Personality: Known by others to often be overly sure of himself and to posses an all too cocky demeanor, Ippo D. Magnus is a young man unlike any other native to his home of Tune Island. Far exceeding the norm, Magnus has been noted to be at home among the more restless and adventurous sort that often visit the isle, often frequenting the brothels and taverns lining the coast reveling in the tales the sailors spin. With a halfhearted cocky grin always present upon is face Magnus seemingly floats through life with an all to restless and carefree manner. Though he is found irksome by many, he has often be called loyal and reliable to those he considers friends, yet the trouble that often follows him keeps most normal people at bay making it extremely hard for strangers to get close to him. However; despite this he is able to keep an air of coyness around him and a smile upon his face regardless of the many trials life has sent his way.

Ambitions: Magnus dreams of becoming a pirate of great infamy and wishes to rival the legend of Gol D. Roger himself by conquering the Grand Line and becoming the most feared and respected pirate of his generation.

Biography: The early years of Magnus' youth remain obscured to everyone, including himself. The earliest memories he posses are those of the night he was found by the village elder of Tune Island and taken in after wandering aimlessly through the streets alone. There was no hint to who he was or who this strange young child had come to this island with, save for the piece of paper pinned to his shirt bearing the name Ippo D. Magnus. After searching for several weeks to no avail, and not wanting to turn the young child over to the authorities so he could be sent to a orphanage, the elder decided that he would keep the boy and raise him as his own. So the years went on and the young child grew into a small boy, and though he knew not the love of his mother he always had the love of a father, in which he considered the Elder to be.

As time went on, and despite his father's constant scrutiny, Magnus became a troublesome and restless soul. Often getting involved in altercations with other youths or pushing his luck a little too far with the patience of the other villages. Though his father was always able to smooth things over, as the years went by people became less tolerant, and the once boyish pranks took on a more serious life. When he entered his teenage years Magnus had amassed the reputation of being a delinquent and a criminal. Though the first he had ever actually done steal once or twice from the vendors in town, the years of constantly irking the villagers had left a sour taste in their mouth causing them to always assume the worst when he was involved. It was on one particular day in which he had just stolen a nice fat wallet full of crisp new Berri notes from a passing merchant, that Magnus was chased by the local marine officials. He was always quick on his feet and of course gave the men a good bit of exercise as he led them across town ending up in the tavern. While running through the tavern's crowded beer hall Magnus bumped into a rather insavory looking character with a long red beard tied into multiple braids. At first the ferocity in the man's eyes made magnus fearful, but when the Marines entered the look of malice he casted down upon Magnus seemed to vanish. This moment would be the major turing point in Magnus' life, and the true beginning of his adventure.

Magnus would proceed to watch the red bearded man and his companions put one of the worst beating upon the marines that Magnus had ever before seen, and afterwards the man invited Magnus to sit beside him where he proceeded to tell his story. He explained to Magnus that he was the pirate captain Red Jack, captain of the Red Reavers, and one of the most wanted pirates within the East Blue. Noted for being overly ruthless and bloodthirsty, many tales had emerged of Red Jack in his time as captain. Jack proceeded to brag that one tale stated that his beared was not naturally red, but instead died red from the blood that spills down upon it when he drinks the blood of his enimies. Magnus found it hard to believe that such an overly joyus man could truly be a monstorous pirate, but looks were often decieving and he knew better than to question what the man said. They talked for a bit longer about several differnt things before Jack layed one of his mighty hands down upon Magnus' shoulder. "My boy," He said almost booming out with a mix of excitment and laughter."It is not often I find a youth after my own heart in the world we live in today, and that gleam in your eye I have seen far too many times in my own reflection. The quiet village life doesn't suit one such as you. Head for the sea, and live a life of true freedom and adventure." With a toothy grin Jack finished his ale and stood, saying not one more word as he departed. That would be the only time Magnus would see Red Jack, but it was the only time he needed.

Magnus is older now, and the restless nature that led him to that fateful encounter in the tavern has not yet subsided. The dream of becoming a pirate has seeped into his very being and Magnus fully prepares to leave his home and make a name for himself in the pirate world. Plans have been set and dreams have nearly become reality as the days on Tune Island slowly drag on and though Magnus will surely miss his father and his home, the age of pirates is upon the world and Magnus fully intends to join it and conqueror the Grand Line.

So begins...

Tune Island|Port-side Tavern|Mid Day

As the early morning sun reached it's peak in the sky over Tune Island signifying the start of the afternoon, the regular hustle and bustle of the various sailors and fishermen continued on as normal while a few weary patrons found their way into the Port-side Tavern. It was a rather run down and weathered establishment, yet had a certain attractiveness to it that drew hordes of people in each day. There men from all walks of life and from all corners of the sea gathered and traded stories over a pint o two of ale. Today however, one man had entered these hallowed halls not intending to escape the heat or revel in the stories of the other patrons. No, instead this man had came here hoping to broker information from a loose lipped marine official willing to part way with confidential information for a few extra berries to line his pockets.

"The officers there change shifts at three o'clock, it takes around ten minutes for the others to take there posts." A man adorned in a marine uniform and brandishing the flushed face of a drunkard said.

"Good, HA that's more than enough time. Here's your money, and remember you never saw me alright." Magnus spoke out as he pushed a pouch containing the Berries towards the marine. With a nod the man picked up the pouch and exited the tavern. It was now 12:00 and all Magnus had to do now was wait. The Marines had docked their ships on the far side of the docks, and that section of the port had been sectioned off for Marine personnel only. Due to that they always had guards posted making it near to impossible to get in without an ace up your sleeve, one which Magnus just acquired for a hefty sum.

Magnus had thought about this for a long time now. He had always wanted to leave the Island and become a pirate, yet he lacked to means to do so. Then it came to him, what better way to start out as a pirate than to steal directly from the Government itself. He had gotten in touch with a salvage off the island, and he together they arranged to meet up and sink a stolen Marine vessel, then they would both cash in on the salvage and go their separate ways. It was the perfect plan, and it was already in motion.

Yorick had been in the tavern for a whole day now. Using the mask the sailors and marines 24-hour drinking to mask this temporary shelter he created. He hid himself behind a marine in order to mask the direction of any attention on him. He was far from worry of anyone picking up his face, being that he had no intention of covering up his looks. He still had worries that some one would have caught wind of his bounty. Yorick kept with the news and ensure that his bounty was not yet on the updated list. It had only been a month since the murder he committed, but he knew that sooner or later this little island will get the new bounty listings and his face will be ready for anybody to catch. So he needed a getaway crew, a pirate crew. So sitting in that tavern for the past 24 hours was also his method to recruit himself to a ship that would gladly take him on.

However, he had to be specific. He needed a rookie crew. If he joined an experienced crew, the infamy of his would rise two-fold and he would definitely be caught in many troubles ahead. Also the crew had to have some more intelligent people, those who go into sea without any knowledge of the danger will surely get themselves kill in the hour. There were some promising individuals but none of them fit his criteria. Not until he watched what seemed to be an underhanded transaction happening in front of him. "Oya oya, that is very interesting~" He watched as the marine officer left in the most shady way and what was left was a green-hair kid sitting at the table in front of him.

"Hey brat, aren't you a little too young to be doing underhanded things with the marine officer. You know corroborating with officers will only to lead you to trouble." He was trying to get the kid's attention. "Also you should have done these things at less populated place. You may have fooled the drunk masses, but you would never know who may just be watching." He met the boy's eyes with a chilling smirk. "I wonder how much I could make if I decided to reveal this treachery to the lieutenant of the base. Kakakaka"

Everything had been perfect for once. He had played it cool and waited for nearly three weeks for the attention of the local authorities to turn elsewhere, yet all his patience in planning seemed to be all for naught as the stranger cackled in his face. Magnus' first instinct was to run for the hills, not one to get caught easily off guard by some opportunist, yet before he could offer the man a retort he noticed something. The man looked awfully familiar, in fact Magnus knew exactly who he was upon a second glance and he knew that this man wasn't going to turn him in anytime soon.

"I'd say a hefty sum, but not quite as much as they would make with the price on your head wouldn't you agree?" Magnus said with a toothy grin as he leaned forward in his chair to eye the man. "No, I don't suppose an intelligent man such as yourself would risk being noticed by any marines since the only reason someone would come to Tune was to stay out of sight, wouldn't you agree?"

Magnus and Yorick, now faced to faced, was playing chicken. He could see Magnus' sweat and Magnus could see his. Of course the silent was broken with Yorick laughing to himself. "Kakakaka, this is very troublesome. Didn't notice that a snot-nosed brat like you would know this face. Oya oya, got myself caught." Yorick raised his leg onto the table and leaned back to signify his retreat. "I saw nothing of what happened today. But I am very curious about what you are trying to do with a crooked marine. It looked to me that you plan to do something big. Trying to break out your imprisoned friend or something?" Yorick cocked his head. He wanted to know what this kid's plan was.

"Of course you don't have to say anything to a criminal like me. not like your plan will have any worth to me?" He was bored anyhow, waiting for some sort of opportunity to get to him. Why not just listen to some story by a brat to pass the time.

She knew that that man would be coming after her quite soon and she needed to hurry, but these annoying marines just kept coming and coming. Each one that she knocked down, there seemed to be two more in his or her place. Wrapping her chain around the throat of a marine, she chucked them over the side of the ship.
She heard someone order the retrieval of medical kits. Great, that didn't take long. Better get moving. She didn't get that chance. All of a sudden, he appeared in front of her, his leg all glowing and shiny.

As the kick slammed onto her, she felt like her chest was being crushed. Such power! She flew off the ship and felt her body crash into a solid building, breaking through to the inside. Once she had stopped tumbling, she coughed up a small amount of blood as she heard him call out to her about him killing her.
No wonder he packs a punch. Vice-Admiral huh? She'd make him pay for that kick someday. She'd have to get much stronger in order to do that though.
As she slowly stood, she noticed she had been kicked into the tavern. Some of the patrons screamed as they ran from the building. Better keep moving before that man decided to come and finish me off. Need to get off this island..or at least hide for awhile. I'll remember you Shin Shiroi.

She glanced at the patrons that actually decided to stay after she crashed inside. couple of them were at the bar and some were at the tables that she didn't crash into. She felt a small trickle of blood drip down her forehead. Damn that marine. She pushed open the backdoor of the tavern and made her way into town to try and find a place to hide. Much as she wanted to beat that smug look of his face, it would have to wait.

Magnus was not sure what to make of the man in front of him. His insistent tendency to call Magnus a brat was irksome to say the least, and if a low profile wasn't needed today Magnus might have just slugged him. However, by chance or some weird twist of fate Magnus was in need of help with his new endeavor and he knew just the criminal to coax into it.

"Nothing so heroic or chivalrous, I just intend to steal a ship. I could use a hand if your interested. I cant offer you any pay or anything like that, but a free ride is a free ride am I right?" Magnus then stood and began heading towards the door. "Listen I have a very important appointment with a marine shipyard, if you want to tag along feel free to tag along."

Yorick listened closely to Magnus and once he heard of his plan he could not help but chuckle. Then the thought of it all was hilarious and the chuckled transformed into a laugh. "You? You are going to steal a marine ship?! Pinch me I must be dreaming. Boy you are insane to think you can just steal one under their nose." Yorick brought down his leg and sat up straight. He rubbed his forehead and the laughter died down. "Oya oya, if you really want to steal a ship then count me out. If you already know my face then someone else will bound to recognize this handsome face if I tag along." Yorick then stood on up and shifted his tiny crown a bit. "However, I wouldn't mind taking up your free ride offer. I do need to get myself off this boring island. If you make it out with a ship, then come find me at docks. I can offer my medical service. My skill as an ace-class doctor will be an asset when out on the disease-infected seas."

Yorick chuckled once again and left the table. "Be extra careful brat. Good luck with this mission of yours, I am wishing for your success." He left the bar with a smirk and away from Magnus' sights. As he walked down the dirt path, he had noticed that the bribed marine officer was still around the corner and along with him is a companion. "Oya oya?" The two were peeking into the bar and Yorick surely knew that there was trouble. Yorick was listening close and heard something very troubling that may be a hinder to the kid's plan. "Looks like I may have to end up helping the kid after all. Tch, how annoying. And just when I thought I got a free ride without having to do anything." Before Yorick could do anything, he heard a loud crash coming from the tavern. He looked over at the direction but decided to let his curiosity subside thinking the commotion was from a bar fight.

Konan found the back door to the outside bolted and locked. Damn...just my luck. Now she'd have to go out the front and hopefully not be spotted.
As she returned through the door into the main lobby, she spotted three marines burst in and face her. "That's her. Arrest her! She killed a marine and attacked the Vice Admiral."
She groaned as she grabbed her chain. The marines rushed her, swords drawn. Most of the patrons scattered to the sides of the establishment or outside, but the two at the bar just stood there.
"Get out of my way." Her voice was one of boredom. She knew these marines didn't pose a challenge..and she was right. The fight was over in less that 2 minutes. Her chain was now dripping blood, theirs and hers. One of the marines was dead and the other two were extremely injured.

"Stupid Vice Admiral..sending his cronies after me..AFTER he kicks me into this freaking building. The nerve!" She walked behind the bar and grabbed a bottle, drinking from it. The rest of the people rushed out of the tavern leaving only the three of them. She then noticed the men at the bar were still there, but they were staring at her. "What?"

~ "I'm guessing there's tons of deaths outside of the ship.
But...I won't be allowing that fate for anyone from our ship" ~
- Marine Vice-Admiral Shin Shiroi

He continued to walk down the trail of blood. With the fresh smell of bitter and burnt blood mixed with the air, most marines who were stationed at this dock started to throw up over the side. They weren't even sailing. He looked back, annoyed. They were marines! Strong and proud soldiers, no, dogs of the military. Even if they were dogs, they should have been trained with stomaches of iron and chinned-up proudness. This didn't look like what he imagined.

Looking back at some of the docked marines, they looked really pathetic. Possibly low ranks, but still, undeniably pathetic. His marines were much stronger than this, and he knew this by mere experience. Even as laid back as he was, he could stand worse.

Swinging his shoulders towards where he last saw the girl, he noticed that she had disappeared. Gritting his teeth, but grinning in his thoughts, he said,
"Like I said...she ain't bad. But I wonder how long she'll walk until she falls?".
He started to step towards the wreckage, and noticed the small trail of blood.
"....honestly, I think I hit her too hard?", he admitted. He nodded his head with a very lazy way, and continued to head off, following the trail of little blood drops.

As he arrived to the scene, he slowly crouched underneath the hole he had made after kicking, and noticed three people in the tavern. The girl he had just kicked earlier, some shady dude, and another kid. Staring at the chain girl with a grin, he announced,
"I found you".

With another blink of an eye, he appeared before the girl. As he aimed for her wound, he swung his leg in speed.
A crash appeared before the tavern. Planks and bits of broken bricks shattered from their original places, and started to drop to the hard cement. Hearing the little 'Crack's of contact, Shin appeared out of the tavern once again. Yet this time, he noticed a pair of battered chains, and the girl on the floor. His eyes leaned onto the chains, and he noticed the bend. Turning to the girl again, he noticed that she had the same wound. Nothing different, no extra blood, nothing.

He looked at the girl with concern and suspicion.
"This girl got lucky. That chain dropped right at the perfect moment. But..something's off...can it be? The power of the kings?". He dropped his gaze onto the girl that was still staring up at him in fury. Glaring back at her, he asked,
"What is your name?", he quickly asked. It was acknowledgement.

She got lucky there. She didn't expect he would find her so fast. She thought she had more time. Still, when she saw him appear in front of her and swing his leg again, she thought she was done. She couldn't fight someone with devil fruit powers, especially someone high ranked in the military. Still, she wouldn't give him the satisfaction of seeing her in fear. She glared at him as his leg came at her again.
Still, as suddenly as he was there, he was outside again. Her glare never left him, even as the chains from the ceiling dangled in front of her.

"What is your name?" Was he finally treating her fairly? Like a real opponent? Probably not, but still..it was something. "My name is Konan..Vice Admiral. I'm going to be the master of my fighting style..and no-one, not even you, will stop me." The determination flowing from her was grand. She had the fire to back up her statement and the brass to stand up to a Vice Admiral of the Marines. No-one will stop me..not him..not any pirate..no-one!
She held her glare with his and took another swig from the bottle in her hand.
