Setting
The end of Siron's domain, the Southern Coast is the closest point to the south pole of the planet, and thus the coldest place in Omega. While the geographic south pole is located a few miles out to sea, the solar and magnetic southern poles are both located within the Southern district.
Since the planet of Omega is on the "warm" edge of the Goldilocks zone within it's solar system, along with several other reasons, the chill from the southern regions dissipates within fifty miles of the pole.

The Southern Coast
A bitter wind blows constantly, and all those around you are wrapped in thick layers of fabric, to ward against the chill of this, the coldest part of Omega. Only here is it ever cold enough to snow, and snow it does. Ceaselessly, drifts are falling, managing to make even the haphazard houses of the shore look pretty. The ocean is frozen a good mile out, and it's strong enough to stand on the whole way. The South Pole of the planet is located here, somewhere among the buildings, but nobody has been able to locate it. Off in the distance, the world fades to white from the ceaseless blizzards.
