The warm afternoon sun cast a thousand glittering diamonds over the coastal front property of, X-caliber Studios just as the roar of a gas guzzling engine could be heard coming down the street. Coming to a halt, Derek Plunder killed the engine and put the kickstand down. Gazing at the posh ye functional, 7 story building that signed his paychecks, he lowered his shades. " Well this should be interesting...". He mused in a slight southern drawl. Breezing through the double glass door entrance, he was tall and broad shouldered, blessed with emerald green eyes, jet black hair, a handsome jaw and the physique of a man who was no stranger to the gym. Giving the cute secretary a quick wave and a wink, he reached the bay of elevators just as one opened. Stepping through, Derek glanced at his watch and realized he was due to meet his new co-star on the 4th floor...in two minutes. Clad in leather pants, a pair of riding boots and a clean white wife-beater stretched tightly over his solid torso, he looked cool yet casual.

"Nancy!" Scarlett scolded the secretary, after seeing her wave at that new guy. "The boss pays you to work, not flirt." She slammed casting roles on the desk. Her bright red hair in a tight bun, with her bangs tucked behind her ear. Slim, and fit, she wore a tighter black skirt going all the way to her knees, with a pair of red stilettos. A white button-down collared shirt, with ruffles around the buttons, covered her top, and she looked away from the man. Scarlett's sleek, black glasses matched the rest of her outfit perfectly, herself in whole did, actually, from her glasses to her well-pedicured finger and toenails. Scarlett looked strict, but, maybe if you took the time to get to know her, she was just a regular girl.

Katy Marie Sumpton was a young 17 year old, enjoying her senior year, soon to be 18. She is sitting where she always sits with her group of friends, and they discuss the teachers, either complaining about their workload, or what comical thing happened in class that day. They were at the front of the school, when something caught Katy's eye. It was a gorgeous car, zooming up to the driveway, a camaro, the newest kind. She stared at it with her friends, as the window rolled down, and the cutest boy was sitting there, and lifted his glasses up.

"Katy! Go talk to him!" "Go, Katy!" Her friends squealed as her heart stopped, and she saw the boy. She shyly blushed, and hid behind the books in her arms. Could he be looking at her?

Dawson was staring right at the girl he had liked since Freshman year. He lifted his shades to get a better view of her, and he pulled them back down. He opened the door to his Camaro, and he walked over to Katy, his leather jacket hugging him loosely. He pulled off his shades, and winked at her, "Hey there, Katy," he smiled brightly.

Katy's heart nearly bust.

"H-hey.. Dawson. " She smiled as he greeted her with a wink. "May I ask where you're going so soon after the bell has rung? Traffic seems to be pretty backed up right now in the parking lot.." She looked down briefly, then back up at him, hearing her friends giggle, and swoon behind her. "Or are you just riding around for fun?"

Dawson smirked down at her, "I was just looking for an excuse to come talk to you. So if riding around for fun counts, then yes, I was riding around for fun."

He wasn't sure if what he said made sense, so he looked around awkwardly, then his eyes settled back on Katy.

He looked at her for a moment, trying to decide what to say next, so he blurted out without even thinking, "Would you like to be my girlfriend?"

Of course, Dawson wanted more than anything to be able to call Katy his girlfriend, but she was smart, beautiful, classy, and shy, while Dawson, on the other hand, was just a popular guy with money and a nice car. She would never like a guy like him. It would be a bit hurtful, and embarrassing, to be rejected by Katy.

Katy's eyes grew huge, and she dropped her books, suddenly. Laughing nervously she looked at him. "Take me on date first?" All the girls behind her gasped, and all sighed in defeat, that it wasn't them.

The world seemed to stop. Dawson asking her? Dear lord.

Dawson frowned, expecting her to say no, "Oh, sorry for wasting your time- wait, what? I'm sorry, but is that a yes?"

Katy blushed brightly, and shooed her friends away, and took Dawson's hand, leading them to a nice little bench, under some trees, and looked him in the eyes. "Take me on a date first, and we'll see how it goes, alright?" She smiled, blushing still, and looked at his lips for the longest time, in a dreamy way. She suddenly snapped out of it, and sat up. "Sorry.. When you want me to be ready for our date?"

"Dawson?" She looked at him curiously as he seemed to blank out.

Dawson shook his head, being suddenly startled when Katy broke him from his thoughts. "Seven thirty, I'll pick you up at seven thirty," he leaned down, planting a kiss on her cheek, and he walked away, getting in his car, and he drove home.

"Great." She smiled, and then became a mad red when he kissed her cheek, and went to her car also, and sped off to her house, as it was already 4:30.

When she got home, she primped, and slid into a cherry red dress, that came to mid-thigh, and let her long hair loose, and put on makeup, and by the time she got all that done, she looked at the clock, it reading 7:00. She quickly texted Dawson directions via Facebook.
