Kutaki Shinu

"The drums are my life, they're like a heart, but one you can control."

0 · 690 views · located in Sorugami High School

a character in “Oh, What a Wonderful Life it Is!”, originally authored by Fredalice, as played by RolePlayGateway

Description

Name: Kutaki Shinu
Age: 17
Gender:
Grade: 11th
Appearance: Image
Kutaki has short spiky hair that is dyed lighter on the top. She has very feminine sky blue eyes that are typically hidden by her hair. Her style is very laid back and cool; large headphones that can be seen around her neck all the time, a black t-shirt with band names, overly large jeans and converse shoes that are barely tied on. She hardly ever wears what she dubs as "girl clothes" so you know something big is happening if she's wearing a skirt or dress.

Sexuality: Heterosexual
Clubs: Music Club and Language Club
Schedule: Schedule 2

Bio: She has never met her father and honestly doesn't care. Her mother works at a local inn. Kutaki had grown up at that inn, everybody who works there are her family. There were people that work there from almost all across the world and that is how Kutaki gained her interest of languages and her talent at it. One of the maids played the piano and taught Kutaki how to, where she quickly found her love of music. When she was in elementary school she learned how to play the violin as her grandma hoped she would play a "proper" instrument. In middle school she started playing the drums, which are her true love much to her mom's amusement and her grandmother's dismay.

She is now looking for band mates. Her mother and a few other workers joke that they would be the band and if she doesn't get one together this year she might just take them up on their offer, even if they did say it just as a joke. After high school she is planning on moving to the city and hopefully working as a DJ or something to that effect, though she would also love to be working full time as a drummer.

Personality: Kutaki is a bit in her head, she is constantly drumming on almost everything, listening to music. She is a bit of a loner, though not entirely by choice. She can get a bit over excited when talking about certain things; music, her plans for the future, and languages as well as other cultures. She prefers to be treated, not so much as "one of the guys", but it's much more preferable to being treated like a girl.

She isn't a very sports, or active, type person about the only active thing she does is skateboarding. She loves local shops, big name brands and companies are horrible to her. She is very down to earth and avoids drama like the plague, if a situation seems like it'll be more trouble than it's worth she usually bails. This is why she hasn't ever really dated too seriously or has overly close friends. Moments when she wants to be alone she usually disappears, no one but her mother knows where she goes she won't even go to school on those days. She is pretty smart; music, languages, and math are her best subjects, history being her worst; though even with this she only typically gets C's finding it too much trouble to shoot for A's. She is pretty sarcastic and sassy to people she just meets, not really sure why, but she just is. She has dubbed that anyone who can handle her crazy and her sass is ok in her book.

Kutaki is also very spontaneous and adventurous. If you say in between classes you want to skip the rest of school and go get ice cream she will gladly join. She likes to sneak out windows or sneak around places. She has a thing for horror; books, movies, even old abandoned places she finds fun exploring in.

Love Interest: TBA

Matthew and Felicity were riding on the bus from their aunt's house with Mira somewhere on the crowded bus. Of course, Matt picked the outside seat. He wanted to protect his sister, he couldn't let what happened to him happen to his sister. It was almost insane, the teasing he went through at his old school. All Matt wanted was to protect his sister, Felicity, from the bitter truth. That he would need to pay millions of dollars to get his face replaced. And he couldn't let that happen to his sister.

Felicity was writing in her notebook, on the other hand. She was oblivious to the world around her, like a child. Every so often, she would look out the window, but other than that, she was writing in her notebook she got from her from her parents before the twins left the USA. Matt had gotten a notebook as well, he only kept it in his suitcase, never taking it out except for today, when he put it in his backpack for note-taking. She had a feeling he was mad at their parents, but she didn't talk to him about it. She didn't want to make her brother mad at her.

Mira was a student from Finland. The twins didn't know much about her.

Kimi sits in the back of the bus, alone, as per her usual routine. It is the first day of high school for her. She wouldn't be going far, however, the middle school she attended is right next to her high school and she has been in the building many a time for some of her clubs and lunch periods. She fiddles nervously with the bow on the front of her uniform as she gazes out the window at the passing buildings and cars. Fixing her pink sweater, she stands as the bus comes to a stop. She exits the bus quietly and looks at a piece of paper she is holding which tells her the locker number and combination that is hers. She heads to the lockers and removes her shoes, putting on her school approved ones and sliding the others into the box. She also places her lunch bag into the box and closes it.
"First class is homeroom...room 103...guess I'd better go there then..." she quietly says to herself. As she begins to walk to her class, she gets bumped into by an upperclassman.
"Watch it, freak!" he yells as he continues to run down the hall.

Akihiko decides today he would jog to school. He needed to get his stamina up if he was going to do all the sports he was needed in this year. The coaches had asked him to join other sports teams because of his success in the ones he had participated in last year. This was great and all, and he couldn't say no, not with he scholarships on the line, but when would he have time for a social life. That was important in his high school life. This year, however, was the most important year. Junior year is when all the tests happen that will determine your graduation GPA and if you even get any scholarships. In any case, he ran off his worries as he started his journey to school.

When he arrived, Akihiko was greeted by the waves and voices of underclassmen girls.
"Oh! Good morning Aki-senpai!"
"Aki-senpai's here! He looks so cute!"
"I wonder if he has a girlfriend! Oh I wish I could be her!"
This was normal for him. Due to his success in sports, he was quite popular with the girls in school, mostly the underclassmen, as then looked up to him. Truth was, he didn't have a girlfriend, nor did he really want one, he didn't have the time. He continued on into the locker area of the school putting his shoes in the locker, switching them with his school shoes.
"Do I have time to run to the locker room for a shower?" he thought to himself. He shrugged closing his locker and began briskly walking to the locker room. There were 15 minutes until homeroom and he knew where he was going. He had time. On his walk, he heard a boy yelling behind him.
"Watch it, freak!" He then felt a bump on his shoulder. The boy turned to him.
"Get out of my-" the boy's eyes grew wide, "O-oh! Akihiko-senpai! S-Sorry I didn't know that was you! Oh man! Please forgive me! I'm so s-sorry![/b]" The boy bows frantically as if he just scratched the shoes of a superstar. Akihiko puts his hands in his pockets.
"S'fine. Just don't go blaming other people when it's you causing the trouble..." Akihiko entered the locker room, hearing the boy's reply from behind him.
"Y-Yes, senpai! Sorry, senpai!"
Akihiko hops into the shower to wash off the sweat from his morning jog/run before he heads to class.

Kutaki ran around, grabbing books from where they were randomly strewn and shoving them into her backpack, an apple clenched in her mouth. She was half-dressed, much to her mother's dismay; she still wore her pajama bottoms and slippers and her hair was more floppy and hanging in her eyes rather than it's usual stylized spiky shape.

"Weren't you supposed to have all this ready last night?!" her mom called after her as she ran passed her in one of the halls.

"Yeah I know! I'm going to miss the bus otherwise!" Kutaki answered looking over her shoulder and nearly running into one of the customers, nearly. Thankfully most people who were staying there knew that Kutaki and her mother lived there as well and instead of getting angry, he just called to her.

"Have a good day at school!"

"Thanks Mr. Suo!" Kutaki yelled. Kutaki quickly ran into a small back room area; there was a tv by the corner and a small table on the other side and two doors leading into Mrs. Shinu's and Kutaki's rooms. The young teenage girl finished getting read, taking another bite of apples before running out of the small inn while still pulling on her shoes. The bus, she could see, was just pulling around the corner, which gave Kutaki plenty of time to make it to the bus stop.

The bus pulled in just as she was slipping on her last shoe and breathing frantically with her half eaten apple still securely in her mouth. The bus driver smiled at Kutaki, "Cutting it kind of close again are we?"

Kutaki took a bite, regaining her composure and pulling her best 'too cool for you' expression, "Like I would do it any other way." The bus driver laughed and closed the door behind Kutaki. She took her usual seat near the front of the bus and quickly put her head phones on. She didn't pay much attention as the other students started climbing onto the bus. The music she was listening to was pounding a heavy beat, knocking out every other sound that might have come to her ears. Kutaki slumped in her seat, looking out the window, as she drummed along on her back-pack. School wasn't exactly her favorite thing to do, but she promised her mother she would at least graduate high school before starting her drumming career. So that's what she was doing; graduating high school.

The bus came to the school and Kutaki quickly jumped off moving with the beat of her music to the locker room where she switched out her shoes and then proceeded to head to her homeroom class. She didn't see any of her friends in the room so she just went to one of the window seats and plopped down, starting to drum on her desk.

Two blond twins came in. It was a rarity for Ling to see people who weren't Asian. Probably they were from North America.
She was listening to them introducing themselves in front of the class. However, the boy's burned mark dragged Ling's attention. It would be innapropriate to aks him about it, but this powerful curiosity started burning the black haired girl from the inside. She really wanted to know what was the story behind this. Was it an accident? Was it abuse? What was it? If Ling asked him almost immediately after they meet, she would probably lose him as a future friend. She didn't want this to happen with anyone, ever, especially on her first day. She had to find a way to control herself.

As she was trying to supress her curiosity, she was looking around the other students. She was wondering what each of them would be like. She started imagining different things.

Maybe Kaito was popular around the ladies because he attended many sports? Maybe Akihiko was fascinated by music and wanted to start a band? Probably Felicity and Matthew were exchange students from another country?

Later her imagination reached another level, as she started imagining Kutaki fighting aliens in order to save the love of her life, who was Felicity. Maybe Akihiko and Kaito were enemies, who would start fencing to death after the classes. And for God's sake, what was the story behind Matthew's mark?

Kaito ceased to pay attention as the teacher began to talk about rules and regulations of the school. Instead he began to chat with Hayato.

"Well, I'm doing great Katio."

"What did you even do? That is, other than just messing around."

"Well I..." Hayato took a moment to think.

"That's what I thought, knowing you, that's all you'd do when you get free time." Hayato shrugged and took a look around the classroom.

"Who do you think looks cute?"

"I don't know, why do you wanna know?"

"Oh? You like one of the guys then?" Kaito rolled his eyes and took a look at the girls in the classroom.

"Maybe that one." he said pointing to the Chinese girl. Hayato began laughing silently.

"Hey, maybe I should let her know?"

"Don't"

"Hey!" Hayato whispered at the girl. "Chinese girl! Hey!" Kaito grabbed his arm.

"I swear, if you continue, I'm gonna start calling you bird boy again. Remember how well that name stuck in middle school?" Hayato deflated in defeat.

"Fine"

"Now..." Kaito contunued. "...what class do you have next?"
