Introduction

You wake up in a strange place, you can't remember anything but something tells you you're better off this way. And then you find a strange person is trailing you, offering you their 'help'. Do you take it? Can you trust them? Can you afford not to?

As you open your eyes to see bright sunlight, you realise you have no idea of where you are.
Of course, your brain tells you soon enough that you are in some sort of a great hall. A hall so large and high that you can't see its walls or ceiling no matter how much you try. You get up carefully and venture around the place, walking aimlessly, trying to understand where you are, not just your location, but some sort of recognition...
None is forthcoming.

You realise with some trepidation that its not just the hall, you can't even remember anything else. For example, how you ended up here, what you were doing before this or even who the hell you are.
Somehow, the only sensation you remember is that of falling down, down, down an endless dark hole.

As you stare at the darkness, a voice seems to whisper in your ears. You look around only to find you are alone.
The voice is calming, though. You can't tell if its male or female. Its not that its androgynous, its just that it feels as if you are sensing the voice, not hearing it.

"You are better off not knowing." it whispers in your ears. "Its better for you to not know."

And suddenly, you have the strangest feeling. Its as if someone is reaching out to you, waiting for you to take their hand. You don't know why or who - again, its more of a sensing than seeing.

"Come with me." it says. "I will make you forget. I will help you. Don't you want my help?"

Hey, I wonder what you will do now? What will you do?

Will you take the hand offered to you?
Will you try to run and see if you can escape the hall? What then?

You are whisked into a strange land, stranded without any memories. This decision might be the most important one you will ever make - the difference between life and death. And what's worse? You don't have a clue as to what you should do.

Ten will fall down the Rabbit Hole.
Ten will be guided to become that which is sought the most by the denizens of Wonderland.
Only one will become Alice.
Only one will go home.

Will you accept the challenge? Will you be the one to become Alice and go back where you belong? Or will you search for your memories despite being repeatedly warned not to? Will you endure the unknown, or will you risk the forgotten?

You will decide.
But then, do you really have a choice?

Plot:
Wonderland is more of a prison, under the dictatorial reign of the Queen of Hearts. Any and all dissenters are executed immediately.
There aren't any clear cut 'factions' in this RP. The residents of Wonderland are beings that can form a contract with a human and lend them certain powers. The terms of the contract are mostly up to the Chain (since really, the human beings are hopelessly lost and confused), but the apparent reason for the contract and why the Chains help the humans is because of a game ordered by the Queen of Hearts, where each of the ten major Chains are required to find a human to become 'Alice'.
The Chain whose human will become Alice as well as Alice will be granted freedom from Wonderland.
Or that is what the Queen of Hearts says.
Chains may have hidden motives other than this, the Queen herself might have deeper motives - or maybe she just wants to amuse herself. At any rate, they really have no choice but to go along with this 'game' and offer their contract to one of the Alice candidates.

Characters Needed:
● Ten Alice candidates. Ages should be 16+ and lower than 20. Can be of any gender you want. - 9/10 taken.
● Mad Hatter - Open
● March Hare - taken
● Queen of Hearts - taken by Bani
● White Rabbit - a servant to the Queen, but considerably powerful - as much as the Mad Hatter and the others - taken by Lukipyon
● Knave of Hearts - servant to the Queen, but powerful. Not as powerful as normal Wonderlanders, though. - Open
● Queen of Spades - Can be of any gender. As powerful as the Queen of Hearts, and holds the power to the mystery. But take note, she/he is NOT going to be a 'good' character, either. Better than the Queen of Hearts, maybe, but not without their shades. - Open
● Cheshire Cat - taken by NotSoHeartless
● White Knight - Open
● Red Knight - Open
● Dormouse - taken by Bashie L. Craft
●Caterpillar - taken by Ikuto Tsukiyomi Fan
● Tweedle Dee - taken by Orbweaver
● Tweedle Dum - taken by Orbweaver
[These two are siblings and at loggerheads with each other]
● The Duchess - taken by Orbweaver

Contractors:
● Eve V. Kimberly
● Rhiannon Jakalyn Pierce - Contracted to Cheshire
● Ariana Storm
● Belca - Contracted to Duchess
● Isaiah Grey Gris - Contracted to Caterpillar/Absolem
● Yumika Ivory Rae - Contracted to White Rabbit

Chains:
● Queen of Hearts
● Cheshire - Contracted to Rhiannon Jakalyn Pierce
● White Rabbit - Contracted to Yumika Ivory Rae
● Dormouse
● Caterpillar - Contracted to Isaiah Grey Gris
● Tweedle Dee
● Tweedle Dum
● Duchess - Contracted to Belca

Do Read:
● Chains can NOT participate directly in a fight between Contractors. Only Chains can compete against other Chains, and even then they put physical and mental strain on their contractors.

● The only Chains not required to take part in the game are the White Rabbit, Knave of Hearts, and the two Queens. But the Queen of Hearts does anyway.

● A command from the Queen of Hearts can't be directly defied by the Chains. If they do, it results in them getting their powers as a Chain and consequently their roles taken away. However, there are always loopholes, and roundabout ways, right? Also, Chains choose their own loyalty, alliances or lack thereof.

● The only requirement for the candidates to become Alice is to eliminate the other nine Candidates, through fighting or other means. You can surrender if you want, but in that case you'll be kept a prisoner by the Queen of Hearts.

● This is a player-driven RP. The basic plot is there, as well as the basic 'rules' that govern Wonderland, but that's really all there will be from my part. You can go straight into the action and attack other Candidates and Chains, or you can take it slow, look around and 'explore' Wonderland (by which I mean create new places in Wonderland, run into a few NPCs and do what you want!). As long as you don't contradict what someone already said about a certain place or say something ridiculous ( "The Palace of Hearts is made of cheese." = wut? ), you can basically do anything! On that note, feel free to add new areas and your own interpretations of Wonderland. Build upon the world. Its the most fun that way, right?

●Speaking of which, please leave the addition and basic description of a Chain's 'territory', so to speak, up to them. The Hatter will add his own mansion/ garden/ room/ whatever it is, and so on. Not to say you shouldn't build upon them, but do remember that a Chain's territory basically, like a person's room, represents their own quirks and characteristics, and you should give them the freedom to make it as they want.

● On the same note, this is more of a request, really, try to be descriptive. Details add the flavour to a post! Of course, I understand if that's not really your cup of tea, but I would be much obliged if you at least tried ^^

Post in the OOC reserving your character before posting up a profile, please ( because I'd hate it if I accepted someone's profile before looking at the OOC and then find out someone else already asked to reserve it ^^""")

Note: Your character won't remember any of their history, or even their own real names at first. Quite a few of the fields can be updated as you go along to provide for greater character development (because development is always fun!) and freedom. When all has been said and done, its entirely up to you.

Toggle Rules

1.All site rules apply.
2. I understand that violence and romance are both integral parts of an RP, but please don't overdo it. No explicitness unless extremely necessary. Do a timeskip or foreshadow - just don't be graphic.
3. Don't create unnecessary OOC drama.
4. If you have a problem with someone, tell me and I'll do my best to convey it to the person concerned without disclosing your name. That way, personal grudges can be avoided.
5. Respect everyone. Read Rule 4. If some one offends you, tell me and I'll deal with it.
6. Everyone has their own outlooks. Don't be offended if someone states an opinion that varies from yours.
7. And with regards to Rule 6, be respectful while stating your opinion.
8. Nothing done in IC is personal. Please remember that.
9. If you're going to be absent for more than three days, post in the OOC thread saying so.
10. Don't burden the main thread with too much OOC talk. That's why they made an OOC thread, eh? ^^;
11. Be literate. While I'm not asking for flawless spelling and grammar and three paragraphs per post, five lines per post and efforts at somewhat proper grammar and spelling would make it easier on the eyes ^^
12. Have as many characters as you like, just be sure you pay all of them attention.
13.Please take note that everyone is human. As you go along, you will choose powers according to the Wonderlander you are paired with, but not before that. On a similar note, don't godmod.
14.This RP is meant to be dark. No character killing, but I don't mind anything - except explicitly explicit stuff that might get us banned or something. Everything else is encouraged like whoa whoa whoa!

Her smirk had gone down quite a bit upon the realization she would be walking the rest of the way. She slumped her body like that of an unhappy child and sighed, "We'll aren't you a fun-sucker.." His talk of taunting and his almost unresponsiveness put a bad taste in her mouth. Was she taunting? She let the thought stew a bit. Maybe she was. She found her smile growing once more, thinking how people lost their composure around her. It was a lovely thing, getting reactions like that. She dared another yearnful glance upon the Caterpillar's neck. Seeing him fumble for those few short seconds was definitely fun. She sighed once more, fighting the temptation to settle upon his shoulders. She may be thought of as crazy, but she was at least polite..to a degree.

"Over halfway there." Absolem's remark jounced her from her thoughts. She gazed upon the Caterpillar and watched a slight transformation take place. His entire being seemed to brighten. Obviously, something awakened in him. Well, at least he has something of a spark in there. There was still hope for the creature yet. She looked away, bored, noting that was the end of his display. Her eyes grazed lazily about the fauna surrounding them.

How did he know where they were? There weren't any special landscapes to support his where-abouts. Everything moved and changed in her Wonderland, even the plantlife. A sudden thought struck her like a block of lead. Did he walk everywhere he went? She snickered at the thought, finding the action hilarious. Why walk when one could sneek rides or take short-cuts. She stopped suddenly, her body seizing. "Shortcuts." She whispered incredulously, "How could I forget?" She was horrified that she had actually forgotten about her secret networks of shortcuts throughout her Wonderland. Why were they walking?! They could've been at the Queen's palace by now!

The light purple hues which tinted her were growing darker and darker, complimenting the gloom she was now feeling. She continued after Absolem, her stature and gait now much slumpier and haggard. She stared hard at the back of man's neck, her yellow eyes narrow. She felt change stirring within her once more and let it ride. Her body twisted and morphed into something much smaller. The dark hues which surrounded her grew substantial, coating her in soft fur. "Screw it," she whispered and leap towards the Caterpillar's nape when he announced "Well, no time to prepare a riddle.. blast it all."

She paused in mid jump and looked before them. Her mood completely flip-flopped. "Hey, It's the palace!" She cheered, happily stating the obvious. "Wonder's never cease to amaze, Absolem. How you do this daily, I'll never understand."

Destra/Tweedle Dum

He watched as the whirlwind engulfed the boy before him, leaving behind a white rabbit which promptly ran off, leaving him alone once more with his brother.

"A handy trick to have that would be" he thought to himself, "But how rude of him to tell me to take better care of my knife when it was exactly where it wanted to be."

He soon became aware of of a pressure on his hand, looking down with disgust he realised that he was still holding hands with Sinistra. Furiously he wrenched his hand away.

"Did you hear that?" asked Destra, "An invitation from the Queen for the chains to play a game."

Adjusting the newsboy cap on his head, he turned away from his brother and began to head in the direction of Lake Lacie where the Palace of Hearts was to be found. As he walked, he soon lost himself in thought.

"Why was the Crow here of all places?" He wondered, "It only seems to follow me or Sinistra, could it be because of the Rattle?"

An interesting idea then popped into his mind, could it be that the Rattle was now the Crow? If so it would explain a lot but was that really possible? Pushing the depressing thought from his head with a shake he continued on his way.

Sinistra/Tweedle Dee

Sinistra rubbed his hand on the ground, he couldn't bear to have it contaminated by his brother.

"Contrarywise," shouted Sinistra as Destra got further and further away, "It's an invitation to play a game for the chains from the Queen."

With a sigh he hurried to catch up, travelling together was not going to be an enjoyable experience, however, it was unavoidable as they were going to the same place. The two continued in silence for a while, Sinistra was determined not to talk to Destra any more than he had to. Instead he tried to remember a time where they hadn't hated each other, it would have been a long time ago but he was sure they had once been friends and enjoyed each others company. The idea was almost laughable now but he supposed it would be nice to go back to the way things were before the incident with the Rattle. Sadly, time was not something he could control.

With a giggle he began to recite one of his favorite rhymes.

"The Lion and the Unicorn were fighting for the crown,
The Lion beat the Unicorn all around the town,
Some gave them white bread, some gave them brown,
Some gave them plum cake and drummed them out of town."

He began to dance excitedly as he thought of the Lion, he had always loved imagining the strong and majestic Lion beating the Unicorn around the town.

"It serves the Unicorn right too," he giggled, "Trying to take the crown from the Lion."

He knew that Destra of course, would disagree. After a while his giggles subsided and the twins were soon standing infront of Lake Lacie. The sight of the Palace of Hearts on the lake was enough to take ones breath away. Without a word, the two started making their way towards the palace.

Absolem/Caterpillar

Absolem silently laughed at Cheshire's reactions. This is why I asked for that cat's company, she forgets the fact that she could have easily already been here at the palace ages ago.. for once, he tricked this cat. His eyes twinkled as he smirked, "Did we forget..?" he asked, taking a pale hand through Cheshire's hair teasingly. His lips curled up to match his eyes which were fixated in an amused stare, "That someone could take shortcuts?" he was taunting Cheshire now, instead of being the one taking all of the taunting actions and remarks.. He planned this from the beginning, seeing if he could get her mind off her shortcut attitude, letting her taunt him, only for this moment. Seeing Cheshire's reaction when he finally realized Absolem had cheated him, "Remember Cheshire, not everything in life has a shortcut." he placed his index finger in the air, as if warningly stating something quite important. You may want to remember that, dear Cheshire, otherwise, I'm afraid..you may get hurt in the events to come.. and that's no fun if I'm not the cause of it, now is it?

Caterpillar indeed walked a lot, but he didn't walk everywhere, how could he spy on the Queen if she could hear his every footstep? He'd done it many times, floating around the Palace. It was a wonder how Rabbit never discovered him. He looked to Cheshire, a dark warning in his eyes, "Had you went through with that unwise decision, you would find the Queen quite cuddly and managable compared to what I would do to you. Cutting off your head would be far too..quick and painless. Besides, everyone knows yours pops off.. " his glare was serious, not even a twinge of humor was poking out, but then he did something scarier. He smiled, it was almost suffocatingly sweet. Caterpillar never smiled, ever, "Shall we go inside now? I'm sure our loooovely Queen is getting quite tired and frustrated waiting for us to arrive.." His voice leaked sadistic amusement. Suddenly, Absolem bowed like a gentleman, then the sound of the door opening to the palace could be heard, he used his Telekinesis to be charming, hoping it would further irritate, possibly even anger the cat. He stood, his hand ushering towards the open Palace, allowing Cheshire first entrance, "After you~" He was smiling again, he had been toying with her like a piece on a chessboard the entire time, sneakily, letting her think she was in control, but the whole time keeping her mind off the easy way out of getting to the palace. He made her suffer the walk on purpose, so he could enjoy her whines, complaints, and that delicious distress. Despite his calm and careless nature, he was quite..cruel to those around him, tricking them into doing things they didn't want to do.

She spun slowly in the air, making it seem as if she had just playfully jumped instead of planning to plant herself upon Absolem. It was believable right? She was a random creature, afterall. At least that's what she heard of herself. She stopped, now upside down and locked eyes with the Caterpillar. He didn't seem too pleased. His posture and tone was actually rather threatening. She supposed it was because he caught on to her little plan. Internally, she rolled her eyes. Well, he wasn't dull that much was certain. She definitely didn't want to hear any lectures though, especially knowing she was about to be in the Queen's company. That was all that woman did was lecture. Instead she played dumb, ignoring the harsh remarks and continuing her rotation until she stood upright. Once her paws hit the earth she transformed once more, this time with little dramatics, and stood arms crossed as an alert male.

The sudden display of Absolem's telekinesis impressed him some, causing his brows to raise slightly. However, he wouldn't be caught off guard by it. So what if the Caterpillar had secrets of his own. Who didn't? At least now he had slightly more intel on the being. It was a comfort, now that he thought of it, that he didn't travel with Absolem through his secret passages. One less knowledgeable thing for Caterpillar to muse over. He thought back to earlier when Absolem was flirting with his own displays menace and mocks, smiling at the should-have-been-uncomfortable rubbing of hair. True, the pat was caustic, but still the mere contact was..nice. When was the last time someone had actually touched him? He gazed upon the taunting creature before him, for once keeping his features unreadable, besides of course his everlasting grin. Though thin and weak as the man looked his words held weight: 'Not everything in life has a shortcut.' It was this statement that caused Cheshire to take care. Surely with the upcoming distortion of his Wonderland, allies would be welcome and enemies watched closely. In this he would take no shortcuts. Absolem wasn't called Caterpillar for nothing. Even he knew better than to let his words fly. As for the door however, Cheshire took the opportunity on dare, "You're advice, as always, Abs, is much appreciated." He walked confidently, yet cautiously through the door.

She liked the smell - it reminded her of home. But the red colour was too bright, too vivid. She wasn't used to bright colours. She had grown up in a shadowy room, without any colours, and there was no place for red in her monochromatic world. But the palace was a horrible shade of crimson, and that was why she slashed and struck out, wanting to cover the stark red of the walls with something a little darker.
But red on red was still red.

__________

Whispers floated through the air as Alde leaned over the balcony rails. They weren't the usual whispered courtroom conversations though.

"Go away." she flicked her hand idly at the butterflies flocking around her. "I don't need you right now."

"I wouldn't be so sure of that."

Alde turned to stare at the black butterfly that had just fluttered to a landing on her right hand, by far the largest of all those present.

"What to you want, Kuro?"

"Two are here, Your Majesty." the words Your Majesty was spoken in a tone that implied heavy sarcasm or bitterness - or maybe both.

"Really?!" she brightened up. "Which ones?"

"The Form Shifter and the Riddle Maker." Kuro spat, his detestation for the persons in question was evident.

"Aww Kuro, you are always so mean to my dolls! You shouldn't be, though! They amount to nothing - just because they have names and a role doesn't make them People. They are just creatures with nowhere to belong to ... they are not even real." the blonde pouted, flinging Kuro off her hand on to the floor below and stamping him, a smile replacing her pout as she uttered the last few sentences.

"Like you." Kuro hissed, body reduced to a splotch on the white marble floor. "They are just like you." , earning himself another stamp.

"Silly Kuro." Alde sighed, looking genuinely saddened. "You never know when to keep your mouth shut. Now I have to make you again." Leaning down and picking the black splotch that was Kuro, she gently cradled him in her right hand, flitting down the stairs.

"Now where are these two?" she wondered aloud, letting Kuro's body fall from her hand. Just as the little black blotch was about to touch the floor, it shifted into two black wings, which unfurled to show a butterfly.

"You are late, Kuro!" Alde chimed. "Now take me where they are!"

"Yes, Your Majesty." This time around, the words were spoken with genuine admiration and none of the bitterness from last time remained.

Alde smiled gently at Kuro as her body shifted into a storm of butterflies. When she opened her eyes again, she was in front of a male Cheshire and Absolem.

She ran towards them, throwing herself in a hug against both the males, trilling out a "I missed you!"

Withdrawing, she treated them to a hurt look.

"You never visit! But We are so happy you are here now! Shall we retire for some tea while the other Chains ctach up, Cheshire, Caterpillar." she stressed Absolem's role, knowing it would make him angry. But she couldn't do anything about it - he had to remember his role, that he was not human in anyway anymore.

"Hyah!" a young girl with long locks of incredibly ludicrous pink hair lunged her sword forward. She played with the tree in front of her, hacking and slashing it with her Sabre until the tree fell backwards. She didn't even break a sweat. Her pale blue eyes shifted around Lake Lacie, a good place to keep calm. Her mask was over her face, covering that timid look she had always had on her, even in battle.

It was quiet, only the sound of the current moving about was constant. Maybe a ruffle of the wind and some insects, but everything else was calm. Or at least that was what she thought.

Absolem / Caterpillar

Absolem blinked, he wasn't sure why, but Cheshire turned into a male. He shrugged it off easily however. He had bigger fish to fry. He had to get his mind prepared for the Queen. He wasn't a very tolerant person, and her insistence on calling him Caterpillar was disgustingly annoying. His light-pink orbs scanned the Palace. Why did he even show? There had been many times before that he refused the Queens call, simply exhibiting a blind eye to her notices. It probably wouldn't be wise to do it three times in a row, three times and you're out you know. Ha, I rhymed. I'm a poet and I didn't even know it. Haha, alright that's enough. It's corny now. Once was an accident, twice amusing, thrice annoying. He caught a glimpse of Cheshire's impression on his parlor trick, a smug smirk crossing Caterpillar's lips.

Caterpillar just stared for a moment, his expression baffled, and then he snapped out of his embarrassment, which, he didn't allow to claim his face however, "Absolem! Not 'Abs' or that...other name!" he hissed at the cat, his fist clenching softly. What the hell? Abs? Is he mocking me? I've got them, but he's sure as hell never seen them! Cheshire indeed shook his composition again, but with a chew of his lip and a fidget of his hands, he overcame it, walking in after Cheshire. Calm down, it's her you need to worry about. That woman, not yourself, not Cheshire.

He was just about to say something more to Cheshire, when he was startled by the Queen. Instantly he felt her arms around him, a shiver of disgust coursing up his spine, his face turning pale. How can a touch as simple as one such as this, make me physically ill? She is potent in every right.. Absolem stepped three steps away from the Queen after she let go, contemplating escaping, but alas, he could only run for so long, a year possibly? If he kept his wits, a year was quite possible. Though, a year of being a fugitive, or a lifetime of dealing with these brief encounters? He would have to make due.

He forced a smile, his face appearing anything but pleasant, " Oh, I didn't realize just how long it's been.. my it felt like yesterday you were holding me like so.." he hissed out behind his smile, the words attempting to catch in his throat. It only felt like yesterday because your touch is so scarring. I doubt I'll recover if you hug me again, you royal twit.. He hated the Queen, loathed her. Though, on his own, he had nothing he could do to oppose her. He literally almost exploded when he was called out of his original name. His face was red with anger, his fists clenched, but he held his tongue, for his own sake. He jumped from the ground, floating above them to avoid her touch, if she tried to touch him again. He couldn't stand too much of that! Only that blasted rabbit could seem to stand her company, and that is primarily out of fear if you ask me, "My...my Queen, you're quite...generous. How can one refuse you?" His tone leaked sarcasm, but his expression contradicted it perfectly, he now looked quite sincere, dropping back down to his feet, giving her a gracious bow. He was running riddles through his head to keep his head on his shoulders, literally, "Though, I think the rest are quite naughty, me and Cheshire came as soon as we heard! What does this say of the others loyalty to our precious Queen?" he was going to damn the others to hell for leaving him and Cheshire to suffocate in her company.

If you had to choose between white and black, what would you do?

Would you choose the monotony of kindness?

Or would you let yourself go, seeking only the spice of variety, uncaring of who you hurt on the way?

________________________________________________________________________________________________

Alde giggled.

"It means they show what you are too afraid to." she said happily. She knew both of the men would bristle at that remark, which was good, because Caterpillar's words hurt. Just a little, though. She had gotten used to it, after all. And she wouldn't have it any other way - it was simply too boring otherwise.

She knew they all hated her, but it didn't matter, just as her own feelings didn't. They were all prisoners in a messed up world. She had gotten top of food chain, and she was going to have her fun even if it meant damning all of them by using her position.

Its just what He wants you to do.

She dismissed the foreboding voice in the back of her mind with a practised ease. She had been doing it for far too long to try and listen to it now.

"Or maybe they just think separation makes the heart grow fonder?" she added, sickly sweetness back in place again.

If only you could truly believe that, instead of merely pretending for their benefit.

"Shall we proceed to the Tea Room?" she asked, a delicate eyebrow arching. No one could fault the Queen of Hearts' hospitality - at least, not until they incurred her wrath. Things tended to snowball from there on.

Not waiting for an answer, she glided towards a wall without any doors, calling out, "Kuro, show us to the Tea Garden, please!" as she did so.

Immediately, a portion of the wall - roughly the size of a smaller than normal door, was covered with fluttering blue butterflies, before they flew towards the three, revealing a white door with golden trim that opened as the butterflies disappeared into the opposite wall.

She stepped in the room, beckoning the two Chains in over her shoulder, not bothering to look back.

OOC: Please post in the Tea Garden after this, Caterpillar and Cheshire. Just thought I'd point it out in case you missed the new Place^^;

Cheshire

Cheshire shrugged nonchalantly upon Absolem's outburst, continuing through the door. "It's merely a nickname," he spoke evenly, not intending anything by his words, just offering truths, "Everyone has them. Not everyone likes them, but I've never seen anyone complain as much as you." He stopped once inside the palace and turned to face the Caterpillar, "Why is that?" Instead of meeting Absolem's face it he found himself trapped within the arms of Her Majesty. Immediately he stiffened upon contact. Everything within him seemed to scream and stir, demanding him to transform into something to fight against her grasp. Though difficult, he managed to control his alterations. Alright, he thought, disguarding what he previously donned nice upon being touched, If I'm never pet, hugged or prodded again, it would be too soon. The Queen's voice drooled with innocence, just like everything else about her. How one such as her became, ruler of his Wonderland he couldn't recall, but he knew better than to take things by appearances only, especially from her.

He watched from the corner of his eye as Absolem retreated a few steps, a sharp twinge of panic surging through him thinking the Caterpillar was going to leave him alone with the Queen. Dealing with her was bad enough, but being alone with her was a different story entirely. He did NOT want all her attention on him. Upon seeing the Caterpillar float instead as if fearful of the Queen, he allowed himself a tiny chuckle of both humour and relief. He allowed Absolem to speak for him. Let him have her attention for the time being. His tone and theatrics kept Cheshire curious. He gave the man props for his cruel, yet innocent display. He definitely had courage..or was just stupid. Those things we're so alike it's hard to decipher one from the other.

His smile broadened upon Absolem's calling the other chains out. Aren't we a little rat? He mused to himself. Not that he cared really, as long as it wasn't his head on the line. His eyes went to the Queen, it was her turn in this facade of polite cruelty. He disliked her remark, "It means they show what you are too afraid to." He wasn't a coward. He hated all this round about way of speaking. Tip-toeing on eggshells wasn't for him, but he wasn't stupid enough not to tread carefully. The Queen was quick to anger and though it was hilarious seeing anyone angry, the Queen's wrath was fatal. So he took the comment in stride, not allowing his smile or pose to falter. He did, however, grin more upon the sound of tea. "That sounds wonderful." He spoke with excitement, meaning every word. He couldn't remember when he last had tea, or anything 'civilized' to drink for that matter. Come to think of it when was the last time Hatter invited him for tea? He hadn't seen the bloke in a while.

He leaned towards Absolem, his feet now off the ground, "Ha. It was a good idea to come early. Now look, we get tea." He floated around the Caterpillar and dared to float next to the Queen his happy gaze studying her. Talk of tea sparked his interest, causing him to temporarily forget the care he should be taking. "I can't remember what it tastes like you know. I imagine it must be good, since most all of my Wonderland seems to drink it." He was cut off from his monologue by the thousand or so black butterflies. He couldn't help but swat at the few who flew pass, twirling about in the air using his momentum. It was instinctual, the bit of play, something he couldn't help. Though he knew he might be treading on thin ice he really didn't care..too much. He willing to risk a bit of fun in the Queen's palace. What was life if it wasn't worth risk?

White Rabbit

Rabbit groaned in frustration. He had spent approximately 10 minutes running around the most common areas of Wonderland but, to no prevail, catch a single Chain. It's as if they had all moved into hibernation or something, he stifled a chuckle as he realised he was describing the Chains as woodland animals. This was somewhat ironic because the White Rabbit was, well, a rabbit. He travelled slowly back towards the Palace. He hopped to the edge of Lake Lacie and gazed over it oppressively, Rabbit's eyes widened slightly as she saw the distinct shade of pink from a distance. It galloped behind a girl's body who was wielding a large sword in hand. Intrigue faded into relief as her identity hit him in the face.
Why... Yes.. If - Then she must... She must be Dormouse!
He bounded happily to the large grassy area where the pink-haired girl was training and stopped abruptly as he let the wind rush towards him and enfold his entirety.
"My dear, you don't know how happy I am that I've found you," Said Rabbit cheerfully, warily eyeing the long blade in her hands, "The majority of the Chains are in hiding, it seems."

Rabbit, once again, glanced at his pocket watch. He nodded dutifully, realising that he had more than enough time before he should return to the Palace. He mulled over the thought of doing a verification for anyone-else in Wonderland before reverting his attention back to Dormouse.
"Queen proposes a game of some sorts," Said Rabbit with a tone that hinted formality," I have no information on the subject so I have told the rest of the Chains - that I managed to find - to go to the Palace and ask the Queen herself. Most of them should be there by now, so you'll be in good company."

The boy then crouched onto the floor and transformed into a rabbit. He stood on his hind legs, the golden pocket watch placed in his white paw.
"I shall a do a quick double-check before going to the Palace myself," Squeaked the rabbit," Until then, au revoir."
He then dropped onto all four of his paws before padding away quickly, his furry feet making no sound or mark on the dirt and grass; As if he had never been there.

Duchess Sophie

The Duchess sat in her rocking chair with an open book in front of her, listening to her cook scream for more pepper. Overall, today had been a good day she decided, her boy hadn't even sneezed once which meant she didn't have to beat him.

"He's finally learnt that he can enjoy the pepper whenever he pleases," she remarked to the cook.

That was only one thing among many though, she had noted an increase of pigs and momeraths inhabiting the gardens that surrounded he mansion and to top it all off, she had finished the first draft of her book, Hopping Mad. She loved to write about the White Rabbit.

"He's such a well dressed young boy," she said to herself, "And the way he scampers about is just adorable."

Closing the cover of the book she resolved to make him read it the next time she saw him to see what he thought of the pairing, surely he would agree that it was a perfect match.

"Now where has my son got to?" she pondered, leaning back in her chair. As if hearing her thoughts, a pig came running into the room and began to nudge her legs through the many layers of fabric that made up her dress, "There you are, my dearest," she exclaimed in delight, picking up the pig and placing it on her lap.

As she began to pet it, the pig started to shimmer and change shape untill it was no longer a pig but instead a boy, curled up in her lap, a book clasped between his hands. The Duchess continued to pet the boy, as if not noticing the change, she ran her fingers through his hair, messing up the silky locks and ocasionally adding a braid or two.

"This is a good life," she thought to herself, "But like most things, it could do with some spicing up."

Isaiah "Grey" Gris

Grey fell to the ground, defeated. He was so tired, all he had done was walk and walk for countless hours but still he hadn't encountered anybody, he couldn't even tell if he had moved anywhere, the scenery never seemed to change.

"It's almost like I'm on a treadmill" he mumbled, pulling the cards out of his pocket, "I guess the smart thing to do is stay in one place and hope someone finds me."

With that thought he began to examine the cards, placing them in unusual patterns and trying to unlock their secrets, soon enough, he bagan to notice something perculiar, no matter how he shuffled the cards, the Fool would always be among the ones he placed down.

"The begining and the end," he thought to himself without knowing why, "A sign of unexpected events and adventure."

Somehow, he knew that was what the card meant. Was his memory coming back? The thought both excited and terrified him at the same time.

"I want to know who I am," he reasoned, "But what if I don't like what I find?"

Trying to think such a decision through made him feel ill and his head hurt. Placing his head in his hands he lay on his side and curled into a ball, the cards scattered around him like fallen leaves.

Absolem / Caterpillar

"It is true that Her Majesty can be quite... intimidating at times. Although, if I were truly afraid for my life, I would not have came with merely Cheshire. I would have come in a much larger swarm, that much I can assure you." He faked a hurt expression, he was scared of her, but he was far from being a coward, "If I were so cowardly, would I be this honest with our lovely Queen?" He wasn't actually lying. He found her cruelty to be quite lovely, until it was directed at him or Cheshire. Cheshire was one of few that he enjoyed the company of, "I am quite enjoying your company." he added, his eyes sparkling as he gazed upon the Queen with admiration, as long as she kept the word Caterpillar from her lips. He was good at this game, he was good at pretending, just as she was, but he was only partially pretending. Absolem saw wonders in everyone he met, he just rarely spoke of them. He however knew, his usual quiet broody behavior might anger the Queen, angry was not a good emotion to stir from her. The normally quiet Caterpillar was flirting, trying to charm her, even if only for his own amusement. He liked seeing her irritated, not exactly angry, but he definitely was one who enjoyed stirring up anyone he'd get the chance to have in his grasp, even one that had his neck in her own grasp. Life isn't fun without a little risk afterall.

"Would you like to hear a few riddles Mi'lady?" he asked, his eyes were calm now, and he looked to cheshire floating about. They at least had that much in common. Both could float about the room freely if they wanted. It was a useful antic. It kept you out of others reach, those who were bound to the ground. He followed into the Tea garden, his fuscia eyes darting around before relaxing, his only sign of panic. He gazed at the flowers with admiration. Despite being such a sadistic tease, flowers were a weak spot for him, he was unsure why. Possibly instinct. Possibly because their lives were so short and his was so drawn out..

If she could have snorted, she would have. But she had quit doing things like that a long ago, ever since she stepped foot in Wonderland.

.... no, it was a little after that, wasn't it? Right after she had been told who she really was.

"Thank you for the offer, Absolem, but We have something to tell the both of you."

As long as the Caterpillar was trying to be nice, she supposed she could play along. Plus she was feeling a little tired right then, from all the work she had been doing ... opening up portals to the Outer World did require a lot of energy. It was draining, even for her,

"Do sit down." she gestured towards the red velvet sitting stools surrounding the low table set in the middle of the room with a lazy flick of her hand, going to sit in the higher stool at the head of the table. "Kuro, take care of our guests."

Ignoring the sudden storm of butterflies flitting around the table, revealing teacups and sugar bowls. she was feeling generous today. If she hadn't , she would have stamped out each of the beautiful, filthy insects under her heel.

"We'll share a secret with you two, because you were so quick in responding to us." she addressed the other two. "The Queen of Hearts hadn't always been the Queen of Hearts. But it has been so long, We don't even properly remember who or how the person called 'Me' used to be." she paused for a moment to compose her words. It wouldn't do to show them too much weakness. It never did to show anyone her weakness.

"Its the same with you two, isn't it?" she asked gently, waiting for an answer, biding her time so her words could sink in.

Cheshire

He floated into the little garden, appearing and disappering above the patches fauna. In his forest it was the plantlife that kept him company. He rather enjoyed listening to their chatter and songs. He wondered how these plants would be, kept within this domestic environment. It saddened him some, seeing how trimmed and proper they were, unable to grow and spread to their hearts content.

He looked at Absolem and caught his expression upon observing the fauna and appeared beside him. The Caterpillar was definately a hard one to figure out. There was passion within him, that much was certain. Why the creature kept himself bottled up he couldn't understand. Despite the cold demenor, he did feel a strange companionship with Caterpillar. Perhaps it was the trials they endured together? The ridiculously long hike to the palace to sharing a common Queenly enemy.

He hovered above the seats the queen had offered, not wanting to sit just yet. There was a slight paranoia he had being within the palace. Though the palace was big, it was still like being in a cage. He found himself looking everything over, making a mental note of how he could make a quick getaway incase one was needed. Her Majesty's comment drew his attention and he couldn't help but smirk with amusement. He quickly got himself in check, he didn't want her to see how ridiculous her 'revelation' was to him.

"Indeed, I have no memory of my past, Queen," he spoke with mock disappointment, "But, no one is who they used to be. That's hardly a secret."

White Rabbit

The White Rabbit stopped in his tracks as the distinct scent of pepper hit his snout like a blow from a fist. He wrinkled his nose and the small mammal pawed his way to a large mansion surrounded by several pigs and momeraths. At the doorstep, he transformed into a human and curtly straightened his tie before knocking on the door.
Rabbit was more than aware that the large double doors, which loomed over his entire being, belonged to the Duchess along with the rest of the mansion. As far as he was aware, the girl had spent most of her life within her own vicinity, entertaining herself with writing delusional fiction and the company of her chef and the group of creatures that inhabited her garden.

The poor dear, I wonder if she ever feels lonely at times.

After a brief moment of waiting, he decided to invite himself in. The residents of Wonderland had their own strange rules of etiquette, it was normal for the guest to enter by one’s self. Besides, he had knocked didn’t he? Rabbit cocked his head up towards the ceiling. The place was indeed large but only very few of the rooms were regularly being used. The boy peered into the closest room beside him and saw the Duchess in her usual rocking chair, with a child in her lap.

Rabbit coughed forcefully, in order to expose his presence, before stepping into the room.
β€œI’m glad that I only had to look in one room to find you.” Commented the White Rabbit bluntly and focused his gaze briefly on the boy, β€œIt’s nice to see your son again, madam.”
He cleared his throat again and pushed his spectacles up on his small nose.
β€œI’m afraid I don’t have enough time to hear another of your stories, I’m afraid. The Queen has sent a message to all of the Chains, including you.” The boy said matter-of-factly, narrowing his eyes at the hardback that was lying beside her chair,” She invites all of the Chains to play in a game she is planning. She wishes to see all of them at her Palace immediately.”

Rabbit had grown bored of repeating the similar message again and again to the receivers. Of course, Rabbit was accustomed to sending messages on behalf of the Queen but, on most occasions, it only concerned one person to which he travelled to. He usually didn’t have to worry about remembering the message. But it was a command from his ruler and he couldn’t complain, the Queen’s assistant was expected to put an effort in every little thing he did. He obliged to this willingly... But, even still, he tried to make this one as short and sweet as possible.

β€œI have sent this message to the bulk of the other Chains. They should be on their way now so I suggest leaving soon.” muttered Rabbit, β€œI shall hasten my leave. I shall also go to the Palace as well, but in the mean time... Goodbye.”
He promptly made his way back to the entrance of the mansion and warily closed the large doors behind him without a second glance.

Absolem / Caterpillar

Absolem blinked a bit, he could have easily made such an assumption, and always had. There was no way she was always the Queen of Hearts after all. Physically impossible and just morally corrupt. What kind of world would that be cursed to be? He smirked to himself sitting down, his green locks shielding his eyes as he took in the information. So none of the chains were chains, I assumed this to be true, but I had no proof until just now. Heh. It's a glorious feeling to know you were right from the beginning.

"I unlike most, remember my name. Though I remember nothing else, your Majesty. I suppose thats why I am obligated to cling to it so very dearly." He admitted, he was sure she would notice if he lied, and that wouldn't be good, now would it? He looked over to Cheshire, who he had caught looking at him previously, but decided feign stupidity to the action. Cheshire was quite the opposite of him really. Does that mean I was like Cheshire before I came to Wonderland? Dear god I hope not! Cheshire was quite expressive, outgoing, and quite the charmer, he himself however was only those things when he was toying with others, amusing himself. It was all a mask he wore in order to entertain himself and those around him. He could not express his feelings properly. He couldn't talk to others so openly, touch others so freely, and feel perfectly natural about it. He kind of envied the Cheshire Cat, but in another aspect, he didn't. It was quite a curious thing actually, the way he felt towards this cat. These mixed feelings aggervated him a bit. He liked the Cat's company, it managed to make him ponder a lot more than he normally does, which to Caterpillar, pondering on life was the greatest joy.

Absolem grinned at Cheshire's remark, "Yes, we all are quite different than we probably were in our human lives. I bet you were quite snobbish in your previous life, seeing as your statement would mean you're the contradiction of who you once were. Like the doppleganger of your previous self. It would be quite interesting to remember at least, I mean of course, what kind of people we all were. "

Duchess Sophie

"Well now," said the Duchess to her boy as she stood up, sending him to the floor, "How about that, the Queen wants to play a game."

She swept over to her bookcase, intending to replace Hopping Mad back amongst her other works of fiction but then decided against it.

"The poor rabbit, not having enough time to read my story," she said, twirling round, "I shall simply have to bring the book with me so he can read it at the palace."

She began to get a little excited as she picked her boy up off the floor, the prospect of hearing all the news made her happy. She'd have to hurry though, it wouldn't do to be late, fashionably or otherwise. Turning to ask the cook if she had seen her bonnet, she ducked just in time as a soup turreen came flying towards her head acompanied by an outraged roar for pepper.

"Oh do pull yourself together," said the Duchess calmly, pulling her boy closer to her, "It's in the pantry as it always is."

As she began to hunt for her bonnet, she spared a few moments to look at the book her son had been reading, she never knew where he got these from, they had the oddest of titles and they certainly didn't belong to her.

"He certainly is an enigma," she thought as she looked at him, "And a miracle."

At last she had found her bonnet which she quickly tied onto her head before rushing out the door in the direction of the Palace of Hearts, which was not too far away, luckilly.

"One must always look their best when appearing before the Queen," she explaind to her boy as he hurried to keep up with her.

Very soon she arrived at Lake Lacie with the Palace of Hearts in sight. A fair distance ahead of her were two figures, one wearing a newsbow cap and the other an eight section cap. The twins. She remembered with a smile, the story she had written about their forbidden love.

"Oh boys," she sang out, heading towards the two brothers, "Tweedle Dum, Tweedle Dee, wait for me."

Sinistra/Tweedle Dee

Sinistra turned at the sound of the voice calling him by "that" name to see a yellow and orange clad figure racing towards them, tailed by a smaller figure. It was her, the Duchess and her son.

"Oh dear," he muttered to himself, "Here comes the gossip hag."

He had never forgotten the time she had written a story about a forbidden love he supposedly shared with Destra, it had just added to the redicule he recieved.

"It wasn't even remotely believable either," he thought, "We hate each other too much."

As she drew closer he began to construct what he hoped was a pleasant and friendly look on his face and tried to imagine positive vibes emanating from his body. If he pretended that he liked her then perhaps it would come in useful for a trick later.

"My, if it isn't Duchess Sophie Vespre," he said, his voice dripping with syrupy sweetness, "I haven't seen you since that Caucus-race we had, its been far too long."

With a bow he swept his cap off, took her hand and kissed it.

Destra/Tweedle Dum

Destra rolled his eyes at his brothers obviously fake display of affection, he wouldn't be so quick to forgive the story she had written. Turning his attention to the Duchess's son he was surprised to discover the boy staring at him. He had always found the boy a mystery, surely he couldn't really be the Duchess's child, who would the father have been? Taking a step forward he crouched down to the boy's level and held out his hand.

"It's a pleasure to see you again," he said as the boy took his hand and shook it.

Destra remained there for a moment, as if in a staring competition, the boy just stood there silently, never blinking, as if trying to communicate with his eye. Come to think of it, he'd never heard the child say anything.

"Can you speak?" he whispered so only the boy would hear.

He boy still said nothing but looked down at the ground sadly. For half a moment, Destra thought that he was going to cry but then the boy looked up at him again, a look of sorrow and frustration in his eyes.

"It would appear not," thought Destra to himself, "He still seems to be quite intelligent though."

He smiled sadly at the boy before straightening up and adjusting his cap, turning to face the Duchess and his brother.

"Well then, Duchess, Tweedle Dee," he said with a smirk as a look of anger crossed Sinistra's face, "We shouldn't keep the Queen waiting any longer."

With that they all prepared to head towards the castle, as he was about to take a step forward he felt a small hand slip into his, looking down he saw the Duchess's son standing close to him.

"Looks like I've made a friend," thought Destra as he walked with Sinistra and the Duchess to the Palace of Hearts.

Hearing voices Aria stopped walking and looked in the direction the voices came from, "Are there people?" She changed her course and pushed some brush aside but saw no one. Furrowing her brow Aria walked onto the path and sighed in frustration, "I could have sworn I just heard people..." Looking down the path Aria just realized that the world seemed to change, "Great this place has a mind of its own now?" Running her fingers through her hair Aria headed what she was going to assume was south hoping that she didn't back track. This is such a pain! Moving a tree branch out of her way Aria saw that she was at the top of a hill and could see a castle in the distance. "It looks so far away...maybe a four day walk at the most."

Biting her lip she was debating if she should head towards the castle or turn back. I do want to find someone but I don't want to be a prisoner for trespassing either. Groaning in frustration Aria sat down at stared at her charm, "I remember that my mother gave me this...and I know that I'm nineteen but that's all. I don't know how I got here or why I'm here..." While she was sitting she felt something in her pocket and pulled it out. "My ipod!" Feeling happy for once since she's been here Aria put the ear buds in her ears and pressed play. Hearing the song Memories by Panic! At the Disco come on she had to contain her laughter. How fitting.

Alde ignored Cheshire's sarcastic remark. Now was not the time to get angry. She had something to do, and she needed both of them. Alive and intact. Because experience had taught her that while people tended to listen better with one of their limbs missing, both Cheshire and Caterpillar would probably reach their breaking point if she tried. And she wasn't about to let this wonderful game go to waste because two powerful Chains had gone wreaking havoc through Wonderland.

"Indeed we don't." she offered, taking a measured sip of her tea. "But don't you want to?" she smiled at Caterpillar - Absolem, she supposed she could call the other by his given name for a while now, as a peace offering for being honest with her - "Apparently you do. That's exactly where this game I proposed comes in."

She took a deep breath. "Through certain means, I have secured ten people from the Outer World. Ten of the most powerful Chains will be Contracting with them. The rules are simple, eliminate the other Contractors - and you and your Contractors are free to go to the Outer World."

She paused a moment for effect, before continuing.

"That's what you'll tell them. But because you two were so nice as to not hide from Little Rabbit, I'll let you in on a little secret. You see, the winning Candidate isn't going to go anywhere. Its only the Chain that gets to walk out of Wonderland. The Contractor is going to stay back here and take the place of the Chain they were Contracted to."

Now to make the game a little more interesting. Alde idly wondered what they would do. Both Cheshire and Caterpillar were unpredictable people - hell, all of the Chains were - and telling them this little extra bit of information ... would prove to be rather a dilemma for them, wouldn't it?

And it would be an even larger dilemma for the other Chains when they finally got to know, after forming emotional bonds with their own Contractors. She didn't really know why she had told these two the truth already - well, a part of it, at least - but she didn't particularly care.

It would be boring to watch everyone stumble through the same things, wouldn't it?
She needed to play around a little bit more, because after this would be ...

"Think carefully on it." she muttered.

Destra/Tweedle Dum

He stood before the entrance to the palace, the hand of the Duchess's son in his own, Sinistra and the Duchess herself on either side of him. It hadn't taken them long to get here but now, nobody wanted to be the first to go in.

"Do you suppose we wait for someone to show us in?" he asked. He didn't expect an answer, nor did he get one.

He supposed that he could always just walk in but the Queen might take offence to that and chances were that there would be a horrible punishment involved. No, he was quite content to wait here for as long as it took, let his brother find out what mood the Queen was in. With a sigh he let go of the boy's hand and sit down. After a moment, the Duchess's son joined him and pulled out a book. Silence engulfed the group as the waiting began.

Duchess Sophie

"Now just what is the Queen up to?" the Duchess pondered, "She usually always knows exactly when a visitor arrives."

It was true, she had never been able to work out how the queen did it, she had suspicions of course but needed confirmation.

"It's rude to keep a lady waiting," she said to herself with a giggle, "Then again, she's a lady herself."

She was about to ask Tweedle Dee, or Sinistra as he preferred to be called, what his thoughts on the Queens uncanny ability to know when visitors arrived when she was interupted by a sneeze. She looked over at her boy, glaring, her eyes full of fire and wasn't surprised to see him shift his gaze downward in shame.

"What have I told you about sneezing?" she demanded, storming towards the boy, only to stop as he hid behind Destra. The sight was so adorable her heart melted, with a squeal of delight she rushed towards the boy and swept him up.

"Oh my darling boy," she cried, spining around with glee, "You're just so adorable."

Absolem / Caterpillar

Caterpillars eyebrows raised impressed when the Queen refused to resort to anger. Either she's grown up a bit, or she has something up her sleeve, "I suppose we all would like to know what we were once like." he proposed, pretending to feel indifferent. He did not need to leak to the Queen just how desparate he was to leave wonderland now did he? That would prove rather poisonous to my exsistance. He nodded running a hand through his hair, taking a drink from the tea before him as well, he wasn't much of a tea person, but his throat was irritated, so he gladly accepted. She took a deep breath. "Through certain means, I have secured ten people from the Outer World. Ten of the most powerful Chains will be Contracting with them. The rules are simple, eliminate the other Contractors - and you and your Contractors are free to go to the Outer World."

"Can one really hide from that...adorable white ball of fuzz?" he asked with a laugh. Rabbit was a character, despite his loyalty to this Queen, he couldn't pull himself to hate someone who seemed so innocent. He nearly choked on his tea when he finally learnt the..truth? No, she would never trust us with the truth. He ran his pale fingers through his hair, then fidgeted a bit, something he did often while thinking, "I suppose, it's interesting. I have no obligation to care about a human afterall. Why should we?" he asked tilting his head. He didn't like them because they were free, but if protecting a human in a game meant freedom, or possible freedom, he would definitely play, "Are there any rules? Also my Queen, if death is not allowed, how shall one judge the winner? I'm quite..curious. This sounds about up my alley. I love a good game, for games are riddles in disguise."

Cheshire

He knew he was pushing his luck with the Queen and was pleasantly surprised when she didn't react in any way. Whether she was planning something horrible worth the 'attitude' he and Absolem were giving made him wary. Either way, he decided that it would be in his best interest to remain quiet and actually listen for a bit, though he couldn't help but snort at Caterpillar's comment of the White Rabbit. What was it that everyone saw in that horrid creature? Something so absent of colour, was unnatural. Rabbit was like a ghost, only showing up to scare people with awful messages. Even his eyes were horrid, like pools of blood. He shook his head from the images and put his mind on the conversation at hand.

Only the Chains get to leave, eh? He humphed. The information was very interesting. "So," he said, now slowly descending onto the previously offered stool, "Kill anyone who stands in the way and the survivor gets to leave?" He couldn't help the doubt which crept into his voice. "How does leaving help us discover our past selves?" In all honesty, Cheshire rather enjoyed living within his wonderland. He had no attachment to the unknown realm Her Majesty spoke of. True, finding out who he once was was..tantalizing, but he was in no hurry to leave. Personally, if he were to win anything, it would just be to have the Queen off his hide. With her out of the picture his Wonderland would be perfect. He grinned widely at this, hoping the others wouldn't catch on to what he was thinking.

His ears twitched upon hearing Absolem's resolve. He supposed the comradely he felt was one way. He found himself shrugging. It's not like he had any real ties anyway, but he still felt his heart sink slightly. He decided he would play along, if just for the competition. It would be an amusing thing, a regular human. A strange twist in Wonderlandian events.

"Can one really hide from that...adorable white ball of fuzz?"

Alde's lips twitched. She couldn't decide between being amused by thinking what Rabbit would do if he heard somebody addressing him that way, and being angry that somebody else was talking of one of her favourite toys like that. In the end, she decided to settle for a small quirk of her lips and a neutral shrug.

"You might want to change your opinion on that if you want to get out of Wonderland." she said, noncommittally, even though her heart was racing. She knew both of them were smart enough to know she wasn't telling them the whole truth, but .... but it didn't matter. Because who would be stupid enough not to take this chance for freedom? Even if they could tell, they didn't have any choice.

"Are there any rules? Also my Queen, if death is not allowed, how shall one judge the winner? I'm quite..curious. This sounds about up my alley. I love a good game, for games are riddles in disguise."

Her smile widened. There now, Absolem. It seems I've already caught you.

"There are no rules as such. And I don't remember saying deaths aren't allowed ..." she gave them a sweet smile that she knew would creep them out. " The Chains can only fight other Chains, and Contractors must face off against another Contractor. That's the only thing to go in the way of rules, I suppose .... Also, you can't force your Contractor to fight against their wills. If a Contractor refuses to fight, their Chain will be eliminated from Wonderland."

It was then that Cheshire spoke up.
"Kill anyone who stands in the way and the survivor gets to leave? How does leaving help us discover our past selves?"

Oh, you are a tough nut to crack, Cheshire.

Alde nodded. "Exactly. And as for that, I can't tell you the details, really. But this is what the Creator of Wonderland told Us. We shall clarify once the other Chains arrive. Speaking of which ... Kuro, do direct anyone who arrives here, won't you?"

Absolem / Caterpillar

Absolem's eyes scanned the Queen, a faint sparkle passing through, he really enjoyed making others uncomfortable, even when he was in danger of losing his head. His eyes then closed as he took another calming drink of tea, oh how wonderous it felt on his sore throat. He almost let out a content sigh, but he knew better, he used his better judgement.

"Ah, quite wise advice if I do say so myself your highness." he had the faint hint of a smile, glancing to Cheshire, "I really detest that I have to go against you however, but please, by all means, may the best win?" he offered his hand. His comments earlier seemed to bother the cat, this was Absolems best way of apologizing, seeing as he never had to before.

You think you have me in your web, like a helpless insect in a spider's web, well my lovely arachnid. I'm letting you believe I am trapped, caught in your web.. but caterpillars aren't often prey to spiders..

"Hmm, interesting. I don't value many lives of my fellow chains, so for the most part...it shall prove a minor guilt." He wasn't lying, there were only about two or three other chains he would regret harming, "Though, fighting them will be the difficult part, can't say I know where I stand on the bar..what do you mean eliminated from wonderland?" He tugged at his collar, did she mean...off with their head...executed?
