❝ Who I've become. ❞

Personality
Xander is a proud and dedicated Priest who takes job very seriously. To him, it's a lifestyle; being able to help those in need, to show the light to those around him-to free the sinful from the binds that hold their soul to Hell. He is a very passionate person who puts his all into everything he does and he's not one to give up on something so easily. Xander enjoys working hard and spends most of his time at the church. But when he isn't busy playing 'Priest', Xander can be a very humble and calm guy.
Xander enjoys the little things in life and takes great care to appeciate every single moment he can, but tends to come off very serious and solemn. He lives on the morals of kindness and respect and would never dream of harming another. Being the softy that he is though, Xander is never afraid to take a stand and fight for what's right.

❝ Who I used to be... ❞

History
Alexander was born to Patricia Forester and Kalvin Naples in a very small town. His father was catholic while his Mother was christian, and both reinforced their religion on their son drastically.
As a child and a young adult, Xander was very respectful and obedient; doing anything his parents or teachers asked of him. Making the top of his class every year through highschool, Xander realized he wanted more to life than just success, he wanted to help others; to give them second chances of life in the name of the Lord.
At eightteen, Alexander became an apprentice for the local Pastor and soon found himself working his way up to becoming one himself. At twenty-two, alexander moved to a larger city and went to the Grand Cathedral; the most prestigous church in the region. There he learned mor ethan he could possibly imagine about God, the Devil; demons and angels, spirits and poltergeist.
Finding an interest in these things, Xander began studying with a fellow priest about exorcisms.
Little did he know that they were as real as himself and they were one of the most dangerous procedures to perform.
Now at twenty-five, Xander has all the experience any priest could have; question is, will he ever get to properly use it?

It was Wednesday night and Alexander was at the Grand Cathedral late again. There was quite a lot of paper work to fill out in the line of duty for a priest. Children and adults waiting to be baptized, confessions that were to be read and signed away or burned, new apprenticeships and tours of the church, and there were thousands more to list off.
Xander slid the pile of papers forward to the front of his desk and let his head fall to the desk, making a soft thud. He stayed in the position for a couple minutes, silently praying to God.

Dear Lord, I have worked hard this month; this week; this day. I have blessed many, baptized three children, cleansed the church, listened to confessions, helped sooth the souls of many restless and troubled folk. And this paper work, I understand if it is not done that things cannot continue with their rightful pace, but i ask of you...please, just a small break tonight. I am so...exhausted. not from doing your work, Lord no. But...my mind, it needs rest. Time. To sooth itself, refresh and re-cleanse itself. I ask of you, may I please have this night.

Alexander waited for a second before picking his head back up. He looked at his desk and nodded. Spotting a paper out of place, he pulled it out and grinned. It was that weeks schedule.
"That's right, Sisiter Elsie Holmes comes in tomorrow, not me. I'll leave her a note for this paper work, and at least organize it for her. Thank you, lord."
His grin grew into a smile as he felt the Lord's gaze upon him. He appreciated the break tonight, feeling he deserved the rest. he'd worked hard the past two weeks, not a single day off. So tonight, he'd read a little, catch up on the football game and go to sleep.

Xander headed down the large stairs, carrying his bag and bible, ready to lock up the church, get in his car and head home. He whistled a hymn as he slowly took each step with grace. the feeling of the wood banister pleased him more and more with each step, knowing the Lord had not only recognized him, but granted him his wish.
Tonight...tonight is magical.

Taking the last step down, Alexander began to head towards the large mahogany doors when suddenly one burst open, a large gust of wind sweeping in, leaves and dirt flying a bout.
"No!" Xander cried as as he set down his things and ran towards the door. His first concern was to close it then lock it, then to clean up before he left. Until he saw her.

She was small and frail, skinny and dirty. Her hair was a tangled mess and her white flowered dress was slightly torn at the bottom, one of her straps hanging off of her shoulder.

"My....my son....pl-please....he's...I don't know what to do! Help me!"
Alexander froze for a second before feeling a power inside him grow and rise within his heart and soul.
Rushing over to the woman, he grabbed her arm and tried to help her stand and balance, while with his other arm, he cradled the deathly looking infant, taking the child into the nook of his arm.

He guided the woman to the alter, sitting her down on one of the steps next to it and then carefully rushed over to the kitchen area to grab her some water.
Coming back her found her slumped over, resting her head at the bottom of the alter. He sighed, re-positioning the child in his arm.
Kneeling down before her, he gently balanced himself and the child in a way that he could use both hands to lean the woman forward and help her to take a few small sips of water.

"I...thank...you."
She lifted her head and gave a weak smile to Xander, him returning it with a nod.
"M'am, what has happened? Your son...he looks very ill. Why have you brought him to the church and not the hospital?"

The woman paused at this and than began yelling,

"The DEVIL! THE DEVIL! HE has my SON!"
She burst into hysterics, her head falling onto the priest's lap. Her hands, pulling at his sides, and her voice quietly whispering,
"Save him...please.

Alexander had moved the woman and her son to a back room with a table and few chairs. Setting her son on the table, Xander quickly found a blanket and wrapped the infant, he then assisted the woman with sitting down in a chair near by.

Xander closed his eyes and thought for a moment,
I've never...never actually dealt with something like this. Is...is this child truly possessed? Or is he simply ill? He seems to have pneumonia and possibly bronchitis, but...there is...something else...LORD, give me your strength.

Opening his eyes, Xander prepared himself. He put on his purple stole, brought out some holy water and a cross and began.
Sprinkling holy water upon the room, Alexander began to pray.

"In the Name of the Father,
and of the Son,
and of the Holy Ghost.
Amen."

He made his way to the woman, signing a cross and sprinkling her with holy water.

"Most glorious Prince of the Heavenly Armies,
Saint Michael the Archangel,
defend us in "our battle against principalities and powers,
against the rulers of this world of darkness,
against the spirits of wickedness in the high places.
Come to the assistance of men whom God has created to His likeness
and whom He has redeemed at a great price from the tyranny of the devil.
The Holy Church venerates you as her guardian and protector;
to you, the Lord has entrusted the souls of the redeemed to be led into heaven.
Pray therefore the God of Peace to crush Satan beneath our feet,
that he may no longer retain men captive and do injury to the Church.
Offer our prayers to the Most High,
that without delay they may draw His mercy down upon us;
take hold of "the dragon, the old serpent, which is the devil and Satan,"
bind him and cast him into the bottomless pit
"that he may no longer seduce the nations."

He made his way over to the table with the infant, sprinkled some holy water upon him and continued, turning towards a new prayer,

"In the Name of Jesus Christ,
our God and Lord,
strengthened by the intercession of the Immaculate Virgin Mary,
Mother of God,
of Blessed Michael the Archangel,
of the Blessed Apostles Peter and Paul and all the Saints.
and powerful in the holy authority of our ministry,
we confidently undertake to repulse the attacks and deceits of the devil."

As he went to continue, though, the child began screaming-no, screeching; Wailing and flailing it's arms and legs about. The child began to throw up and continued it's crying. The mother fainted.
Alexander went to stop, but looked back at the child.
If I'm going to do this...I'm going to do it right. I cannot simply stop in the middle.

He walked back over to the child and continued. Holding the cross up and sprinkling the child with more holy water, he continued his prayer,

"God arises;
His enemies are scattered
and those who hate Him flee before Him.
As smoke is driven away,
so are they driven;
as wax melts before the fire,
so the wicked perish at the presence of God.

Behold the Cross of the Lord, flee bands of enemies.
The Lion of the tribe of Juda, the offspring of David, hath conquered.

May Thy mercy, Lord, descend upon us.
As great as our hope in Thee.
We drive you from us,
whoever you may be,
unclean spirits,
all satanic powers,
all infernal invaders,
all wicked legions,
assemblies and sects."

As he prayed, the child began to rise above the table, his screech becoming so loud and high in pitch, the glass of water shattered, the table began to dance along with the chairs. A large gust of wind filled the room, blowing around papers and documents, the pages of Xander's bible and the child's mother.

But he had to continue.

"In the Name and by the power of Our Lord Jesus Christ,
may you be snatched away and driven from the Church of God
and from the souls made to the image and likeness of God
and redeemed by the Precious Blood of the Divine Lamb.

Most cunning serpent,
you shall no more dare to deceive the human race,
persecute the Church,
torment God's elect and sift them as wheat."

As he finished his sentence, a gust of wind knocked him over and soon he heard several yells and cries, screaming and wailing from multiple voices all at once and then....everything stopped. The child dropped back onto the table, the wind stopped, papers fell to the floor. Everything seemed to just...return to normal.

Alexander stood, brushing himself off. He looked to the mother and was almost thankful that she was still out. But as he turned to the child, his heart froze.
He could already see that the child was not breathing.

He rushed over and grabbed the limp and lifeless boy, holding the boy's chest to his ear.
Nothing.
He brought the child in front of his face and let a single tear drop as he confirmed what he feared.
The child was dead.

He laid the child back onto the table and covered him with the blanket.
"In Jesus' name, the father and the Holy spirit, I ask of you, Lord, take this child into your arms. Hold him, nurse him, give him everlasting life and love and let his soul be one with you.
In the name of the Lord, amen."

Xander let himself fall to the floor and began sobbing.
I failed...I failed. This child...this mother...I have let an innocent die...I have broken a mother's heart...
He could not continue his thoughts, grief hitting harder than ever though possible. Lying there, Alexander fell asleep in a pool of his own tears.

A few hours had passed when Xander awoke. At first, he was dazed and confused, not sure of where he was or what time it was.
That was, until the setting before him sunk in.
The exorcism...
His demeanor grew solemn once again, but he had no more tears to shed. As he stood up, Alexander noticed two things immediately.
1. The mother was gone.
2. The room was eerily chilly.

Xander looked about, leaving the room and searching the church. He found no sight of the mother and no sign of anyone else having been there.

"Odd..."

Heading back to the room, Xander began to clean up, picking up papers, mopping up vomit; It took him a good couple hours to get everything looking the way it was before.
But he had one last thing to deal with; The body of the child.

Walking over to the table, Xander grabbed the lifeless body and cradled it, holding it up to his face and rocking it back and forth.

"What...what do i do with you...?"

As he said this, Xander thought he could hear a voice, soft and faint. Female. Sensual, yet soothing. He at first thought it to be the mother, calling out to her.
But there was no reply.
Setting the child back onto the table, Xander closed and locked the door, sitting down in a chair.

"I...am losing my mind. And I need to decide what to do with this child. Do i bury him, here in the yard of the church? Do i dump him some where? Maybe cremate him.."

As he thought this over, he almost though he could hear a reply to his rhetorical questions...out of the mysterious dark of the night.
