Personality

Rihtarion is one of the kindest Dragons in the entire of Varnaya. He's also quite brave. He tends to be serious since he had to grow up quickly.

Equipment

The only equipment(besides his clothing as pictured above) is a beautiful long sword. The hilt is gold and has several small emeralds in it.

History

Rihtarion was born about 1000 years before the Dragons went into hiding. Shortly after the Dragons separated and hid, his father was murdered in one of the Human cities. He is now the only being that can restore balance to the world. He refuses to call his race back to their ancient city, believing as his father did that the other two races don't need them. He currently is living as a wanderer, never staying to long in any city.

So begins...

Rihtarion found himself, as always, in his Elven form. After two thousand years of having to stay in this awful form, he'd grown tired of it. He longed to be able to shift into his true form. To be able to spread his wings and rule the skies as he was meant to. He could not though. He knew the importance of his current situation. The Elves and Humans needed to realize that they needed each other. He pained his heart to think of how the two races were at war with each other. It was madness. Rihtarion did not foresee the war ending until one of the races were completely killed off. Shaking his head, the young Dragon looked around. Where am I? he thought, his bright emerald eyes taking in his surroundings. He was in a giant forest. If his memory served him correctly, this was the Old Wood. The only forest that had not been taken by any race. He'd be safe here for some time before he'd have to move on.

The Old Woods trees were giant. Even if Rihtarion was in his true form he could have walked through without any trouble. The Prince wondered what would happen to the forest if the Humans and Elves continued on fighting. Who would claim it? These were things that really shouldn't matter to him. Yet..he did care. Shaking his head slightly, he continued on through the Woods. The early morning light was shining through the green leaves of the trees, giving the forest floor an eerie glow. Rihtarion's black hair shone in the light as it moved as he walked.

Rihtarion continued on until coming to a large sparkling river that ran through the Woods. This was a good place to rest. He'd been walking for some time now and was quite tired. He gently sat his small pack down near a large rock but decided to keep his sword attached to his belt. You never knew when someone would attack. He'd rather be prepared. He approached the Kaluna River and crouched to drink from it's cool waters. He kept his senses alert. Finishing with his drink, he stood. Looking out as far as he could see in the Old Wood, he wondered if this would possibly be a good campsite. He returned to the rock that he'd sat his bag near and sat. He closed his eyes, deep in thought.

Blue eyes focused intently down the straight of the arrow. Quite a distance away there was a deer feeding upon the grass. Slowly she inhaled, readying her finger to quickly move. The deer suddenly lifted it's head in her direction, staring deeply at Nessaina. She paused the shot, exhaling, but keeping her stance. After a few moments of staring into each other's eyes, she lowered the bow and slowly unknocked the arrow, placing it back in the quiver upon her back. She bowed to the deer whom immediately darted off in a direction opposite of Nessaina's. Slowly she sighed, shaking her head. At times it was difficult for her to find a meal when she felt too bad for the creatures she must feed upon. The deer staring at her felt like a plea and it tore at her heart. She just couldn't. It would have pained her too much. Quickly she draped the bow over her shoulder next to the quiver and ran toward a large tree. A small jump and hands grabbed upon a limb, feet gliding up the trunk. A gentle push of her feet against the trunk at an angle and a pull of her arms from the limb and she jumped, landing atop the limb she previously grasped. A few more movements like this carried her to about mid-tree before she ran along a sturdy limb, jumped and landed on a limb of another tree. This continued in a steady line through the trees, focused on a certain direction. The Kaluna River, which to her had no name.

As she approached the River, her pace had slowed. Gently and very quietly she jumped to the final tree before the clearing. Much like a squirrel she scurried along the limb to get a better look. Cautiously , eyes darted around the opening for other creatures. Any whom would harm her, or be in her way of a quick drink. It did not take long for her to realize an elf had taken placement on her side of the river. Squinting, she noticed his eyes were closed. Nessaina was not quite sure what to do. The male elf was not but 50 feet from her. Breathing was controlled and muscles tensed, allowing her to be silent in her position. She was also quite thirsty. Tracking that deer had taken some time, just to lose it.

Upon examining the male further, she noticed the dark colors along his wear, including his hair. Quite the opposite of her own, which confused her. Of the many elves she had seen through these forests, none wore anything so dark. Head canted to the other side, trying to figure him out. Quietly, she just watched him, attempting to make a decision on her next move.

Rihtarion's eyes suddenly snapped open. He had the strange sensation of being watched. His green eyes took in his surroundings. He didn't see anything that could possibly be watching him. Perhaps he'd lingered too long? He wasn't sure. He was uneasy with this feeling. He didn't like not being able to see the threat. Varnaya had become quite dangerous and even as a Dragon, Rihtarion needed to be alert. In his Elven form, he could easily be killed and that would do no one any good. Every one, whether they knew it or not, was depending on Rihtarion. It was all up to him, whether the Humans and Elves continued with the war. Not that any of them knew it. What would they do with that information if they even had it? Rihtarion sighed and continued to watch.

The Dragon was on edge. The only thing that he hated about his father's decision, was having to hide. Dragons were the ultimate race and now..now..they were but legend in the lives of the other two races. Rihtarion wondered if the war would ever end. That would be the only way that he'd allow his people to return to their true home. The beautiful stone city of Mallur was on the highest mountain, only reachable by flight. No Man nor Elf had ever seen it. The streets were made of only the whitest of stone. Gold lined many of the buildings making Mallur a prize any being would kill to have. Rihtarion missed his home. It had been so long since he'd seen it. He could not return, though, for fear of not wanting to return to the rest of the world.

Rihtarion's bright eyes stared ahead, trying to listen for anything out of the ordinary. He was becoming slightly frustrated. What had sent him on edge? He slowly removed himself from the rock he'd been sitting on. He quickly picked up his small pack and put it back over his back. Deciding to remain standing he waited. If there was anything that Rihtarion had learned about the lower world was that if something was watching you..they tended to either get tired of the watching or they would approach. It would be better for him to wait a moment.

Immediately she noticed he was aware of being watched. Unfortunately, she could not tell if he knew where she was or not. It took her a moment to think about this next move. Being unsure of this mans morals was what made it complicated. Soon after the male picked up his pack and laid it upon his back. Perhaps he is leaving. If he knew I was here, why would he not attack? These questions roamed her mind, finding no answers to soothe her. Eyes darted around the forest a moment, not a single animal seemed to be near the two of them. Finding that odd, it pushed her to make the move she questioned for so long. Quickly legs pushed her up in a half stance, then angled to push again but to the side. With this her body jumped from one tree to another. Hands grabbed upwards to climb upwards, then with more weight she pushed the opposite direction, leading her back along the trees she just ran across. Back toward the tree she originally watched the male from, then on to the next few. She continued these movements back and forth, causing the trees to shake in the exact order she touched them. It caused a half circle behind the male, between about 5 trees.

Although she concentrated mostly on her actions, attempting to not fall, she too watched the males reaction. Depending on what he did was what she may have done next. She was not about to just introduce herself to a strange traveler. There were too many different kind that walked through here for her to trust them all. All she trusted was the protection these thick trees provided. From his point of view it may have looked like a bunch of animals rattling the trees. The speed of her movements increased; she would return to a tree to make it shake again before it stopped in the first place.

The main reason for all of this was to determine what kind of being he was. She was hoping he would simply get scared and run away. This would in turn mean she could get that drink of water she originally came for. However, she seemed to think that would not happen.

Rihtarion barely reacted as the trees behind him began moving rapidly. He only tilted his head back so that he could watch the trees. His emerald eyes scanned the trees as best he could. As a Dragon his eyesight was better than a Human's but not as good as an Elf's. Rihtarion wasn't too worried about whatever was in the trees. If it or they had wanted to attack him they would have already. He stared intently into the trees behind him, trying to see whatever was there. After several long moments, Rihtarion decided that it was no use. He just couldn't see whatever was there. The Dragon finally decided that whatever was there wasn't worth his attention. He turned his head back towards the Kaluna. Rihtarion decided to keep his guard up but thought it best to ignore whatever was in the trees.

The beautiful light that was shining through the tree tops had become slightly brighter. Rihtarion enjoyed the sunlight, feeling the warmth of the bright rays. The Dragon leaned against the giant rock, keeping his pack on. He shut his eyes once again. Joy clearly written upon his face. It was rare for any being to enjoy such moments but even rarer for a Dragon. When he was moving through cities, Rihtarion tried to blend in and therefore was always highly alert. He normally was only allowed to truly relax once out in the open wilds. If he could, Rihtarion would stay far away from the more populated areas of the world, but as Prince he was required to speak with many highly important Dragons. He cared little for these ass kissing Dragons. They only told him the things that he wished to know. Rihtarion snorted. Fools. All of them. They could never return home until he returned and actually took the thrown. Which he had no intention of doing anytime soon.

Whilst doing so, she noticed the elf had barely moved an inch. It caught his eye for a moment, but he returned to enjoying the sunlight, it looked like. The trees stopped their movement and she settled upon the one closest to him. For a moment she watched him soaking the rays, much like a reptile would. Since he had not reacted the way she assumed, she figured that perhaps he was safe. That did not mean her guard would be completely down, but she was still thirsty. She stood halfway from her perch on the limb, pushed off with her legs and landed on the ground shortly behind him. Slowly she walked around him, but kept her blue eyes intently upon his. Any muscle movement of his, she probably would have caught. Slowly and without word she made her way to the edge of the water. Bending down, but still facing him, a hand dipped like a cup into the waters. After a moment of feeling the cool water, she lifted the cupped hand to her lips where she quickly sipped. A few times this was repeated, never keeping her eyes off him.

It was not all too common for Nessaina to do something so daring as this. She could have moved further down the river and would have had no contact with him. However, the elf interested her. His dark clothes made little to no sense to her. His black hair was intriguing. If she had yet to see it, she wanted to know about it. This seemed like a good way to figure him out. His reactions versus hers would help tell her a little about him. At least, she thought it would. She hoped it would.

Rihtarion noted that the trees had stopped moving. He was..curious as to what had been causing the giants to move so. He stayed where he was though, determined to enjoy as much of the sunlight as possible before he needed to move on. Suddenly, something landed behind him. The Dragon tilted his head so as to see whatever it was. His emerald eyes landed on something that he did not expect to see. A female Elf. Was it she that had been making the trees move? Rihtarion watched the woman as she watched him. She was obviously wary of her. As she should be, he thought. The girl walked to the River to drink never taking her eyes off of him. Rihtarion tilted his head slightly. He usually would have taken off already, especially if someone dared to come that close to him. He really didn't need someone finding out who he was. Even though the chances were slim that this girl even knew what a Dragon was. It seemed that most of the other two races historians did not think Dragons important enough to keep much record of them.

The Dragon straightened up a bit. He was a ruler, after all. He really shouldn't have been leaning in the the presence of a Lady. If there was only one thing that his mother had taught him before they'd went into hiding, it was manners. Rihtarion knew that, although Elves originally had all lived in the forests, many preferred the protection of the Elven cities. He found it a bit strange to see an Elf here. He'd never come across one in the wilds before. What was this one doing here? He was..intrigued. Realizing that he'd been quiet for some time, Rihtarion decided that perhaps he should at least great the woman near the river. He remained glued to his spot, gazing at her intently. He bowed his head, a custom religiously practiced by the Dragons. The Prince hadn't seen many who still practiced this outside of his race. They'd seemed to deem it useless or something like that, or so he'd been told. "Greetings, My Lady," the Dragon said, continuing to watch the Elf at the River. He doubt she'd even acknowledge him. She was already wary of him and then he just had to speak to her. She'd probably take off in the opposite direction. He couldn't blame her. He was a beast, after all. No Man nor Elf had ever cared for his kind. Nor, he thought, would they ever. He raised back up out of the bow to watch the girl.

She noted the male barely moved when she landed. Of course, that was odd enough for her to take in. He was not afraid of her, as she was hoping he would be. However, she was slightly afraid of him. He seemed so calm despite what she had done to scare him away. This was most interesting to her. Things like that worked, but it had not for this creature. As he sat up and stood, she jumped back a bit, legs bending at the knee; ready to run in the opposite direction from him if he made another move toward her. Fortunately all he did was greet her and bow. So very polite for his looks. It interested her even further. Why was he acting like that? Why had it not attacked her? Why did he not even threaten her?

Sipping a little more of the water after he spoke, she then nodded very gently. This was so her eyes would not falter from his own. There was no way she would look away from him. She felt as if this was just a set up. Getting out of here may have been the best option, but she did not chose it quite yet. In a quiet and melodic voice she responded bluntly. " Greetings, Strange One." Head canted once she stated this. Standing solid in her position of possible flight she stayed.

The Dragon laughed as the girl said, "Greetings, Strange One." Rihtarion knew that perhaps he did appear strange to Elves. He'd refused to conform to what they normally wore. He was royalty and he would dress as such. Even his hair was strange to most. He had no need for it to be short and he rather liked the long strands. Another reason he hated going into the cities. He would always receive strange looks for anyone who saw him. He'd grown used to it, though. "I must admit, that I do know how my appearance is strange to you. I believe, though, you are quite strange to me as well." the Dragon said as he watched the girl. It was obvious to Rihtarion that this Elf was used to being on her own. She knew better than to come close to a stranger. He wondered if she'd ever been attacked. He could see it. It wasn't safe in the World, especially for a woman. Most believed them easy targets.

"I am Rihtarion, My Lady." the Dragon said, his soft voice carrying to the girl near him. He wasn't sure why he had given his name. He normally wouldn't do that. He'd make up a name. Rihtarion was most obviously not an Elven name nor a Human name. He did not believe there to be any harm in having told her, though. It was unlikely she knew of his kind. The Dragon regarded the girl with his eyes. He was wondering, though, why she was alone. "I can't help but wonder, why you are alone and in the Woods? They are quite dangerous and even for a skilled warrior this place can be treacherous." Rihtarion asked. Of course, she could ask the same of him. Why was he here, alone? Barely noting when the trees were moving. If it had been her watching him, she would know that he'd not cared for anything that had been in the trees.

Brows furrowed when the male laughed. She was not exactly sure what was funny in this situation. She felt it was a serious situation that could emit danger from it. So to hear laughter from the male, thoroughly confused her. She allowed the male to speak all the words he stated. In between his sentences, she simply stared at him. Watching the way he moved, including where his eyes went. Every movement was noted by her and was taken into careful consideration if it was meant as a threat. None of his movements, however, were taken as threatening. Her muscled released their tension , but only by a little. Considering he had not yet moved towards her, she figured he would not. This did not mean she was not ready to bolt in any direction if the sitaution caused for it.

After his statements, she too responded. This time her voice was lighter, expressing little concern for the situation. " I am Nessaina. It is a pleasure to meet such a creature as yourself. It is even more so a pleasure to experience your politeness." Although she considered it polite, she never once lost the idea that it could still be a front. Thus the reason her muscles had yet to completely relax. It was still a new and dangerous situation for her. " I am no skiller warrior, but these woods you call treacherous are my home. Considering yourself alone in a place like this is the view you choose, not I. Why is it you travel alone? I see many reasons , such as your appearance, but further explanation is intruiging to me. Rihtarion. " She sighed. The name he provided for her sounded familiar, but from where eluded her. Curious still, though. She pondered it in the back of her mind.

Rihtarion smiled at Nessaina. It did not seem that the girl knew him. Good. It would be one less thing that he would have to worry about. "The reason I travel alone," the Dragon started, "Is because I find it easier to be alone. I have found that there are those who would gladly join me, though not because they wish to share in my company. I would rather be alone than surrounded by fools." He watched Nessaina for her reaction. Why was he being so open with this Elf? He was not sure. Rihtarion was saddened by the thought that she appeared to not even notice his name was not Elven. He had learned quickly in the beginning that it was best to hide his true name. In those times, there were still beings who knew the Dragon King's family's names. It had pained him greatly to have to lie about who he was, where he came from. After such a long time, Rihtarion had grown used to it. It was nice, though, that someone would actually call him by his true name.

The Dragon noted that Nessaina was still being wary of him. By nature, a Dragon did not trust easily. Rihtarion had always proven different in this regard. He had always given his trust freely. He believed that everyone deserved a chance. His mother had always said that he would prove to be a Great Dragon King. Greater than even Hanacion, his father. Rihtarion had always strove to be as his father, but never believed he was even close to filling the dead Dragon's footsteps. He turned his away from Nessaina, observing there was no animals near them. It was usual for him, the absent wildlife. They always seemed to sense what he was and stayed far from him. Not that he had any need to harm them.

His emerald eyes flicked back to the Elf. She was beautiful, yes. He could see that now. He couldn't help but wonder why she was living here by herself. It was not something he should ask her. Yet, the urge to was so strong. Before he knew it, he was saying, "Why do you live here..in the Woods?"

Seeing his smile, she focused upon him deeper. Why was he smiling? She tensed up completely again, thinking he was about to do something. When he spoke about him traveling alone and for what reason, she thought a moment. His name was still mysterious to her and the fact that he traveled alone, to her, seemed like they were connected. However, she was not exactly sure. She traveled alone, but that did not make her a dangerous runaway. " What other reason would there be to join you Rihtarion, than to be in your company?" Head canted in question again. She enjoyed saying his name. First, it was interesting upon her lips and tongue, second she figured it would help her remember where she heard the name from.

Eyes darted to where He looked among the trees. Indeed there still was no noise from the rest of the Woods, other than the river and their voices. She still realized this. Unless something was dangerous, this would never occur. Living here, she knew that very well. When he looked back, she looked back at him. Hearing his question she sighed gently, going through a flash back of what was. It took her a moment as she became too focused on memories of her past, before she responded. " It is where I am most wanted and most useful...." It sounded as if she was going to continue, but her words trailed off from that. She still was unsure of this odd creature and thus decided no more information was needed.

At this point she felt her muscles were suddenly no longer tense. This confused her more so. He was odd in every fashion a creature could be, however she felt relaxed. At this point she looked down at where she was, then looked around the two of them. Finally looking elsewhere other than him. Legs slowly carried her to a spot from him, next to a medium sized rock. If she stooped behind it, he could not see her. However, she paused beside it and lowered her behind. Feet still firm on the ground, her legs bent at the knee so her butt was touching near her feet. Much like she would have if within a tree. Arms wrapped around her legs in a slight comforting manner. This was a comfortable position for her. However, still far enough away from the male to escape if necessary.

Rihtarion had remained quiet as Nessaina had asked him why others would never join him for only his company. What should he say? This was exactly the problem with trying to blend in. If a Dragon got to having actual conversations with Elves or Humans, there would always be something that the Dragon would say that could alert a smarter being as to the fact that the Dragon wasn't at all an Elf. Over the long two thousand years that the Dragons had been in hiding, they had had a few close calls. It had always been the younger Dragons. They tended to trust everyone and say whatever they were thinking. Which didn't always turn out good. After Rihtarion's father died, more of these close calls began happening. Rihtarion had quickly put a stop to it. The younger Dragons were no longer allowed to be by themselves in the cities. This rule had worked wonders.

The Dragon listened as the Elf before him said, "It is where I am most wanted and most useful...." Her answer confused him. It was almost as if she had wanted to say more but had decided against it. Rihtarion said, "Your skill must indeed be great..to be able to survive in such a place by yourself." He watched as the Elf made her way to a rock and sat beside it. Rihtarion continued to eye Nessaina. It had been such a very long time since he'd had any real interaction with any being other than those that served him. He admitted to himself that he was enjoying it. "I believe I have yet to answer your earlier question, My Lady." the Dragon said softly. He'd decided that perhaps he should tell her. He wasn't sure why, he was going against his own rules and if anyone found out they would be quite cross with him. He smiled once more at the female Elf before continuing. "I have only ever had the misfortune of traveling with fools who believe by pretending to care for me, that they will gain my favor. I'm surrounded by those who only tell what I wish to hear. It has become...tiring." Rihtarion watched Nessaina, wondering how she would take the information he'd just given her.

Eyes glanced to the Woods for a moment, thinking about his comment about her skill, then looked back to him. " Is it still a skill if you have no other place to go? If...you simply have no other choices than to survive in such a place by yourself." She purposely mocked his words, but thoughtfully asked him the question. She immediately beat herself up about it, though. Probably more information then she should have said, but it was too late now. She had never really told anyone why she lived here, nor what happened in her past. In fact, she hardly even spoke to others, unless they were creatures of the forest.

The second comment about traveling rung through her ears and bounced around her head for a few moments. What could he have possibly meant by that? She was a little confused by this but she thought of an answer. " Why would another wish to gain your favor, Rihtarion?" She said his name with a bit of emphasis. Although she still thought about how the name sounded familiar to her, she was still attempting to make it come back to her. There were very few people she ran into and little to no text for her to read, so why would the name be familiar? She did not know. At this point, she too decided to smile. Her lips curled gently into either corner, pushing her cheeks upwards and causing her eyes to sparkle momentarily. It was a quick, small smile, but it was clearly displayed for him. Why she did this, she was not sure. It just seemed to want to burst out of her, so she allowed it.

Rihtarion thought for a moment. "I believe that even if you had no choice but to live here, it would still be skill. How else could one survive in such a place?" he said, continuing to wath Nessaina. It saddened Rihtarion to think that she had no choice but to live in the Woods. Surely she had a choice now? He hesitated for a moment before saying, "Forgive me, My Lady, for I am a curious soul. I would ask you why you stay here? Surely you could leave whenever you wished it?" He regretted asking. He was sure she would be angry with him or worse, take off. The damage was already done though and he couldn't take it back now. He would just have to see what she would say or do.

When Nessaina asked Rihtarion why would someone want to gain his favor, the Dragon smiled sadly at the girl. He'd already said too much. For once, he was glad of the races obliviousness to Dragons. Glad that they seemed to have forgotten the times long ago. It was better this way. Easier to blend. Rihtarion wanted to just tell this Elf everything, yet he couldn't. It was one thing to drop hints here and there but to flat out say, 'I'm a Dragon' was forbidden for all. The Elf would have to figure it out for herself. "They seek my favor so that they may gain wealth, power, and anything else that is within my power to grant them. I am their leader..not their friend." he said, watching Nessaina for her reaction. "It has always been this way...even before my time. Such is the way of all races' leaders." Rihtarion was trying not to mention the word royalty. That usually placed unwanted attention on himself. Leader was a much better word to use. The Dragon Prince smiled back at the female Elf near him. He wanted so badly for her to figure out what he was before he had to leave. Then he could perhaps take her with him..if she even wanted to know him. He'd never felt this way before. The feelings he was having were strange to him. He wanted to spend time with this Elf. Normally he would have fled quickly from her, he just couldn't bring himself to.

Nessaina nodded ever so slightly to agree with him at his first comment. I believe that even if you had no chioce but to live here, it would still be skill. It had taken her time to get used to the woods. In fact, it took years. Numerous creatures disapproved of her and expressed such. However, over time, she was able to learn how to avoid them and get away from them. Killing a creature whom protected their own was not in her nature, and thus always tried to make that the last resort. Only a few times she had to kill for her Life, and she did so with regrets. Rihtarion then asked her the question she wished so much not to hear. A sigh and she looked down and away from him. Not wanting to answer, she simply stared off upon the ground. How could she respond? Tell him she allowed her mother to become a slave? That was not exactly a story that made her look like a good being. It was hatred of her past that allowed her to stay silent.

Instead, he made another comment. Thankfully, it was something to keep her mind off her own History and focus upon His. Something she was more than curious about. Head canted, thinking about his words. " For a traveler, you do not seem one to offer much up other than companionship. Why would you be one to provide wealth and power when you look like one whom wishes for it Himself?" She thought a moment longer. " You do not look like an Elf leader Rihtarion. You look like a lonely traveler whom seeks companionship himself by talking to strange females by rivers in mysterious woods." She smiled lightly but consciously wiped it off her face. It made her chuckle on the inside and even feel a little odd. However, she meant every word of it.

Rihtarion....Rihtarion... Rang through her mind numerous times. She had heard the name before. It bothered her so. Traveling alone.... race leader...black.... Mind paused a moment. Staring deeply at the darkly dressed Elf. The text...the stones...was it there? Long ago she had come across some ancient stones that read in Elven of flying creatures and their existence. She had never heard of such and figured it a tale. It stated of one creature who fled. No... It could not be him. That was centuries prior. And they were just silly words. It could not be him. She shook her head, trying to erase the thought from her mind. She was going crazy, for sure.

Rihtarion decided not to push Nessaina as to answering him as to why she was living in the Woods. The Dragon felt as if he shouldn't push the girl. He didn't really know her, after all. The Elf had all rights to not tell him anything at all. Rihtarion gazed at the girl. He wondered what had happened to her during her life. Why she was the way that she is. Rihtarion did not think these were things that he would ever know about Nessaina. She was a mystery to him. Rihtarion was still not sure what to think of her. She intrigued him to no end. He'd never allowed any Elf this close to him, allowing them to know anything about him. The Dragon normally wouldn't speak to Elves or Humans unless he had to. Preferring to stay more the loner.

" For a traveler, you do not seem one to offer much up other than companionship. Why would you be one to provide wealth and power when you look like one whom wishes for it Himself?" Nessaina said. " You do not look like an Elf leader Rihtarion. You look like a lonely traveler whom seeks companionship himself by talking to strange females by rivers in mysterious woods." The Dragon gazed at the Elf near him for some time. He wasn't sure what to say. What should he say? He smirked at the Elf. "I do a brilliant job at blending in, it seems. I do not like to bring attention to myself as being someone of importance." Rihtarion's brilliant emerald eyes intently gazed upon Nessaina. He took in everything he could see of her. "I am no Elf leader, no. I am so much more than that." The Dragon continued to watch the Elf. He couldn't help but wonder if anything was making sense to the girl near him.

It relieved her to think he had ignored the fact she did not respond to his original question. This eased her in knowing he did not wish to delve into her past. A past she did not wish to delve in herself. However, the strange Elf decided to expound, with limitations, upon his own.

Slowly standing, her strong legs carried her away from the rock and toward him. Bright blue eyes looked the male up and down. For some reason a strength came over her. One that knew no such thing as being nervous or cautious. She felt at this point he would have attacked her if he truly desired too. Walking around the male's back, she examined him, taking in all the words he stated. Unfortunately the ancient texts of flying creatures swirled around with his words. They seemed to mix too well and this not only uneased her, but intrigued her. She decided to get more answers in order to prove her theory.

"You say these words of blending well, yet you tell me that you are of high importance. You do the opposite of what you say. "

Now at his side, she paused, looking at his face closer than before. His eyes were odd to her. Ones she had yet to see in her life. His hair, darker than the night skies, too caught her attention. Head canted to the right, lips slowly and very slightly forming a gentle smile toward the male.

"You speak as if an Elf leader is lower than yourself. If so, what could be of more importance than an Elf leader if you too are an Elf?"

She dared asked the question. For being a leisurely day, this sure turned out interesting in her mind. Much more entertaining than she had hoped the day would bring. Thinking of more questions and assuming his answers would be misleading, she thought more of these flying creatures. Never once had she seen or heard of them. Not a single word had been said whilst she lived within her Village. Never once a word had been said between travelers while she lived here. Silly words was all she thought them to be. Could it be she had ran into one? It was impossible.

Now in front of him she paused again. Staring into his mysterious eyes, she attempted to see through any response he would give her. Eyes of any creature could tell all, and she knew this. They were the portal of every emotion and she intended to use that to her advantage. Only but an arms length away from Him, he too could see into her icy eyes. They held wonder, questions, loneliness, and adventure.

Rihtarion kept his gaze upon Nessaina as she circled him. He was slightly amazed that all of a sudden she decided to get so close to him after being so wary of him. Why would she all of a sudden decided to get near him? The Dragon wasn't sure. He wouldn't complain, though. He felt at ease near her, as if he'd known her for all of his long, immortal life. Realizing this, he was slightly confused. Why would he feel this way? "You say these words of blending well, yet you tell me that you are of high importance. You do the opposite of what you say. " the Elf said, near his side. The Dragon remained silent, eyeing the girl. Rihtarion couldn't help but wonder why she'd become so brave all of a sudden. She'd made sure to stay far from him this entire time. He had to admit, though, he was enjoying their interaction. "You speak as if an Elf leader is lower than yourself. If so, what could be of more importance than an Elf leader if you too are an Elf?" Nessaina said. Rihtarion's emerald eyes were glued to the girl's. He could see so much in her eyes. They seemed to pull at him, begging to know everything.

The Dragon sighed. How could he answer the Elf without saying what he was? He remained silent for some time. Contemplating on how to answer Nessaina. He tilted his head to the side, the Dragon appeared to be deep in thought. "Forgive me, My Lady. I cannot answer your question. It is..forbidden." he said, frowning slightly. He really did want to tell her what he was. He would be killed if he told Nessaina and another dragon found out. His emerald eyes shone brightly, regret and a slight sadness showing. What he would have done to be able to tell her. Perhaps a different approach? Yes..that could work. "Tell me, My Lady, have you heard of Mallur?" he asked, watching her carefully. He doubted that she had. Had she, she probably would have been searching for the Great Dragon City. Rihtarion almost hated thinking of his home. He missed it terribly. He doubted that he would ever get to see it again.

Why she suddenly had the ability to near him too was her own mystery. She became too intrigued in her ideal to care too much of their closeness. Too with the fact that she was still ready to dash in any direction if he so chose to attack her. It was not like she completely forgot, but she needed answers and this was how she came about to do it. For the time being, that is.

She immediately noticed the type of sorrow expressed within his eyes. She knew a cord had been struck. She also knew he would try to not answer it. He did well by explaining that he could not tell her. Although it was not the direct answer she desired, it was still one that gave her even more proof. She smiled, something to him that may have seemed odd. It was then he asked, "Tell me, My Lady, have you heard of Mallur?". She thought for a moment. The exact name did not strike her. The texts she found never said names, but simply the general idea of what had happened. The term Dragons was not even used. It was fairly lacking a lot of information, but gave enough of a hint for her to realize that perhaps she thought right; This was a flying creature. Rihtarion was one of the royals whom ran.

" I have not heard of this." She began to walk away from him, feeling comfortable that she had gathered his physical appearance long enough. This time though she made it to the waters edge, walking far enough forward to have her feet just barely in the river. Body turned slightly so that she could still look upon him. Toes wiggled quickly, allowing the water to rush between them.

Although it was not her original intention, she decided to comment on what he had first said. "Forgive me, My Lady. I cannot answer your question. It is..forbidden." It was becoming clearer to her that her suspicions were correct. She had no idea what this meant, in all reality. Just simply that she read a fairy tale and perhaps found a character that could have been true to the story. Mystery was surrounding her and it excited her so. " Is it not wrong to lead a Lady on with such information , then block her once she becomes interested?" Brows raised just a moment, as if saying So there.

She really had no idea what she would have done with the correct answer. Would she have simply walked away? Would she be scared? These thoughts and emotions suddenly flooded her. Why was she exactly asking? Why did she honestly care?
