbing the bloody legs, she packed everything into her motorcycle and drove after her. As she gets nearer, Leyla chucks one of the legs at the bike hoping that she would slow down enough to hear her.

"Do you mind if i follow you to the next hunting ground? I would appreciate it if you don't attack." Leylla accelerates to catch up. "I'll bail once i'm there, I just need to move to the next grounds."

'Almost home...' She sighed happily at the thought of sprawling out by the cook fire.... and being able to get out of her Combat gear. The armor was comfortable enough and did it's job well but as someone who didn't enjoy fabric the armor was just that much more irritating. She was settled into the ride when something in her ticked. She turned her head to see a animal leg being hurled at her.

' What the shit!'

She avoided the dismembered limb by swerving and drew her side arm, blind-firing over her shoulder at who every just chucked the leg at her.

' What kind of attack was that?'

She thought as her head rattled from the muzzle blast from the pistol, damn thing made her ears ring. The sound of the .45 going off echoed in the ruined city, odds are the camp would have heard it. Her teeth hurt with how loud the thing was just beside her ear.

'Mental note, find a better way to do that...'

She took a sharp turn away from the camp, now moving perpendicular a mile or two down from it, they might have heard to gunshots. She raced down the old street, nimbly avoiding cars as she tried to get some distance between the two of them. She'd turn and draw on who ever it was. after she was roughly out of sight she pulled off to an alleyway and picked up her battle rifle off the front of her motorcycle.

She moved quickly back to the mouth of the alley way and set up a hasty ambush, waiting for the Motorcycle to find her.
Her heart was pounding in her ears and neck, she could feel her pulse race against the confines of the armor. With both eyes open she gazed down the sight of her rifle, her eyes strained for anything, any movement what so ever.

'Breath, relax... ' She had to remind her self, she was getting to worked up and she knew it. ' control... You are in control here... ' She inhaled deeply and exhaled through her nose, slowing her heart rate bit by bit. She took a knee and rested her forearm against the building she was using as cover, to make a sort of human bipod to help her keep steady. The adrenaline and panic made the sight jump about but she felt more confident that she did five seconds ago.

“Hey, doc, he won’t bleed out on us from the ear will he?” The Captain inquired.

“Even if I took care of our own first,” Stylus replied as she flipped the safety of her pistol back on and slipped it back into the holster. She was confident the sad-sack wasn’t going to die anytime soon. Besides, Trigger’s wound was more severe, and the prisoner seemed to instinctively apply pressure to his own ear with a hand anyway. The prisoner wasn’t going to bleed out anytime soon; for that matter, neither was the doctor.

Stylus was about to step over to Trigger to bring her back to camp when the Captain signalled for silence. The cyborg doctor hugged the wall opposite from the Captain’s position, and she quickly reached for her pistol once more.

More? Come on, I’ve just been shot! Stylus tried to steady her breathing as she mentally checked off the things she needed to do. Unclip holster, pull out gun, flip safety off, don’t pull the trigger unless I want the thing dead.

Valerie looked the man/thing up and down, soaking in all the detail that he could give her by just standing there in front of her. She didnt really know how she felt about one of the only compliments she's ever been given being followed by the mentioning of carving her. For now it was just unsettling, given the situation she is in at the moment and also the fact this really was one of the only compliments she's gotten.
Really, I need to work on that or something
she thought as she raised her eyebrows, "What the fuck is his problem anyways?". As he got closer she could smell him and his rancid breath, pretty sure it could peel paint off of one of the cars if he tried hard enough. She was able to get a good look at him, after sliding the goggles against her shoulder quickly to normal, nasty teeth and filth along with everything else.

Not really one to enjoy having people be in her space, Valerie scowled at him and her eyes watched the knife slide down her skin. It was actually fairly soft and cautious, not actually breaking the skin. The threat still made her grow cold and she swore she could feel her stomach jump right up into her mouth. Her colleagues and her had been shot at, she was kidnapped by the same damn things that had shot at her, and now this jackass was holding a knife and telling her to give away info about people she was able to stand. Curling one side of her mouth in a hated sneer and gently moved her face away from his knife. Quickly she lifted her leg as hard as she possibly could up and towards where the things crouch should be. Val kept her eye on the knife and used her foot to step down on his hand to take it away from him if she could.

Leylla drove to the left to avoid the incoming bullet just to be safe; whoever's on that bike has a formidable shooting arm, but shooting so close to her ear must have disoriented her. It was probably a warning shot; It was shot without aiming that she didn't really need to drive away She continued to tail them, and blinked as they rounded the corner.

Determined, Leylla slowed down and reached over to the long strips of cloths. It would be risky but this wouldn't be the first time she used this maneuver. Tying two of the strips on the handle that can be tightened and loosened by pulling one end and the other respectively. Holding both strips in one hand like a rein to a horse, Leylla leaned back and groped around for a clamp, which once found is attached to the throttle with it's handle pointing towards her. She grabbed the folded tarp and bit it.

Taking a deep breathe, Leylla lifted her leg up and placed it on the seat doing the same with the other on the motorcycle. She positioned her body into a crouch and and tied the strip of cloth behind her on a metal rod to keep the vehicle steady. Leylla raised herself herself to a tentative fighting stance, centering herself. She placed a foot on the seat of the sidecar and applied pressure downwards on the clamps handle. She quickly looked around the sidecar for a tarp as she approaches the alley way. Leylla flicked the clamp handle up to ease the speed down. Finding the tarp she flicked it out like a matador's muleta in front of her. She spread out the tarp, taking care to unravel as much of it as she can on time.

As she neared the entrance to the alley, Leylla crouched down and jumped as the mouth of the alley appears. She used the tarp as a net of sorts to trap the mystery person under and to give her time to talk. Leylla used her feet and arms to keep the person's arms and legs pinned. Sitting on their shoulder blade area., she wiggled her face to get her hair out of the way.

"Look, I'm sorry that I'm doing this, but I really do need your help to get to the next hunting ground. I just want an escort and the knowledge that you won't shoot me as I follow you. That's all, really. Once that's done I'll go." Leylla said all this in a quick yet legible manner. She remained in her current position until the person under her gives the signal that she won't shoot.

Conner heard the shifting of rocks coming from the tunnels. He hoped that it was the group returning. “Hey Duchess, did you hear that? I think someone’s coming up through the tunnel.” He walked over really quietly and stood next to the entrance, his sword drawn and ready. He heard a group and an individual judging by the footsteps he heard. He heard the group stop while the individual continued to come closer. He signaled for Duchess to train the turret on the entrance. A few seconds later he saw the figure coming up the stairs and he emerged from the subway stairs. As the guy carelessly walked by, Conner swung his sward bringing it just inches from his neck. “Who are you and why are you here? And you better talk fast, or my friend over there is gonna put more holes in you than Swiss cheese.”

Meanwhile, off in the distance, he heard the sounds of two engines, one was a motorcycle, but he couldn't tell what the other one was. He knew that Girl scout would soon be here and there would be backup if they needed it. He also figured the group was the people who had gone down earlier. This guy didn't stand a chance if he thought he was gonna raid the camp.

Freya continued to monitor the radar display while the turret did lookout duty on her behalf. Two blips came into range. Looked like their scout was being tailed by someone. Hopefully shouldn't be too much trouble; they knew how to look after themselves. The woman looked up just in time to see an unknown outsider literally walk right into their camp. While the stranger was being held at sword-point, Freya's robot wasted no time in priming the machine gun in case this individual turned out to be hostile.

As the sounds of the distant vehicles' engines could be heard, Conner started giving out the usual interrogation, although Freya couldn't help but roll her eyes in an irritated manner at that "Swiss cheese" line. Seriously, the man had a plasma sword and an auto-turret pointed at him. Threats were rather superfluous at this point, Freya thought. Still, was this guy working alone, or were there others around?
