Description

Appearance: Van is 6'1" with a defined athletic build. He has long white hair, that looks more youthful than aging. He wears dark, old looking armor with a ragged black cloak.

Personality

Van seems always serene and apathetic towards other people, even when he is actually deeply conflicted. He is also extremely calm, even in battle, and is very seldom surprised by even the most drastic of actions. although most of his opponents attempt to kill him, Van searches for a way to defeat them without mortal injury, such as using the back of his blade or not dealing a killing blow, and attempts to save his opponents as they are about to die.

History

Van's real name is unknown, taking on the name Van after leaving his real one behind. He was born to a noble family, being the second born and the favorite. His unique white hair and handsome features made him the prodigal son of his house. When he was eighteen he led his first mission into a deep forest. There had been reports of a fox group setting up camp. Van led the group of knights into the camp and slaughtered everyone there, women and children as well. He had been taught all his life that the other races were inferior and did not match the strength humans possessed. After the victory a mist formed around the knights, eerie howls and noises being heard from every direction. The knights began falling one by one until only Van was left. He slashed the shadows as they came at him, only for them to disappear as soon as the blade touched. A blinding light came over the land. A light so bright it scorched Van's once sky blue eyes, causing him to be permanently blind. Hearing only a voice in the distance, he walked towards it, tripping over his feet constantly. The voice told him that he must live everyday to make up for what he has done.

Van left his home and set out, trying to find what meaning was meant in those words and what he must do to redeem himself. Though Van can't actually see, his experience with the mysterious force that night allows him to see through the slightest vibration, sending (to him) visible shockwaves that reveals everything to him. His senses are also heightened allowing him to react quicker and hear things others wouldn't.
